dear diary, hey franz! hope you’re okay since you’ve been silent for a while. i miss you and this IF!

Hi there! I'm doing alright, all things considered. I'm still semi-active in the Discord server if you didn't know, but I'll have more news soon! I'm also itching to draw again, so that's a good sign after that one disaster happened.

Long story short, I just finished coding a new mechanic that should tie in the EXP and NP systems much better together. I might've finished the update already otherwise, but I'm much happier with the gameplay side of things now.

There's still quite a bit, but with that out of the way, the rest of my to-do list should hopefully be done much faster now.

no one asked but I went to a botanical garden to meet up with my cousin and I had a wonderful time and got to spend a lot of time in nature and catching up with my cousin’s life and it’s been fascinating. It was very therapeutic. I forgot my camera, and it was an hour and change away. I did take a few photos with my phone but I was a little bummed I didn’t bring my camera somewhere as beautiful as that place! Very serene even with the people (and dogs!) anyway, I had a really nice time.

☀ Grandpa Orochi is not that difficult to understand since it’s not as if he has a smokescreen has about himself that’s shielding what he’s actually like, and yet, Ozy still sits there trying to figure him out. Servants should not always be wholly judged on their stories as those are sometimes influenced by the masses – true or not – and yet he does do that with them despite him giving some form of leniency in this regard to fellow Servants. Perhaps it’s because that Orochi is ‘evil’ in his tale that makes him wonder if there’s some hidden agenda going on with them. He only knows the general tale, not Orochi’s side of said tale. Despite Orochi not meaning to come across as rude with his responses due to his rather matter-of-fact manner of speaking, something about his words seems to at times, strike a cord in Ozy. As a result, there often can be clashing due to this misunderstanding. He, at times, thinks that Orochi is taking pop shots at him when in actuality, he’s just vibing.

Challenge the nephrologist who self-consulted on my patient with stable, slightly elevated creatinine in the context of two consecutive days NPO and stage 3 CKD to a fistfight in the parking lot for calling it an AKI in his note even though the creatinine elevation and urine output did not, in fact, meet criteria for AKI.

(In all seriousness: she's fine, she went home after her surgery and was doing great. It was not an AKI but it's still reassuring to know the specialist is keeping an eye on things.)

Interaction guidelines under the cut.

First of all, Nolan may get quite innapropiate from time to time so save yourself a disgusting moment and avoid interactions with me if you don't want to see that. You can also blacklist the tags #Suggestive and #NSFW, the ones I'll be using in such content. However, his first interaction with any character will never be inappropriate. Those are usually triggered by the other character, if your character don't act that way, he won't act that way. Again, if I do something you don't like, let me know to correct it as soon as possible. I don't mean to make anyone uncomfortable.

Second, unlike other blogs, I use this one as if it was Nolan's blog so expect a TON of random posts, not something polished and curated. I'd post small texts, images, "diary" like post, probably a song, random toughts and things going on in "his" mind, things I think Nolan would post. You're free to interact with those posts unless stated otherwise in the tags.

ABOUT ME (HIM)

Nolan Chance, self proclaimed heist mastermind, is a 32 y/o silly little guy who loves adventures, adrenaline, risks and money. Morally ambiguous, he's always looking for ways to make a profit, no matter what he has to do. He can be the sweetest man or be a pain in the butt, it all depends on how he's being treated. Always with a smug face, life for him is all fun and games!

... Or not. Nolan has a lot going on in his mind (and a bit of a gambling addiction and some other nasty things but he can control it, don't worry). He's usually dealing with self depreciating and negative thoughts. Behind the facade of careless fuckboy he always has, he's very insecure about himself and the way he relates with others.

INTERACTION GUIDELINES:

-Nolan Chance is open to most kind of interactions! Inapropiate (aka NSFW) interactions with minors is a no. I'm an adult and that would be super weird. Otherwise, I'm fine with almost everything. This includes violence, if you want to hurt him, go ahead and kick him. Just keep in mind he might act the same way towards your character.

-I have my own headcanons about Nolan, don't assume I follow yours. Asides of that, he's a peculiar guy with a lot going on in his head, he might be a bit quirky. Don't judge him, he's ok. He's always ok.

Anyway, I've thought about the "new" NP system a little more, and I've decided to hold off on implementing it. Instead, I'll just polish off the existing choices, remove some of the extraneous ones that feel more like filler, and add more impactful ones going forward.

It was actually very fun brainstorming what F6E would say to Tita Steph if they didn't have any filters, so maybe I'll share a snippet or two when I'm done editing those. 😛

Hello, apologies if I took a long while to answer your question, but I guess I have a good excuse, since Dear Diary MC will now have the option to choose their Ancestry Traits in the next update!

So to answer your question: not necessarily!

MC can have human, elven, orcish, dwarven, halfling, gnomish, goblin, draconic, or fae ancestry. And depending on their favorite genre, they can also be a demigod, or have werewolf/vampire/nephilim/cambion heritage.

Do note that I specifically mention "heritage" and "ancestry" as the exact specifics are another spoilery matter entirely (and may change later in development anyway).

With all the new changes in development, IAC needs a complete rewrite (not just edits), so unfortunately rewriting IAC is now a lower priority for me, especially because certain details might change in the future again. But everything in IAC still holds up for the most part!
