corv made an alquist proft commander deck after mkm and i've been using it now that we've started going to commander, because it's incredibly unassuming and also easy to explain (detectives matter + clue synergy + a few alternate wincons). i tried playing my gruul dragons deck and i feel like everyone sees a dragon and they're like "i don't like that and you're immediately a problem" so i'm kind of hesitant to play it before i fix the lack of board wipes, so i switched to proft because it was the one other deck that wasn't in a state of disarray at the time

but i'm finding him to be pretty sturdy in ekeing out second place, and i finally won a game this week! in one of my games, an opponent watched my first few turns and was like "azorius aggro????" which. is funny. because it lowkey is. corv made it to be an alternate win con machine but it has enough tricks that i've done best when having a field of 100% unblockable creatures or one nasty exalted flier.

anyway i was trying to squeeze leyline of transformation in there tonight to shore up non-detective aspects like artifact creatures and juuuust managed to find one card to cut but it was honestly REALLY tight, because the only other maybe to cut had a cute art of etrata and proft and i needed to keep it in for the flavorrrrrr

my post about "cheating" in ygo keeps getting notes from ygo players mad that im calling some of the examples of "cheating" based and cool, so i want a wider survey here:

to summarize, there was/is a deck in the meta that made a specific type of token. Andres Torres showed up to a tournament running a different deck, but had tokens from the first deck (which he could never actually create or use) in his deckbox to mindgame his opponents into thinking he was playing the first deck. this got him banned from all Konami events for a year

i've been reliably informed the new Magic: the Gathering set is "what if redwall? (also planeswalkers get fursonas)"

ANYWAY. this might be the only theme strong enough to compel me to get back into the game lol

I was preparing for a standard tournament, and my deckbox contained: 60 maindeck cards, 15 sideboard cards, 29 tokens to make the gameplay feasible. Can I ask for a more level-headed approach to tokens in the game, or at least in standard? I like the amount of token cards we get, but why so many different ones? Foundations alone, for example, has both 1/1 cats and 2/2 cat beasts. I'm sure something could be done to help prevent token type creep.

We do have limits within the context of any one set, but each set tends to make the tokens that best fit that set. The changing between different worlds can make it tricky to have the creature type be the same. We do try to overlap where we can.

Personal update in the side.

We have around 70 ready-to-play decks by now. (pictured 68 deckboxes)

Starting to run into some storage issues with them plus the accumulated bulk. XD
