A Shot in the Dark ~ Prologue
Well, welcome to my latest obsession - FBI and OA Zidan. This is a crossover between FBI, FBI: Most Wanted & Blue Bloods. Let me know what you think and if you'd like to be tagged in any future chapters.
I do not own any of the characters of the FBI Franchise and Blue Bloods, they belong to their respective owners
Tumblr media
Summary It's said, you'll always meet twice in life. But you never thought it be in a hostage situation with a gun pressed against your head.
Warnings: hostage situation, canon typical violence, coarse language, smut in later chapters
Tumblr media
The human mind is really the scariest thing of all.
Life in general is scary, and yet you step out of your home each day and face it. You imagine how a situation might turn out if you just changed one thing in your day to day life. Sometimes it’s the sandwich they didn’t have at the bakery and sometimes it’s the choice you make on the job.
“Andrew, drop the gun and let my sister go!” Detective Danny Reagan called, his own weapon trained on the former NYPD officer, voice shaking as he looked at you, seeing his own fear mirrored in your eyes. “She’s got nothing to do with this. You want me. Let the kids and her go.”
Shaking his head, former police officer Andrew O'Sullivan pushed the muzzle of his gun harder against your temple. "They are all the leverage I need to get you to do what I want."
"O'Sullivan! This is Agent Scott and Agent Bell with the FBI. Surrender your weapons and let the hostages go. We will make sure that your demands are met, but you need to let the kids and Miss Reagan go."
You could feel the tears running down your cheeks, but you knew you had to be strong for the children. Their parents put you in charge and you, as their teacher, needed to make sure they'd get out safe. “Please Mister O’Sullivan, you got me, let the children go home. They don’t have anything to do with this.”
Your heart was hammering in your throat watching your brother desperately trying to get Andrew to drop the weapon, the ground feeling like it was going to be pulled from underneath you. And here you thought it was going to be a good day today.
Five hours earlier, 9:15 Bluestone Lane Tribeca Café
"So, heard anything from tall, dark and handsome? You looked cute together."
“Erin!”
“Mom! You’re embarrassing her.”
The lawyer grinned into her coffee mug as the three of you sat together for breakfast. "What!? I saw pictures from way back when. It's been more than four years now, just thought maybe you'd have a run in with him again."
"Nope, haven't seen him since before he started training at Quantico and you would know that. I'm practically living with dad and pop again after those idiots living above me wouldn't have smoked weed and forgot to shut off the water."
Nicky only rolled her eyes at her mother trying to play matchmaker – as always. “You should leave Y/N alone. Danny would have a field day if she came home with him.”
“Thank you, Nicky, I knew why you were my favorite niece.” You took a bite from your chocolate croissant. Usually you’d be getting the breakfast sandwich the café was famous for but today they were all out.
“I’m your only niece, so that’s not a hard feat to do.”
“Yet.” You pointed a finger at the younger woman. “And I don’t even know where he is. I’ll not be running after him and use dads resources to find him.”
“All I’m saying is that you should get laid, you can’t just stay a single workaholic forever."
Sending your sister a disapproving look, you could see the disgust on your nieces face. She was old enough to be part of that conversation and already had one boyfriend, yet you knew she was absolutely embarrassed by her mother's choice of breakfast conversation.
"Mom! God! I'll be heading off to work or you'll start talking about dad and yourself." Nicky, so much like Erin grabbed her purse and to-go cup, leaned over to kiss her mother's cheek before she moved next to you. With her arm draped over your shoulder, she leaned in as if to whisper into your ear but still spoke at normal volume. "Don't let her bully you into looking him up. You do you, Auntie, but she's right, you need to get laid."
Slack jawed at her gall, you turned accusatory eyes on the lawyer. "That's definitely on you, Erin. You taught her to be like that."
"Well, she's definitely got that from me and she'd make a great lawyer like that."
Letting out a sigh, you leaned back in your chair.
Damn, they were right.
Quickly apologizing to God under your breath, you try to anchor yourself to your mug. It had been years since you had seen Omar. You had met him outside a bar in the Financial District, after a date had dumped her right before dessert, telling her she wasn’t worth his time.
“He’s a dick, he wasn’t going to know what to do with you anyway.”
You sat together at the bar and talked about random stuff – friends, hobbies, only things that wouldn’t compromise him as you later found out he was undercover for the DEA.
“You’re quiet, what are you thinking about?”
Blinking, you watched your sister with a small, wistful smile, something she had seen so often when you had gone out to have breakfast with Nicky and her every Saturday morning. “Nothing.” You shrugged your shoulders, but the secret smile that barely turned up the corners of your mouth was still there and the lawyer knew that one, she had seen it often enough.
Erin took a sip from her coffee, narrowing her eyes at you. “Don’t give me that shit, Y/N. It’s Tall, Dark and Handsome isn’t it?”
“Maybe.” You admitted quietly, looking down at your fingers, busy playing with the white napkin under your croissant.
“You should get Eddie to look for him, maybe he’s in town.”
Shaking your head vigorously. “No, I’ll not be looking for him. We would have seen each other, probably...maybe.”
“New York is huge, you think you’d just walk down Broadway and bam! There he is? Y/N, I can assure you, that’s not how it works.” She laughs, knowing all about it with her ex-husband Jack. “You want him, you need to look for him, he’s not just going to turn up if you snap your fingers.”
“Well, maybe I don’t want to look for him, maybe it wasn’t meant to be if I haven’t run into him by now. Or maybe he’s somewhere in D.C., happily married with 1.93 kids, living in the suburbs and chasing the bad guys.”
Chuckling, the lawyer shook her head at you. “You got it all figured out now, huh? Maybe he’s still single, thinking about that maybe with you. He was really nice when he came around for lunch that day.”
“Ugh, don’t remind me, Eddie wouldn’t shut up about him for a week straight.” Just then your phone chimed, letting you know that you needed to get ready to get to your Junior High class for their field trip to the museum. You would meet them together with their parents right in front of the museum. “Shit, I’m late! Sorry Erin, I got to head off.”
“We’re not done talking about him!” She called after you as you raced out of the cafe to the next Metro station.
An hour and a half later you remind your seventh grade students to be nice and listen closely to the lady showing you around the National History Museum. “There’s going to be a test on Monday next week, so you guys should take notes on all of this.”
A groan ripped through the hall and I knew they hated me for this. “But Miss Reagan, you said we could have fun today.” Jimmy calls from the back, a frown on his cute face.
Giggling, you shook your head. They were still thinking it was just going to stay easier from there on out. “I did, but it doesn’t mean you guys can slack off on your school work. This is going to help you with your Science project.”
Groans, followed by sighs from your students were the end of that conversation. You and the group of thirteen-year-olds followed Mrs. Langdon as she talked about the museum, which exhibitions had already been part of the building and what was waiting for the boys and girls of Lower Manhattan Middle School. They were in the Early Adolescence stage and it was absolutely normal for them to act like that. With Nicky, Jack and Sean you had been exposed to that stage early on and you loved them for it.
You entered the Saurichian Hall of the museum, awed by the skeletons, the hairs on your arms starting to raise from the goosebumps at the imagination of having lived back in time, 66 millennia’s ago. But somehow, it wasn’t the only thing that gave you the shivers. At the entrance of the museum you had seen a guy, dressed like everyone else. But you had been around police your whole life and listened to your bothers to know that something was definitely wrong with him. His head was down but you saw his eyes darting about like he was searching for something – or someone.
Getting to the next section, you slightly turned your head away from your students excitingly listening to the tales of each dinosaur exhibited at the museum.
There he was again, the backpack slung low on his shoulders and it looked like he was sweating. Was he sick and needed help? If so, wouldn’t he have asked the people at the front desk or even stayed at home.
Danny had always told you to be vigilant about suspicious people roaming about and this guy fit the description. Should you text Danny or Jamie? They were probably busy with their cases and if he was just a creep you’d make a fool out of yourself and maybe your dad in extension.
Police Commissioner’s daughter accuses visitor at the National History Museum to be a creep and makes a laughing stock out of the Reagan family.
Now that would be the headline of the week.
Turning back to listen to Mrs. Langdon and your students with a sigh you missed him pulling out a gun from under his jacket, pointing it at your back before slightly lifting it up and pulling the trigger.
11:40, Joint Operations Center
“Alright guys, we've got a hostage situation at the National History Museum. Twenty-two students from LoMa Middle School and their teacher. This is high profile. Detective Reagan with the NYPD called it in about fifteen minutes ago.” ASAC Jubal Valentine’s voice rang out through the JOC. He motioned to Elise, one of the Analysts to put every information on the screens. “This is Y/N Reagan, she’s a teacher at the school and also the daughter of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan.”
Your picture popped up on the screens, a happy smile on your face as you sat together with your father and your brother Jamie at a city function.
“You know, now that I’m done with my trainee-ship as teacher, we could make it official. Dad wants me to tag along at this function or other and I’d like to take you as my plus one.” You smiled at him, your arms slung around his neck as you lounged together on his bed.
Omar ran his fingers from your shoulder to your elbow and up again. He loved the feeling of your soft skin under his hands, slightly roughed from the army. “It would be nice, I’d love to finally show you off to my family as well. Erin has been nagging me like a hen to know who the guy is making me smile all day.” He smiled, nuzzling her neck and listening to her giggles as his nose and beard rubbed up and down against that point where her neck met her shoulder.
"I'd like that. I bet your sister isn't the only one nagging." He chuckled, burrowing closer and pushing his lower half against yours earning a soft groan from you.
Your fingers raked over his head, feeling the short cropped hair tickle the palm of your hands. “Pop and dad are already giving me those penetrative looks, you know the ones where they are acting like cops and trying to read a suspects thoughts.”
Closing his eyes, the former army ranger breathed in your scent. It was the one thing that grounded him on days his mind sent him back to Iraq. “From what you told me I’m more afraid of your brother, not your father and grandpa.”
Omar moved next to Maggie, a soft Shit leaving his lips as his eyes swept over the screens. It had been a few years since he’d last seen you, only a few days short of leaving for his training at Quantico. Seeing your face, tear track staining your cheeks with the suspect pressing his gun to your head.
The brunette watched her partner, the fingers of his left hand anxiously playing with his ring. A sign that he was nervous. A sign Maggie had learned in the beginning when they first were partnered up.
“You know her?”
He sighed, “We, ugh, we dated for a while before, before I went into training. I...broke it off, because I thought she’d be better off without me.”
“Gosh, OA.” Maggie murmured, scratching a fingernail along her eyebrow thoughtfully. She knew her partner had been in relationships before – he was Muslim, not a virginal saint, but she had never seen him this distraught or anxious.
It was clear as day that you were still important to him and it took everything in him to not run out the door and drive off toward the museum.
"What do we have on the suspect?" Isobel questioned, coming to stand next to her 2nd in charge.
"Suspect is 40 year old Andrew O'Sullivan, former police officer with the NYPD, 54th Precinct and bomb specialist with the Marines. Detective Daniel Reagan, Y/N’s older brother was part of the investigation against him.” Kelly Moran, an analyst at the JOC spoke up, tapping hastily on his keyboard and sending the pictures of their suspect to the bigger screens. “He took drugs from evidence and tried to sell it on the street. O’Sullivan needed it for his daughter, she has leukemia and he was going to take the money to pay for her treatments.”
The analyst pressed a key to show the picture of a little girl, maybe ten years old, grinning at the camera. “Lena O’Sullivan, she”
“His daughter died two days ago, that’s why he’s doing it. He wanted to save her from it and we took the money that would pay for her treatment. Andrew has been angry with me for a while and called me after Lena died.” A new voice sounded from behind them, strong and authoritative, yet they could all hear the pain laced into his words. “He has my sister and if you guys don’t get a move on, Andrew is going to kill them all.” Detective Daniel Reagan had made his way to the JOC, knowing he couldn’t make a move against O’Sullivan without the people of the FBI. You were his little sister and he’d be damned just sitting around at the precinct when he needed to get you to safety. More so when Erin would have his head for being the reason the former officer had you and your kids as hostages.

The price of life
Jamie Reagan x daughter!reader
summary - when you get shot by an ex cop, you feel guilty for the justice that was brought on him
warnings - mentions of murder, blood, shooting, and guns. this is somewhat based of off season 1 episode 15 so you'll most likely understand it better if you watch the episode. Though most factors arent included in the episode and likewise. And if you see me put their names in front of quotes thats so you dont get confused.
-----------------------------------------
"Whats the next question" your grandpa Frank asks. You and frank are at the park eating hotdogs while you're doing a school presentation on him and his job. "Do you regret some things that have happened on the job?" You say. Pretty hesitant because you might've already known the answer to that, considering what happened to your uncle Joe. Frank takes a deep breath to gather his thoughts while staring off into space. "I have a few. When you sign up to do the things i do. Along with your dad jamie and uncle danny, some things take a toll on you. Mentally. Physically." You look down, trying to avoid the uncomfortable eye contact.. "There are things i regret i admit that. But i dont regret anything that has brought you guys into my life", he says while lifting your chin and smiling. You plaster a sad but meaningful smile on your face. "What else you got for me kid." Frank says while taking a bite out of his fry. You chuckle and look at your paper.
"So, how was i? Too detailed? Not enough details?" Frank asks while walking you to your apartment complex. Jamie had just gotten home. Its nearly dark out when you hear tires screech on the road. "You were percectly fi-" you're cut off by frank taking you to the ground, and sound of gunshots, and a burning feeling in your chest and leg. The dark SUV drifted off before you could process what happened. "Are you okay??" Frank asks while his security team asks the same of him. "Yeah" you faintly whisper with a rasp in your voice. Franks face is plain until he looks at your chest. You look down too and see blood pooling. Frank takes his hands and puts them on your wound making you flinch and groan. "You're gonna be okay y/n, just listen to the sound of my voice", is all you hear while your vision gets blurred and you slowly lose consciousness.
You wake up in the hospital with all the reagans surrounding you. "Y/n". Jamie says your name as he's sitting on a chair beside your hospital bed. You groan as you try to shift positions. "Agh, what happened". Jamie puts a hand on your shoulder "just lay down, relax." "You were shot y/n. In the chest and leg." Danny says. Linda is beside you too, rubbing your arm. She's always been like a mother to you so it was actually quite comforting, which was her initial goal. "We're gonna find who did this to you, i promise" frank says while reaching into his coat pocket to make some calls. He walks out of the room and starts talking to somebody on the phone. "Let me know if you need anything, and i mean anything".."thank you aunt erin" you say while weakly smiling. Your father, Jamie, kisses you on the forehead and leaves the room.
Its been 2 weeks and you're finally getting discharged. Feeling nothing but relief to sleep in your own bed again, eating seasoned foods that aren't bland. You order your dad to stop by the market to get you some jell-o. You've became addicted to it in the hospital and craved more. He agreed after you used your crippled status as a defeating moment. "Take it easy okay?" Jamie says as you make your way on the wheelchair. "I'll be fine I swear.". As you leave the hospital you can sense theres more than your additional family member outside waiting for you, and you were right. Frank ordered officers to 1, take you home and 2, stand gaurd outside of your apartment building. He'd offered you come stay at his home but you just wanted to lay in your bed. Jamie helped you into the back of the car. Your cast on your leg making it extra hard. He hands you your crutches and goes into the driver seat, telling frank we'll be just fine without the escort home.
You arrive home and eddie janko is there. You're crutches are giving you a hard time so she made it easier for you and met you half way. "Hiiii!!!" You say excited. Eddie was like another mother to you so seeing her after what happened instantly made you 1000x better. "Aww i heard about what happened, are you okayy".."yeah i will be. Thank you for coming though I've been wanting to see you" you say while smiling ear to ear, happy your second favorite person in the world is there with you. "Anything for you".."Cmon sweetie lets go inside" jamie says, worried your arms might give out relying on those crutches. You make it up the elevator to your home and head straight for the stairs. You freeze and stare at them in defeat. "Uh dad".."yeah?" He says while closing and locking the door. "Can i get some help". He looks at you and starts to laugh under his breath at the fact that you completely forgot you had stairs. He lifts you up bridal style and takes you up to your room.
Its sunday and you're getting ready for sunday dinner over franks place. You're trying to put on some pants and slide them over your cast but you're having a hell of a hard time. Eddie knocks on your door. "You need help with that?".."yes. Please. Im getting hot and stressed" while you let out a tired chuckle. "Ive had so many casts this is like muscle memory for me." Eddie says while kneeling and smiling. "Thank you for being here. I really appreciate it. Im glad my dad doesnt have to help me all by himself."..."of course. And i want you to know im not just doing this for your dad im doing it for you too. You both need a break it looks like"..."yeah you got that right" you say while laughing and eddie joins in. "Hey you guys ready to go?" Jamie walks in with your shoes and crutches. "Yeah dad lets go".
You arrive at franks place and is greeted like a lost puppy. You dont know how to feel about it but you were just shot twice so you let it slide for now. You guys are sitting at the table eating when your uncle danny mentions the person who shot you. Danny - "well, thank God the person who shot you is no longer in the streets" Y/n - "you guys arrested him? Why did nobody tell me?" You say while smiling. Danny - "well... we didnt exactly arrest him" y/n - "what do you mean?... you killed him?" Danny - "we seen the shot and took it y/n." Y/n - "right but why." Henry - "y/n he shot you. Did you expect them to just let him live" y/n - "no but it was the right thing to do!" You say while your voice shakes and cracks. Danny - "he shot you y/n!! And who knows who else he was thinkin about killing! Mind you, you arent the only one in new york he could've had his eyes on!" Y/n - "Yeah! I know that but you dont go around killing people in my name! I lived! And his life doesnt substitute for mine even if i didnt!!" You yell and grab your crutches to walk out. "Y/n!" Jamie yells after you while you leave to go sit in the living room. "She's right ya know" frank says as he takes a spoonfull of food in his mouth.
You refuse to talk to anyone and tell jamie to take you home. He does as he's asked to prevent any other arguing.
You're sitting in bed, blaming yourself for your shooters death when jamie comes in with the rest of your dinner you left. "Thank you" you smile and take the plate and spoon. Jamie sits next to you and put his arm around you. "Its not your fault you know"..."how"..."your uncle danny made a decision. Maybe that decision wasn't his to make but he made it. And he got a killer off the streets because of it. We didn't tell you this but, that guy, he was a killer. He took people away from their families. Mothers, fathers, daughters. People like that have no humanity. No guilt. No respect. Uncle danny made the decision that one life would save hundreds more. The life of the victims, the life of the cops who work the case, and the life of the families. Maybe it was the right decision maybe it wasn't. Who are we to decide that. But one thing i do know is that this is not your fault and it will never be your fault. Its his for putting a price on life.". You nod and look up at him. "Thank you dad" while he kisses your forehead. He takes a spoon of your food and eats it. "This is really good". You both laugh and look at eachother while he rests his head on the top of yours. "I love you y/n" "i love you too"

I redid the end 3 times. Hope it was worth it.

By the time you got home that morning, you were completely exhausted. You dropped your bag by the front door, not caring where it landed. Then your boots followed quickly after, just like your bag not caring where they ended up. Walking over and throwing yourself over the back of the couch, pulling the blanket down over you as you went. You just let the couch swallow you up. As you were on the cusp of falling asleep, your phone starts going off. You shift to pull your phone out of your pocket, looking at the screen before answering it.
“You better be dying or dead.”
“Well good morning to you too Sunshine.”
“Jamie, it’s not a good time right now.” You let out a sigh. “What did you need?”
“I was going to see if you wanted to get breakfast before both of us went to work. I also wanted to see how the night shift went.”
“Oh, it was great.” Sarcasm was dripping from your mouth.
“Wow. Really?”
“Well, if you call getting myself suspended great, then I had a grand ol’ time.”
“Wait, are you serious?”
“Jamie, I’m tired and I don’t want to talk about this right now.”
“Well either you come with me to breakfast willingly, or I will come into your house and drag your ass out kicking and screaming. What’s it gonna be?”
“I hate you, and I want my key back.”
“I know you do. Yeah, good luck getting the key from me, you will have to pry it from my cold dead hands.” He let out a laugh. “I’ll be there in about five minutes to get you. So, hurry up.”
You hung up the phone, grunting as you got up from your couch and throwing your blanket down. You quickly went to your room to change out of your work clothes. You knew Jamie wasn’t joking when he said he would drag you out. He has done it before; he will do it again. You changed into a pair of joggers and a FDNY shirt just to mess with him. You were pulling on your socks when you heard your front door open and Jamie yelling.
“Y/n!” There was a slight pause, before you heard him stumble and curse. “Son of a bitch. Y/n, why didn’t you pick up your damn shoes. Y/n! Don’t make me have to come find you.”
You just laid back on your bed, closing your eyes and rubbing your hands over your face. You heard footsteps heading towards your room, they stopped in your doorway for a second before they came to a stop in front of you.
“You are not wearing that to breakfast.”
You open up your eyes to see him pointing to your shirt. You just closed your eyes and let out another sigh.
“Then I’m not going.” You crossed your arms like a child who was pouting.
You heard him walk away for a second, thinking you had won. Which was a short-lived dream when he came back, he pulled you up into a sitting position, causing you to let out a squeal and open your eyes. Only to have him pulling a hoodie over your head.
“Jamison! Stop it!” You struggled against him, to no avail. Once it was on you looked up at him, with an angry pout. “I am not a child.”
“Then quit acting like one.” He laughed at you.
You stood up and walked out of your room towards the front door. As you did, you looked down at the hoodie. It was Jamie’s old Harvard sweater that he got when he had gotten accepted. He lent it to you one day when you forgot your jacket, and it just never found its way back to him. He never asked for it back, so you just held onto it. At this point if he did ask for it back you wouldn’t be able to give it back.
The two of you left your house and got into Jamie’s car. There wasn’t much conversation, just comfortable silence. You were tired enough that you had started dozing off on the way. Once he pulled up to the curb of your favorite breakfast spot you were completely out. Jamie got out and walked to the passenger side door, slowly opening it not to wake you.
After all of these years, you really should have known better than to fall asleep around Jamie or any of the Reagan siblings for that matter. Jamie leaned in slightly and started screaming and shaking you. Your eyes shot open, screaming yourself. You looked over to see Jamie laughing so hard as you are clutching your chest.
“You’re an ass.”
“Oh, that was so funny.” He got out in between laughs.
He was hunched over with his hands on his knees, not caring that there was quite a few people staring at you. You got out of the car and pushed Jamie, knocking him on his ass.
“Hey!” You stood there just looking down at him. “You just assaulted a police officer ma’am.” He was up in a second.
“You have been a police officer all of two seconds.” You cocked your eyebrow at him. “Besides you wouldn’t arrest your best friend.”
“Are you sure about that?” He was right in your face, trying so hard not to smile.
“Yep.”
“How so?”
“I have friends in high and low places buddy. You don’t want to mess with me.”
“You’re such a dork.” He smile breaking out along with a chuckle. “Come on, let’s go eat and talk about how you got suspended.” He threw his arm over your shoulder as he pulled you into the diner.
Diana greeted you as you both walked into the diner.
“If it isn’t my two favorite troublemakers.” She had a big grin on her face.
“I’m not the troublemaker, she is.” Jamie pointed at you as the two of you sat down.
“What? I am not. You are a hundred percent the troublemaker out of the two of us.”
“No, you are. I’m not the one who got suspended.” He had a big grin on his face.
“What!?”
You gave Jamie the dirtiest look you have ever given anyone. You could feel her eyes starring you down, and it is not a feeling you want to have. Ever since you were young, Diana has been a big part of your lives. The two of you would come in here quite a bit with your families or even just each other. She practically watched the both of you grow up.
“Dude. Why would you say that in front of her?” You whispered harshly. Your eyes haven’t left Jamie’s, in fear of what would happen if you looked over to Diana.
“Y/n, what happened?” You looked up at her slowly, with a shy grin on your face.
“I punched another paramedic in the face.” You said quietly before looking down. “Then I slammed him into the back door of the truck.”
“Woah! What did he do to piss you off?”
“Why would you do that?” She asked while hitting you in the arm.
“Ow! We had a call for a car accident right at the end of our shift. He wanted to take a child away from his mother right after it all happened. He was going to traumatize that poor kid. Then he had the audacity to bring up my mother, then I flipped out on him. I punched him in the face and slammed him up against the back of the truck. Then I got suspended, and I can’t return to work until I take an anger management class.”
“Well then he deserved it.” Diana put her hand on your shoulder. “You don’t do that to a child, and you sure as hell don’t bring up someone’s past trauma.”
“What’s going to happen to him?” Jamie questioned you.
“Tyler texted me earlier saying that he was suspended for a day or some bullshit like that. I don’t know, I’m just hoping I never have to work with him again.”
“That is stupid, he should have to take a class on how to be a decent human.”
“That is absolute bullshit.” Jamie rubbed his hands down his face.
“Yeah, but it is what it is.” You just shrugged. “Can’t take it back now. Then again, I don’t think I would if I could.”
After that, Diana took your order and left the two of you to talk. The two of you sat there for just over an hour, before Jamie had to head into work. After paying and saying a quick goodbye to Diana, the two of you left. Jamie walked around to the driver-side of his car, while you looked around at the busy street. Somehow you aren’t as tired as you were before. You need to clear your head on the early morning events, and there was really only one place you could do that.
“Hey, I think I’m gonna walk.”
“What? Y/n you look like you’re going to pass out. I’m not gonna let you walk home.” He gave you a look like you were crazy.
“I’m fine Jamie. Plus, I’m not going home just yet.”
“Where are you going?” He came back around and stopped in front of you.
“I need to think for a little while, so I’m gonna go visit my mom.” Jamie quickly pulled you into a tight hug.
“What’s going on in that head of yours?”
“I don’t know, I just need to talk to her.” You stood there for a moment longer before you broke the hug.
“Alright, come on. Go to work.”
“I can drop you off.”
“No, I’ll be fine. Besides, you don’t want to be late on your first day, do you?”
“No, I don’t.” He looked at you, with his signature smirk.
“What?”
“Nothing. Look, text me when you get there and…”
“And when I leave, and then when I get home. Ya’ know sometimes it’s like she’s still alive and is just using you as a vessel to make sure I’m okay.”
“Hey, I’m not that bad.” He looked at you like he was a little offended. “I just want you to be safe, I would still be doing this if she was still here.”
“I know. You have been protecting me since we were seventeen. Hell, maybe even before that and I was just too stubborn to notice.”
“Yeah, you were.”
“Hey!” You went to hit him in the arm, he was quickly able to dodge your hand before it made contact. He moved to the front of his car. “Get out of here, before I personally call the commissioner and tell him that one of his officers is causing as scene instead of going into work.”
“You wouldn’t.” He narrowed his eyes at you.
“Try me.” You pulled your phone out of your pocket, holding it up and waving it back and forth.
“Umm… Y/n?”
He pointed to your phone; you gave him a confused look before looking at your phone.
“Speak of the devil.”
You quickly looked back at him before answering.
“Hello, Commissioner Reagan.”
“Y/n, we have talked about this. Call me Frank.”
“Sorry Frank, how are you?”
“I am doing good. How are you?”
“Funny you should ask because I was just talking about you.”
“Oh, to who?”
“One of your officers, who is bound to be late for his first day of work if he doesn’t leave me alone.” You had a smirk on your face, while Jamie gave you an annoyed look.
“Can you hand the phone to Officer Reagan.”
“Sure.” You walked over to Jamie. “He would like to talk to you.”
He slowly took the phone and put it to his ear.
“Hello.”
You watched as the conversation unfolded. Jamie was just nodding his head and saying “Yes, Sir.” Soon he handed you the phone back.
“I have to go brat. Text me, call me if you need anything, okay?” He pulled you into another quick hug before heading to get into his car.
“I will. Bye.”
“Bye.”
Once he was gone, you quickly turned your attention to your phone.
“So, what’s going on Frank?”
“Well, I was just wondering how you were doing this morning.”
“You talked to Rourke didn’t you.”
“I may have.” You rolled your eyes.
“Frank, I really don’t want to get into this. I’m sure you got all of this information from Rourke but, Ryan pissed me off and now I’m suspended until I take an anger management class. It happened and now I have to deal with the consequences of my actions.”
“I know what happened, I’m still wondering how you are doing. Which you still haven’t answered by the way.”
“I’m fine.”
“Y/n, I have known you long enough to know when you aren’t telling me the truth.”
“Frank, I appreciate you checking up on me, but I am not one of your kids that you have to check up on when something pops up, okay. I’m a big girl, I can take care of myself. I have been doing that for a long time, longer than you probably realize.”
“I know that. You are a strong person. I just…” You cut him off.
“I have to go. I have things that I have to deal with. I will talk to you later.”
“Okay. Bye kiddo.”
As soon as you hung up the phone, you felt like a complete ass. Frank has been there for you more times than you could count. He was just being the friend to you that he always has been. This is the man that helped you get through things when your own father couldn’t. He welcomed you into his home and his family all those years ago and you just threw it back in his face.
“Fuck.”
You haled a cab, then you made your way to the cemetery. When you found your mom, you sat down next to her. You pulled your legs up and wrapped your arms around them. You just sat there for a little while not speaking.
“Hi mom. I really fucked up big this time. I got suspended because some jackass decided that it would be a clever idea to take a child away from his mother right after a car accident. He also brought up you and I lost it on him. I’m honestly surprised that I held back. Then I got a call from Frank, he was just trying to check up on me and I took it out on him. I know I shouldn’t have but I did.”
You had tears forming in your eyes, threatening to fall at any second. You looked up to the sky, before leaning back to lay on the grass. You laid there for a little while just talking to her about other things that were going on. You also tried to figure out a way to apologize to Frank. After a few hours of sitting there, you said your goodbyes to her and got up and went to get another cab.
You had the cab drop you off at a store, so you could pick up the ingredients for your mother’s cheesecake, that you know Frank loves. When you got everything home, you got to work. After it was finished baking, you let it cool while you lay down on the couch to take a long-awaited nap.
When you woke up you had quite a few missed calls and unread text messages. Most of them were from Jamie, which you should have expected since you didn’t text him when you got to or left the cemetery. There was also a couple of missed calls from your father and a text from Erin.
You decided to get the more unpleasant phone call over with first.
“Hello?”
“Hi dad.”
“You wanna tell me what the hell is going on?”
“Excuse you?”
“Y/n, what did you do at work?”
“Ya’know, I had a shitty night, thanks for asking.”
“Seriously, that’s how you’re gonna act right now?
“What do you want me to say? Huh. Do you want me to tell you that I got suspended because some asshole thought it was a good idea to traumatize a child, then bring up my past trauma because he fucking felt like it? Is that what you wanted to hear?”
You were met with silence, which didn’t surprise you at all. Ever since you mother died, he has only ever called to complain or yell at you.
“Y/n…”
“Don’t. Don’t even pretend that you care. I know where I stand in your life. I wasn’t able to help or save mom and now you blame me every chance you can for her death. So why don’t you just stop pretending to care about me. You leave me alone; I will leave you alone.” You hung up the phone, not wanting to deal with him anymore, the sad part is that no matter what if he needed help and called you. You would be there for him, even after all the shit he put you through.
You sent a quick text to Erin, saying:
Y: Sorry Erin. I had a rough night; I was sleeping it off when you texted me. I’m doing okay now. Thanks for checking up on me.
Then you texted Jamie.
Y: Sorry, I’m home and I fell asleep.
J: That’s it…
You have been MIA for five hours and all I get is I fell asleep.
Y: Jamie please don’t do this right now. I already feel like crap. Please don’t make it worse.
Instead of getting a text back, Jamie’s face popped up on your phone. You stared at it for a second before picking it up. You stayed quiet and waited for him to talk first.
“Are you okay? What happened? You seemed to be doing better at breakfast.”
“I’m an asshole, and I am so done with peoples shit.”
“You are not an asshole, and people are stupid.”
“Well, you’re only half wrong. People are stupid, but I am an asshole.”
“Why do you say that?”
“I took my anger out on one of the few people who actually care about me. When all they were doing was making sure I was okay.”
“Y/n you had a bad night, no one is going to hold that against you.”
“That’s not the point Jamie.” You let out a frustrated sigh. “I’m not really in the mood for this right now. I have things I have to get done. I will talk to you later.”
You hung up before he had a chance to talk. Throwing your phone onto the coffee table, ignoring the ringing. You got up and walk back to your kitchen. You pull the cheesecake out of the fridge, making sure it has fully set before wrapping it up to take over to Frank’s.
Before you decided to take it over there, there was a few things you needed to do. The main one being find an anger management class, so you could get it over and done with. Once you were all signed up, you put on some music and started cleaning.
It was about five when you decided to head over to Franks. When you got there you notice the extra vehicles that were there. You almost turned around, but luck wasn’t on your side today. The front door opened as you went to grab your trucks door handle.
“Y/n?”
You looked up to see Danny standing in the doorway. You looked down at your hand and just let it fall from the handle. You heard the door close and footsteps coming towards you. You turned to see Danny leaning on your truck.
“What’s going on slugger?”
“Oh God! Not you too.”
“Come on did you really expect to keep this quiet. Especially around here?” He pointed to the house. “Everyone’s in there talking about it.”
You were just hoping the ground would swallow you up, right there and then. You leaned forward leaning your forehead on the door frame and let out a big sigh.
“I wasn’t expecting everyone to be here when I showed up.” You turned your head to the side to look at him.
“I bet. Well, it’s too late to leave now.” He points to the house, you lifted your head off the truck and looked at the house to see Erin, Henry, Frank, and Jamie looking out the window.
“Of course, it is.” You gave them a quick wave. “Or… You could take this inside to your dad and let him know that I’m sorry and I will call him later.” You had a big smile on your face, as you lifted the cheesecake up into his line of sight.
“Not gonna happen.”
“Ugh.” You dropped the smile and lowered the cheesecake. “It was worth a shot.”
You walked past Danny as he laughed at your reaction. The two of you walked up to the door and it opened just as you got to the top step. Frank was standing there with a smile on his face. Danny slipped inside as you stood on the front step.
“Hi.” All of a sudden felt like you were the shy teenager you used to be all over again.
“Hi.” He just smiled at you. “So are you going to just stand there or are you going to come inside.”
“Actually, I came to apologize for today.”
“You don’t need to do that.”
“Yes, I do. I was a complete asshole to you, and you were just trying to look out for me. I took my anger and frustrations out on you. I am so sorry Frank. I know it won’t fix anything, but I made you this.” You lifted the cheesecake for him to take. “I know you like this one, it’s my mother’s recipe.”
He stepped out onto the step with you and took the cheesecake. What you didn’t expect was for him to pull you into a hug. It was one of those big bear hugs, which cradles your entire existence. The kind of hugs really only dads can give.
“Sweetheart, you have nothing to be sorry for. I know you had a difficult day at work. I shouldn’t have overstepped.”
“No, you didn’t overstep. I should feel so lucky to have someone like you to check on me. I was harsh on you, and you didn’t deserve that.” You pulled back to look at him. “Those hooligans in there don’t know how lucky they have a father that checks up on them when they had a bad day or just to see how life is going.” You pulled away from him as soon as you could feel the tears starting to prick at your eyes. “I should get going.” You started backing away.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
“Umm… Home?”
“Nope. You are going to come inside and enjoy a piece of this” He lifted up the cheesecake. “We will talk for a little while, then you can go home.”
“Frank, I really need to get home.”
“Ten minutes, fifteen tops.” He stepped inside the door. “Come on. You know I’m not going to take no for answer.”
“I… Okay.” You walked into the house, and you were greeted by all of the Reagans.
Turns out fifteen minutes actually means three hours in the Reagan world. You did try to leave a few times, but they somehow convinced you to stay. Now you are finally able to leave the house when Danny and Erin said they needed to head out. Quickly that turned into having a chat at your vehicles, then Jamie came out to leave as well.
“I thought all of you needed to get home.”
“We do, we were just saying goodbye.” Erin was the first to address him.
“Well, you’ve been standing out here for like twenty minutes. You don’t seem to be in a rush to me.”
“Has it really been twenty minutes?” You looked at your watch to see it have been. “Wow…”
“I guess that’s what happens when friends get together.”
Danny wrapped his arm around your shoulders and pulled you towards him. You already knew what was going to happen. You tried to get out of it but you were too slow. Next thing you know he had you in a head lock giving you a noggie.
“DANNY! Let me go!”
All while Erin and Jamie are jus laughing their asses off. You struggled against Danny for a little bit before his phone started going off.
“Aww, saved by the bell Y/n.”
“I hate you. This is why Erin is my favorite Reagan.” You started fixing your hair when Jamie spoke up.
“Hey! I thought I was your favorite.” He looked a little offended.
“Nope. After what you did this morning, you were demoted to fourth.”
“Fourth?! Who are the other two ahead of me?”
“Frank and Henry.” You started thinking about it. “Ya’ know you might actually be lower than fourth. I didn’t factor in Nikki, Linda, Jack, and Shawn. You might actually be like eighth. Butthead over there is nineth.” You pointed over to Danny who was still on the phone.
“Wow, after all I have done for you.” Jamie just shook his head; you shrugged your shoulders.
“It happens.”
Danny turns back to the group. “Alright, now I really have to go. I will see you all later.” He went around and gave you and Erin a hug and Jamie a pat on the shoulder before getting into his Jeep.
“I should be going to, I still need to pick up Nikki and make dinner.” Erin turned to you. “We should get lunch soon.”
“Yeah, I have some free time for the next couple of days. My anger management class isn’t until Friday.”
“Okay. How about Thursday?”
“Sounds like a plan.” You smiled as she stared walking to her car. “Bye.”
“Bye.”
You turned and unlocked your truck. When you opened the door and got in, Jamie had his hand on the top of the door to hold it open.
“You were joking when you said that Erin was your favorite right?”
“No.” You just looked at him with the straightest face you had.
“Really?”
“Why are you sad? Jealous? Angry even?”
“No, I just don’t believe you.”
“Well, believe what you want.” You were close to breaking.
“Y/n. I know you better than anyone, so I know when you are lying to me.”
“Goodbye Jamie.” You shook your head, pulling on the door but he wouldn’t let go.
“I want to hear you say it.”
“Fine. I guess you’re my favorite.”
“I didn’t need the sarcasm but ill take it. Bye Y/n.” He closed the door and walked to his car, he watched as you drove away.
Once you got home things went quickly. You greeted Brian and went to the kitchen and started dinner. He came in to help you, then when it was almost done he set the table. The two of you talked about your days. Then you spent time together and watched t.v. for a while before going to bed. That’s how it was with you too as of late. You have tried to change it, but nothing was working. It was like the two of you fell into this comfortable routine, that neither of you wanted to address. After three years together, you started thinking this is all that it would be.
You hate this feeling.
The feeling of something ending.

Send Off (Bob Floyd x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: You, Bob and the rest of the squad get ready to send your kids off to school and let the shenanigans ensue
"Okay Daddy I'm ready now!" Auggie chirped as he stepped out of the bathroom.
Bob sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Auggie, though he had tried, couldn't quite match his own clothes yet. "C'mere bud," Bob told him.
He went into Auggie's room and dug around in the dresser for a hot minute, pulling out a little white t-shirt and a blue checked flannel to go with Auggie's jeans. "Put this on," Bob told his little mini-me.
"But we're gonna miss the bus!" Auggie chirped again.
"Buddy we've still got plenty of time," Bob assured him.
"What's he buggin about missing the bus?" you asked, poking your head in the door.
"Just a little," Bob answered. "And might I ask why you're up Mrs. Floyd?"
"Bob, I've been taking it easy for three weeks now," you told him, the dishtowel in your hand coming to rest on your ever growing bump. "The only thing that your sister's allowing me to do is eat, sleep, read, watch t.v or use the can."
"Hey, Reagan's been doing this for the last nine years," Bob reminded you with a grin. "Trust me, you don't wanna brush off her advice."
You laughed a little, neither of you having noticed that Auggie had disappeared and come back a minute later. "Daddy I can't brush my teeth."
"Why not buddy?"
"Patrick's parked on the shitter!"
You and Bob both burst out laughing at Auggie's response, but at least three-year-old Patrick had finally gotten the hang of using the bathroom on his own.
You got Auggie's toothbrush and the charcoal and mint toothpaste out of the bathroom and had him scrub his teeth in the kitchen sink before Patrick was done, having just washed his hands. As soon as Auggie's backpack had been packed up, he followed Bob out of the house to wait for the bus.
It wasn't long before the rest of the squad had begun making their way down. Maverick was the first to drop by with Danny and Thomas while Rooster was close behind him with Nicky and Pete.
"You guys get outta the house ok?" Bob asked.
"Never better," Maverick yawned. "These two little demons though, woke Penny and I up at six-thirty while Amelia was doing her makeup in the bathroom."
Bob snickered a little, more so when he noticed Rooster in his black basketball shorts and a mismatched shirt. "You didn't sleep did you?" Bob chuckled.
"I couldn't even a coffee before we left," Rooster groaned. "These two are like bottomless pits......they just wolfed down their cornflakes and called it a day."
Coyote came striding up just a minute later with Paloma and Carla giggling like crazy but the exasperated look on his face saying it all.
"Hair......" he interjected before anyone could say anything. "That's all you've gotta know."
Bob looked over at his giggling nieces whose thick hair had been put into tight cornrows with white and turquoise beads at the end. "How'd you do it?" Bob asked him.
"I don't have a clue," Coyote said, throwing his hands up. "Those two cannot sit for two seconds to save their lives and my mom and my wife are the only ones who can do their hair. But somehow, Daddy did it!!!"
Payback crossed the street with Geneva and Neveah some time later while Mickey trailed along with Isabella in her new dress with a bright sunflower pattern. Hangman came around the back of his house with the twins while Phoenix was the last to arrive with Gabe in tow.
"Holy shit," Hangman groaned, rubbing his hands over his face. "Is it the first day of school already?"
"Unfortunately," Rooster answered.
"God help us all," Natasha said, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Couldn't get the coffee in on time?" Jake asked her.
"This little knucklehead woke up and tried to bring the dog to school with him," Natasha answered. "First time I ever saw Cole jump outta bed in his shorts."
Everyone had a good laugh on the morning shenanigans while everyone had begun taking pictures of the older kids all lined up with their backpacks as they waited for the bus. It felt like forever but finally, the little yellow bus that had the name of their school stenciled on the side, pulled up and let the kids on. All of them waved goodbye to their parents, ready for the first day of school as the bus pulled away down the street.
"Are you crying?" Bob asked Jake.
"No," Jake insisted. "I've got allergies, that's all."
Bob rolled his eyes as everyone dispersed and went back to the house. His father's truck pulled into the driveway to bring Patrick down to the nursery school, where Auggie had gone, leaving you and Bob with the whole day ahead to get the nursery decorated for your daughter.
"What?" you asked when you heard Bob chuckle a little.
"Hangman was crying at the bus stop when Missy and Molly got on the bus," he answered.
"Did he really?"
"Oh yeah," Bob laughed. "Tole me it was allergies."
You both had a good laugh on the matter as you began putting the nursery together and attempting to paint it the way Patrick's nursery school had done. You looked over at your phone, noting the time, but hoping all the same that Auggie and your nieces and nephews were having the time of their lives on their first day of kindergarten.

In which the Inevitable becomes reality pt 1/3
Info: The youngest Reagan has always been protected from the crimes that her family faced, but sometimes being away from it is inevitable
Relationship: Reagan family x reagan reader
Warning: Mentions of school shooting
Series masterlist
Based on early season
Tumblr media
25 year old y/n Reagan was the youngest of Commissioner Frank Reagans kids. Being the youngest her family cared for her deeply. Her life was slightly different than those of her family, being a high school teacher was something she always wanted to do. The family line of cops and army life never appealed to her, so like her sister she steered clear of that workforce. She remembered her beloved deceased brother Joe letting her hold his unloaded gun, and she hated the feel of it. She didn't like the thought of having t put a bullet into someone, even when it was to protect someone else. Y/n thought PE and Biology as well as coached the girls baseball team (one she fought for when she first joined the school) every Wednesday afterschool.
She was closest with her gramps, they often played chess together and many a night Frank would come home from work and see his father and daughter sitting in the living room watching friends ( though if anyone asked Henry would strongly deny it). Her pops often joined her for the coaching sessions before heading back to his where he would cook dinner before she left back to hers.
She was the younger sister that Linda always wished for, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see y/n helping her sister in law around the house or cooking, and Linda always made sure to make time to help y/n get her class room ready for the school year.
Y/n was quiet compared to her older siblings, and because of that Danny had always been overprotective of her. He didn't like her being around cases the family worked on, and often kept her away from the conversations if she could, making dinner conversations of cases short when she was present. Many a time he would meet her for coffee during the week, or bring her some lunch when he had a case that reminded him of her. He made sure that y/n would always text when she was home if she was out late or if a criminal was on the lose.
Jamie had made it a habit to sit down and have drinks with her after a tough day. Despite being there to help her brother, y/n was never told of his day and what lead to him becoming so stressed, which frustrated her but she accepted it none the less.
Being the only two girls of a family of boys, Erin and y/n often spent Sundays doing something together before church and family dinner. Their schedule prevented them from spending much time together so when they could, they would leave for a week, Nikki joining them, and head somewhere they hadn't been before to explore.
Her family always looked after her, and father was no exception. Frank always made sure to check up on her, regardless on what went on that day. He knew the school shootings happening in America effected her, and wanted to make sure that she knew she was safe and nothing would happen to her. He even went so far to make sure that the Reagan family saying 'please don't hurt my family' was drilled in her head. She was well protected and always had someone watching her back.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Reagan family at at the dinner table at Henry and Franks for their weekly Sunday family dinner after church. Y/n sat beside her dad and Erin, picking at her food as she half listened to her family talking about the recent increase of school shootings around the town. Too focused in her own thoughts, she jumped when she was elbowed before glaring at Erin in annoyance.
"Oww, what?" Y/n snapped at her sister before whipping her head to face her dad as he raised a finger in warning.
"Gramps was asking what's wrong with you, your not eating much." Erin stated, tilting her head to the side slightly.
"Sorry Gramps, just thoughts spiraling around my head. Classes have been busy with assessments and we had a practice session today." Y/n explained, watching as her family turned their attention to her, Danny eyeing her with slight concern.
"Teachers have a busy schedule? I always thought they just gave us work and went home to rest." Sean stated causing y/n to laugh slightly.
"Well if you consider grading papers, correcting homework, teaching kids new material, planning classes and making sure that you are all ready for the real world easy, than yeah it's a job for lots of rest." Y/n explained causing Jack to laugh at his brother playfully.
"But compared to dads job it's easy right?" Sean asked, looking towards his aunt.
"Every job is difficult in it's own way Sean, no one has an easier job than anyone else. It may seem like it to you but I'm sure dealing with kids on the daily ain't easy. I mean I only have you and Jack and sometimes I struggle with it." Linda explained to her son.
"So you don't just rest?" Sean asked, second guessing everything he thought.
"God I wish." Y/n stated, stabbing her meat and taking a bite as everyone laughed at her reaction.
"As opposed to your very busy schedule. Everything will work out in the end y/n, your a great teacher and those kids are lucky to have you as their mentor through life." Frank stated, putting a hand on his youngest daughters shoulder as she chuckled lightly.
"Mentor through life, way to be dramatic dad." y/n laughed, taking her glass of wine and taking a sip.
"You seem to forget he's commissioner of police y/n, dramatic is in the job description." Jamie stated and everyone laughed once again.
Y/n shook her head as she laughed with her family, glad to have them around her. She glanced in front of her to see Danny looking at her with a small smile. He winked at her in assurance before taking a bite of his food, and y/n smiled at him before looking down at her plate o continue her own food. Grabbing her glass of wine, she smirked at her pops when he mentioned about needing a rematch on the chess game they had played last week.
"Didn't y/n win that one?" Nikki asked, smirking at y/n who nodded her head in appreciation.
"Nah, I was going easy on her." Henry stated, taking a drink from his own glass.
"Nah, your gramps is just a sore loser, I won fair and square right Jack." Y/n asked, glancing at the boy who had watched their game.
"Right." Jack nodded causing everyone to laugh once again.
----------------------------------------------
The following day y/n was teaching her regular PE class, and she watched the group of students as they started to run laps of the court. Hearing footsteps outside the door, she folded her arms and turned her head to the sound. Deciding to check it our, she made her way over to the door, ready to give out to students ditching class, only to see no one. Squinting her eyes in confusion, Ms. Reagan made her way back into the hall, clapping her hands to gain the students attention.
"Alright guys, grab some balls and were gonna do volleyball. One on one." She announced, grabbing the net full of soft balls before placing it in the middle of the floor, allowing students to grab them and pair up. "The rules are...."
Y/n was interrupted by an echoing bang being heard, causing the students to look around the hall. Hearing it again, closer than before, the students flinch at the sound. Y/n's eyes widened as she realized the sound, the sound of a gun. She looked around the hall before seeing the storage unit, knowing it wasn't exactly spacious but she needed to figure out something before the person responsible for the shots found them. They couldn't stay in the hall it was way too open.
"Alright, everyone be calm, we need to find somewhere to hide, no need to panic, just follow me into the storage unit, keep your heads low, does everyone understand me." Y/n explained slowly, indicating for everyone to crouch down, "Treat it like the ones we practiced. Hid behind anything in there, I will lock and block the door once everyone is in there, it's going to be a tight squeeze but make it work."
Y/n watched the students eyes widen in fear as they realized what was happening. Shushing the students who whimpered, and knowing they didn't have much time to waste, she began pushing students towards the unit. Students began to follow each other and y/n ran towards the door to lock it and grabbed the bag which had held the balls to make it more difficult for the shooter to determine people were present.
Upon making it to the unit she locked the door and ordered students to grab some of the ridiculously heavy gym mats to barricade it, blocking the windows that would risk exposure. She sighed deeply and watched students huddle close to their friends, sliding down the mats to be close to the door.
"Okay guys, I know you have phones on you. I need you to contact those who need to know what's going on and put them on silent. Do not tell anyone where you are hiding, we do not know who or where they are, but they may have someone's phone or be able to track our phones, understood." Y/n whispered sternly, trying to keep everyone, and herself, calm.
Y/n grabbed the laptop left at the side of the storage unit for emergencies and checked to see if any emails was out about what was going on. She knew it was only a matter of time till one, or both, f her brothers would catch wind of what was going on and would make their way to aid, her father would no doubt follow. She just needed to keep her students safe and sane until help arrived.
-------------------------------
Danny sat at his desk as he worked on some paperwork with Jackie after finishing another case. Turning to his computer he began to look at some evidence from labs when something came over the radio.
"School shooting in operation, Location: Local high school, All units available please respond. Armed forces are required." A dispatcher announced causing Danny's eyes to widen in shock before jumping up.
"Danny, what's up?." Jackie asked, concerned for her partners sudden movement as she also got up.
"Y/n teaches there." He responded, grabbing his gun and putting it in it's holster and clipping his badge in a rush before taking his car keys.
"That's where y/n teaches?" Jackie asked, also getting up and grabbing her gun and badge.
"Yep, now let's go." Danny ordered, before rushing out of the office, Jackie rushing to keep up with him.
"Detective Curatola and Detective Reagan on route to shooting." Jackie reported back to dispatch as she got in the car just in time for Danny to speed off, sirens blaring.
--------------------------------------------------
Jamie and officer Renzulli sat in their patrol car, watching the city in the corner while eating their lunch. Jamie bit into his sandwich as he listened to his mentor explain his recent dilemma with his wife before stopping as they heard the car radio cackle to life.
"All available units please respond. School shooting in operation, Location: local high school. Armed forces are required."
"Shit." Jamie cursed, pushing his lunch onto the floor , not caring where it went as he heard the school name.
"What's the stress for Reagan, call us in." Officer Renzulli stated, pointing at the radio as he started the car.
"Officer Reagan and Officer Renzulli available on route." Jamie called into the radio before putting on the sirens and answering his mentors question "My sister works there."
"Erin, isn't she a lawyer."
"No my other sister y/n. Can't we go any faster." Jamie asked, agitated to get there.
"I'm going, I'm going. Don't worry I'm sure she'll be in a safe place, don't schools to training for these type of things."
"Yeah, but you and I both know training is nothing like an actual scenario." Jamie explained, not in the mood to be talking.
"True that." Renzulli agreed, realizing Jamie didn't want to talk any more.
-----------------------------------------------
Frank sat in his office, currently in his latest monthly meeting with the fire commissioner. He loved being commissioner but sometimes these meetings seemed to drag on. He sighed and rubbed his forehead in frustration before his office door opened and Baker came through.
"Baker." Frank stated, looking up at his receptionist.
"Sorry commissioner, emergency within the police districts, dispatch has been asking for any available units to respond to the situation. Said armed forces were required for a school shooting." Baker relayed information to her boss who watched her in thought.
"Oh God." The fire commissioner swore under his breath causing Frank to glance his way before returning his gaze to Baker.
"What school?" He asked, trying to hide the lump formed in his throat."
"The local high school sir." Baker replied, watching as the commissioner took a deep breath and look down, head in his hands.
"Baker, call for a car. I don't need a driver, just the car." Frank ordered softly as he refused to look at anyone.
"Sir?" The woman asked confused, " You can't go, commissioners don't respond to shootings."
"Baker I didn't ask for your input I asked for a car. I need to get there and I don't care how, just find a way." Frank stated sternly, looking ahead of him.
"But sir."
"Baker, my daughter works there and I need to be there to see what's happening, so get me a car and tell them that the commissioner is on his way." Frank ordered, standing up and putting his hands on the table in front of him, looking at her finally.
"Right away sir." Baker responded, knowing no Reagan would take no when it's family involved.
"I'm sorry commissioner but we will need to postpone this meeting." Frank stated, looking at his fellow commissioner as he opened the drawer which contained his gun and badge.
"Don't sweat it sir, I pray for your daughters safety."
"Thank you."
Frank nodded is head at his fellow commissioner and left the office. He sighed in sorrow as thought of his youngest daughter being held hostage in school with a bunch of students under her protection and opted to text her 'y/n, be calm, you will be okay, we will get you and the students out safe'. As the car arrived for him he got into the back before it came to full halt and sat impatiently as they made their way to the scene.

The Girls Next Door-9
)(1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8)
I jerked awake at the sound of glass shattering and Savannah screaming. Jumping from my bed, I ran down the hall. She wasn’t in her bed, my heart started to beat uncontrollably.
“Savannah Grace.....where are you?” I whispered. Searching her room, she wasn’t there. I started to panic. I ran through the  house, calling for her. Tears streaming down my face.
I slammed into a hard body, arms going around me. Instinct kicked in, I started to fight. “(Y/N), you’re safe.....)
Danny was looking into my eyes. “Anna.....I can’t find Anna”) I tried to push away.
“Sean has her. The police are on the way, I’m taking you over to my house.”
XXX
Sean sat on the couch, Anna was curled up in his arms. “Seany, you saved me from the bad man.”
“What bad man?” He questioned, thinking that the little girl had been dreaming.
“The glass brokening woke me up, then there was a bad man in my room. He was trying to get me, but I bitted him. He got in my closet when you ran in.”
Sean sat the little girl on the couch, covering her with a blanket. He pulled out his cell phone calling his dad. He needed to know about the man.

A new crossover WIP coming soonish(?) It's not good for my brain to be binging crime shows like FBI and Blue Bloods🙈
But I'm excited as is my brain😅
Also a shout-out to anybody that didn't know this app before or wants to try:
thequill.app is literally everything you need to write your story. You got manuscripts, space for your research, space for snippets and ideas, space for outtakes, your characters, you can analyze your works as well as set goals on how many words you want to write in a preferred amount of time. Right now it's still for free, but they said they'd make a pricing plan soonish.
So far I'm super happy working with this and wished I'd have found it sooner 🥲
Anyways, I'll be getting back to my WIPs now 😅

I am so upset rn
So I was on my phone, and decided to add a tag to some of my imagines that I forgot to do when I first wrote them.
But somehow, that ended up deleting the entire imagine on 4 of my works. And I don’t know how to get them back, because I wrote them on tumblr, so there is no saved copy I have on my laptop.
If anyone knows how to fix this, let me know. I might try to rewrite them, but I have a terrible memory and I haven’t read them in a while so I can’t remember a lot of what I wrote; especially the Survival Steve Harrington one I wrote like 2-3 years ago now.
I am literally so upset rn, and so pissed.
There are the fics that are not working and I’ll probably take down tomorrow:
- Survival (Steve Harrington x Reader)
- Near Loss (Sonny Carisi x Reagan!Reader)
- Slow Burn (Danny Reagan x Firefighter!Reader) Both Part 1 and Part 2

headcanons for dating Danny Reagan and bring half his age? (maybe a little part about what his family thinks)
Headcanon for Dating Danny Reagan and Being Younger
You had met Danny on an online dating site, which was aimed toward busy professionals
Signing up, you never expected to meet anyone like Danny–you did it for some free meals and a chance to do some networking in your field
Then you stumbled upon Danny’s profile (set up with the help Baez)
The site was full of fake dating profiles, but his was one of the few that seemed genuine, or at least funny enough that it had to be explored further
On your first date, you and Danny sat in the restaurant until close just laughing and talking about different interests
You were about to leave the restaurant when he received a text from Jack, something he was “too old to understand”
Being younger, you acted as a translator before realizing the text was meant to be for one of his friends
“I know you’re a lot younger than me, but do you and your friends text like this?”
“No, I’m still an adult, Danny”
You and Danny started dating immediately but decided against telling his family until things were more serious–he knew how they would feel about him dating after Linda, even more so because you’re just about half his age
Bring Danny to work gatherings or parties was always the best because not only did he bring out the intense cop stories, but everyone also got a kick out of his “back in my day stories”
FIghting over music in the car is a huge thing
“I bet you can’t go one car ride listening to music from the 90s on” you dared, knowing full well that he would put on his classic rock station within minutes
“You know, you look a lot like Donnie Wahlberg from New Kids on the Block….” “Y/N, I’m not that old.”
Danny had been around the block a few times, he knew how to charm you. Flowers before dates, little gifts for no reasons, smoothing talking his way out of everything. He was a pro.
Occasionally Danny would get upset if he saw you posting on Facebook with your younger friends while he was at work. He was a little jealous that you were doing exciting things with your millennial pals instead of him.
Therefore, you proclaimed that every third Saturday of the month was “Danny Reagan is Young Again Day.” Basically, you would just do a bunch of stereotypical millennial things in order to make him feel better about your age gap
You two had been together for five months before he finally asked you to Sunday dinner–and he wasn’t excited for it.
“I promise we will be fine. I love you, no matter what your family thinks of our age gap”
You were going to meet Danny at dinner, since he was finishing up a case. When you arrived, Henry asked if you were one of Nicki’s friends.
It was an awkwardly-endearing start to the night
“So how did you two meet?” “On a dating website.”
To which Jamie would reply, “Man, you really are that old.”
For the most part, dinner went smoothly and it felt like a weight lifted off your chests. The family loved you, pretty much ignored the age difference, and Danny loved you, which were the most important things you could ask for
*I’m starting a campaign where I bullying Danny Reagan but only because I have a crush on him…..This was super fun, even though it took more like six days to write. Requests are still open!!!!*

Just & True — Season: High Stone - Chapter Three
Previously: Chapter One / Chapter Two
Heather's car was approaching her father's house early in the morning with three coffees for Henry, Frank, and her. When she enters the house, she sees her father and grandfather in the kitchen.      "Morning." Heather gives the coffees and sits down with them. Frank looks at his daughter and sees the weight of the cases she is working on, on her. "Long day today?" Even if she was not allowed to talk about this case, Henry was the ex-commissioner, and Frank was the current one, whatever she said would be safe between the three of them. "Indeed. If everything goes as planned, We will not need to go to trial." Heather already testified, so now she had to wait and see what the Judge will decide. Henry liked to talk about cases with his grandchildren. He gave them advice, asked questions about their case, showing that he was interested in their work. "And what do you think the verdict will be?", "Based on the evidence, the case, and the witnesses, he is guilty. He did not do the smart choice by doing a song about it and putting every detail of the murder in a rap song." Henry scoffed and took a sip of his coffee. Heather looks at her watch and stands up. "I have to go, but I will be there tonight for dinner."      She hugs her father and grandfather and leaves the house.
District Attorney, Erin Boyle was standing in a court, holding up vinyl and reading its content on the back of it.      "Footsteps on an empty street, who you think you gonna meet? Science dropped when my nine popped, I tanned that G on the back of his head, then I sparked his ass twice, made sure he was dead."      The courtroom erupted in laughter when District Attorney Erin Boyle finished. Heather looked at the people surrounding her and sighed. "Your Honor, all due respect to Ms. Boyle's rapping skills, we object. She is quoting from a hit song my client wrote, not a confession." The defense attorney stood up as he spoke his objection. "Your Honor, it is the same thing. The defendant releases a song under the name Chuck McMurda, explicitly taking credit for the shooting of Anthony "Science" Reynolds on West 134th Street on February 2." Pleaded Erin."Haven't you ever heard of artistic license? You are confusing the artist with the crime he is describing." The defense attorney was trying to humiliate Erin, taking account of the audience behind him. "The defendant was in dispute with the victim. Witnesses place him in the vicinity of the shooting. We found the gun in his apartment." Recalls Erin, trying to prove her point. "Someone else put it there. It is not just my client's prints on it.", "There were details in that song that only the killer could have known." Erin did not understand how no one, including the judge, could not see that he was guilty, he was not even trying to deny it, he was proud of this song, bragging about it.      The Judge sighs, "Let's have a sidebar. Approach.", "Judge," starts the defense attorney, "allowing this in as evidence sets a dangerous precedent." The Judge looks at Erin, "Ms. Boyle, I do not disagree. What about the First Amendment?", "No one denies the defendant free speech. We are just asking for the right to include as public admission of guilt in the case."Maintained Erin. "And without it, most of your evidence is entirely circumstantial. You have no witnesses, so you are using a song to try to tie the rest of your case together." Erin looks at the Defense Attorney and shakes her head, then looks back at the judge. "I do need to see more, Ms. Boyle. Otherwise, I am inclined to support the motion to dismiss this case before it goes to trial." Orders the Judge. Erin and the Defense Attorney leaves the sidebar, dismissing the case for now.      The defendant looks at the audience where his friends are and smiles, Heather sighs. This was not good.
When Heather got out of the courtroom, her phone rang, when she looked at the screen it was Eddie Janko, Jamie's partner.
"Yes. -Heather, you should come to the 12 precinct. -What's wrong? -Jamie is in trouble. -I am on my way."
Erin Boyle reaches Heather. "Detective—," "This will have to be another time, my brother needs me.", "Yes. I know. That is what I want to talk to you about. Come here." Erin opens the door of a room, they both get in. "One of my colleagues gave me this video. You should take a look at it." Erin plays the video and hands her phone to Heather. The video shows Jamie stopping a man on a bicycle, the man falls to the ground, unconscious. The video stops, Heather looks at Erin and takes a deep breath. "How bad is it?", "Your family's name is the target."
Heather arrived at the 12 precinct, she spots Eddie and goes to her. "Where is he?", "I am here." Heather turns around and sees Jamie. "Are you okay?", "No, I am not, Heather. I did not do anything.", "We will talk about this somewhere else. Let's go."      Another detective arrives with his partner, looking pissed. "Ms. Reagan." Heather turns around. "Yes?", "What do you think you are doing? This is my case!", "Not anymore." Jamie looks at his sister, confused. "What is he talking about?", "I am the detective lead on this case. Moreover, if you have a problem with that, consult the Mayor. It is his order. Let's go." The three of them heads to the Midtown South Precinct where Heather works.
Heather leads them to an interrogation room and closes the door behind her. "Okay. Tell me what happened.", "Okay well, there was this protest led by Reverend Potter and Gerry Guerrero, civil rights attorney.", "Great. They both hate our family. Keep going."
Flashback
Reverend Potter was holding a speaker, leading the Protestors. "It is time to end the abuse! Stop police brutality! What do we want?" The protestors screamed "Justice!" back. The Reverend added, "When do we want it?", "Now!" Scream back the protestors, once again.
NYPD police officers were surrounding the Police Plaza, forbidding the Protestors to reach it, Jamie and Eddie were one of them. "I thought they were supposed to stay on the walkways." Ranted Eddie. "They are, but they are looking for trouble." Answers Jamie, then adds, "and headlines. The right to protest, Eddie. As American as apple pie and bitching about taxes." Eddie smiles, then says in a further statement, "but we are not the bad guys." Jamie nods, "You are preaching to the choir. So is Reverend Potter."      It was Civil Rights Attorney's turn to take his speaker, "we are sending a message to those in power! Whose streets?", "Our streets!", "Whose streets?", "Our streets!", "Whose streets?", "Our streets!"      "Who is the other guy with the bullhorn?" Wonders Eddie. "That is Gerry Guerrero, civil rights attorney. Suing the NYPD in half a dozen cases. Not a favorite of the Commissioner's."      The protestors approached the police officers who were blocking the 1PP. Jamie puts his hands in front of him to stop them. "Your people need to be over the walkways, Reverend.", Guerrero does not let the Reverend answers, and adds, "uh, Officer; we have permits.", "Not to block a government plaza. These cars need to move in case of an emergency." Clarifies Jamie. Eddie starts to move and shows the Protestors to move, "folks, behind the barricade, please."
End of flashback.
"Then what happens?" Demands Heather. "A fight started on the side, some other police officers tried to stop it, Reverend Potter asked if someone was videotaping it, turning it into police brutality. I told them to get behind the barricade, and back up if any of them got too close to the ongoing fight or the plaza.", "So you did not see what happened with the accident?", "No.", "Okay." Heather was writing everything down.      "Jamie, what happened then?", "I saw a woman and her son. Apparently, she wanted to join the Protestors. I told her she could not stay here, that she should go back behind the barricades, the woman said she wanted to join the group, I added that this was a government plaza and that it was off-limits for the moment.", "Then?", "Then I saw a man arriving with his bicycle, he was going to hurt the child, so I called him out."
Flashback.
"Hey. Excuse—hey, slow down! Hey! Sir! Sir!." The man did not listen to Jamie. Jamie grabbed the bicycle, lifted it a little bit, making the man fall to the ground. Jamie went to him, "sir. Hey, talk to me." Many people were filming what was happening with their phones, Eddie heard Jamie screams, she turned around and went to him. Jamie looks at another police officer, "call a bus. We need a bus." The police officer takes his PA and calls the bus as Jamie demanded.      Reverend Potter made the situation worse when he added, "this man needs immediate medical attention. You see that?" A
Protestor approached, "dude just belted that dude for no reason.", "No, that is not what happened. He was about the run into a woman and a kid." Jamie looks up at Eddie, "you saw, right, Eddie?" Eddie shakes her head, "no, I was over there."
End of flashback.
"Then Guerrero asked to see my badge number and my name; then he realized that I was a Reagan and smiled.", "Eddie, you did not see anything that happened?" Demands Heather one more time. "No, I did not.", "Okay. Well you told me that people were filming what happened, we just need to find out who was there and we will have witnesses.", "Heather, they were there to protest against us, do you think they will be witnesses to defend my case?"
Heather was in the office of Frank with Lieutenant Sid Gormley, Deputy Commissioner Garett Moore, and Detective Abigail Baker. They were watching the tv news where Reverand Potter and Civil Rights Attorney Guerrero were making a press conference about what happened with Jamie. "The victim of this unprovoked assault is still unconscious in the intensive care unit. We do not know how long he will be there.", "And for the record, the officer responsible is one Jamie Reagan." Adds Guerrero, making the crowd groan and boo. "That is the brother of Detective Danny Reagan and Heather Reagan who were the subjects of numerous brutality complaints themselves.", "Yeah, and the three of them are the children of the police commissioner. Ladies and gentlemen, this city used to have crime families called Bonanno, Gambino, Colombo, well, now we have the Reagans!"      "They are good at what they do." States Garett. "They are going after my family." Remarks Frank. Heather goes to the window and watches outside, arms crossed. "And getting your attention and getting under your skin, which is exactly what—," "Is this the freedom of speech we sworn to protect?" The three men look at Heather who cut Garret in his sentence. "They know that they are hitting home, they are touching something sacred. This is not even about what Jamie did," Heather turns around and faces the three men looking at her. "this is about the fact that they hate our family. They hate the power my father has; they hate that they cannot have their business the way they want to." Garret looks at Frank, "I think we need to put out a neutral statement. The rider is in the hospital with a skull fracture. Furthermore, even with the video from the government buildings, it is not clear what Jamie did." Heather looks at Sid, silently asking him to step up. "He was protecting protestors who should not have been in that area! Potter and Guerrero are setting up for another lawsuit.", "They are throwing crap against the wall to see if it sticks." Defends Frank. "And based on that video they put out, some crap might stick." Heather walks closer to the desk. Sid steps in once more, "oh, they got ways of editing with those things. They make anyone look guilty.", "The three of you, please, take the earplugs out. There is a lot of legitimate use of force questions nationally. Us not taking this seriously is not going to make it go away." Heather takes a deep breath before adding, "so, what, we cave? We are talking about my family. I am not going to let them run on everything we have accomplished up until to this day. The ones that tried never did it again."      Heather leaves the office under the eyes of the three men. Frank knew that Heather was not going to let this go, and he knew better than to step in her way, and he did not want to. These two men touched his family; Heather had carte blanche on this one.

-Jamie-
“12 David, we have a 10-52 A, Female in distress. She is currently hiding in her closet from a male suspect.” The radio came to life, causing Jamie and Renzulli to rush back to the squad car.
“12 David to central we’re in route.” Renzulli called back as Jamie started the car. Renzulli looked at the computer before addressing Jamie. “Jamie. Isn’t this Y/n’s house?”
Jamie looked at the screen, his eyes were filled with shock. He didn’t say anything as he turned on the sirens and drove as quickly as he could to get to your house. When they pulled up Danny and Jackie were already out of their car, heading towards your home.
“Danny what’s going on?” Jamie called to him as they stepped out of their cars.
“It’s Jake.” He looked between Jamie and Renzulli. Jamie tensed up instantly when he heard your ex’s name. “You guys take the back; Jackie and I have the front.”
“Got it. Let’s go Reagan.” Renzulli bumped Jamie on the arm, pulling him out of his daze.
Renzulli was already walking around your house to the back, Jamie quickly followed behind. His heart was racing. How did he find you? What was he doing here? There were so many questions floating around in his head as he approached the back door. Renzulli pulled the door open for Jamie. He quickly made his way to the front where he heard Danny and Jackie yelling. He wasn’t prepared for what he saw as he rounded the corner.
When Danny and Jackie got to your front door, Danny gave her a look after seeing that the door was open. As his hand came up to push the door open there was a crashing sound. They quickly went through the door, making their way to the main area. When they got there, they saw you pinned up against the wall, you were barely conscious and Jake with the gun to your chest.
“Police! Drop The Gun!”
Danny and Jackie had their guns pointed at Jake. He looked over as he moved his finger to the trigger. Both Jackie and Danny noticed this, but Danny was quicker at pulling the trigger. As soon as the bullet hit its target, he dropped. Releasing you from his hold. As you started falling to the ground, Jamie rounded the corner to see you going down. He slid down to his knees to catch you, not caring about the glass that was cutting him up.
“Y/n!” He was cradling your head, trying to get you to open your eyes. “Come on Y/n. Open your eyes baby please.”
Danny dropped down next to you and Jamie. He could see that you were still breathing, which was a good sign. The not waking up, wasn’t. Jackie ran outside when she heard the ambulance sirens, coming back a few seconds later with the paramedics. They quickly came to your aid. Danny and Jamie needed to step away, but Jamie didn’t want to let you go. One of the paramedics had to cradle your head as Renzulli pulled Jamie back from you.
Danny had walked outside to call Linda, he wanted to make sure that she was the one who caught you when you got to the hospital.
“Hello.”
“Linda, I need you to do something for me.” She could hear something different in his voice.
“Danny what’s wrong?” “It’s Y/n. She is coming into the hospital; they are loading her into the ambulance as we speak. Jamie is riding with her; his knees are cut up pretty bad too. Linda, she’s not waking up.” Now there was no hiding the fact that he was starting to cry. “I need you to be there to help her. Please help her.”
“Oh my god.” She was in shock but was quickly able to recover. “Danny, I will, I will do everything I can okay. You need to call your dad and let him know. I have to go. I love you. I promise that I will be with her as soon as she gets here.”
“Thank you, Linda. I love you too.”
Once he hung up with Linda, He was already making his next few calls. He was able to finish them quickly, before getting Jackie and driving to the hospital.
“Danny, I need to tell you something.”
“What is it, Jackie?” He looked at her for a split second before going back to the road.
“Last week when I had to go back to the locker room, I saw Y/n.” She was looking down at her hands, she felt guilty for not saying anything to him when it happened. “I saw that she had bruises on her back and her hip.”
“What?! Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I asked her about them, and she told me that she fell in her tub. I didn’t want to assume anything. Especially since she was dating Jamie. I know he wouldn’t do that to her. I’m sorry.”
The rest of the car ride was in an uncomfortable silence. When they arrived, they quickly looked for Jamie and Renzulli. They found them in one of the rooms, Jamie was on the bed getting his knees bandaged.
“Jamie, where is she?”
“Linda took her. They said something about surgery.”
“Did they say anything else?”
“No. They wanted to get things taken care of quick. Everything was moving so fast that I didn’t catch all of it.”
A little while later Frank came through the doors, Henry and Erin followed shortly behind. They found Danny and Jamie quickly.
“What happened?”
“Y/n called me, and she was hiding in her closet because Jake was in her house. She was supposed to call me right back after she called 911, but she didn’t. When we got there, he had a gun to her chest, and she had blood dripping down her face.” Danny ran his hands down his face, trying not to cry again. “Jamie couldn’t get her to wake up. I had to get out of there, I couldn’t see her like that.”
Over the years, you had become like a little sister to both Danny and Erin. Even Frank saw you as a daughter. You had spent so much time with them that they practically welcomed you into the family. Even before you and Jamie were a couple. You didn’t have any family left. You lost your father in the line of duty, and you lost your mother when you were a teenager.
So, when you met the Reagan’s, they welcomed you in with open arms. Danny was the one that introduced you to the rest of the Reagan bunch. You immediately hit it off with all of them. Jamie more so than the rest. Ever since then you have been inseparable from them.
“Oh my God…” Erin brought her hand up to her face and sank into a chair next to Jamie.
“Where is that son of a bitch?!” Henry was looking around the hospital.
“He’s dead.”
“Good.”
Frank pulled Jamie and Danny aside to talk to them about what has been going on. Neither of them could really tell him anything. Jamie told him about the conversation that the two of you had the night before. Danny told him about what Jackie told him, but that was really all of the information that they had.
Renzulli went back to work but told Jamie and Danny to keep him updated on your condition. Everyone sat down in the waiting room for you to come out of surgery. They were all getting nervous the longer they had to sit there. It was quite a few hours later before a doctor came out to the waiting room.
“Y/n Y/Ln’s family.”
Jamie stepped up to the doctor with his family standing up together behind him.
“I’m Jamie, Y/n is my girlfriend. She doesn’t have any family left. We are the closest thing she has to one.” He turned and gestured towards the wall of Reagans behind him.
“Okay, Jamie. We were able to clean up the side of her head where it looks a glass bottle broke and shattered on her head. We initially thought she would need surgery, but it wasn’t as bad as we initially thought. Now we did a CT scan of her brain, to make sure she didn’t have a concussion. Unfortunately, she wasn’t so lucky in that department.”
Jamie was going through so many emotions at this point. He promised you that nothing would happen to you. He had failed you. He had tears coming from his eyes, he ran his hands through his hair and left them at the top of his head.
Danny came up to try and calm his brother down. He put his arm around Jamie’s shoulder before turning to the doctor. “What happens now? Is he able to see her?”
“I want to keep her for at least three days. The next forty-eight hours are critical, and I want to keep her the extra day just to monitor her and make sure everything stays on track. She needs a lot of rest right now. I can allow you to go and sit with her, but she isn’t awake right now. We are hoping that she will wake up within the next hour or so.”
“She’s not awake yet?” Jamie’s voice was wavering, he was trying so hard not to cry.
“No, she’s not.” The doctor sighed, she didn’t want to upset Jamie or anyone else more than she already has. “How about I take you to see her?”
Jamie nodded his head before letting go of Danny. He followed the doctor down the hall to the ICU. Before getting to your room, the doctor stopped Jamie. He looked down at her with a confused look.
“I need you to mentally prepare yourself. I don’t want you to be shocked when you see her. She has bandages on her head. There are bruises and cuts all over her body. I wish that I could make all of it go away but I can’t.”
Jamie looked away from her and sighed. He was trying to compose himself, but all he could think about was how he had failed to protect you from Jake.
“Whenever you are ready Jamie, we will go inside.”
“I’m ready.” After a few seconds he spoke up.
Even with him trying to mentally prepare he wasn’t ready to see you like that. Once his eyes landed on you, it just broke him down even more. You looked so fragile with the bandages, tubes and wires that were connected to you. He grabbed one of the chairs from the side of the room and pulled it close as he could to your bed. He hesitantly grabbed your hand, not wanting to hurt you. Once he had your hand in his, he placed his elbows on your bed and the dam that was holding back his tears broke. He brought your hand up to his face and kissed it, then he pressed his forehead to your hand.
He stayed there for hours, just waiting for you to wake up. Once the tears were gone, slowly he started falling asleep himself. He didn’t remember falling asleep, but he woke up to someone running their fingers through his hair.
“Jamie…” a soft voice broke the silence.
He opened his eyes to see you looking down at him. He got up quickly, making sure that he didn’t hurt you.
“Hey. You’re awake. Are you feeling, okay?”
“Yeah, I mean I have a headache, but I think I’m okay.”
“Are you sure, I can get Linda or the doctor.”
“No. I’m okay…” You looked down at your hands, a few tears started falling down your cheek. “Jamie, I… I need to apologize to you.”
“No, you don’t.”
“Yes, I do. I was distant, cold, I was lying to you, and everyone. Then I went and broke your heart.” You were fully crying now. “I was trying to keep you safe. I didn’t want him to come after you or your family. I know it was a stupid thing to do but I didn’t want any of you to get hurt.”
“You have nothing to apologize for. You were trying to protect us. Sweetheart, you didn’t have to do that. I not going to lie I was upset that broke up with me, but thinking about it that was just to protect me, wasn’t it?”
“I had to do it; I didn’t want to. I am in love with you, but I just needed you to stay away from me for your own safety. I couldn’t let him hurt you. I’m so sorry.”
“Hey, I’m here and I’m not going anywhere. I’m absolutely, head over heels in love with you. Nothing is going to stop me from being with you. Not even your crazy ex-boyfriend.”
He gently wiped the tears away before placing a hand on the side of your face. You leaned into his touch, placing a hand over his. He leaned down pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
“So where does that leave us?”
“What do you mean?
“Do you still want to be my boyfriend? I know that sounds like a stupid question since we both just told the other that we are in love with the other. You can be in love with someone and not be with them. I don’t want to do that, but I would completely understand if you didn’t want to be with me though. I have done terrible and stupid things over the last few months, but the worst thing I did was break up with you. He was there that night watching us and he was threating you. I… I… I couldn’t risk him hurting you.” You couldn’t stop the words from coming out like word vomit. Your voice was frantic, and you were trying to make it even out, but it wasn’t working.
Jamie was just standing there in shock that you would even ask him that.
“Y/n, I need you to listen to me. I love you. I want to be with you. I can’t go through my life without you in it. I’m not giving you up that easy.”
You stared into his eyes; you could see that he was being genuine. Your tears started falling harder. You pulled him down into a hug, not caring how bad it hurt you. Pulling back slightly to look at him once again, before kissing him.
“I think I probably should get the doctor to let them know your awake. Then I need to go tell everyone. They are probably losing it by now.” Jamie said after pulling away enough to place his forehead on yours.
“Okay.”
He stayed there a little bit longer, giving you another kiss. Then pulling away and leaving the room. He moved to the nurse’s station, finding Linda there. Letting her know that you were awake. She quickly got the doctor. Jamie waited until Linda and the doctor went into your room before going out to the waiting room. All of his family was still there, with Nikki, Jack and Sean joining the group.
“Is she okay?” Erin was the first to spot Jamie.
“Yea, she says her head hurts but she’s okay.” Everyone let out sighs of relief. “Thank you, guys, for being here for her. I don’t know how I would have managed all of this if you guys weren’t here.”
They all just looked at each other before surrounding Jamie in a family hug. All of them looked up when they heard a voice behind them.
“What about me?”
Linda was standing behind them with her arms crossed. Everyone let go and Jamie walked over to Linda. Pulling her into a tight hug.
“Thank you. I’m glad you were the one who to help her. I don’t know what I would have done if I lost her.”
“Hey, she’s okay and she’s not going anywhere.” She pulled back a little, not breaking the hug. “It’s my job to help and take care of people. Besides, she is family. I would do anything for her, you, or anyone of those troublemakers over there. You don’t have to thank me for that.”
“Well… Thank you for being there for her when I couldn’t.”
“You should go back in there; she’s asking for you.”
“I’m going.” He had a big smile on his face when he let go of her to get back to you.
A little while after Jamie got back into your room there was as knock on the door. Both of you looked over to see Danny standing in the doorway.
“What’s up Danny?”
“Can I talk to you for just a second?”
“Yeah.” Jamie got up and walked over to Danny. “What’s going on?
“I have to talk to Y/n. I need to get her statement. I want to get it done and over with so that she can put it behind her and not have to think about it. She can just rest and not have to worry about him anymore.” He talked in a low whisper so that only Jamie could hear.
“No matter what happens she will remember that asshole for the rest of her life. Please don’t push her to do this right now.”
“I’m not going to push her. Why would you think that?”
“Danny, you don’t have the softest approach when it comes to things like this.”
“Wow. Thanks Jamie.” Danny moved around Jamie over to you.
“Hey.” He was standing next to your bed.
“Hi Danny.”
“I need to talk to you. Only if you’re up for it thought.”
“I’m guessing that I have to make my statement now. I have to ask…” You looked down at your hands, rubbing them together like you were nervous.
“What’s that?”
“Can Jackie take my statement?”
You couldn’t look at him. The things that Jack did; it was going to be hard enough to talk about it. You don’t want Danny to look at you any different after hearing what happened. For that same reason you didn’t want Jamie in the room either.
“Y/n… Yeah, I can get her.” You could hear the hurt in his voice as he sent a quick message to Jackie. You could tell that he was thinking that you didn’t trust him.
“Can it be just her?” you said in a quieter voice.
“You don’t want Jamie in the room?” He stepped a little closer to you, keeping this conversation quiet.
“No.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I need to do this without him here. I won’t be able to tell her everything if he’s here.”
You were holding back tears at this point. Danny leaned over, carefully pulling you into a hug. You held onto him, just letting it all out. You didn’t even hear Jackie come into the room.
“Y/n?” You pulled back from Danny to look up. You only saw worry in all of their eyes. You wiped your eyes on your hands, then you looked to Jackie. Danny got up and walked over to the two of them. Talking to them in a whisper.
“Thanks Jackie. She wants you to take the statement, and she wants to do it alone.” He looked to Jamie.
“What?!” Jamie spoke a little loud causing you to jump slightly. Instantly regretting it once he saw the way you reacted.
“Jamie, she needs to be able to talk freely. She can’t do that with her boyfriend in the room. She will tell you what happened when she’s ready, but for now don’t push this.” Without saying another word, Jamie walked out.
“Go after him.” Jackie put a hand on his shoulder before walking to you.
Danny looked back at you one last time before following his brother out of the room. You didn’t want Jamie to be upset with you. You felt bad enough with everything that you did, this was just the icing on the cake. You pulled your legs up towards your chest, wrapping your arms around them. You didn’t care how much it hurt, you deserved it for all of the pain you had caused Jamie the last couple of months.
“Y/n?” You looked up to see Jackie moving to the chair that Jamie had been previously sitting in.
“Jackie… I messed up, didn’t I?”
“No. No you didn’t.” She placed her hand on your arm. “Jamie will be fine. He just wants to be here for you.”
“But I made him leave.” You dropped your head back onto your knees.
“If you didn’t, I would have. I know that this is already going to be hard for you to talk to me about and I’m one of your friends. I couldn’t imagine how hard it would be to have your boyfriend hear what happened to you.”
You looked over at her, she has sympathy in her eyes and written all over her face. You put your forehead back on your knees, trying to calm yourself down. A few seconds later you felt Jackie’s hand lightly touch your arm.
“Honey, I know this is going to be hard, but we can go as slow as you need to go. Okay?”
You nodded, then you picked up your head, wiping the tears off of your face and looked at her. You started telling her all of the events that have happened over the last few months leading up to today. You told her that you had saved all of the text messages that he had sent to you. You even made sure to take photos of yourself every time something happened to you. You gave her your phone as evidence.
Not once did you feel like she was judging you for the trauma you had gone through. You felt safe telling her everything. You let everything out, and when you were done it felt like a huge weight was lifted off of your shoulders. You were finally able to breath. You were tired, you felt drained from all of the talking, but now that it was out there, and this is completely over…
You feel finally free…
