Carry The Moon / Part 3
Xiangli Yao x Reader
Summary: From first meetings to searching your voice in every room, how very intriguing youâve become to him.
As a spirited adventurer, youâre used to a life of action and impulse, having little interest left for the world of data and deduction. But when you stumble upon a rare mineral, you find yourself drawn to the unexpected warm soul that resides within the logic-stricken researcher Xiangli Yao. And as your practical instincts clash with his world of science, sparks fly in more ways than one.
Part 1 ~~~ Part 2 ~~~ Part 3
When Xiangli Yao enters the Academy this morning, his eyes instinctively search for your presence. Perhaps heâll catch a glimpse of you in the archives or hear the trace of your voice echoing somewhere in the hallways.
He has noticed your reluctance towards the art of science, and perhaps even the Academy as such. And yet, he finds it â you - amusing, in a way itâs impossible for him to deny. Your presence, along with your effortless humour has brought a refreshing change to his usual structured days and the rigid atmosphere of the Academy.
With one last subtle glance around the Academyâs halls â gathered with people who arenât you â a certain strange sense of disappointment settles over him, and thus his day goes on in its usual rhythm.
---
Your sole reason for returning to the Academy is to ask Xiangli Yao about the data logs he sent you yesterday morning.
But the moment you reach the archives in the late afternoon, you stop dead in your tracks as you notice the stuffed crowd of people. And up there on the pedestal? None other than Xiangli Yao himself.
Wait, heâs a teacher? Or professor. Or whatever else his fancy title is.
You havenât been aware. Then again, with his rank and brainpower, itâd be a waste not to have him teach other smarties.
And itâs quiet. Like seriously dead quiet for a class. You can hear the sound of your shoes scuffing the polished floor, thatâs how hard everyone is clinging to his every word.
Great.
With no way out that wouldnât cause a fuss, youâre stuck here for the rest of the lecture. At least youâve found refuge in the farthest corner of the room, where you can at least breathe normally.
Then your eyes settle on Yao. And as much as youâve made fun of the zombie-like scholars around you, your words come back to bite your ass the second you start listening to him. It isnât⊠itâs not quite what heâs teaching â something about auto-mechanics, or whatever. But it is more the way he is drawing you in. Drawing every one in. An older guy next to you is fervently writing along in his little notebook, not daring to miss a word that leaves Yaoâs mouth.
Damn it, heâs good. For a science guy.
He manages to pull the crowd into his world, making it seem like he genuinely cares about the publicum. Which, knowing what youâve learned about him so far, he most likely does.
Xiangli Yao is standing next to the blackboard, gesturing to a few sketches to emphasize his explanations. âMany times, in your careers, you will find yourself at a dead-end, caught between what seems possible and what feels just beyond reach.â
He circles a particular sketch and crosses out another one. âIt is inevitable to face the limits of your knowledge, and research wonât always bring you forward.â
His gaze sweeps across the room, ensuring he makes eye contact with as many students as possible. Then his eyes find a familiar face among the crowd of listeners.
Your eyes meet and you couldâve sworn his expression softens for a second.
âBut sometimes,â he continues still holding your gaze, âyou will only bypass that blockage with enough dedication, courage and of course a little bit of madness.â
An amused smirk tugs at your lips, knowing full well the subtle nod in his words was directed at you.
Once the lesson has ended, quite the crowd of students immediately gathers around him and starts swarming him with questions and requests for further explanations.
You remain standing a little stand-off-fish-like in your little corner, waiting for him to handle his affairs. Heavens, you hate that feeling of being crammed into a room, even if âs a whole-ass lecture hall.
âUnauthorised personnel are not permitted to attend or observe lessons.â
Too caught up in your thoughts, it takes you a minute to realize the man is addressing you. You blink, turning to him. âHm?â
âThese lessons could contain sensitive information or discussions, not yet approved for public dissemination. Please remain outside.â
You take a step back, eyes falling to the name card pinned on his chest that reads Shiyan. But itâs the monocle and his air superiority that outs him as a clearly pompous ass.
There you go. A true member of the Academy. Youâve already started to get worried that Xiangli Yao is messing up your statistics with his unforeseen kindness and all.
You drag your gaze back up to Shiyanâs eyes, which are fixed on you with thinly veiled contempt.
You lift your chin slightly, meeting his stare. âIâm here on commission. Do you want my pass?â You donât exactly have a pass â just that commission from Mortefi a few days ago. But that should do its job if you use the right words.
But Shiyan, too, is persistent. âIâm sorry, but I must still ask you to wait outside until authorized personnel will retrieve you. This room is not for the common folk.â
Common folk, my ass. What is this? You huff at his arrogance. âThis is basically a library. Iâm not here to steal your precious knowledge.â
âMortefi will not be pleased to have a-â
But whatever subtle insult he is about to throw at you next, the words get stuck in his throat.
âShiyan,â Xiangli Yaoâs voice is gentle, but firm. âThank you for your concern, but y/n is authorized to be here. They are my partner in a project weâre conducting.â
You look towards Yao, grateful for his interference, otherwise this might have ended up slightly awkward. His eyes find their way to you for a moment, before focusing back on his colleague.
Shiyanhesitates, clearly reluctant to have you stroll around his holy Academy halls, but in the end, he complies with a stiff incline of his head. âPlease, next time, ensure your guests wait outside the lecture hall, Mr. Xiangli.â
Yao nods in return, and Shiyan finally leaves.
Tipping your head back against the wall, you regard Yao with a blissful expression âAlright, partner. Are you free of duty now?â
A smile tugs at the corner of his lips, making some dimples appear as he turns to you. âYes. Iâm all yours now.â
âOh, Iâm afraid, you shouldnât say those things, pretty boy.â
---
âSpeaking of,â you exclaim a little while later, turning around and leaning back against the counter in his workshop. âI noticed some discrepancies in your notes to what I saw at the Sea of Flames.â
Xiangli Yao leans forward in his seat. âDiscrepancies? Of what sort?â
âIn your reports, youâve mentioned the blue kind of Ardores Lapis. But when I went back yesterday morning, I found crystals in different colours. Similar structure, but definitely not the same. I could be wrong of course, and it might be a different species altogether. But⊠does that ring any bells?â
âA new species?â Yaoâs brows furrow in thought. âHuh, I havenât come across that specific aspect in any of my research. If that's true and there are variations of the crystalâŠâ
His expression shifts into one youâve become familiar with over these past days. Zoning out, mentally connecting dots, running through the endless data the man has stored in that brain of his. Clearly, the revelation of anomalies has left him quite intrigued.
You let him pounder for a bit, your gaze idly wandering across his workshop. The high ceilings, with lamps hanging low, cast the room with a bluish glow. It should feel stifling, but somehow, youâre rather hit with an unexpected wave of calmness instead.
âCould I ask you for yet another favour?â
You turn to meet his eyes. âDamn, youâre about to be the main contributor to this weekâs salary,â you joke. Sort of⊠âShoot, prof.â
âWould you allow me to join you on yet another trip to the Sea of Flames?â
You canât help but raise a sceptical eyebrow. âUm⊠sure. But as youâve noted, itâs not exactly an all-sunshine and rainbow place. There are a lot of TDs gathering there.â
âAre you questioning my combat abilities?â He tilts his head and smiles, and the way his eyes look at you makes your heart skip a beat. âI appreciate your concern, but I can assure you, my skills as a resonator and fighter wonât weigh you down. I promise. Besides, I'd like to test out the new update I added to my mecha arm in the field.â
Your gaze flickers to his prosthetic arm, noticing the resonator insignia there for the first time. A true wonder of the stars.
âVery well. But if I have to save your ass, Iâm doubling my fee.â
âDeal.â
Being more of a lone wolf, youâre not exactly used to having someone join you on missions - let alone in a fight. And a part of you dreads to be responsible not just for your own life, but also for the life of the damn protĂ©gĂ©e science guy with eyes deeper than the universe.
Thank you so much for reading! Comments and reblogs are so appreciated

(Different Anon here, I hear we're sending in fan fics, feel free to post if you want.)
âDr. Pines, I was wondering if you can tell me about yourselfâ Dr. Oleander was leaning against the counter in her office. On the examination table sat a man she's only known for the past months. He was first brought to her with injuries so severe she was amazed that he was still able to move. She was worried for the man and asked him to make follow up appointments at least once a month so she can monitor him. For the most part he was good On his word but there we times he ether cut it close to this appointment time or did both showing up at all.
The next time they would meet he would he would express his deep apologies but his âMuseâ didn't see the point to the more frequent doctor visits, after all he hasn't been to a doctor in over 25 after all. He only allowed the first after his âMuseâ grew tired of him vomiting blood everywhere, and wasn't able to move after intense abdominal pains, as if they were the man's fault. After the second visit (the follow up to make sure the medication was working) they grew close and bonded over there love of science. And then on the third visit the man gave her a dead mouse as a token of his appreciation. As disturbing as it was it was endearing, and it reminded of her cat, Calamari, if it were any other patient she would be highly concerned for sure, but what little she did know about him she knew it was the only way he knew how to express affection. In short his life was more concerning then the dead animals he gave her. She desperately wanted him to seek mental help for his trama but he adamantly denied it saying nothings wrong and if he did he deserves it and how he should be grateful that his muse is merciful for putting up with his past problems.
She thought long and hard, if she were to help him she would have to get creative and probably break a few HIPAA violations. So after a few more visits to regain his trust she decided it was time. He was the last appointment of the day and asked if he could stay longer she told him it was to help fill in his medical charts and to record data, and promised him a lollipop for his help. These were two things he couldn't resist the promise of scientific research and food.
He looked At her confused with a lollipop pop in his mouth. She asked again, âDr.Pines? Could you please tell me some more about you.â
To Ford what was originally routine physical Examination and quality time with someone he could trust, was turning well off. His Doctor had already been aware of himself, a man mid 60s he thinks it was hard to keep track of time in the bubble and time flew when he was with his beloved muse. He loved science and had an interest in biology, with a particular interest in lepidoptery (the study of moths.) And more importantly he did everything for his muse. He lives and breathes for the sake of him, he loved him and In return Ford knew he was special to his muse, and that made it all worth it.
âDr. Pines I know this is difficult but I need this information for your chart.â The doctor continued. âPlease start from the beginning, your childhood, if you would be so kind.â
The beginning. He didn't like thinking about any time before he came to his senses with his muse. To him they were the dark times, without the guiding light of his muse how did he even manage to live before his muse.
What was there to say really? He was born to an ex-concrete pourer turned pawn shop owner, and a pathological liar who made a career of being a fake phone psychic. He had 2 brothers, one older and one younger. The Doctor already knew about the younger one Stanley, his twin and the only one he had been in contact with post muse. They lived in a small beach town in Jersey. He was born a freak and was bullied all throughout his adolescent years, for it.
Then there was static. Then the next thing he remembers he was at college. He couldn't remember why he went to Backupsmore but he did and met a man he could call his friend. Fiddleford, he was a genius mechanical engineer, you name it he could build it. He supposed That was the reason Ford called him up one day to help him with a project. Again static.
It was a few years After his graduation he moved to a small town in Oregon. He spent many days hiking the surrounding woods in search of answers to the strange and unusual. One day he found it. From the paintings on a cave wall he found a way to summon a being from another dimension, the beings name was Bill, Stanfordâs Muse, the light of his life, his shining star, beacon of hope, his lord and master. He informed Ford that there was a way to bridge his lowly inferior world to that of a gods'. And like the loyal man he was he got to work straight away. He called up friend who was squandering his potential with what he called a computermajig, a waste of time Ford thought.
The beginning stages were wonderful. His Muse, was lead them on the path of greatness, and with the aid of a friend the impossible was possible. That was until it all wentâŠ. More static filled the events that transpired on that day. He didn't like thinking about it to begin with. the day he-he⊠The thought alone brought him great shame to begin with, he hated that he once resisted⊠only flashes of anger, Betrayal, hurt, pain⊠an unbelievable amount of pain⊠he deserved everything second of it, after all he went against His muse. It was a rough 5 years. Most of it was spent chained up, starved, and severely dehydrated. More static. But in the end it was okay, thanks to his muse steering him on the correct path. How foolishly he was. After an eternity alone in a small dark room, his muse finally came and rescued him. He reward Stanford with his first meal in weeks and water life saving water he lovingly put more minerals in for him.(in reality the meal was nothing more then a dead rat and gutter water) He was always looking out for him even when he new he shouldn't have deserved it. But his Muse found it in his heart to forgive him so Stanford did the only thing he could think of to thank the being that saved him. He turned on the portal.
In the years since the activation of the portal. Stanford learned to be the perfect pet for his muse. When he was good he was rewarded with Jellybeans, and good dreams that served as revenge fantasies (take that Crampelter, 6 fingers are better then none, who's the Freak now). Sometimes he slips he doesn't mean too of course how could he intentionally do something that angerd his Muse. His Muse would try and correct the behavior, whether it be withholding food or isolation. Ford couldn't stress this enough it was his fault his Muse did this to him in the first place. He needed To be perfect for him, so he could finally recognize his devotion. So for now he'll sleep on a dog bed, eat the scientist Kibble, and attend the dog shows (which always ended badly and he spent the rest of his night sulking in the back of Dr. Oleanderâs car.) He would happily do any of that if his Muse required it. He's fine what would a doctor know about this anyway. No one could understand.
Dr. Oleander was starting to regret this tactic. After she asked her patient a rather personal question, she just watched him stare off into space, his eyes devoid of any life. She tried to speak to him again, but nothing registered. It was 30 minutes of intense silence. The best she could do was work on the much need paperwork until her patient came through. It wasn't much longer after her final bit of paperwork was finished when a small voice apologized, thinking he might have dozed off for a second. She lied to him, saying that it was alright she saw how tired he was, and he deserved the sleep. She gave him his prescription and a few more of her lollipops for the road. The man seemed more interested in the sweets then the life-saving medicine. She led him to the front door and offered him a ride back. He politely denied the request, seeing how the weather was pleasant enough for a walk. She wished him the best and gave Him a date and time for their next appointment and reminded him to floss more as per Dr. Ibis instructions. He smiled politely back at her and continued on his way. Once back in the safety of her office, she took down a notebook and scribbled more notes on her patient. At the end of her notes, she put down one more thought like it was a wish to the universe. âI hope Dr. Pines eventually gets the help he needs.â

Maybe it's for the best he didn't actually say anything...
(Poor bby!!! I love ittttt)

The majority of cases are mild - 1
A mysterious virus is spreading through the city, leaving men with, among other symptoms, disproportionate bubble butts. Mayor Tan speaks in a press briefing while his team debates how long they can keep the situation--and their boss's posterior--under control; Devon, before he ever makes it to the clinic, comes to realize the treatment may not be working with his severe case; and Neil, an ardent journalist, goes to the lab determined to get some information about the crisis.

[ ass expansion // bubble butt ]
3102 words
I decided to keep playing around with the ass expansion virus idea (see: previous rambles). I thought a 'triptych' approach might be kind of fun, with three vignettes that are part of an interconnected moment. Which leaves room for a different combination of perspectives told with each part (assuming I ever get around to continuing this). A close second for the title was (thanks to @embarrassedanon !) "Flattening the Curve."

I
âMy team has been monitoring the situation, and they assure me, there is nothing to worry about at this time. The majority of cases areââ
âMayor Tan!â came an insistent voice at the back of the press briefing. âMr. Mayor, have you seen the latest data about infection rates? Whatâs your response to the uptick weâre seeing inâŠâ
âUgh, this guy again,â Ana muttered to the lanky man hovering next to her, both of them posted up just off stage.
Her attention could only last so long for this particular reporter whoâd been incessantly crying wolf about this mysterious virus for months. She kept her focus on Mayor Tan, her lips moving along with his response, carefully scripted by her.
âOur rapid response team is world class and will move accordingly when specific thresholds are passed, came the mayorâs voice, as if through Anaâs soundless lips. âUntil then, we encourage folks to be careful, but currently there is no need to panic.â
âThatâs the guy from The Herald, right?â asked Jay, visibly unused to being even proximate to the spotlight. âHeâs been maintaining this super useful data viz dashboard keeping track of the outbreakââ
âNot outbreak,â Ana corrected in a harsh whisper. âIt is technically not an outbreak. Weâre monitoring the situation until we can determine the appropriate designation for the spread of thisâŠmedical anomaly. We donât need some journalist sowing panic before then.â
Jay, a full head taller than his superior, still managed to collapse in on himself under the heat of her side-eye. âI just think,â he stammered under his breath. âI mean, as the Public Health Advisor to the mayorâs office, I have someâŠconcernsâŠâ
âAnd as the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Mayor, I will let you know if, how, and when your concerns become the mayorâs concerns.â Ana graced him with a half turn of her face and a practiced, professional smile before turning back to the briefing.
â...like Iâve said repeatedly, we will let you know everything we know as we know it,â said Mayor Tan, hands held out in reassurance. âItâs still early days with this situation, and I know weâve got plenty other things to cover in this briefing. How about one more before we move on to more pressing matters?â
âMayor Tan,â began a reporter, âyour team was still intimating that this was a hoax just last week. Why have you shifted that stance?â
He rested his palms on the podium and chuckled to himself. âI donât think thatâs the word we used, but our team believes in science, not pseudoscience, and we act on concrete data, not social media theories.â He shifted his posture, his fitted suit jacket bunching up over an eye catching posterior on the thirty-five year old politician. âAs reliable data becomes available and newâŠdevelopments occur, we shift our messaging and our strategies.â
Ana whispered along verbatim. Sheâd been guiding the mayor through his entire political career, knew him better than anyone else at this point. Working class beginnings, son of immigrants, got into a prestigious college, came back to the city to become a community organizer, got a Masters in Public Policy, won a City Council seat through a brilliant grassroots campaignâorganized by herâand now sat in the Office of the Mayor. He was starting to get national attention, not just for his policies, but also his engaging demeanor, whip smart discursive abilities, and the toned, 6â0â frame on display during games of pickup soccer at his local community center. He was an eligible bachelor racking up social media views and a humble public servant who still took the bus to City Hall every morning. He was the kind of young, progressive leader that people needed to believe in right now, and both their sights were already set higher.
âI just,â Jay snapped her out of her reverie. âI just think we could be a little more proactive about this.â He showed her his phone, which displayed the latest statistics visualized by The Herald. Her eyes traced a line that had been lazily rolling up over the past several weeks, but was beginning to crook upward at a worrying angle.
âLook,â she sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. âWeâre taking this seriously, weâre all taking this seriously. But the last thing this city needs is panic over someâŠBBL virus.â
âThatâs notâthe official terminology isââ
âMale Gluteal Hyperâyeah yeah yeah, I know,â she said with a subtle, sharp wave of her hand. âI also got that memo. But thereâs a lot at play here and a lot at stake. Weâre about to get our signature public transport expansion through the council, weâre finalizing contract negotiations with the municipal workersâ union, weâve almost got the affordable housing plan through the budgetary process. We havenât even announced the gubernatorial campaign yet and the polls are already showing a tight race. I know you care deeply about this and youâre brilliant at what you do, but so am I. You have to trust me to play this carefully and play it right. Imagine what we could accomplish from the governorâs mansion, letâs not let thisâŠabsurd situation derail everything.â
âYesâŠyes, maâam,â said Jay. He refocused on the briefing, the mayor having taken off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves as he settled into his usual rapport with the press, shifting his hips back as he leaned over the podium. âBut do we have a plan in place forâŠthat?â He gestured slightly with his chin to the prodigious bubble butt straining the young mayorâs fitted slacks.Â
âFor what,â replied Ana with a quirk of her lips. âThe Mayorâs last physical was, as you know, just last month, and, as you know, heâs in excellent condition.â
âYes,â said Jay carefully, âbut that physical was severalâŠpant sizes ago.â The mayor was famous for staying physically active and notably in great shape, but his glutes and hamstrings looked disproportionate compared to just a few weeks ago, crammed into a pair of slacks that had already been adjusted multiple times but still looked liable to burst at any second. âHas he been diagnosed yet?â
âMm mm mm,â Ana playfully scolded, her attention still locked in to the mayorâs practiced responses. âWe donât use that word until we need to. Fluctuations that may or may not happen with the mayorâs weight are not public concern, his personal tailor signed a solid NDA, and besidesâŠâ she once again synced up with the mayor as he gave his parting thoughts and began to walk off stage, carefully controlling his gait to de-emphasize the overdeveloped cheeks switching back and forth behind him.
âThe majority of cases areââ

â--mild! Mild. I know, I get it, youâve said that plenty of times.â Devon held his phone at armâs length out of frustration as the disembodied customer service voice continued to reassure him that there was little to worry about. âLook, Iâve been taking the over the counter meds for three days, and Iâm notâŠâ his voice lowered, âIâm not seeing any improvement.â
âWe suggest you take those for a week at the onset of symptoms. You started noticing the gluteal swelling three days ago?â
âCloser to threeâŠumâŠweeksâŠago,â he muttered, resting his face in his palm. âI just didnât knowâŠdidnât think thatâŠdidnât want toâŠâ
âAsk about the clinic!â came his roommateâs voice from the next room.
âRight, the clinic! Thereâs a clinic, right? Do I need to get a referral?â
âUnfortunately,â responded the voice. âThatâs for our more severe cases, and capacity is very limited.â
âWell this case feels pretty severe,â Devon hissed, exasperation entering his voice as he gripped his morning coffee. âI only have so many work from home days and IâŠâ he breathed deep, âIâm ripping through all my office slacks. If I can even get them over myâŠmyââÂ
âYes, well thatâs to be expected. There are some great online forums popping up for men with your condition. DIY sewing on the fly, retrofitting your car, fashion inspo, the best supportive accessories, office furniture tipsâŠâ
âI donât think I need toâI just donât think theâŠsymptoms are weakening. Maybe thereâs a stronger treatment?â
A drawn out pause on the other end, until finally a pensive breath out. âOkay. Let me see what I can do. Keep taking the medication and weâll get back to you.â
Click.
Devon punched the air. Heâd accomplished basically nothing but at least he had the illusion of some solution to the hefty buns ballooning behind him. He felt acutely the jiggle of his cheeks as he strolled into the living room, where his roommate, Leo, was reading emails while the local news played in the background.
â...we encourage folks to be careful, but currently there is no need to panicâŠâ
âSince when are they livestreaming the mayorâs press briefings?â asked Devon.
âSince that.â Leo pointed toward the corner of the screen, which featured The Heraldâs graph of new cases, ending with that worrying upward curve.
Devon sighed, rested his hands on his oversized glutes. He gave them a squeeze, sending a shiver of pleasure up his spine. âThen I guess itâs fitting Iâm working from home again.â He rolled his eyes.
âYeah dude, I assumed based on whatâs not fitting,â said Leo, holding up the tattered remains of Devonâs pants, strewn angrily to the floor. âDid you get into the clinic?â
âUgh, no. Maybe? I donât know. Probably not.â Devon, clad only in striped bikini briefs and a button down, flopped onto the couch harder than expected. âThey mostly gave me tips aboutâŠretrofitting my car?â
âOh, I have a cousin that could help with that. He caught it last month right at the beginning of some trip with his friends, then everybody caught it, and they couldnât find the meds at a pharmacy anywhere until they got back. They almost got in trouble for public indecency on the flight back because none of their pantsâŠyou knowâŠanyway, he like, got a more spacious setup installed in his car. It looks pretty sweet.â
Devon groaned.
âBut you wonât have to do that!â Leo rubbed his roommateâs shoulder and gave him a reassuring squeeze. âI mean, he looked like he was smuggling beach balls last I saw him. Youâll be fine, youâre nowhere near that stage.â
âNot yet,â Devon sighed. Three weeks, he scolded himself. After his pancake butt suddenly started putting on mass after years of working out, those first several days were great. He was riding the high of attention and compliments as his perky bubble butt steadily inflated into a donk. After a week, Leo was the first to suggest that maybe it wasnât just the new leg day routine causing him to fill out his pants so well. Devon demurred, enjoying his fat ass so much that he didnât notice the attention begin to shift, the stares taking on a different tone, comments becoming mixed with concern, mockery, lust. By the time he was staring down at a positive test, the melons stretching his briefs to the limit were evidence enough. The hemispheres of his backside were now comical, quickly approaching colossal, and nothing seemed to be slowing them down. If that wasnât severe enough, what was?
Extricating himself from the couch was becoming an ordeal because of the constant shift of his center of gravity. His cheeks bounced wildly as he shuffled to his room, peeling off the bikini briefs with relief so he could slip into a more comfortable pair of extra spacious harem pants. Before he could open the drawer, his eyes locked on to the ten inch teal tower of floppy silicone cock on top of the dresser.
His back arched in anticipation, hole twitching with need as he fell onto the bed, the globes of his ass jiggling out of control and sending waves of pleasure. Of all his symptoms, the increased sensitivity had hit almost as hard as his skyrocketing libido, leading to a newfound enthusiasm for all manner of large and unique toys. Silver linings, I guess, he said to himself with a wry smile, reaching for the lube.
As he lost himself in a pool of morning pleasure, which, he had to admit, was becoming a more than daily thing, his phone sat abandoned on the kitchen counter. Occluded by his muffled moans face down in his pillow, he couldnât hear it ring.

âHello Devon, this is Randiâwith an iâat Phantasy Labs. Iâm following up from your call. We may have an option for cases like yours. One of our satellite clinics opening up is specializing in severe infections that arenât responding to the over the counter meds. Give me a call when you get a chance!â
Randi tapped her left earbud, ending the call, andâwith her most adept customer service faceâturned her attention to the man anxiously tapping his fingers along the edge of the reception desk.
âOur favorite reporter, back again,â she beamed. âHow can we help The Herald, today?â
âSorry Iâm late,â he said. âThe mayor had an impromptu press briefing this morning, I had to run across town. I was supposed to meet with someone from Epidemiology about the latest numbers?â
âAs you can imagine, the Epi labs are swamped, but Iâll see if I can get you in.â
âSeems to always be the case,â he sighed. âWould it be possible to talk to someone about your data transparency? Research into the virus is publicly funded, if Iâm not mistaken.â
âAnd we are just so grateful to have the support, trust, and financial partnership of the municipal government to tackle the spread. How about I redirect you to our IP specialists in Legalââ
âNo, no, thatâs fine!â he exclaimed. âNot again.â For months heâd been a fixture at that reception desk, with limited success in getting through to anyone actually working on epidemiological research or vaccine development. But the legal team was a rabbit hole he didnât want to go back down.
Randi perked up as the earbud in her left ear pulsed with a lavender and green glow.
âItâs the Office of the Mayor,â she said, holding a finger lightly to the device nestled in her ear. âOfficial business, you understand.â
âRight. Well, if I could justââ
âIâm really sorry,â she cut him off with the gentlest wave of her hand. âJust give me a few moments. Go ahead and have a seat in the lounge. They just restocked.â She turned away and redirected her attention to the screen built into her side of the desk, tapping lightly as she whispered into the air.
Neil was familiar with every option of coffee, tea, and snacks that Phantasy Labs had to offer, having spent many mornings relegated to the waiting area, acutely aware that he would not be making it past the front desk. They're always changing this place around, he thought, wandering through the curvilinear architecture of the main lobby space. The undulating walls and bulbous pillars always looked strangely organic, as if the space was shifting its shape and growing new structures according to its own logic. It had never looked the same from one week to the next, but he had always managed to find the low seamless coffee table surrounded by oddly plush cushions made of a material he still could not figure out.Â
This morning, however, it was nowhere to be found. In the spot where he felt it should be, he saw only a sheet of paper, placed flat on the floor, with an arrow drawn in permanent marker. The hair stood up on the back of his neck. He had never seen any sort of analog technology used in this place, let alone pen and paper. Nor had he ever had any encounter here that felt outside the realm of a fully coherent, seamless, organic efficiency. Maybe he was finally getting somewhere.
He looked up to find that the arrow pointed to a smooth, blank wall. As he walked up to investigate, a barely perceptible seam appeared at the height of an average door frame, and the wall unfurled further and further with his proximity. He stepped through, finding himself in the middle of a hallway, the door silently shutting behind him.Â
âWell, shit,â he muttered, unable to reopen the portal he just stepped through, or even detect the seam itself. Instead of the glowing dots he was used to leading him along, he saw the same nondescript pieces of paper with carefully drawn arrows, leading him deeper into the maze of the massive facility. âOkay Neil. Youâre a journalist, this is what journalists do,â he told himself. He followed the trail of breadcrumbs toâto his reliefâan actual door with a real handle, with the word âUTILITYâ printed at the top.
He entered to find row after row of closely packed floor to ceiling shelving, full of what looked like all manner of lab equipment, supplies, and meticulously labeled containers. He wandered in, looking for another arrow, eventually beginning to worry as he came to the conclusion that he had gone on this quest for nothing and simply meandered into a supply closet in the middle of a labyrinthine research complex that he may never escape from.
âHi.â The quiet voice behind him caused Neil to jump, bumping into a drawer of measuring tape.Â
Between him and the door was a mousy man holding several sheets of paper, featuring the arrows that had led him here.
âOh, sorry!â His face a contortion of apology. âCommunication is really tight here, I had to find a way to get your attention. Iâm Sai,â he added with a helpful smile. He looked like he generally spent most of his waking time in a lab, but the disheveled hair, unkempt stubble, and dark circles under his eyes told Neil he hadnât gotten much sleep recently, let alone made it home.Â
From the waist up, he looked petite enough to shove out of the way in a pinch, but Neilâs gaze immediately fell to the pair of globes hovering behind him, stretching his plaid leggings to the limit, rotund enough to see from the front. His svelte waist ballooned into a pair of gargantuan ass cheeks and thick thighs, so comically hefty they effectively blocked any hope of escape. âYou donât know me. Iâm just one of the R&D interns. But some of us have been following your work with the, uh, virus, andâŠcould we, um, talk?â
âYeah,â said Neil, unable to take his eyes off of Saiâs wildly disproportionate posterior. âYeah, definitely.â He pulled out his voice recorder from his messenger bag. âI have so many questions.â

Intro post!!!

Hi, I'm R and I'm starting this study blog to track my progress and hold myself accountable (sort of like a digital diary)
About me -
Currently enrolled in a post graduate program in data science and business analytics (started it when I was feeling lost and didn't know what to do with life but now might as well finish it with a good grade)
Preparing for an entrance exam for a master's in electrical engineering (because this is what I really want to do)
Full time job in healthcare management (and somewhat hating it) (not because it's bad but I just really want to make robots and stuff)
Other things I'm interested in or want to learn (but can't commit to right now because I only have 24 hours in a day)
Photography & Cinematography
Digital art
3D modelling and animation
Japanese
Programming (specifically ML & AI)
Pencil Sketching
Writing
Sanskrit
Indian Mythology
Reading
Astrophysics (just want to learn for the heck of it; don't really want a career in the field)
All photographs are my own unless specified otherwise.
I'm very bad at finishing things I start so that's why I'm going to document my life from now on to keep myself accountable. Wish me luck!!! đ€

Feeling like putting down my find so here is
JV/Ant Davidson Timeline
(Canât guarantee 100% accuracy on all info, canât guarantee no bias no projection, not using there full names because guess what, so less info about them together if you google their names together my blog appears on the 1st page)
JV was raised in Switzerland. Did math and computer science in Switzerland. He found out he needed an engineer background to enter F1 so went back to England to get a master in that. Got to work at BAR(later Honda, Brawn, Merc) eventually. (He had a billion interview on him hustling his way to BAR but thatâs not relevant to the story here)
Ant was raised in a middle class family. Went to Karting with brother and he was more interested and started to compete in Karting. He worked his way to Formula Ford and was lucky to get a sponsorship( the sponsor bought a house and let him lived there). His sponsor talked to him about career choice, at that time, test driver made a decent amount of money and that f1 seat seems a bit too distant. So Ant ended up in BAR around the same time as JV
Well JV was not that much of an engineering guy. His job going into Honda was a combination of some data analysis, coordination between departments and some engineer. There was no proper strategist job back in the days so he just bounced around. (The untold interview he said he was suppose to fix an electronic problem on the front wing, Evan Short ended up doing that. Not saying that he knew nothing but inferring from his other interview, he definitely needed help). (Even now strategist have âlowâ status in the team since only the principal strategist can go to the track and everyone back homeâs job is make sure to feed enough info through TR that the principalâs eyes are always on track).
Meanwhile, Ant was doing amazing as a test driver, too amazing that Honda was reluctant to release him to do actual f1 racing. He missed a seat(which team I forgot) but Honda eventually agreed to let him race for Super Aguri in 2007. That team didnât last.
Then came the Brawn year. Before 2009, JV and Ant were already starting to worry about their jobs and registered a company together. Company never took off because here comes Brawn GP.
After the championship, our champ Jenson was scheduled to do victory laps in the factory for the fans but he already buggered off to McLaren. Ant did the laps and JV was his engineer for that.
Then came the Merc years.
Ant was doing a bunch of different things then: racing in WEC, driving the Merc simulator and later became a sky sport host. Ant missed the chance of winning a championship(he also missed a podium due to bad luck in 2007) but he got one eventually. When Alonso returned to F1, Ant interviewed him asking if Alonso remembered them racing against each other in WEC, Alonso did not remember. Ant also did Jensonâs retirement interview. Ant also did some interview later saying he was too nice to be competing in this shark tank of f1, nice guy canât win races.
JV was doing a bunch of different things in Merc as well. He was in charge of simulator, junior team, esport team and development data analysis software for premier league(honorable mention: he wrote the drivers code of conduct in 2016 to prevent Lewis and Nico fighting). Ant was a reliable simulator driver, JV was working a lot with Ant at that time(JV didnât need to be present for the crowd strike thing but he was thereâŠ) (Also they Mercâs equipment to tune cars for their friendâs Karting league, naughty boys). I want to believe JV cares about drivers he works with, especially junior team (he went up to hug Esteban Ocon(Merc junior driver) after his 2021 Hungarian gp win(Merc strategy was a disaster that race)
Ant said JV is one of his best friends. He phoned JV a lot during the Honda and Brawn years. Ant also texted JV to ask for technical details when he started to comment for Sky( Ant joked in 2023 pre season test that JV is getting to busy with his TP job to reply to his texts). JV also bugged Ant for a VIP pass during Antâs LeMans years. JV had spent time with Antâs family doing barbecue for JVâs birthday. JV is Antâs kidsâ god father.
Projection time: Brawn and Merc years treated JV so well he probably is a bit idealist about things now. The stuff he said at Williams make sense if your work experience is a streak of championships. JV will probably never get a reality check so hard the way Ant exit F1(divorce? Idw). Knowing they are good friends make me happy.

The Robotnik family
I wanted to give the Robotnik family a little more backstory and maybe think about what Maria and Ivo's parents were like. I'm making some educated guesses on ages from here on in the movie verse-But here's my vague headcanon with room for speculation!Â
I like to think both the Robotnik brothers were intelligent like their father Gerald, both on track to graduate top of their classes and follow him into the sciences and military. But while one followed his father into a morally ambiguous scientific military career the other cut contact, deserted service and ran away to pursue another kind of life.Â
Perhaps he saw something he shouldn't have, a document that showed what Gerald was working on and it scared him away. In an effort to protect his new wife he left for Canada- even cutting contact with his widowed brother and 2 year old niece.Â
Maria's mother and father married young, right out of school as they both intended on having military careers. Mariaâs mother died in childbirth, leaving her husband of only 1 year to raise his daughter on his own.
Unfortunately when Maria was only 6 her father was killed in a training accident, meaning Gerald became her only legal guardian. She began travelling around with him while he worked, eventually ending up at the project Shadow laboratory not long after she turned 11
I'm putting Maria as at the most 10 years older than Ivo. So Ivo was born around the time Shadow was first found and the lab was in full operation.
After the incident with Project Shadow the Robotnik's were wiped from all databases, including data on Ivoâs parents' connection to Gerald.Â
Ivoâs parents were both very kind and sweet people who kept to themselves. Living in a lowly populated area of Canada, his mother working from home as an accountant and his father as a handyman.
So when they disappeared leaving 4 month old Ivo home alone no one could explain what had happened, even after finding them in a car driven into the bottom of a lake with all their belongings packed into the back seats 2 years later.
For the next few years Ivo would bounce around foster families, landing in mostly group homes and half way houses until he aged out of the system and entering collage at an early age.
Ivo knew what happened to his parents, his file being easy to hack into during a summer not long after he turned 13. He believed that they just didn't want him, they could live with having a child so they ran off and accidently crashed-
That's it! I wanted to leave room for speculation and theory- while giving enough info for why Ivo had been on his own and never knew his grandfather or cousin.
#dr robotnik#Gerald Robotnik#Maria Robotnik#shadow the hedgehog#Ivo Robotnik#sonic movie universe#sonic cinematic universe#headcanons#dr robotnik headcanons#drabble#I like the idea that Ivo's parents were just very normal people#I wrote this just to help me place Ivo and Maria in a concrete timeline for future reference#Ivo also just gives off abandonment issue so

## Whatâs a Cyber Forensic Investigator?
Master post - part 1 âą part 2
You must have heard bout forensics yk investigating bout dead people who might have been killed and all
You must have seen shows on those topics too.Cyber forensic investigator is just of same kind but investigating through all types of modern gadgets.
Catching hackers and all but cooler

### The Money Talk: How Much Do They Make?
- **Cash Money**: Expect to rake in about $60k to $120k a year. If you are very much experienced and skilled then you can expect about 150k+ a year.(obv different countries and companies may have different wages)
### Companies That Want You
- **Tech Titans**: Google, Amazon, Facebookâthey all have requirement for such heroes
- **Gov Jobs**: FBI, CIAâbasically every spy agency wants you.
- **Cybersecurity Firms**: CrowdStrike, McAfeeâso every gateway you go you gonna have opportunities everywhere.
### What Other Forensic Investigators Are There?
- **Forensic Pathologists**: Real-life detectives who figure out how someone died. Less tech, more science.
- **DNA Analysts**: The ones matching DNA samples
- **Forensic Accountants**: Following the money to catch fraudsters and scammers
- **Toxicologists**: Poison experts, figuring out if someoneâs been covertly poisoned. (Yeaa yk snow white story)
### Whatâs the Work Environment Like?
- **The Lab**: Imagine a room filled with more screens than your gaming setup. Gadgets galore, maybe even a Red Bull or two
- **On the Move**: Sometimes youâre out in the field, collecting evidence. Think of it like collecting rare items in a game.
- **Remote Vibes**: You could be solving cybercrimes from your bed in your PJs .
### How Long Does It Take to Become One?
- **Time Investment**: About 4 years for a bachelorâs, and then 1-2 more years for a masterâs if youâre going all-in. So, 5-6 years total. But hey, good things take time, right?
### What Do You Study?
- **Cybersecurity/Computer Science**: Your main jams. Think of them as the ultimate cheat codes for this career.
- **Digital Forensics**: Specialized courses where you learn to be a digital ninja.
- **Law and Ethics**: Learning how to catch the bad guys without breaking the law yourself. (You yourself don't want to be troubled obviously)
### Subjects You Need to Get Into It
- **Math**: Yep, but not the boring kindâmore like coding and algorithms.
- **Computer Science**: Your go-to for everything techy.
- **Optional Nerd Points**: Chemistry/Physics if youâre into hardware forensics or just want to flex those brain muscles.
### Work Hours: What to Expect?
- **9 to 5-ish**: Standard hours if youâre working for a company, but expect some late nights or weekend shifts when big cases pop up.
- **On-Call Madness**: Sometimes youâre on-call like a digital firefighter. Cyber-attack at 3 AM? Time to suit up (or log in) and handle it.
- **Flexible/Remote**: If youâre lucky, you can work from home. Just remember, no solving crimes in your underwear during Zoom meetings!
### Interview with a Cyber Forensic Investigator
**Interviewer**: Whatâs a day in the life of a cyber forensic investigator?
**Cyber Sleuth**: Imagine rolling out of bed, grabbing your coffee, and diving into cases. Iâm talking analyzing hard drives, sifting through emails, or tracking down cyberattack origins. Some days itâs all data, other days Iâm working with law enforcement or testifying in court. Never a dull moment!
**Interviewer**: Whatâs the coolest case youâve worked on?
**Cyber Sleuth**: Helping bust a phishing ring that was scamming millions. Tracked their digital footprints, caught the culprits, and recovered their loot. Felt like a total legend.
**Interviewer**: Ever seen some dark stuff, like murders?
*Cyber Sleuth**: Yeah, Iâve stumbled across some pretty grim stuff. Itâs not all memes and malwareâsometimes itâs serious business. But catching those bad guys makes it all worth it.
**Interviewer**: Have you ever been on the dark web?
**Cyber Sleuth**: Oh, for sure. Itâs like the sketchy underbelly of the internet. Lots of shady deals. I go there when I need to, but itâs not a fun hangout spot.
**Interviewer**: How dark can a case get?
**Cyber Sleuth**: It can get really intense. Iâve worked on cases involving human trafficking and other serious crimes. Itâs tough, but making a difference makes it worth it.
**Interviewer**: Any advice for someone who wants to get into this field?
**Cyber Sleuth**: Stay curious and keep learning. Tech evolves fast, so youâve gotta keep up. And donât be afraid to dig deepâsometimes the answers are buried in tons of data, but finding them is like hitting gold.

So if youâre into tech and have subjects like mathematics , chemistry and physics then you are all set to start your journey.i have seen ppl running for a common a job and all and they are not even specified about what they want. So just research and find out what you want.

Today's (10/29/2024) Episode: Wholesome Morning Fun
Luigi and Noemi had successfully launched Watcher Tales right before their originally planned New Yearâs Eve release date.
With that deadline off their backs, the family was able to relax and enjoy the holiday in style. In honor of all the relatives who had helped with his game launch, Luigi orchestrated a charity stream at the local gaming center, raising money for the family's foundation for at risk youth.
They kicked things off early in the morning, gathering a group of sims to participate in a timed Watcher Tales build challenge.
âYouâve got 2 hours to create a rockinâ party venueâ Luigi told them âIâll be checking in throughout on your progress, and at the end weâll take turns touring all your creations, while our online viewers vote on their favorite. Good luck everyone!â
The winning build wound up being a futuristic nightclub lot, designed by the foundationâs volunteer computer science tutor, Mauricio.
Luigi had known this fellow computer lover since their teen years, when heâd been captain of Copperdale Highâs computer club. The now much more mellow sim had put his interest in technology to good use both at the foundation and as a teacher at their old alma mater.
âI love your game, and so do my students.â he told Luigi when he came over to offer his congratulations. âThe logic and data puzzles you added to the gearhead career are genius. Itâs a fun way for kids to learn some of the basics of programming and Iâm excited to work it into my lesson plans.â
As the attendees enjoyed placing their creations into their game worlds, Luigi was setting up breakfast with Grandpa Don and his friend Anderson.
âAnderson, this is Lalani. She wants to open her own catering business someday and today sheâll be helping you prepare your famous waffles for our event. Meanwhile, our volunteer Bradley here will be helping Don prepare drinks for all our guests. Nothing too potent now, heâs still a teen!â
âBrunch will be served shortlyâ he hollered to the crowd. âIn the meantime, feel free to enjoy any of the fun activities weâve setup throughout the center and thank you again for coming out to support this great cause!â
While Luigi was busy hosting the event and gathering footage for the foundations future promotions his son was unloading his most recent woes onto his friend Elyse ââŠthen a clown with pliers started yanking out my teeth. It was awful! That wasnât just a dream eitherâŠâ he finished with a sigh âA bunch of my baby teeth are loose, and I hate how theyâre all wiggly in my mouth. Daddy said I could just pull them out but Iâm afraid to.â
âI totally get itâ Elyse replied âI have nightmares too, and losing teeth is the worst! I yank mine to make sure I donât swallow any in my sleep!â
âOh, I donât want to swallow themâ Skye whimpered, more scared than ever, just in time for Bruce to jump into the conversation.
âI heard when you swallow a tooth it stays in your stomach for SEVEN YEARS!â their feisty friend grinned evilly at Skyeâs horrified expression. âNow quite your bellyaching and come upstairs so I can kick your butts on this HUGE Space Invaders arcade game I found!â
After the meal Noemi gathered the children and teens for a little programming workshop. âToday Iâll show you how to program a simple music player and synthesizer so you can make your own tunes. Iâll also show you how to add your music tracks to Watcher Tales so you can hear them in game!â
Luigi filmed the kids working on their players, providing tips and tricks as he went. The sight of his friends, relatives, and the at-risk kids playing and learning together warmed his heart and made him proud of the good work the foundation was doing to help sims who might otherwise fall through the cracks.
Checking the donation counter Lugi was excited to see theyâd already raised a healthy sum, and the day was just getting started!

Audio Log Archive: Calculator Zoxxe
Entry 34 - 1326 AE. Transcription start:
Ten years with the Inquest, and Iâm still equally amazed and appalled at what my fellows get themselves caught up in. Iâm sure sciences like herpetology and ichthyology have their uses, but it gets aggravating seeing promising researchers become obsessed with some rare fauna or another when they should be applying themselves to the stated goals of our organization.
Case in point, this âScarletâ character. Everyone and their golem is buzzing about this mysterious sylvari who studied at all three colleges - personally, I doubted the authenticity of her certifications even before the Council revoked them. As though a non-asura could ever hope to achieve our heights of genius. Ha!
Still, I canât deny the spark behind her eyes. She has big plans, whatever they might end up being, and I have no doubt she will do anything to see them through. I have no interest in partnering with pirates or bandits or whatnot, so I will continue to watch from a distance as I continue my own aetherology research here. Who knows, maybe Scarlet will impress me after all. Or maybe dolyaks will sprout wings and fly.
Entry 39 - 1327 AE
Of course Scarlet ended up being a bust. Anyone who believed differently was a fool of the highest order.
She certainly went out with a bang - my aetherology instruments were going haywire from the sheer amount of magical energy that rushed towards the deep jungle. Now that we know the truth about the sylvari, we can near-conclusively see that her true goal all along was to reawaken Mordremoth. It was certainly a bold idea to flood the ley line stretching from Lionâs Arch to Maguuma with magic; not unlike jump-starting a stalled golem with an external power source.
Whatever her exact motivations for this could have been, her success does open up a potentially fascinating avenue for my research - what sort of link is there between the elder dragons and the magic of the world? Clearly Mordremoth was attuned to it, but what about Zhaitan, and for what purpose? And most importantly, how can we exploit it for ourselves?
Iâll prepare my thesis and send it to high command along with a request for additional funding and personnel. I have no doubt they will give me all I ask for, so I will begin my personal work at once. I wonder if the Pact would miss one of their submersiblesâŠ
Entry 53 - 1335 AE
The Pact and that blasted commander of theirs continues to be both a boon and a curse! While our agents in the Rata Novus lab have passed on immeasurably useful data from their efforts, that blasted sylvari keeps killing more dragons - good for the survival of the common folk, I suppose, but absolutely detrimental to my research.
Only one dragon remains, the ever-theorized but heretofore unproven âdeep sea dragon.â Thereâs so much more weâre on the cusp of discovering, and the commander is on track to ruin my career without even knowing!
But, as always, I have a plan. I was able to find records of Scarletâs notes left over in an old workstation. She mentions time she spent with the late Omadd, and most importantly, a fascinating device he constructed near the Silverwastes. Supposedly, the device allows the user to peer into the fabric of reality - the very Eternal Alchemy itself!
Finally, a chance to mathematically prove what Iâve always believed - to show those boorish idiots I call my fellow researchers that absolute structure is the only way to success. Everything down to the smallest particle of the least important atom can be determined, charted, predicted and directed. The Inquest has always strived to control the Eternal Alchemy, but no one ever thinks about what weâll do with it. Absolute order to all things is the only conclusion that makes any sense, and I will be the one to put it in place.
I will be traveling alone to the machine - no reason to give anyone else the chance to muck everything up, or worse, steal my work. Very soon, all asura - the entire world - will know my name!
Entry 55 - 1335 AE
[unintelligable] -itâs wrong. Itâs all wrong, everything is wrong, I was - [crashing, papers scattering, yelling]
I fixed it. The machine worked and I saw everything. All magic flowing in and out the dragons like water through a filtration matrix. For a moment it was so beautiful. But the dragons died one by one, and in their place, there isâŠ
Nothing. Less than nothing. Void from end to end. No greater purpose, no rules or equations or anything comprehensible. An emptiness that will take and take and take until there is nothing left.
Sheâs doomed us all. She canât save us this time. Now everything weâve done, everything Iâve done is worthless. No one can stop whatâs happening.
The Void comes for us all. The Void comes. It comes. It comes. It comesâŠÂ
[unintelligible]
Entry 56 - 1335 AE
Ahem.
Iâm not going to delete my last entry - embarrassing as it may be to admit, it is important to acknowledge when oneâs conclusions end up being incorrect, if only for the purpose of proper documentation.
Which is to say that the world didnât end, obviously. The Commander found a way, as she always seems to do. Our agents report that Aurene now fulfills the role the previous elder dragons used to, sans the whole death/rebirth cycle. Magic flows through her to be cleansed, and the world is balanced once again. The Void is - itâs gone. It has to be -
[coughs] Iâm putting together another thesis and personnel request. The events of the last few days opens up yet another previously unknown facet of aetherology. Weâre not under immediate threat anymore, but it demands to be studied. All sorts of possible applications could be found, if we can properly contain it.
I cannot - I will not be taken by surprise again. I will master its flow and dictate its course.
I will be the one in control. It will have no power over me ever again.
Should my proposal be approved, and I have no doubt it wonât, I will be forming the V.E.R.G.E. krewe - Voidic Energy Research and General Exploitation. We will decipher every secret of the Void and turn it to our own ends - and prepare ourselves should it ever return like this again.
I will be ready. And someday soon, all of creation - even the Void itself - will bend before me.

History of Astrology and Its Significance Today
Astrology has fascinated humans for thousands of years. What began as sky-watching by ancient civilizations has now evolved into a powerful tool for self-discovery, timing, and decision-making. But how did astrology begin? And why is it still so relevant in the modern world?
If youâre curious about astrology or want to know what the stars say about your life, you can now chat with astrologers from anywhere in the world. Platforms like AstroSevaTalk even offer free chat with astrologers so you can explore your birth chart with expert guidance.
The Origins of Astrology
Astrology dates back over 4,000 years. Its earliest roots are found in:
Mesopotamia (Babylonia) â The Babylonians were the first to track celestial movements and link them to seasonal changes and human events.
Ancient Egypt â Egyptians used astrology primarily for agricultural cycles and to align their temples with the stars.
Vedic India â One of the most sophisticated and enduring systems, Vedic astrology (Jyotish) was documented in sacred texts like the Rigveda.
By observing the sun, moon, and planets, these ancient cultures believed that cosmic patterns influenced events on Earth. They began charting planetary movements to predict eclipses, seasons, and even the fate of kings.
Astrologyâs Evolution Over Time
Greek Influence: Hellenistic astrology around 2nd century BCE introduced the concept of zodiac signs and planetary rulerships.
Islamic and Medieval Europe: Astrology thrived in the Middle Ages, influencing medicine, alchemy, and philosophy.
Modern Times: From sun sign horoscopes in newspapers to personalized birth chart readings, astrology has moved from kings' courts to common households.
Today, astrology blends ancient techniques with modern tools, making it more accessible and user-friendly than ever.
Why Astrology Still Matters Today
Many dismiss astrology as superstition, yet millions still turn to the stars when facing tough decisions or life changes. Why?
đź Self-Understanding
Astrology reveals insights into your personality, desires, strengths, and challenges. Your natal chart (Kundli) is like a cosmic blueprint of your soul.
đ
Timing Life Events
Knowing the right time for marriage, business, travel, or property investment is critical. Astrologers use planetary transits and dashas to help you act when the stars are favorable.
â€ïž Relationship Insights
Kundli matching helps couples understand compatibility, emotional needs, and karmic connections. Wondering if your love is meant to last? You can always talk with an astrologer to explore your relationship chart.
đ§ Spiritual Growth
Astrology is not just predictiveâitâs reflective. It aligns you with cosmic rhythms, helping you evolve mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Astrology in the Digital Age
With technology, astrology has reached more people than ever before. No need to wait for an appointment or travel far. You can now chat with astrologer in real-time on your phone or computer.
Platforms like AstroSevaTalk provide 24x7 access to certified Vedic astrologers. Whether you're curious about your career, love life, health, or spiritual path, a free chat with an astrologer can give you clarity within minutes.
How Accurate Is Astrology?

Mapping the Tiny Plankton That Feed Giant Right Whales
In the waters off New England, one of Earthâs rarest mammals swims slowly, mouth agape. The North Atlantic right whale filters clouds of tiny reddish zooplanktonâcalled Calanus finmarchicusâfrom the sea. These zooplankton, no bigger than grains of rice, are the whaleâs lifeline. Only about 370 of these massive creatures remain.
For decades, tracking the tiny plankton meant sending research vessels out in the ocean, towing nets and counting samples by hand. Now, scientists are looking from above instead.
Using NASA satellite data, researchers found a way to detect Calanus swarms at the ocean surface in the Gulf of Maine, picking up on the animalsâ natural red pigment. This early-stage approach, described in a new study, may help researchers better estimate where the copepods gather and where whales might follow.
Tracking the zooplankton from space could aid both the whales and maritime industries. By predicting where these mammals are likely to feed, researchers and marine resource managers hope to reduce deadly vessel strikes and fishing gear entanglementsâtwo major threats to the species. Knowing the feeding patterns could also help shipping and fishing industries operate more efficiently.
âNASA invests in this kind of research because it connects space-based observation with real-world challenges,â said Cynthia Hall, a support scientist at NASA headquarters in Washington. She works with the Early Career Research Program, which partly funded the work. âItâs yet another way to put NASA satellite data to work for science, communities, and ecosystems.â
Revealing the Oceanâs Hidden Patterns
The new approach uses data from the MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) on NASAâs Aqua satellite. The MODIS instrument doesnât directly see the copepods themselves. Instead, it reads how the spectrum of sunlight reflected from the ocean surface changes in response to whatâs in the water.
When large numbers of the zooplankton rise to the surface, their reddish pigmentâastaxanthin, the same compound that gives salmon their pink colorâsubtly alters how photons, or particles of light, from the sun are absorbed or scattered in the water. The fate of these photons in the ocean depends on the mix of living and non-living matter in seawater, creating a slight shift in color that MODIS can detect.
âWe didnât know to look for Calanus before in this way,â said Catherine Mitchell, a satellite oceanographer at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in East Boothbay, Maine. âRemote sensing has typically focused on smaller things like phytoplankton. But recent research suggested that larger, millimeter-sized organisms like zooplankton can also influence ocean color.â
A few years ago, researchers piloted a satellite method for detecting the copepods in Norwegian waters. Now, some of those same scientistsâalong with Mitchellâs teamâhave refined the approach and applied it to the Gulf of Maine, a crucial feeding ground for right whales during their northern migration. By combining satellite data, a model, and field measurements, they produced enhanced images that revealed Calanus swarms at the sea surface and were able to estimate numbers of the tiny animals.
The map at the top of this page (top) shows Calanus patches in Gulf of Maine surface waters on June 17, 2009, detected by the researchers while testing the new approach. Estimated concentrations of the copepods that day reached as high as 150,000 individuals per cubic meter. For comparison, the lower image (MODIS bands 1, 4, 3) shows the same area in natural color, as the human eye would perceive it. Notice how the map depicts patterns that are nearly imperceptible to human eyes in natural color images alone, such as the dense patches southwest of Nova Scotia and the sparser patches toward the gulfâs center.
âWe know the right whales are using habitats we donât fully understand,â said Rebekah Shunmugapandi, also a satellite oceanographer at Bigelow and the studyâs lead author. âThis satellite-based Calanus information could eventually help identify unknown feeding grounds or better anticipate where whales might travel.â

WIP intro: The Ring. A comedy in five acts.
Genre: romantic comedy, satire, Christmas comedy
Themes and tropes: fake dating, queer romance, family drama, miscommunication, sibling rivalry
Progress/Target: first draft, 95/~150 pages (see extra notes) More under cut!
Summary:
Sylwester is trying to be the perfect son for once in his life. After lots of experimenting, tons of fails and multiple wrong turns, he finally came out on top. With a stable career and a wonderful girl at his side, he actually might not seem like a disappointment next to his âwonderfulâ and âalways belovedâ older brother. Especially when he announces that heâll be the first to marry out of his siblings! Because he definitely will â he already has a ring, and he is going to propose on Christmas Eve. Itâs not like heâs been fighting with his fiancee-to-be for the past couple of weeks. Not at all⊠Patryk is trying so hard to be the perfect son he's always been. But expectations are changing as heâs growing older, and sometimes it feels like he isnât good enough anymore. So when Sylwesterâs mistake makes his parents think that heâs about to propose to his best friend- Maybe itâs not so bad at all? At least he wonât have to explain why heâs still single. He feels bad about getting Mikolaj all tangled up in this, but itâs not like itâll change anything⊠Right? Klaudia has never tried to be the perfect daughter. And fairly, she isnât planning on changing that. What she is planning on doing though, is watching her idiot brothers make fools of themselves trying to make their parents happy, and enjoy the chaos that unravels. For all she knows, Christmas this year is about to be a mess, but it also will be really fun.
In other words: the Kozlowski family gets back together for Christmas, and it turns out to be messier than anyone expects. With quite clichĂ© romantic comedy shenanigans on one hand, on the other itâs a satire commentary of the expectations many families still set for their children, and the priorities they make them uphold.
Characters:
Patryk â 25 y.o., finishing his masterâs degree in Data Science while working 9-to-5 as a programmer. Gifted kid in his childhood and teenage years, now a workaholic surviving only thanks to black coffee.
Sylwester â 23 y.o., working as a party planner and climbing up the ladder surprisingly fast for his young age. Looking forward to stop being second place in the family. Considered to be a bit of a âshowmanâ, but who doesnât like a tiny bit of drama here and there?
Klaudia â 17 y.o., high school student. The youngest and still considered to be the familyâs baby, despite not being that small anymore. Well-known for causing chaos.
Anka (Anna) â 24 y.o., a journalist, known for her sharp tongue both in her writing and personal life. Sylwesterâs current girlfriend and soon-to-be fiancee.
Mikolaj â 25 y.o., in the same boat as Patryk career-wise; Patrykâs best friend and co-worker. Too nice for his own good.
Mr. and Mrs. Kozlowski â the parents of Patryk, Sylwester and Klaudia. Canât wait to have grandkids. They donât have a favourite child, of course not, but have you heard that Patryk got promoted lately? Heâs really amazing, isnât he?
Extra notes: Iâm writing it in a format of a play, in verse, so Iâm finding pages a better way to track my progress than word count. I know itâs technically less specific, but word count when writing in verse doesnât really⊠work the same way it does with prose, and itâs more confusing than anything. For reference, âThe Ringâ currently is at 10.5k words, but itâs 95 pages, with three out of five acts pretty much already written. So tracking progress in pages it is, thahah-
Also, this is my first project in a while that takes place in Poland. It makes sense, because Iâm Polish, and this is satire, and Iâm making a point by ridiculing certain social norms- it would be weird to try to place this in an environment Iâm not personally familiar with, or ridicule social norms in a society I donât personally know? Anyway hopefully all the painfully Polish names wonât hurt your eyes, thaha
#wip: the ring#wip intro#writeblr#oc: patryk kozlowski#oc: sylwester kozlowski#oc: klaudia kozlowska#oc: mikolaj majcherczyk#oc: anna danuta pacala#side note but i might consider using the english equivalents of their names while talking about them here#because this feels. weird.#but also while patrick sylvester and claudia looks fine#mikolaj randomly turning into nicholas looks SO CURSED to me#so we're sticking with polish names for now pals

What are the skills needed for a data scientist job?
Itâs one of those careers thatâs been getting a lot of buzz lately, and for good reason. But what exactly do you need to become a data scientist? Letâs break it down.
Technical Skills
First off, let's talk about the technical skills. These are the nuts and bolts of what you'll be doing every day.
Programming Skills: At the top of the list is programming. Youâll need to be proficient in languages like Python and R. These are the go-to tools for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization. If youâre comfortable writing scripts and solving problems with code, youâre on the right track.
Statistical Knowledge: Next up, youâve got to have a solid grasp of statistics. This isnât just about knowing the theory; itâs about applying statistical techniques to real-world data. Youâll need to understand concepts like regression, hypothesis testing, and probability.
Machine Learning: Machine learning is another biggie. You should know how to build and deploy machine learning models. This includes everything from simple linear regressions to complex neural networks. Familiarity with libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch will be a huge plus.
Data Wrangling: Data isnât always clean and tidy when you get it. Often, itâs messy and requires a lot of preprocessing. Skills in data wrangling, which means cleaning and organizing data, are essential. Tools like Pandas in Python can help a lot here.
Data Visualization: Being able to visualize data is key. Itâs not enough to just analyze data; you need to present it in a way that makes sense to others. Tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Tableau can help you create clear and compelling visuals.
Analytical Skills
Now, letâs talk about the analytical skills. These are just as important as the technical skills, if not more so.
Problem-Solving: At its core, data science is about solving problems. You need to be curious and have a knack for figuring out why something isnât working and how to fix it. This means thinking critically and logically.
Domain Knowledge: Understanding the industry youâre working in is crucial. Whether itâs healthcare, finance, marketing, or any other field, knowing the specifics of the industry will help you make better decisions and provide more valuable insights.
Communication Skills: You might be working with complex data, but if you canât explain your findings to others, itâs all for nothing. Being able to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is a must.
Soft Skills
Donât underestimate the importance of soft skills. These might not be as obvious, but theyâre just as critical.
Collaboration: Data scientists often work in teams, so being able to collaborate with others is essential. This means being open to feedback, sharing your ideas, and working well with colleagues from different backgrounds.
Time Management: Youâll likely be juggling multiple projects at once, so good time management skills are crucial. Knowing how to prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively can make a big difference.
Adaptability: The field of data science is always evolving. New tools, techniques, and technologies are constantly emerging. Being adaptable and willing to learn new things is key to staying current and relevant in the field.
Conclusion
So, there you have it. Becoming a data scientist requires a mix of technical prowess, analytical thinking, and soft skills. Itâs a challenging but incredibly rewarding career path. If youâre passionate about data and love solving problems, it might just be the perfect fit for you.
Good luck to all of you aspiring data scientists out there!
