Donald Duck swims for the Holy Cross - Scrooge McDuck as Deda Moroz and Webby Vanderquack as Snjegoručka (Снегурочка) - Duckverse and folk customs

I wanted to post this earlier, but for some reason I didn't get to it and was partially blocked. Now I am publishing these drawings that I drew last week related to earlier holidays and related to the customs of my country and the customs of Eastern Europe.

The first drawing I drew was Scrooge McDuck as the Russian Santa Claus (or called Deda Moroz) and his adopted niece or granddaughter Webby Vanderquack as the Russian Snowwhite (or Snjegoruchka). That in Russia and Russian countries usually Santa Claus together with his granddaughter Snjegoruchka distributes gifts to good children and looks different from the usual Santa Claus. Usually they are shared when the Julian Christmas and the Julian New Year (old calendar) are celebrated. I drew together as a redraw, and it's also a good parallel regarding the Ducktales and Uncle Scrooge comics. I wanted to do a drawing related to Russian customs, but unfortunately I didn't make it, so I did this and I apologize. Another time. In Russia, Scrooge is called Дядюшка Скрудж (Uncle Scrooge), and Webby is called Поночка (Ponochka).

The second drawing is Donald Duck swimming in strong water and having found the Holy Cross. Usually in my country (Serbia), as well as in other Orthodox countries, such a custom is used that brave men go into the water to find the Orthodox cross and thus fight for good strength. This is true only for strong and hardy men who can withstand it, not for everyone, since there is no swimming in winter. Although Donald endures everything, I made him swim for the Holy Cross and he holds it in his right hand. Yes, it is usually done on the feast of the Epiphany where in Orthodox countries it is celebrated because on that day Jesus Christ was baptized in the Jordan River by the prophet John the Baptist. Let's face it, it is different from the Catholic and Protestant understanding because on that day the Three Wise Men came to the baby Jesus to bring gifts. And the day before that is the Day of the Cross, and the day after the Epiphany is St. John's Day. Related to that. If you need, feel free to ask me anything. And yes, Donald in my country is called Paja Patak (Паја Патак).

I was thinking about Doppio's backstory in Ministry/DEDA!AU the other day; two years prior to the main story, Doppio was on his own researching and hunting demons in London after some... complicated events had him leave Italy (there is more context, but later), with his 'Boss' and [King Crimson] as his only assistance. It went pretty well until he was caught by Ministry agents that were called to 'unholy screaming and fires at a church'.

(also as per canon, he and Diavolo share a body, although the circumstances of that are a bit different)

Damn, Alison Arkin is really shaping up to become a really fucking powerful and influential person, isn't she? 19 years old and she already has a job working with a government agency that just got catapulted into the public eye. She's got a perfect memory, which has already gotten her recruited by Elizabeth Lawrence as a spy, and she's been so good at it that the Thief wants to recruit her as a double agent within months of knowing her. Her best friends are 'human dronestrike' Casin and 'his targeting system' Hesketh. She studied at the school so she has an extensive knowledge of magic, and she's starting to figure out runes with Diablerie.

She's not great at it yet but she's okay with manipulating people and going behind her superior's backs to do what is right, regardless of the cost. She's made headlines already - granted, it's for wiping someone's personality lol, but it's much easier to be infamous and flip her reputation later than to try to build a reputation on nothing. Depending on how conniving she decides to be, she could simultaneously have dirt on Trilby and Elizabeth at the same time, and end up controlling his organization and her entire government department. Jesuuuuus.

i am deeply nostalgic for my high school choir days rn. it is genuinely insane how good we were in retrospect. like we were always SOOOO hard on ourselves and i remember meeting up w some choir friends after we started going to college and all of us having seen at least one performance by our college choirs and realizing that they were dogshit compared to what we were doing when we were 15. insanity.

Adam and Victor looked down at the thing that was moving in the water, their scales (If they could call them that.) glittering in the sunlight. The shorter man was shaking while the taller man was getting ready to vaporize the entire ocean. A bump and both men immediately fell onto the floor, Adam nearly hitting his head on the rail.

Getting up, Victor could see the hint of a tentacle break the water's surface. All that was running through his mind was "Okay, that was most DEFINITELY not a fish!"
