Oh!! A new model! Usually a new unique model indicates another potential magical girl added to the roster, like what we saw with Mitsune or even Kagome before her. It’s exciting to see some new cast, especially if this indicates either a potential Arc 3 being set in the present, or a replacement for an Arc 3, or even a supplement to it! (Remember that the instances we’ve seen of characters with new unique models becoming magical girls usually ended up being a major part of the main story!)

Shioya Harumi, eh? She seems like a very polite yet skiddish kiddo so far. In the previous lines, she panicked when Mito got to her while introducing everyone. So far, we’ve seen a couple of normal (generic) NPCs, a fifth grade boy NPC, Natsuki, Mitama, Kanagi, Mito, who’s been introducing everyone, and the person introduced before Harumi here...

HUH??????? A DUDE WITH A FACE?????

My god, that’s the third unique male model we’ve seen, after Tonker’s dad and Tasuke. Huh, speaking of which, those latter two did end up becoming very important in late Arc 2, and they were both family members of main character magical girls...

Oh, he has a name too!!! “Izumi Sougetsu”...

WAITWAITWAIT IT’S NAGITAN’S BROTHER!!! Holy shite, we finally have a name for him! Wow, he’s got the exact opposite appearance to Nagitan, looks like he stuck his finger in an electrical socket. What a mood, mate. 

He mentions here that he’s a 3rd year middle schooler at Daito Academy, which is odd, I seem to remember Nagitan’s brother being older than her? 

I gotta go read through some parts of Chapter 10 again, but I could’ve sworn he was one of the ones who helped to snap Mitama and Nagitan out of their depresso funk, which, if I’m right there, means he’s already story relevant!! 

Oh, also, looks like Sougetsu here has his own set of emotes, too. I wasn’t able to catch it well in the screenshot, but he starts showing up in event episode 2, so there should be plenty of scenes with him during the event.

Eternal Darkness Party

Obtainability: Limited for the “Dark Halloween is the Color of Love” event shop. This is a event bonus memoria and it should be kept in case of a rerun.  

MLB Effect: Attack Down [35%] (All / 1 Turn)

Effect Definitions:

Attack Down is a Debuff that will decrease the target’s base attack.

TLDR: “Eternal Darkness Party” is good for Magia Stall Teams and for Free-to-Play players who don’t have many memoria to use. However if you do have better memoria to field, this becomes Enhancement Fodder (or alternatively it belongs in the Memoria Vault Jail if you want to save it for the possibility of an event rerun).

Review: “Eternal Darkness Party” is okay. There are many better memoria to use in the game, and its usage is diminished by how good your account is. 

Attack Down is a good effect for Magia Stall teams (and to a lesser extent, so is Damage Down). At a percentage of 35% and with a relatively low cooldown at six turns, “Eternal Darkness Party” should be helpful in debuffing the enemy, ensuring that troublesome bosses deal as little damage to you as possible. On a Magia Stall team, you can equip multiple Attack Down active memoria, allowing you to blanket the enemy in debuffs for as many turns in a row as you can. So if you plan on using Magia Stall strategies in situations such as the Hundred Evils, multiple memoria with Attack Down are a good thing to have.

This is a long list, even when editing it for what most players are likely to have. Still, it’s unlikely a player will have all of these, as several are limited and even the four-stars might be hard to grab considering how large the unlimited pool is these days. Additionally, free-to-play players, for whom the Magia Stall strategy is most useful for, are probably going to be lacking in memoria selection. Therefor while “Eternal Darkness Party” isn’t as good as several of these, it’s also still helpful when you don’t have many on hand.

So... the usefulness of this memoria depends on what memoria you have and what teams you’re using. If you need to use a Magia Stall team, then this will be helpful. If you don’t have a lot of Attack Down memoria, then this will be helpful. 

Outside of that, you can chuck it into the Memoria Vault Jail in case the event is eventually rerun. Alternatively you can use it as Enhancement Fodder.

The Duo's Entwined Path

MLB Effect: Redraw Discs

Effect Definitions:

Redraw Discs will replace that turns’ discs with a new set from the available pool.

TLDR: “The Duo's Entwined Path” is a good niche memoria that is either extraordinarily helpful or completely useless. It’s worth keeping.

Review: “The Duo's Entwined Path” is a simple memoria with a simple effect. You either need it or you don’t. It can help shuffle disks if you get a particularly bad set. Of course, it won’t directly increase your damage or protect you in any way– but indirectly, it can help better set up a puella combo or a connect, which could give that effect.

Naturally you won’t always get a better disk set, even if you use this memoria. However, you can reset the game and try again if you’re willing to spend some time on it.

I’ve seen this memoria, alongside several others that also give Redraw Discs, in Kimochi to try and mitigate some of the RNG. If you need to make sure a specific characters gets at least one accele disc in a turn, you can equip two or three of these on different units to try and ensure that happens.

Of course, this means you are sacrificing potential damage by not using other active memoria. However this could be worth it if you’ve determined a good path for your gameplay.
