How do you value your own worth? Success in your career? Wealth? Weight? Size of your boobs? Your handstand? All of the above? We all do it.. even if you grew up with parents telling you to measure worth by how you treat other people, that little voice in our head tells you that’s somehow not “valid”. I have certainly valued myself on success, smarts, looks etc .. and still do! But what I’m slowly realizing is that I don’t actually have to have any “worth” at all. Im not a fucking commodity. I don’t owe having “worth” to my parents, my children .. you.. or myself! So by all means I’ll keep valuing my worth on random things... sure.. but I know it doesn’t matter! Yesterday, I posted 5 rules to be a badass 😉 .. I got so many messages especially on rule 5 - acknowledge your light and your dark side. .. so let me reiterate: we 👏are 👏not 👏supposed to be shiny and happy all the time! Nobody is! If you meet one I suggest you run.. those are the people who will either go postal or already hides bodies in their basement.. just saying 😏 There seems to be a lot of people in the yoga world who thinks yoga is supposed to make you all positive and happy thoughts... it’s not! I was asked in my Q & A yesterday if I had a body part I was insecure about; as I pointed out in my story.. in just too old to give a shit 😂😂 seriously though.. with age I’ve stopped chasing perfection; it doesn’t mean I don’t take care of my body or take pride in my appearance .. hair, nails, laser treatments, expensive skin care etc hell yes! But Ive let go of the idea of perfection - it’s not real anyway.. it’s a fluid concept in our brain. Sure... I have days when I look in the mirror and think “yikes!” But it does not effect my confidence, it does not effect my mood .. it does not effect my sense of worthiness. My body has a story; scars, stretch marks, crookedness.. short fat fingers 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 .. and it’s wonderful. .
