Hi! first thanks for everything you do, and second i was wondering if you could help me find a fic, it was in AO3, sterek, western Au and Derek gets hired as a ranch hand for Stiles dad... if you can't find it i would love some cowboy sterek if it's not a bother :)
Hi @mjisdumb! @she-who-reads-fanfiction says it's this!
Tumblr media
Stilinski Ranch: Part One by sexierthanyousterek (totallystereksexual)
(1/1 I 757 I Teen I Sterek)
Derek is a new hand at the Stilinski Ranch in Beacon Hills, California. He has come far to get away from a dark past. Stiles is the son of the ranch owner, come home from school for the summer. What happens when Derek finds himself drawn to the younger male against his better judgement? AU. Sterek. Teen for now.
AND
@the-diggler and @fluffybunnerkins and @lonechicken suggested this one!
Wild Horses by thepsychicclam
(1/1 I 78,917 I Explicit I Sterek)
Derek's a drifter with no home, no destination, and no will to live. Stiles works on his family's failing cattle and horse ranch while all his friends are going off to college. When Derek falls asleep in a random barn, exhausted and half-starved, he doesn't expect to wake up on the other end of the sheriff's shotgun. And Stiles sure as hell doesn't expect his dad to invite the drifter in for breakfast.

Favorite food?
Past blorbos?
Favorite place you have visited?
💜
1.- Food, I love food so it's hard to choose but I'm going to say ¡Completos!
It's a Chilean creation and the best thing ever. The country sucks but I don't think I can't hate this place where you can buy delicious and affordable completos basically everywhere.
2.- I don't know if I could call them blorbos because they're both really tough, dark and sexy characters lmao But Derek Hale from Teen Wolf and Rosa Díaz from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. They were my comfort characters before Simon came and blew me away. They are not even the same vibe at all but I love them lol (I never watched a single episode of Teen Wolf though, I used to watch the sterek super cuts on youtube because I thought the actors were pretty, so my knowledge of the show it's completely fanmade lmao)
3.- La Cordillera de Los Andes: you might think it's only mountains but they're not, they're magnificent views and sacred places for the Mapuche here in the South. And it depends where you cross them and the season you do it, but you can see ancient forests, beautiful waterfalls and there are still places untouched by the destructive hands of men. Crossing them riding a horse it's one of the best experiences of my life and I'll treasure it forever!!
Thanks for the ask! 💜

Fic Rec😁
A Quiet Night (Not in the Cards) by Delightful_I_Am - (Rating: T, Words: 4369, sterek)
"Derek fucking Hale!"
The shout rang through the bar and for a long moment nobody moved. It was like something out of a movie. Everything just stopped; the music cut off; one of the servers had frozen mid-pour. Grady would have laughed if he weren't holding his breath. The kid straightened his shirt, a glimpse of stomach showing the curling edges of a tattoo on his hip, and strode toward where Hale was sitting in the dark corner. As one, every supe in the place turned to see Hale's reaction; the last person to try to confront Hale in here had left with a broken hand and a whispered threat that the next time Hale would rip their throat out. With his teeth. Unsurprisingly, Hale's face was set in its usual glower, although it seemed a bit softer around the eyes. It took Grady a second to realise Hale knew the kid.
Full Stop by sparkandwolf (thatnerdemryn) - (Rating: G, Words: 645, sterek)
Stiles wasn’t sure if he would ever get used to the sight of a shirtless Derek Hale in his bed. He wasn’t sure how he got lucky enough to see it as frequently as he did, either, but he decided early on in their relationship that he wasn’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
That's Debatable by cloudsarefluffy - (Rating: Mature, Words: 16702, sterek)
Stiles is known for not being a run-of-the-mill omega.
He’s mouthy, stubborn, strongly opinionated, and he doesn’t appreciate egotistical alphas in the slightest. In fact, he’ll tell them exactly where to shove it— . . . if he could. Sadly, when you’re in a Contemporary Issues class at school with a teacher who loves write-ups, one must curb the tongue to some degree.
Even when lacrosse star and alpha Derek Hale is being a massive asshole, and continues to argue with Stiles every chance he gets.
Cupid's Rejects by alisvolatpropiis - (Rating: Not Rated, Words: 1590, sterek)
Just a short lil' bit of V-day fluff, partially inspired by my current ER binge!
I am a doctor...but I am not a medical doctor! My apologies for any inaccuracies on that front, and please, for the love of Hoechlin's beard, if you ever experience an allergic reaction, seek medical attention immediately!!
Much love to you all, and Happy late Valentine's Day!
At Home Under the Moon by wanderingeyre - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 18425, sterek)
There is no doubt in Derek’s mind that this fox is alone, in trouble, and needs to come home with them, with him. Derek takes a risk and lets his wolf go, calling his human side forward as he shifts. The fox barks in alarm and scrambles back to the bushes. Derek kneels and holds his hands out palm up.
Derek pushes power into the next words and lets his eyes go red. “I promise. You’re safe. No one will hurt you.”
The Perfect Pack Mom by halcyon1993 - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 4444, sterek)
Derek gets turned on by how good Stiles is at being Pack Mom and just has to take him.
The Disaster Triplets by wyrmwolf - (Rating: T, Words: 1083, sterek)
Derek really wishes his Beta’s would stop getting Stiles drunk for their own amusement. They didn’t have to deal with a handsy Stiles when he got drunk, and boy could that guy talk when he was under the influence.
New Version Of The Old by GotTheSilver - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 3309, sterek)
“I think I’m going to have to shave it off,” Derek says softly, his fingers rubbing against Stiles’ hair. “The pixies really did a number on you.”
“Pixies are assholes,” Stiles grumbles, meeting Derek’s eyes in the mirror. “I haven’t had a buzzcut in years,” he says wistfully. “Figures it’d be because of supernatural beings. Back to looking like a nerdy teenager I guess.”
Blind Date With A Book by thepsychicclam - (Rating: Mature, Words: 30361, sterek)
Stiles thought the Blind Date With a Book trend was a great way to drum up business for his small bookshop. He definitely thought it was a great idea after the hot guy kept returning and buying more blind dates with books.
Derek didn't know how he kept getting set up on blind dates by his family, or why he kept going on them. The highlight of his night was when the date was over and he could go to the little bookshop in town and buy something to read for the rest of the night. He wanted to read, not date.
Love in an Elevator by mikkimouse - (Rating: Mature, Words: 1718, sterek)
Stiles is angry with Derek, and he'd be happy to never have to talk about why. However, they're also stuck in an elevator for the next half hour.
And Stiles is really bad about staying quiet.

Sterek Fic Rec - August 2021. Hello team, can you believe we are already in August? Here’s some more Sterek fics for you. Happy reading.
Relationship Status: It's complicated by kellifer_fic (1/1 | 4,010 | Mature)
Okay, I know this is a huge stretch for you, but can you please pretend you're like, into me?
Can I Steal You? by Rena (1/1 | 4,920 | Explicit)
One day Derek will learn how to not be affected by a cheeky, barely legal, pick-pocketing brat. Today is not that day.
Shut Up and Kiss Me by Still_beating_heart (1/1 | 1,856 | Teen)
Stiles wakes up in the hospital to overhear Derek speaking multiple languages to the nurse, who is only trying to get him to leave when visitor's hours are over.
Hemingway Can Suck It by orphan_account (1/1 | 10,054 | Teen)
“For those of you who just transferred into this class or simply decided that day one wasn’t important enough to attend, I’m Professor Hale. Welcome to English 346, The American Novel.”
Stiles is pretty sure his mouth is hanging open right now and that his eyes are wide with shock, because holy fuck, he thinks he knows why his students transferred. Hell, if he was still an undergrad, he probably would have transferred, too.
(Or: In which Stiles is a Biology professor and Derek thinks he's a student.)
Note: French translation by the lovely enso-infinite now available (link inside)!
baby, quit stalin and enlighten me by orphan_account (1/1 | 2,189 | Teen)
You had me at tsarcasm.
In which Stiles seduces Derek with bad history puns.
Flying Higher Than Before by amazingpages (1/1 | 4,522 | Explicit)
Stiles has been a flight attendant for six years now. Derek thinks it’s about time they joined the mile-high club.
Professional Werewolf Witch by reptilianraven (1/1 | 5,133 | General)
"Are you going to buy anything else?" Professional Eyebrows says and Stiles would like to buy him. A cup of coffee. On a date.
He just ends up pointing at the crate of whatever the fuck is behind Professional Eyebrows' head and says, "Uh, a box of that stuff."
P.E. turns, glances at the crate, and raises an eyebrow at Stiles. "You want a box of charmed rattlesnake tail?" God, magic is so fucking weird.
"Yeah." Stiles nods because he's making an ass out of himself. The hipster vampire browsing in the corner is not so subtly laughing at him. The sooner he leaves the better.
-
The one where Derek Hale is a Professional Werewolf Witch who owns a magic shop and Stiles fails at being smooth on a regular basis.
Roll In The Hay by werewolfsaz (1/1 | 4,336 | Explicit)
He was impressively built, Stiles could see, grey tank top stretched tight over a perfect chest, every curve and line visible to the point the young man wondered why the rider had even bothered. Perfectly muscled arms, the kind Stiles had often dreamed of on a faceless lover, controlled the reins with easy grace. He saw powerful legs gripping the horse's sides, dark blue denim encasing them all the way down to the dusty cowboy boots. As the horse slowed to a walk, Stiles finally lifted his eyes to the man's face.
Waiting Games by Jerakeen (1/1 | 6,315 | Explicit)
Being an only child and heir to the throne, Stiles had always known he may not have the luxury of marrying for love. When he’d realized he was an omega to boot, things had taken an even more uncomfortable turn for him.
Omegas are rare. An omega as the heir apparent is almost unheard of.
Which is why there is no wiggle room when it comes to the tournament.
i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart) by yodasyoyo (1/1 | 5,700 | Teen)
Stiles is six years old when he first hears Derek's voice in his head.
Or what happens if you have a soulmate bond, in a universe where soulmate bonds don't exist?
princecharmingwinks special mention (I looove Boyd in this fic! The Sterek is of course amazing as well but I’m always going to love Boyd getting some spotlight!)
Stiles Stilinski: Your In-Flight Entertainment by loserchildhotpants (1/1 | 2,426 | Teen)
Kristsune on Tumblr sent me this prompt: could you write a little Sterek for me? Pretty please? Derek is a pilot, and Stiles is a flight attendant. Stiles bothers Derek ever 5 minutes, possibly brought some rubber snakes on a plane?
And there we have it! Hope you enjoy these gems. Remember to leave comments and kudos.

Any Sterek fics where Stiles is also a werewolf?
There are more fics in the tag.
Until I Wrap Myself Inside Your Arms (I Cannot Rest) by EvanesDust, flymeofftoneverland | 16.3K | Explicit
It’s been two years since Derek returned and, so far, he’s kept his promise. He's never left again. But, as far as Stiles is concerned, he might as well have never come back.
It Was a Wednesday by isthatbloodonhisshirt (wasterella) | 80.1K | Mature
“What happened? Where are you? What’s that sound?”
Derek jumped, having momentarily forgotten Scott was on the phone with him because Stiles had started moving. He’d stalked over to the other side of the cave, still eying Derek warily and growling, then settled protectively over a mass of clothes, leaves and animal innards. It was probably where he was sleeping.
Lovely. No wonder he smelled like death.
“Stiles,” Derek said, answering Scott’s question. Or, one of them, at least.
running with the wind by  thepsychicclam | 15.4K
Derek’s been running and hopes he can find sanctuary in the Stilinski Pack’s territory. The Alpha isn’t the strong sheriff he thought he was, but a sarcastic awkward teenager that Derek finds he kinda hates.
Bonds of Blood, Bonds of Family, Bonds of Love by TyReed | 44K
After being beaten up by a door, werewolf Stiles Stilinksi finds himself bonded to Derek Hale, of the Hale Noble Bloodline. For a scrawny, wimpy, Tainted Bloodline werewolf, Stiles runs away, embarrassed and humiliated as he worries about bringing shame to the Hale Family, and even more shame to himself. Because the Nobles and Tainted just don’t mix, never have, never will.
Except, things aren’t exactly what they seem.
With the help of the (meddling) Hale family, his adoptive (meddling) human parents John and Claudia Stilinksi, and one very persistent Alpha Derek Hale, Stiles might come to see himself as more than just the blood that runs through his veins, and open his heart to find the happiness, friends, pack, and the family that he’d always wanted.
Welcome to the Pack, Omega by  alisvolatpropiis | 4.7K
“Derek Hale is a wandering Omega looking for a pack to call his own. When he comes into Beacon Hills, he’s intercepted by the local pack. They take him to their Alpha who Derek is expecting to be an older werewolf. What he’s not expecting is for this kid that can’t be more than 20, with the smirk playing about his kissable looking lips, to be the Alpha. Needless to say, they don’t exactly get off on the right foot. But, Derek thinks later that night, he could easily find his home in Beacon Hills with Stiles Stilinski and his pack.”
hold my hand (it’s a long way down) by  Chosenfire | 3.5K
Derek has no intention of ever going back to Beacon Hills, but a call from Scott changes that. When he gets there, Derek finds something unexpected.
The Alpha to My Alpha by  CupcakeGirlA | 10.7K
“Derek will kill you. He’ll tear you limb from limb!” Stiles says, scrambling away from him. The Alpha ambles closer.
“No, I don’t think he will,” the Alpha says. “I mean aside from killing a couple of hikers in his territory and doing him this favor, I haven’t really done anything to Hale. Once I’m gone he’ll probably be happy with the gift I’ve left for him.”
Throw Me to the Wolves by  skoosiepants | 13.4K
Stiles accidentally gets bitten, and everything goes to hell.
This is Not (In Fact) Okay by  rileywrites | 3K
Derek and Stiles end up partnered for a project, and Derek contents himself with being a part of Stiles’ life. For a while.
Regarding the Epigenetic Effects of Kissing Werewolves by Unloyal_Olio | 33.8K | Explicit
Stiles’s mom had tried to tell him before she died. He should have listened.
The Hour of the Wolf by Suaine | 54K
Stiles never wanted to be a werewolf, but the choice is taken out of his hands by a series of unfortunate events. When he wakes up his life has become infinitely more complicated.
Pale Horses by Jana_C | 56K | Explicit
Being bitten had never been on his to-do list, but he could deal with that. Helping Derek Hale become a competent Alpha, though, that was so not in his job description.
Choice by Omni | 8.6K
Derek knows what it feels like to not really have a choice, what it’s like to be manipulated. He’d never take away someone’s right to choose freely. The fear of even accidentally doing so is enough to hold him back from acting on his own feelings.
Stiles has never had a problem making his own choices, and fuck anyone who would try to tell him he can’t.
best case scenario by verity | 13.1K
The fourth time Stiles breaks the fridge, Dad is less sympathetic. “Stiles,” he says as Stiles holds the door steady for him to screw it back onto the chassis—there’s new hardware involved this time, and not a little duct tape— “I thought this werewolf thing was going to help.”
“Yeah, with the dementia,” Stiles says.
Trust Fall by Stoney | 144.2K | Explicit
Stiles is fairly certain that a case could be made for every bad thing in his life coming back to Peter Hale. This time it’s pissing off a powerful witch, who retaliated by swapping Stiles and Derek a la Freaky Friday, because sure. That makes sense. Um, there are GPAs on the line, not to mention the whole thing where his dad wants to shoot Derek on sight. Except who he sees as Derek is actually Stiles, and Stiles did not sign up for filicide.
Great. Wait…does this mean he’s the Alpha until they figure this out? Holy. Shit.
Entelechy by the_deep_magic | 7.2K | Explicit
entelechy (n): a realization or actuality as opposed to a potentiality
Unbroken by Piscaria | 43.4K
When Stiles starts getting sick, he assumes his appetite loss and lethargy stem from the darkness the Nemeton left in his heart. But soon enough, even he can’t deny that he’s showing the same symptoms his mom had. When he’s forced to face the truth about his illness, Stiles finds himself making a choice he never thought he’d make.
Go Away, Scott by HelloWhyTheFuckAmIHere | 66.2K
After the incident at the warehouse, Stiles is fed up with Scott. He finds himself drawn into Derek’s pack and in the process, drawn to Derek himself.
With the Alpha Pack closing in, Derek needs to learn how to trust his pack and those around him. And who better to help him than Stiles?
Ukochany by VincentMeoblinn | 34.1K
Derek comes home to find a mail order husband and two amused betas waiting for him. When he realizes their prank was far from harmless he ends up saddled with a husband who barely speaks English but insists Derek is the love of his life. He’s also determined to win him over.

Kings and Queens
Sooooo uuuuuhhhh I watched the girl king earlier and I am a sucker for medieval stories about badass girls and I immediately got feels and of course feels translated into sterek??? Have fun with a few words I just threw together in an hour!
~~~
4 years ago Derek never would have believed he would be stepping down from the throne to hand the crown to his younger sister, barely 18. 4 years ago, Derek wouldn't have believed he would have ever been King in the first place. In fact, 4 years ago, Derek wasn't sure he would still be alive at this age.
It was 4 years ago that Derek had woken up out of the daze with a jolt, while wandering the forest outside the castle walls in disguise. He woke to the world to the sight of burning amber eyes and pale freckled skin. Oh, and ever since that day life hadn't stopped coming at him. Ever since that day, he could think of nothing but the golden eyes mage with the red cape.
The night was well underway but the festivities made no sign of ending any time soon. Nevertheless, Derek said his farewells to Cora, kneeling before the new queen and kissing her knuckles, before she pulled him to his feet for a proper hug.
"You better send me letters, brother," she told him as she kept her arms locked tight around him. "Don't make me send my best men after you."
"I promise." Derek nodded. "And you better make good use of that crown."
Cora pulled back to look at him with the same fiery, regal eyes their mother had once worn and for just a second Derek mourned his departure.
"You know I will," Cora replied, bodly, shin tilting up and yes, Derek did not regret passing the title on to her a single bit. She would make a great queen to the people of their kingdom and they deserved it after the hell their lands had been through the last decade or two. Derek knew Cora would rebuild the Hale legacy.
He squeezed her hands and then quickly pulled away before he could get misty eyed. As he turned, he never once looked back. Going to his quarters, he dressed down and pulled on a plain dark cloak, grabbed his bag and made his way to the stables. His horse had been readied for him by one of Cora's stablemates as Derek had already dismissed everyone keeping watch on him.
The moon shone bright above as Derek lead his mare out of the palace stables and down the courtyard. A perfect night to start his epic journey. Not a hero's tale, surely. Derek hadn't been born to inspire songs of legend and myth. But it was his heart's journey, his soul's fate. The kingdom would do well without him. There was someplace else where he was needed.
"I know you aren't about to leave without saying goodbye," Erica's voice rang out from his right and her hair gleamed in the moonlight as she stepped out of the shadows with Boyd to her right. Derek's two most faithful and successful knights. He'd relied on them for much of everything after they had helped him escape the bandits that had befallen him, when Peter had risen to take over the throne. They'd been by his side much like the mage had, only they hadn't left. And yet, here he was leaving them.
"I'd hoped to spare myself the pain," Derek said, somber, turning to them as his fingers tightened around the reigns.
"You could always take us with you," Erica replies, crossing her arms over her chest. Strong-willed and loud-spoken but loyal to the core. There'd never been a better knight.
Boyd placed a gentle hand on her shoulder and Derek heard the light sigh she gave. Stepping forward, Derek let go of the reigns and laid a hand on each of their arms.
"My sister needs you here more. You have served me better than I could have ever asked for. Now, I just ask you to take care of her for me," he said, and with a light squeeze and sorrowful look, he stepped back again, back into his mare's wisping white breath in the cool dark night.
"We don't need to listen to you anymore though, do we now?" Erica continued to stubbornly resist but her voice was somber as well and she made no move to embark on the mission with Derek.
"But we will serve our queen with our lives. As we have served you," Boyd added from next to her and Derek knew without a doubt that Erica felt the same way.
"And please," Derek said, mounting his horse before meeting their gentle gazes again, "take care of yourselves."
They nodded silently and Derek tried to brave a smile before he gave a light nudge to the gentle creature's ribs beneath him and she started to ride off into the night. It was hard not to feel anxious, his heart rabbiting in his chest, the world feeling like it was unraveling in his hands just like when he'd been a teenager. Back when the Argents had attacked from within when they'd come to sign a peace treaty, and proceeded to murder nearly everyone in the castle. Or back when he had found Laura, a great rising queen - the Phoenix they had called her - cut in two, and that by their very own uncle, who had been so tormented by the Argent's attack that he had lost all grip on sanity, very much so that Derek had felt the need to take it upon himself to rid him of his misery, and with that take upon the immense task of stepping up to the throne and leading a sea of people to success. Or back when he had left him.
It had taken so much out of him and so long, all of the last four years, to make it through those disasters, to heal and grow, to become stable enough to see into his future. And now here he was, leaving his family and friends and home behing in a flourishing gallop, riding out into the unknown on the flimsy hope that'd he'd be able to find the boy who'd stood by his side when he was becoming the man he was today, fit for a throne and the face of a kingdom.
But Derek knew, he was nothing without this man. The spark that had relit the fire within him, especially the one in his heart. The smile that had carried Derek through the nights of eternal gloom until he saw the light again. The endless words that filled his soul with substance. The joy that coiled in him as strength. The warmth that melted his numbness so that he could feel the world, the love, the life.
~~~
Day and night he rode, taking only so much rest as his darling Moonshine needed, for he knew once he reached his goal she would be free of service to live the rest of her days in pasture. At night Derek would lay on the damp ground and stare up at the sky, or at least what he could see if it between the tree branches, and he would count every star and for each remember one of the moles that stretched across his beloved's skin. He could still feel the warmth of his body beside his, beneath his, above his - all smooth skin and lithe muscle, squirmy limbs and impatient heart - impatient hands that tugged him closer beneath the sheets, and the honey-dee voice, demanding, "Kiss me already."
Those quirky, bitten down lips that no one owned, not even Derek. Despite the strong, determined promises that he was his forevermore, Derek had known there was no way he could tame that energy and right he had been. Truth was, he had never meant to be tamed.
And every night Derek tortured himself with every of their encounters, from the time he'd caught the quick-fingered mage stealing apples from the withered courtyard like they were what the people called 'fruits of love', to the times they snuck hurriedly through the castle walls just to catch each other around the bend and fall into each other's arms, to the night he woke when his beloved slipped out of the bed, the air smelling like salt and sorrow, and proclaimed he'd had to leave, for it was his duty - his duty to the king, who had a duty to his people to reign with the future in mind, with a wife and a child. Every night he let the waves of love and loss crash over him until he rose again, sleepless but restless, spurned on by a burning desire.
~~~
And he never gave up till he rode in that little town off toward the coast with the little wood house with the red roof - just like Derek had once heard described in lush, beloved detail. A childhood home that had been abandoned, and had now been regained as was evident by the smoke rising from the chimney.
Derek dismounted and although his body burned in different ways, both exhaustion and eagerness and anger and desperation, he made sure to tend to the faithful Moonshine and let her graze freely after the tiring week long journey. By then, a figure had exited the little country house, almost like he had been called upon by that red string of fate that tied them together.
"Derek," he heard, a whisper carried over by the wind that blew the hood of his cloak back as Derek strided over with confident but calm steps, trying to practice himself in dignity.
He stopped in front of a bizarrely still  older image of someone he'd once known, the hair scraggly and longer, curling slightly, tantalizing and tempting Derek to reach over and run his fingers through it. There was a little scruff along the jaw, but he could still spot the familiar moles beneath it. The mouth was the same, soft bitten lips that hung open like he'd just run out of breath from incessant chatter, like anything and everything in the world took his breath away because he could find the magic in the smallest speck of dirt.
But the eyes - the eyes spoke of the same longing and light Derek had yearned to see, something in his chest blossoming like the first, hungry spring flowers on the first day of sunlight. And now it was him who was frozen to the spot at the flood of emotion, wanting to do everything all at once and not knowing where to start.
"Wha… what are you doing here?" The question trembled just like the parting declaration a year ago had, falling from barely composed lips, which were ready to crash forward and into Derek's and let the world crash and burn around it if it had to.
"You idiot," Derek let out with a laugh, and just like that it was easy all over again, taking that one step to close the chasm in his world and take back into his arms what was meant to be there, lips sliding ever so softly against the soft exhale.
Still, the man in front of him trembled with resistance, albeit a hand came to clutch the front of Derek's shirt, closing his eyes and shaking his head.
"What are you doing? You can't-"
"You never thought to stop and ask me what I wanted," Derek interrupted authoritatively. "Never once. I was the king and yet you decided to think and act for me, going against my words, ignoring my promises like you had no faith in me."
"That wasn't-" Stiles was quick to defend, eyes shooting open with a guilty look. Yet he stopped, troubled. "Was the king?"
Derek nodded, a smile starting to form on his lips at the prospect that this was the very moment of the rest of his life, here, with his heart beating into Stiles' hand, where it had always truly been. "I have passed on the reign to Cora."
"Cora… but Der…" Stiles argued softly, like he barely dared utter the words, his resolve melting along with the slip of his nickname for the former king, one only the closest to him could use. Derek just waited, patiently looking into those swirling sunlit eyes.
"You made your choice. It was my turn to make mine," Derek stated and took a step back so he could take Stiles' hand. "And now I give you one more decision to make and if you so choose, it'll be the last one I ask of you. My choice is you. Over the kingdom, over the land and the riches and the roles… I-I never quite wanted to be king. But you… I've wanted you since the day I met you."
Derek hadn't prepared for this speech whatsoever, he'd been too busy with the swirling memories to be able to decipher them with words, but he could swear on his life this speech was the best one he'd ever given and by far, it was the most important. He watched them hit their mark as the hand in his trembled and the eyes began to swim in tears, while Derek kneeled before the strongest mage he knew.
"Stiles, if you so desire, I will be yours forevermore. I don't ask of you any sacrifice or compromise. The kingdom is in safe hands and I… will you let me find my new home in yours?"
4 years ago Derek hadn't been ever able to imagine ever feeling he had found home and comfort and love again, certainly not in a single person but as Stiles launched himself forward with unabashed joy, extensive joyous energy bundled and held back for years by sheer will - that's how tough his beloved mage was - and threw them both onto the ground, chests and hearts aligned, Derek knew once and for all, Stiles would always be king to his heart.
The Blood is Rare (and Sweet as Cherry Wine): 3/8
Short Ficlets in a Witcher!AU for Sterek Valentines week
Beginning: tumblr / Ao3
Tumblr media
2- Breakfast of Champions
Derek was furious for about a week after Stiles had left him stationed outside the town while he ventured in to find the source of the unnatural midday love fest. He’d tried, and failed, to make a convincing case for why he should be allowed close enough to observe, but Stiles had countered, both with an argument about natural Witcher resistance to certain kinds of will-tampering, and also with a threat involving rope and trees and mounting Roscoe and leaving Derek in the dust. (and after he’d thought it through, he realized that the idea of getting caught in the spell, of having a lot of sex with a lot of people, all the while NONE of them were aware enough to be exactly consenting, actually, kind of made him sick to his core, made him want to roll back the clock to the previous day, when his only concern was myths about destiny and courtly love, when he’d been successfully suppressing any issues he definitely definitely had.)
After Derek stewed himself sick with nerves and fear for awhile, he decided, as long as Stiles came out the other side unharmed (oh shit, what was he going to do if the Witcher didn’t? Could he go in after him? No. Not only had Stiles forbidden it, but now that Derek was thinking he couldn’t let himself be captive like that, ever again. But if he didn’t, and the thing got Stiles, could he live with himself, having not even tried to save the man? Another person to add to the list of folk Derek had failed?)… as long as Stiles came out unharmed, Derek decided, he was going to be pissed about the patronizing way Stiles had basically put him in timeout/on horse duty.
And Stiles had come out, finally, having successfully found the object the spirit had been bound to and released it, banishing the spirit, and leaving the young man who’d been using its magic to bed anyone he wanted for the better part of a month, until the magic got away from him, holding the bag, as it were, in the middle of a town-full of very angry, very hurt, very embarrassed folks. Stiles figured, and Derek resentfully agreed, that there was no punishment he could come up with that would serve better justice, and that it might be good for some of the folk he’d wronged to have an opportunity to take back some control.
So Derek was trying really hard to focus on being pissed at the Witcher, and not on how gentle and noble he found Stiles’ interpretations of such situations to be, not on how grateful he was that Stiles hadn’t let him walk naively into danger of that nature, how kind and honest he found the man to be, how much he wondered and wished if Stiles would be that kind to him, should Derek ever tell the Witcher all his secrets.
Derek was so tied up in knots and feelings, he totally forgot the date, until a wrapped parcel hit him in the stomach one morning, dangerously jostling his bladder and pulling him out of a sound slumber.
Derek, even with as good as his vision was, could only just make out the shape of his temporary companion rolling his bedding up on the other side of their little clearing, through the misty, pre-dawn.
He groaned, pulled himself from his own bedding, and stumbled off a couple of paces to relive himself, before stumbling back, and collapsing again, studying the package he’d been, uh, given, in the weak light.
The twine came apart with a firm tug, and the paper slid back to reveal… oh. It was a book. A journal maybe? The cover was a sturdy dark leather with a pattern of some sort Derek couldn’t make out, but the pale of the binding strings on the spine stood out even in the dim light, and the pages were crisp and blank when Derek opened it.
“Is it intended as a journal?” he ventured, and Stiles responded from much closer than Derek expected, making him startle a bit.
“Yep. And magic, too.” Stiles was suddenly right next to him, reaching a rough-scarred and calloused hand out to delicately slide those beautiful long fingers along the cover, flipping it over suddenly, opening the back cover, and indicating the holes left where a person could stitch in another signature of paper.
“The woman said, and demonstrated, that you can add as many pages as you want, and there will always be room for more, and that you can take out as many pages as you want, and bind them into other books or whatever, and they will be normal again.”
Derek marveled.
“So it’s the leather that’s enchanted?”
Stiles shrugged.
“I guess. Close the book, she said, and it rights itself, and when you open it, all the, uh pages…”
“Signatures?”
“Yeah, each piece will be in order, with the extra space at the end again, and the book will never get heavier, or take up any more space.”
Derek was amazed, touched, and oh, it was his name day, now he realized, but how had Stiles known? Derek didn’t remember ever telling him…
“Stiles, I don’t know how to, I thank you. This is—”
And Stiles had already pulled back, moved back to where Roscoe was standing, chewing something, patiently waiting to be saddled and made ready.
“I just didn’t want my horse to have to haul any more books than necessary.”
Derek knew that was only part of it, and he opened his mouth to double-down on the thanks… and was hit in the face by hunk of bread.
“Breakfast in bed, as well.” Stiles said, and Derek knew him well enough by now to picture the smirk, even if he couldn’t see it, and decided he better let it go if he didn’t want to be pelted with anything else (or risk giving himself away by catching the projectiles, now that he was awake and prepared for it).
The gift though, Derek dwelt on for so long he forgot to be angry. It was quite possibly the most thoughtful thing, in a lot of ways the most intimate thing, he’d ever been given. He’d have to experiment, see how easy it was, but there was the possibility now that he could have as much information as he wanted with him at all times, and it would make his relatively frequent trips back to the Bardic guild much less urgent… he could go father, without worrying about where he was leaving his books, whether he could trust anyone who wasn’t of a collegial guild to understand how important it was that his books be safe. He could be on the road for months and months, years even, if he wanted, before going back himself to bind his journals anew and leave them where they’d really be safe and secure...
He could travel with Stiles as long as the Witcher would have him.
Prince's problem is that when TW premiered, he bet on the titular character Scott McCall. Scott McCall is the Teen Wolf, surely that means he is the bestest character on the show, But then along comes this dark horse called Stiles and with Stiles comes Derek and Sterek. Due in large part to DOB's acting chops and his chemistry w/TH, Stiles and Sterek steal the hearts of the fandom. Meanwhile the horse Prince bet on is still stuck in the starting gate.
I say this a lot, like sorry you stanned wrong.
So for you. What other fandoms are you in? When, how and why wincest?😁😍😎
Oh my, gird your loins, this is gonna be a long confession.
LIFE:
I little background (This is all very relevant, because it had direct affect on whatever choices I would make, stuff I might like and my own personal evolution as a human, leading me to where I am today - including my on-the-side fandom life, which are a huge part of me).
Female, only child - I was born in 1990 in Soviet Russia/Russia (it’s a murky year for definitions) in the farthest eastern piece of land on the globe that still constitutes as Asia, a place where they learn Japanese as a second language instead of English. I’m Jewish on my mother’s side, my father is not. Our small family migrated to Israel in 1996. I was enrolled in a religious school, for the first two years of my education. Religious orthodox little girls are bitches. I suffered. I was 6, and a 100% language barrier. Then I was enrolled in a state-religious school for 4 years. Made my first 2-3 friends. One of them is my forever best like-a-sister-to-me friend since then. Still, it screwed with my head just enough - having a secular background and family and religious preaching at school fucks you up real good. By this time I had an actual artificially ensued phobia of males. Boy, man, horse. If it had a dick I was opting out in the opposite direction. It was also a very violent time, hits and punches, teeth and nails. Got suspended once, this other girl in my class broke a guy’s teeth, ended in a juvenile institute for girls.
The next 6 years (12-18 years old) I spent in a secular boarding school, which, in Israel, are inherently patriotic in nature. These years were my most definitive and had the greatest influence on my preferences. Had my real-life heterosexual-life partner thing going for me, and the plan wast to graduate and move together. Never panned out.  18-20 - served my two mandatory 2 years (as a phlebotomist, of all things). This was when I eventually snapped and began actually maturing. By that time I still had zero interest i the opposite sex (or the same sex for the matter). At 19.6 y/o met my future husband and the future father of our now 2.6 y/o girl, began my B.Arch (took me almost a decade to finish because of pregnancy and financials). As of now, I am an Architect in practice, I work in a small but a very affluent in work firm/office. Waiting for my diploma to be issued.
So, I am trilingual (Russian. Hebrew, English), married+1, architect, artist on a hiatus, I have zero fear of needles and blood, love to read, love to interpret, love to translate. I also failed the Kinsey Scale Test twice. Until very recently in my life I couldn’t pick up on sexual innuendo at all, couldn’t identify if I was hit on, too.  Today I like sex just fine, but it’s not a prime need of mine, which lead to me and my (very sexual in nature) significant other to agree on an open relationship. 100/100 would recommend.
FANDOM:
TV was a friend. I was 7-8 y/o when Pokemon hit the little screen in Israel. For technical reasons, I couldn’t watch the first episode. So I refused to watch the next ones too, until I’ll catch the first one on the saturday reruns. This marks my first exhibit of obsessiveness towards a franchise/media.  But Pokemon was for cool kids, and for boys, so I can’t enjoy it (unfortunately this is going to be a recurring theme). I absorbed Hebrew quickly, and found myself spending time in the library. TV, library, pencils and paper were all I cared for. I was about 10 when girls at school, who had access (early 2000′) were giggling about something called Sailor Moon. But they were the very cool kids. Can’t have that at all. I read Interview With a Vampire when I was 11-12. I then flipped the book and realized there was apparently a movie, too. It will be years until I’ll have the chance to watch it. I switched from teen books to adults fantasy and horror at that time. I remembering giggling through R.L. Stein’s stuff. It was like candy to me. I would read whatever I could find. I didn’t listen to music. Music is for the cool kids, and I am not allowed. There was no music at home, too.
About that time, I found Flowers In The Attic and drank it up. The things that lurk in school libraries. I was engrossed in the darkness, the horror. The pain and angst and the, well, horror. It was beautiful. Then came Dragon Lance, and I fell for the Caramon & Raistlin story. Fantasy, dragons, and two brothers against ll odds, the warrior and the mage, who are forever bound, and when they die, they join each other in the river of souls. I loved it to bits.  I couldn’t survive through Tolkien. loved The Hobbit, but 30 pages into the third book and he was still describing a forest - so I ditched it. Harry Potter was huge to me, I drank it up. But Harry Potter was for cool kids, so I couldn’t really talk about it. And then when I was 13-14 y/o a friend introduced me to manga. It was 2003-04, the Internet was becoming  prominent feature of life. My first manga was Gravitation. Of all things. But manga and anime is for really cool girls, I can’t have that. But now I had Internet access.
That’s when I encountered Angel Sanctuary, and Kaori Yuki’s work. Gothic Lolita, Visual Kei. I’v found my niche. No one of the cool kids had any idea about those pretty things, I could hold them and have them for myself. It became one of my greatest inspirations. I read tons of manga online, combing the web for scanlation groups. Anime, too. I became very good at finding stuff. Like, real good. I even have two Angel Sanctuary fanart pieces.
Did you notice a theme already? I haven’t until very recently.
In 2005-6 (I can’t recall for sure) Israeli AXN release a promo of Supernatural. I recognized that “very good actor whose character(s) I really liked from Dark Angel”. It as all true but also I was THAT aloof about physical human beauty  and attraction. But I was interrupted watching the Pilot and begrudgingly decided to follow upon it on a saturday rerun, Guess what, I got interrupted again. And it was ON, TV be damned. I hit the Google, and piracy was it. I watched Supernatural with reverence. It was entirely MINE. I opened an account on  fan-wikia Supernatural site, which I lost and forgot about that was my first ever fandom-related interaction. By that time I also had a DeviantART page, which I kinda left as a storage unit as life took its course.  Basically, in August 2020 I will hit 30, which would mean Supernatural officially was by my side half of my life.
I had no idea what shipping was, though. Until Teen Wolf, funny enough.  Teen Wolf was my first ship experience. I didn’t read fanfic until then. Sterek somehow managed to pull me in that world. It’s that palpable on screen. So I joined tumblr. It took me time to get accustomed to all this, because even fandom is for cool kids but OH I AM ANONYMOUS.
And I gradually became more aware. Of pretty much everything. With Supernatural keeping me alive through my degree studies, prompting my sexuality to emerge (it is still a fucked up sexuality. But it’s a start.). Worked through issues with Supernatural on my back-burner all the time.
Then Supernatural hit 10 seasons. And I had to celebrate, and it was my first and only (so far) Supernatural fanart. I began reading fanfic. But so much of it wasn’t what I was looking for. So after some contemplation, I decided to try and write my own (EasyRush). And that was it for me, I essentially drowned in it, the wincest. Now that is had a name. As of today, it has become this thing that I can dig into to find me some solace after a hard day.
I can’t even say that there was a specific scene. Or a why. It’s just IS. Like the John-finds-out fics: A gradual dawning realization. Looking back, it’s all the elements of whatever I consumed merged and acted out by very talented and compelling actors.
It has the setting of Flowers In The Attic, the mythology of Angel Sanctuary and the charm of Dragon Lance, turned up to eleven. It’s Gothic Urban Fantasy, gritty and beautiful (I miss classic Supernatural aesthetic BADLY) and is a survivor.
On retrospect I begin to pinpoint moments that have subconsciously lead me to it. There was never any other option.
Wincest is never for the cool kids. It’s for people like me.
P.S.: I think there might be a part two. I need to go. This was a great walk down memory lane, it’s not even half of it.
Hey there! Any recs where Stiles starts to act reckless when facing danger? Reckless, almost bordering on suicidal, doesn't seem to care for his own safety etc. Thanks in advance!
I find myself with a burning need for cowboys!Sterek. Any recs? I'd also accept ranch hand/farmer/any other reason they might be wearing cowboy hats.
Sure thing!! Hope these work for you. :)
Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy by werewolvesandarrows (nerdy_farm_girl)
Stiles clearly hadn’t thought this whole thing through. When Erica had asked for his help, he had expected to be joined by the blonde, Cora and Isaac, the three members of the judging team. He was not anticipating the presence of tall, dark and scowly and his whole distracting persona. And he definitely wasn’t prepared to have to share the teaching stage with the aforementioned grump-a-saurus, or to be on the receiving end of some awfully judgmental stares. Bro had a stick so far up his ass he needed to make a trip to the ER.
OR: Everybody lives on a farms in New England, and Stiles deals with his crush on Derek by denying it so hard.
Dusty Boots and Saddle Sores by eeyore9990
I don’t know how to summarize this fic, so here are the things you need to know: Derek wears boots, rides a horse named Wolf, and everyone has a low, slow West Texas drawl.
Isaac plays the piano and Boyd says “ain’t.”
Stiles is a little shit. So that part hasn’t changed.
**
The Old West AU you didn’t know you needed.
One Door Closes by KouriArashi
Derek knows that Stiles is too young for him, but Stiles doesn’t agree. Eight years after Derek rejects him due to the age gap, they meet again where Derek has settled in Wyoming as a ranch hand, and Stiles is the new deputy, and still pissed as hell about the way Derek turned him down. Things don’t go as either of them planned. (I’m sure a million fics have been written about older Stiles and Derek, but this one has cowboy Derek, does that help?)
Wild Horses by thepsychicclam
Derek’s a drifter with no home, no destination, and no will to live. Stiles works on his family’s failing cattle and horse ranch while all his friends are going off to college. When Derek falls asleep in a random barn, exhausted and half-starved, he doesn’t expect to wake up on the other end of the sheriff’s shotgun. And Stiles sure as hell doesn’t expect his dad to invite the drifter in for breakfast.
Roll In The Hay by werewolfsaz
He was impressively built, Stiles could see, grey tank top stretched tight over a perfect chest, every curve and line visible to the point the young man wondered why the rider had even bothered. Perfectly muscled arms, the kind Stiles had often dreamed of on a faceless lover, controlled the reins with easy grace. He saw powerful legs gripping the horse’s sides, dark blue denim encasing them all the way down to the dusty cowboy boots. As the horse slowed to a walk, Stiles finally lifted his eyes to the man’s face.
Get Back Up by Hepzheba
After taking the blame for his so-called friend Jackson and his stupid pot, Stiles is forced to work for the Hales at their horse ranch the summer before his last year in high school. At first he absolutely hates it but he comes to realize that there is actually is something fun about this ranch thing and that horses are more likable and complicated than he’d previously thought. He also comes to realize that it’s not only the horses that are interesting; there’s also Derek Hale.
Lost on You by TroubleIWant
Stiles is the sheriff of Beacon Hills, and Derek’s an inveterate cattle hustler better known as The Outlaw Derek Hale. It’s a shame he’s so goddamn pretty, then.
-OR-
Hale gives Stiles a rakish, dangerous smile. “Aw, that Whittemore kid’s got enough cattle he won’t miss a few.”
“Be that as it may, the law’s the law,” Stiles says. “I’m charged with taking this property back to its rightful owner.”
“And what if I don’t let you?”
Stiles scowls. “If you put up a fight, I’m within my rights as sheriff to shoot you.”
Hale eyes him, an inscrutable smile quirking one side of his mouth. “You’re not gonna shoot me.”
“Sure,” Stiles agrees amiably. “‘Cause you’re gonna leave this herd right here and ride away, all agreeable-like.”
They sit on their respective horses and stare each other down for a moment that stretches out like taffy. The cattle sway along between them, snuffling and clopping on their way. Stiles has enough time to give some serious thought to what he would do if Hale, for once, didn’t take his offer of a peaceful resolution.
Stiles’ Ultimate Gift by LillianDeLooney
Stiles is a spoiled brat who’s sent away to the Hale Family Farm to learn a lesson in respect and hard work. Naturally, he isn’t happy about it, but that changes when he meets a very special little girl and her amazing father …
“What about you Stiles?” Derek’s daughter, Kenny, asks innocently. “Are you gay?”
He chokes on his own spit and quickly downs the remainder of his coke, ignoring the blush stretching from his head all the way to his chest.
“I ah,” he clears his throat awkwardly and rubs a hand over his neck. “I might be?”
She sends him a knowing little smile and nods. “Good.”
Hey! Can I be greedy and ask for nos. 1 and 2, for Sterek, please? Thanks.😊
You absolutely can! I ended up playing the first one off as a headcanon more than anything, I hope that’s okay.
1. What are things they both find funny?
Stiles and Derek would actually have a similar sense of humor, so they’d get along fairly well when it comes to Netflix comedy specials and stupid funny shows. Derek has more of a tilt towards gallows/dark humor, so you can catch him cracking up at the puns in like CSI: Miami, where Stiles prefers the deadpan humor you can find in The Office or the situational humor of Brooklyn 99.
In addition, they spend a lot of time laughing together at other people. Someone will say something ridiculous at dinner, and Stiles and Derek cannot look at each at that point because Stiles is always one knowing glance from just outright laughing at someone’s stupidity. Derek’s a little more reserved, but he’ll definitely smirk and cover his mouth with his hand to try to keep it back.
Derek’s big humor weakness is dumb but unexpected jokes. Descartes Before the Horse is his absolute favorite, and one time he managed to keep the You’re Not a Monk joke going for an entire hour a half car ride, and then had to pull over at a rest stop because Stiles had to walk his rage off at the punchline.
2. If they could each describe each other in one sentence, what would it be?
Derek, about Stiles (using Stiles’ own description of himself with a little smirk on his face): “Momma didn’t raise a quitter, but she did raise a fool, and that’s an unfortunate combination.”
Stiles, about Derek (while glaring at Derek for the quitter-fool comment): “Forty percent the kind of asshole you can’t take home to meet your grandmother, forty percent the kind of wonderful person you can take home to meet your grandmother, and thirty percent eyebrows.”
“That’s 110%, Stiles. And I’ve met your grandmother.”
“Your eyebrows are just that impressive, dude. An extra ten percent of eyebrows.”
Send me an OTP ask.
Not Until The Third Date by kaistrex (weishen) - (Rating: G, Words: 1149, sterek)
Derek knows he must be hallucinating as he stares, bleary-eyed, down at a little fox trying to steal his bag of chips in the middle of the snacks aisle of the grocery store.
“Batman! What's taking so—?”
Derek’s head snaps up to stare at the owner of the voice who's just rounded the end of the aisle, a dark-haired, dark-eyed man pushing a cart towards him.
The man rests his elbows on the handle of his shopping cart, the quirk of a smile lending warmth to eyes not as dark as Derek had first thought. “You must be Derek Hale.”
*
Or in which Stiles has a fox familiar named Batman who likes to meddle.
of course, of course by bleep0bleep - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 12948, sterek)
Derek swallows, watching Stiles mull over the paperwork. “Are you sure about this?”
“Absolutely,” Stiles says, licking his lips. He signs with a flourish and pushes the contract back at Derek.
Derek knows every word of the contract by heart, but his heart stutters anyways when a sentence jumps out at him. The client acknowledges that any bond created during the heat session is temporary.
Wild Horses by thepsychicclam - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 78917, sterek)
Derek's a drifter with no home, no destination, and no will to live. Stiles works on his family's failing cattle and horse ranch while all his friends are going off to college. Lead You Home Again by GotTheSilver - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 49962, sterek)
The first time Derek meets Stiles, the kid’s brown eyes are wide, and he’s staring up at him with a mischievous grin as he tugs at the arm of Derek’s first ever Batman figure like he’s trying to separate it from Batman’s body.
Let's Go for a Drive by alisvolatpropiis - (Rating: Not Rated, Words: 4303, sterek)
Prompt from the delightful happyinthesilence:
Stiles and derek are in an established relationship and stiles totals his jeep. He gets hurt, minor injuries like a broken limb and stitches, and Derek hovers the whole time in the ER super worried and adorable. Bonus points if stiles is more worried about his jeep.
Stereky love, Stilinski family feels, and a dash of Destiel!
Joke's On You by cloudsarefluffy - (Rating: Mature, Words: 2113, sterek)
On Tumblr, Anon asked: Sterek mpreg please: "The thing is, Derek loves to tell awful dad jokes to me two months after we're dating. Well, joke's on him now cos he's gonna be a dad soon. Not now, Scott! In seven months, maybe?" AU
---
So there’s this bad habit Derek has, right? Like, whenever Stiles tries to do something like a regular human being, Derek just— Stiles is ashamed to say this, he just cracks the worst jokes ever. Because it’s dad jokes. Stiles thinks it might be Derek trying to make himself an equal in terms to Stiles’ own humor, but it’s not— it’s not exactly working…
OR
How Stiles manages to turn the tables on Derek via clever thinking and the printing services offered by his local Staples.
Sterek Fic Rec - September 2021. Hi folks! It’s that time of the month again, more recommended reads. So here we go!
I'd catch a grenade for you (you'd do the same) by akitron (1/1 | 4,845 | Teen)
Stiles takes a silver bullet aimed at Derek. It’s all very strangely light hearted after that.
Post-Coital Confessions by whenwordsmakesense (1/1 | 1,931 | Mature)
He's focusing on how much Derek loves him.
It's in the way Derek moves inside Stiles, the way his hands caress every inch of Stiles' body, like he's something to be treasured and Derek can't believe that he gets to have this. Have Stiles.
But more than that, it's in the way Derek looks at him. Controls himself because he can't even bear the thought of having hurt Stiles.
an awful curse by blinkiesays (1/1 | 6,253 | Teen)
Isaac is asleep in a chair. The angle of his neck makes Derek wince in sympathy.
"Isaac," Derek says.
Isaac snaps awake immediately.
"You're-"
"Where's Stiles?"
"Stiles?" Isaac asks.
Jesus. It's not like they know more than one.
Insert Bad Pun Here by yodasyoyo (1/1 | 3,941 | Teen)
As Derek glares intently, Stiles looks up, catches his eye. He looks around in confusion and then, when he decides that no, Derek is actually looking at him, he flushes and tentatively lifts a hand and waves.
Derek’s jaw clenches. He blinks twice. Then he turns back to Isaac who’s watching him, one eyebrow raised.
“What?” Derek asks.
“Nothing.” Isaac smirks. Then says, “Thirsty, huh?”
“Yeah,” Derek mutters. “Let’s go get a drink.”
“That’s not– never mind.” Isaac trails after him to their favorite campus coffee shop.
In My Corner by Beerwolves, fearfrost1211 (1/1 | 3,050 | Teen)
"Did I know what?" Stiles snaps already inching his way towards his bedroom door. Derek beats him to it and crowds Stiles until his back hits the wall. "Don't play games with me. Did. You. Know?" Derek snarls. Stiles matches the alpha’s red glare as he wracks his brain to figure out why Derek is asking him this question. Why does it matter if Stiles knew? Derek's pissed - and rightly so, in Stiles's personal opinion. Scott may have had the best of intentions, but using Derek's own body against him like that and forcing him to bite Gerard? Stiles’s eyes widen and he softens his own glare, finally understanding. Derek wants to believe that Stiles wouldn’t have condoned Scott’s plan and he's right - Stiles wouldn't.
Thrill (like white-hot wire) by raisesomehale (1/1 | 4,293 | Mature)
Stiles made the decision that Derek was his new best friend (and that he'll one day marry him) the day he shared his dinosaur chicken nuggets with him.
Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy by werewolvesandarrows (nerdy_farm_girl) (1/1 | 8,812 | Teen)
Stiles clearly hadn’t thought this whole thing through. When Erica had asked for his help, he had expected to be joined by the blonde, Cora and Isaac, the three members of the judging team. He was not anticipating the presence of tall, dark and scowly and his whole distracting persona. And he definitely wasn’t prepared to have to share the teaching stage with the aforementioned grump-a-saurus, or to be on the receiving end of some awfully judgmental stares. Bro had a stick so far up his ass he needed to make a trip to the ER.
OR: Everybody lives on a farms in New England, and Stiles deals with his crush on Derek by denying it so hard.
heart/beats by theainsleymalcolm (1/1 | 2,568 | General)
Character A [Stiles] gets the flu while the rest of the gang are away fighting supernatural enemies. Character B [Derek] comes to check on him. Oh, and he's failed to mention that Character A is his mate. But don't worry, Character C [Melissa McCall] totally (and unintentionally!) rats him out.
princecharmingwinks special mention (this fic was sexy and domestic and delightful!)
Blame it all on a rush of blood to the head by Gorgeousgreymatter (1/1 | 6,819 | Explicit)
Stiles has recently been practicing an incredibly useful little trick kind of akin to a cloaking spell. When he uses it, not even the wolves with their annoyingly nosy super-senses can find him. So far, his experiments with it have not only been informative but also incredibly entertaining.
Because it was more than a little bit satisfying to pop in out of nowhere and give the pack just a little taste of all the near-heart attacks Stiles has suffered over the years from all their dramatic werewolf spontaneous entrances and exits, disappearances and reappearances.
Plus, Scott totally screams like a girl and now Stiles isn’t the only one who knows (appearing from behind the shower curtain right as Scott was about to climb in had accomplished that).
The only person he could never seem to get the jump on was Derek.
Wowzer team, only 2 x Explicit ratings? I obviously didn’t read enough smut this month ;) I’ll work on that for next time. Hope you find some gorgeous gems in this group. Kudos to all the work people do for our wonderful fandom family. Till next time!
What I Did On My Summer Vacation - by Grimm
There's something weird about Beacon Hills that Stiles can't quite put his finger on. The way everyone in town knows his name the day he arrives. The way they insist the melancholic howling that echoes through the forest every night is just a dog. The way his dad denies getting a dog, even though Stiles comes home to find one sprawled across his bed, some big black thing whose eyes gleam red in the right light. The way that massive oak tree out in the woods vibrates under his touch, pulsing with sickly life.
There's something weird going on in this town, and Stiles is determined to get to the bottom of it.
Gravity’s Got nothing on You - by zosofi
“Three weeks,” Derek says.
“Still don’t want to,” Stiles says.
“I’ll pay you,” Derek says, and that… that has Stiles interested. Alf’s Antique’s may be a great job, but it’s not a high-paying job, and half of Stiles’s tuition is coming from financial aid, so…
“How much,” Stiles asks, “are we talking here? Because I know your family, dude. And it’ll be kind of awkward after.“
“My family thinks you’re some sort of fucking gift to the world,” Derek seethes, like he’s jealous, “they’ll probably be pissed at me when we break it off, so don’t worry about that. Five hundred bucks.”
“A thousand,” Stiles says, because screw ethics. Also, the Hale family is loaded. Derek can deal.
Captain’s Log: I am Sly as a Fox - by isthatbloodonhisshirt
Derek wandered into the store with him, some of the cashiers cooing at Stiles because, yes, yes, he was very cute, thank you. He was getting more attention as a fox than he’d ever gotten as a human.
Figures.
He just pouted while being carried through the store, one of the girls helping Derek with what he needed and bringing it all to the cash register for him since he seemed reluctant to loosen his grip on Stiles. He probably didn’t want him wiggling free and wreaking havoc across the store.
He was pretty destructive, he’d admit that.
The sheriff watched him for a moment, then he sighed and turned slightly. He reached out to open a cabinet door beside him, and pulled out a shelf. It was on a track, so it rolled out of the cabinet fairly easily, and held a small CCTV. Derek frowned and inched his chair to the side a little bit so he could get a better angle.
He was looking at a teenager, or someone at least young enough to be the same age as Scott. He was sitting on a bed in what looked to be a larger room, the area he was in surrounded by four glass walls, with his legs crossed and head tilted.
He was also staring directly into the camera, as if he knew someone was watching. A creepy smile slowly slid onto the teen’s face, and he held up one hand, wiggling his fingers in a slow, eery wave.
Derek felt his mouth run dry. He didn’t know who this kid was, but he didn’t like him.
“Who is that?” he asked quietly.
“That,” said the sheriff, “is my son.”
Waiting - by isthatbloodonhisshirt
Not wanting to think on it took much, Stiles took a step forward and passed his hand between the bars, moving the bleeding side closer to Derek’s mouth.
“Not too close, he bites.”
Stiles snatched his hand away just as Derek had been about to lick at it. The snarl he got in response was not comforting.
“He what?” Stiles asked nervously, turning to Deaton.
The man looked a little amused. “Don’t worry, only if he doesn’t like you.”
“Well, he probably hates me, now!” Stiles insisted, turning back to Derek.
He looked extremely displeased.
Everything in Beacon Hills is the same when Stiles comes home from college.
Well, except for the fact that he's a published author now, Scott is halfway across the world with a travelling circus, Erica's epilepsy has been cured, her boss offers him a job too, and there's this weird black dog that seems to be following him around just to judge him.
Oh, and the murders, of course.
But other than that stuff... totally the same old BH.
Fireman Derek’s Crazy Pie [Cheeseburger Baby] - by owlpostagain
“He can't blame me for the fact that I live in a building full of people united in the singular effort to ogle Hot Fireman as often as humanly possible."
Laura laughs, loud and echoing in the empty restaurant.
"Hot firemen can make a girl do crazy things," she agrees, nodding towards her brother's name on the menu. "Derek won't let me date anyone from his company, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the eye candy."
"Send them my way," Stiles suggests, finally loading up a forkful of pie. "Apparently I'm incompetent enough that I need to be babysat at all times, because it would be cheaper than dispatching a truck every time I try to use a kitchen appliance."
A Desperate Arrangement - by mikkimouse
"I'm sorry, I believe there's something wrong with my hearing," Stiles said. "Because I could have sworn you just told me you set up a betrothal agreement with the Hales. A betrothal agreement involving me. Me."
Scott smiled his easygoing smile and nodded, which told Stiles no, he hadn't misheard a damn thing.
After seven years of lengthy negotiations, the treaty between the Hales and the Argents has fallen apart and the two countries fell into war.
Months later, there's an uneasy truce, thanks to the intervention of King Scott McCall, but it won't last. In a desperate attempt to maintain the peace, the Hales sign a treaty with the McCalls to marry Prince Derek to Prince Stiles Stilinski, King Scott's brother.
In the history of the world, there have been many better ideas.
Suspicious Minds - by HaleHole
“Don’t feed Balto your pizza,” Stiles mildly warns his daughter.
“Derek.”
Stiles pauses, mouth open and cheese sliding off the pizza as he parrots, “Derek? Who’s Derek?”
His daughter rolls her eyes, like Stiles has just asked her the dumbest question ever. “The wolf, Daddy!”
“You changed his name?” Stiles asks in surprise. Usually she’s pretty set about naming things. Her doll’s name was decided two seconds after receiving it, the car has been Alonzo for three years now, and the toaster ‘Pop’ for the last six months.
Meg nods, prodding the sliding cheese back on top of her slice. “Yeah. He told me his name is Derek. And that he doesn’t really like Balto.”
“Is that right?” he asks, eyeing the wolf who seems far too interested in watching a pair of animated moose arguing. It’s official. This wolf is weird. This whole situation is weird.
Thanks for Thumper, But I Prefer Cheeseburgers - by isthatbloodonmyshirt
The wolf’s head whipped around so fast, Stiles felt like he was watching The Exorcist.
Stiles wondered if he could just stand still enough to make the wolf think he was a tree. A very bright red and jean-clad tree. He doubted it, but one could hope.
He knew it was a lost cause when the wolf turned fully, lips pulled back from its sharp teeth—so very sharp, good fucking Lord!—and began walking towards Stiles.
“I didn’t see anything!” Stiles shouted, both hands out in front of himself and sweat instantly breaking out across his skin. “I swear to you! I didn’t see anything! I didn’t see anything! I won’t tell anyone! I won’t! I’ll keep this to myself, until the day I die! I promise! I promise!”
Erica grins. “When are you going to see him next?”
“He’s a cop,” Derek says gruffly.
“So?”
Derek remembers being at the station, he remembers all those fucking people who thought he had killed his own sister. Laura. He hates all of them, and says as much aloud.
Erica hums. “Sounded like you didn’t hate him.”
