People give Valka a lot of shit which makes me sad bc her flaws are what make her interesting, and I LOVE thinking about her character.
Like, Have we considered how she had Hiccup at 20 and was married before that? Have we considered that, though she was in love with Stoick, marrying the Chief (or soon-to-be-chief) is a lot of responsibility? Have we considered how young 20 is and Hiccup takes after her in so many ways, not feeling ready for responsibility or wanting to settle down could be one of them? Have we considered she deliberately didn't come back because she maybe felt she wasn't ready to be a mother? Have we considered she loves Hiccup and Stoick so dearly but needed to live her own life? Have we considered how bittersweet the reunion really was because she realized she missed her chance to actually be a mother and how much the guilt of not coming back must've weighed on her?
I LOVE YOU VALKA HTTYD!!!!!!!

"Hey Fenrir? What's the protocol on roughhousing?" asks the human looking up at the busy orc. Polishing his newly crafted warhammer.
"Headshots are okay for those older than 10 but no aiming for the eyes. No biting or hairpulling or hits below the belt. Keep the fighting on the field. Stop at first blood or when the other says 'stop' or they give up."
"Got it!"
"If you need anything check the shed!"
.
"Hey Fen, where's Max?"
"He's out training with my siblings and cousins." He looks at the steel, his reflection looking perfectly back at him.
"Training? Like running?"
"No, sparring lessons. He seemed quite excited about it." He leans down to nuzzle the much smaller human.
"Fen."
"Yes love?"
"What exactly did Max tell you he was doing?" the orc looks at her bemused.
"Well, he asked me what the rules were for roughhousing, which I told him, and then he left to go spar with them. Oh and I told him where the sparring weapons are."
"...Fen, roughhousing is play fighting for humans. Not sparring. Just play wrestling. Not actual training with sparring weapons."
"...oh shit."
..
They arrive just in time to watch Max suplexing Fenrir's younger brother to the ground. The teenage orc slams to the ground but is quick to wrestle out of the human's grip.
From opposite sides comes two other teenage orcs. Together they body slam the human while he's still on the ground.
Kim sucks in a breath through her teeth wincing. Fenrir takes a step forward.
The human waves him off though. For he had managed to capture one of the twins upon impact. She was stuck in a headlock and now being used as a meat shield.
From there he managed to stand up with her but was soon overpowered once again.
...
By the end Max was the last one standing although barely. He had just stayed up a second longer than the twins.
Together the human and orcs laid there in the field covered in bruises and dirt. All of them satisfied and rather pleased at a well done sparring session.
"Well it's a good thing they wrestled."
"Are you sure roughhousing doesn't mean the same here as it does on Earth?"
"Eh still no? I mean we do wrestle but don't use weapons."
"Love, Max just used Nyx as a weapon against Echo and Baldur."
"I still don't know you did that." muttered Nyx.
"Yeah but that's normal!" sputtered the red faced Kim.
"He threw my sister at me! Threw her on top of me!"
"We're like the exact same height as him.." Echo was still trying to figure out how a species weaker and smaller than theirs was able to do that.
"In my defense, Kim's family taught me that one."
"Yeah but I never thought you'd actually do it! It's made for short people against tall people, not humans against orc children!"

Never in my life did I watch something quite as ridiculous, pointless, without any coherent sense of direction or self as The Acolyte. Start to finish it created its own 'threats' and 'issues' to artificially stimulate a plot that never had a single point to be made. What on earth were they thinking? Nothing in this series follows its own internal logic. The character motivations are all over the place and often simply contradict themselves within the same episode. The intrigue and the foreshadowing all come to a null when the reveals literally are not in par with what was implied and just generally--- what on earth? You cannot say I did not come open minded. Watched all the episodes, given it grace and opportunity time and time again to prove itself but--- no, no it's actually just the worst tv show I've ever seen, and that's a serious claim as I watched quite a few bad ones I enjoyed more than I did this one. Don't even get me started on how fundamentally lacking they are in understanding what the Jedi are and who they are as an entity, there was no idea of the self or the values or even codes of the Jedi in this show. Something that could have been such a wonderful and intriguing show, with visuals we all were craving (Jedi Temple) it ended up being below mid-show, shot almost in its whole entirety on a planet that looks 100% like earth with zero intriguing visuals or anything to justify the monstrous budget they had to burn through. Wow, kudos on creating something so empty of meaning I am not even angry after watching it, only baffled that someone actually wrote it and someone actually thought it was good enough to film. Damn.

If you had to eradicate one B&BH ship from existence, which one would it be?
UMMMMM probably Butt-Head x Daria 🫣
I guess whatever floats your boat. I'm in no position to judge in regards to fictional ships. There isn't anything inherently WRONG with it, but I just find it EXTREMELY out of character on both ends. Daria doesn't give af about Butt-Head or Beavis. At most she tolerates them or sees them doing bullshit like "woah! That's crazy guys. Get well soon!" Butt-Head is much the same. At no point in the run of the show do I see a smidge of chemistry between them that would suggest something romantic. When it comes to indulging in fan content for things like this, I tend to have a preference for sticking somewhat close to canon. I just can't see it as something that works whereas something like Butt-Head and Beavis is implied enough in the show as a joke to build off a legitimate interpretation.

hey. hey.
what if the crew remembered everything the baron did but luffy forgot everything (#repressionmoment) how dyou think the crew would feel about that
Honestly, I thought the angstiest concept for this movie would be the one that already happens. You know. With the crew being the ones who forget everything and Luffy having to deal with the burden of remembering all that trauma on his own. However, I've thought about this and-- This is equally as angsty. Think about it:
Everyone is fine. Everything is okay. So Luffy just smiles and considers the adventure done and he does not want to talk about what happened. Like. At all. The others are-- Saying they're fucked up after what happened would be an understatement. They do some apologizing between them for things they did and they go through a rough time because that's not something you forget easily. But especially they're all worried about Luffy. He's badly wounded (because what the fuck he just turned into a human colander with the number of arrows that went through him) and he acts like nothing has happened. They keep asking and he keeps saying it's fine. That it's alright if they're alright. Of course, with how many times he says so, they have to end up trusting him. But I personally think Nami would be the most worried of all and the one who would want to talk things out, and even go to Zoro to see if he can get something from him. The first days I think Luffy has nightmares about it. Like- Very fucked up nightmares and he keeps hiding the fact that for some reason he keeps throwing up whenever he sees something that kind of, sort of reminds him of that experience. They're all extremely concerned. Like- He's not fine. But he refuses to talk and keeps on saying it's okay. And, well, I think he'd end up forgetting. Like pretty soon after the experience he just! Poof! Forgets it. Not really, because he does still have an uneasy feeling with him, but the nightmares are wayyy more abstract now and he doesn't really know where they're coming from? He knows something happened, of course, he doesn't have total amnesia but he can't remember anything about it. It's just like a blurry picture, you know? So he stops thinking about it and starts living normally. But Nami? Nami wants to talk things out because she's sure that forgetting what happened can't be okay. She even asks Chopper and he says that this is common when going through traumatic experiences, but she doesn't- She doesn't want Luffy to forget without talking about it because,, What if someday, for some reason, he ends up remembering? What if it hits him like a ton of bricks? What happened while they were trapped that made Luffy like this? He often leaves the past in the past, but forgetting it is something else. She has to let go of it, at the end of the day, and rely on other people to talk about this. Luffy would be so concerned for them too, because he doesn't remember but he feels like he should, and he knows that whatever is making his crew all sad is probably his fault somehow.
Zoro keeps an eye on him, more than usual. Nami and Usopp are extremely close. Like- Codependency levels because they can't stop feeling guilty for what happened and if they lose sight of each other they're probably gonna go insane. Robin and Chopper are more or less like that too, but Robin handles it better. Keeps it to herself. Chopper goes to her for comfort more often, though. Sanji wants to deal with it on his own but he can't, because guilt keeps making him be with Zoro more even if he hates the idea of it. And Zoro has to be honest too and admit that they both fucked up and he doesn't like the idea of Sanji being on his own after this. Also, I think they're all very sensitive to darkness and sharp objects now, not to mention that Nami loves her beautiful tangerines but the thought of a flower that is not one of hers growing there makes her anxious. They're very careful not to let Luffy sleep alone because, even if he doesn't remember, nightmares are a thing. And he doesn't tell anybody but they know anyway.
I think he'd feel so guilty for not remembering because he knows he should and he knows there's something wrong, but he can't quite put images to it. I think he'd go to Nami one day while she's alone and say something like: "I'm sorry" / "Mm? For what, Luffy?" / "For not remembering" / "I told you. It's okay. It's not your fault. These things happe-" / "They shouldn't happen! Not to me! I am your captain and I'm the one who should protect you! And instead, I made you go to that island and- And- And I can't remember anything-" / "Luffy. Listen to me. You got us into that mess, yes, but you got us out too. You always do. We're fine" / "You're not... Liar" / "Yeah, no. We're not. But we will be. Eventually. So don't worry about things you can't change" / "Do you- Do you wanna talk bout it? You always seem like you want to tell me something and you can't" / "Not- Not now, okay? Maybe some other day" / "Can I stay with you?" / "Idiot. Yes. Of course".
And I guess they would move on past that but the trauma is still there. It's not something they can easily forget. Now just think about how Water 7 goes next! Luffy's going to suffer even more. You're welcome.
