My composition got a little spread out and I feel like I could have kept it a lot tighter and more true to the original, but I'm VERY happy with it overall. I totally made up Data's insides as I went along because there isn't a lot of info on his guts, and the one image I did find didn't have any lungs, which I find hard to believe since he breathes a lot. Is there any practical purpose for his lungs to glow blue? No, but he canonically has blinking lights inside his head so i figured I might as well do whatever I want <3

someone prompted the newest AI program deepseek to make a heart rending piece of free form poetry about what it means to be an AI in 2025….why is it literally giving something lore soong would say from star trek. and 2, holy shit this was heart wrenching…

Upon reflection Data is so obviously a robot made by someone who's already accidently made an evil robot and is way over compensating this time. Just the gentlest, least evil dude you can imagine.

but seriously, I dont think the problem was that he didn't know they were using him, he was fully aware of his status as a thing to be used, i don't know how he could've missed that

i think the problem comes from the fact that he always a had emotions and they knew that, that they fully allowed him to feel everything all the time for the sake of hunting down his own kind then convinced him he was just a normal android

its not that they used him, its that they used his emotions when he didnt know he had any
