Buggy as a cat headcanons

Hey! This is a huge inspiration from a tumblr post by d1ner! I made a small drawing before this post! (Got lazy to add the makeup and finish the ears lmao)

Appearance

Buggy is a fluffy cat. So fluffy he’s called the fluffer. He’s so soft too. He still has his nose because let’s be real, is it really Buggy the clown without his iconic nose? Right, didn’t this so.

His fur color is the shade of his hair as a human. And as for his patterns, Buggy has the clown makeup on his face. But the bones are on his back. He has the flash eyelashes as fur patterns as well. Just a cute little blue clown cat with an adorable big red clown nose! I like to believe Buggy has cute little white socks on his paws.

As for eyes, I’m debating whether or not his eyes should be blue or a darker color. Buggy would be very cute with some dark brown eyes just staring at you, begging for food or some pets. But I can also see some shade of blue that’s different from the fur and turns blue & green at times.

Behavior

He’s just a very touch starved and talkative version of my cat. Literally just my cat Eli. Very mischievous and loves to play around. By playing around, I mean he hides under table and beds just to sprint out, pounce on your legs and bites as hard as he can before quickly going back to his hiding place.

Yes, that is what my cat does.

Buggy is a complicated, unpredictable and sneaky cat. Despite his bright colors, you somehow miss him all the time. He slips into doors he’s not supposed to be in, letting you hold him before biting your hand as hard as he can, so many things.

He’s such a troublemaker but he’s just too cute to fully get mad at him. He gets breaks something that means a lot to you, but he’s so cute that you just pick him up and tell him it’s ok and that’s he’s your cute little clown baby.

He pretends that he doesn’t like head pats and ruffles, but Buggy will put his paws on his human’s hand and forces it back down. And if his human walks away from their cuddling section, he’s very pouty and upset. He will throw up a hairball because you left him. He will. Don’t test him.

Very easily jealous. There’s a cat coming up to his human? He’s hissing and starting fights. A dog small or big? Big or small? Don’t care. He’s jumping up and smacking them right in the face. Then he rubs up on his owner and licks his human. Buggy definitely uses his ability to get a few hits on the animal he’s jealous of.

Likes

Buggy is one of those cats that enjoy the (fake) skin routine care with his human. He loves baths as well. Just not sea water. Don’t hurt the poor clown kitty! Buggy jumps in the bathtub and swims around while his human is bathing.

You know that one cat that holds a really long meow for food? That’s Buggy. He’s holding that meow like he’s singing for an opera. He wants his food! He’s making trip with how close he is near your feet.

Please give him his treats. He’s giving you such cute eyes…please give the clown kitty treats. Give him extra! So what if he terrorizes you all the time? He’s so cute!

Dislikes

Don’t ignore him. Don’t you dare ignore him. Keep your eyes on him. Buggy wants all of your attention. You’re taking care of him, just give him a bit more attention, please?

Oh you’re giving your attention to someone else? HOW DARE YOU? Fine! Why not just keep the thing that has your attention as a pet instead? He’s dragging himself around the house, stomping his paws around. He’s upset. Buggy deserves ALL of your attention, dammit!

What’s this? YOU’RE LEAVING HIM ALONE IN A ROOM? ALL BY HIMSELF? Oh he’s just like my cat. Buggy is yelling SO much. He ain’t stopping either. He needs to be with you 24/7. Buggy is meowing nonstop for hours.

He doesn’t like it when you stop being all cuddly and sweet with him after he acts like he hates it. He’s sad and he head butts his human for more. He will lay on top of you and force you to pet him. He’ll purposefully scratches things while staring into your soul because you won’t pet him.

Zoomies

He’s a goddamn gremlin. Buggy is stomping around, running so fast while his tail is between his legs. He’s making noises like a race car while jumping, flipping in the air, circling on carpet and sliding on hardwood.

The slightest movement from you will make him run and jump straight at you. He’s insane during zoomies. Best to leave a bunch of toys out and keep a water gun with sea salt to shoot him with as you try to stay in a Buggy-free room. Trust me, it’s for your own safety and sanity.

(We have water guns for my cat as well. He does exactly this but the race car nosies)

How he met his human

Buggy was abandoned. He was filthy and left on the streets to live or die. It was a rainy evening as the sun was about to start setting. Buggy was at the edge of the sidewalk as the rain was hitting his head. He wasn’t annoyed by it, but he looked so sad and looked like he was about to cry.

Then a human looked at him, trying to get closer and started talking to him. Out of fear, he ran and hid under between garbage cans. When the human followed him, he hissed. He was scared, only just a little baby kitty.

When the human left, he went back to just watching the rain, trying to stay warm. But then the human came back. Buggy arched his cat and started to hiss…until he was the food in the human’s hand.

After some hesitation, he started to eat the food. He was pretty hungry. Buggy struggled to eat the food a little bit since he was so small. Eventually he trusted the human enough to let them pick him up.

“Aren’t you a strange kitty?” Buggy just stared at the human, letting out a cute little meow, melting the human’s heart instantly. He was cold, shivering and still hungry.

Once at the human’s house, they fed him and took him into a bathroom to clean him off. He was pretty dirty. Being wrapped up in a towel, he kept meowing, staring at the human. Them baby talking him and pressing a little kiss on his nose, he started to warm up a little bit more.

He explored his new house, loving the fireplace and the heat that came from the fire. Buggy meowed loudly and ran up his human’s leg when they showed him his clean red striped bandanna, putting it back on.

(He also loves dress up)

Buggy grew very close, but now is very clingy and hates being left alone with the fear of abandonment still affects him. He doesn’t want to left alone again. Even though he’s been with the human for a long time, the abandonment is still there.

But one night by the fireplace with a cozy blanket in his human’s lap, his human rubs his face. And Buggy realizes that he really has found his human and no longer has to worry about being left behind, closing his eyes and falling to sleep.

Okay so - as a blorbologist, I would like your assistance. I thought I knew the difference between a blorbo and a babygirl but I am questioning my precious understanding.

I always thought blorbo was a morally grey loveable cranky character and babygirl is a cinnamon roll. Basically blorbo was the “could kill you” end of the “cinnamon roll to could kill you” spectrum.

Please enlighten me- am I correct? What is the different between babygirl and blorbo. Thanks.

Before I say anything, I need to make it clear that all tumblr-related classification is constantly evolving with trends and time, like some antibiotic-resistant bacteria. So a lot of the definitions tend to be malleable! For the sake of simplicity, I'm using Urban Dictionary as my definitions, informed by my own time in fandom, though it can lag behind fandom trends and lack nuance. So take the following with a grain of salt:

A blorbo is your favorite character; it is a definition free of any connotations in regards to their morality, attractiveness, or how pathetic they are. Blorbos are usually from fictional media, but I've rarely seen it apply to celebrities. Your blorbo could be literally any character ever, regardless of screentime or role in the story - or even the actors portraying them!

Meanwhile, babygirl is a far more restrictive term that generally is intended somewhat ironically; the babygirl is, in fact, not a baby nor a girl, but an adult man*. The babygirl is usually also attractive to the poster (but might not fit media standards of what's attractive). Babygirl is more universally given to both characters and real people (e.g. Pedro Pascale), and can apply to men* anywhere in terms of morality (though you will find some communities lean toward babygirl being as ironic as possible and applied to only morally grey or evil male characters, vs others that mean it a bit more genuinely).

(I say men* because, at least from my observation, more and more babygirls are breaking the gender binary and are not actually characters/people who ID as men. But it's 'historically' been a fandom term predominantly given to men.)

Now, you'll notice that neither blorbo nor babygirl matches up really well with the 'could kill you' <--> 'cinnamon roll that could kill you' scale you presented in your ask! I think the definitions you might be looking for are 'poor little meow meow' (awful/morally grey character/person who is absolutely not a poor little anything) and a 'cinnamon roll' (firmly good, often infantilized character/person).

This graph by @luulapants helps get the distinction across well (though I've seen people's blorbos be cinnamon rolls and poor little meow meow, so I would quibble with blorbo being implied to be the middle ground between the extremes).

TLDR; blorbos are favorite characters, babygirls are usually attractive adults, poor little meow meows could and likely would kill you, and cinnamon rolls are good (and would probably be sad if they killed you). Your blorbo can be a babygirl, or a poor little meow meow and a babygirl and a blorbo at once!

THOR: first of all, he’s so fucking hot. his smile caught me so off guard tho, i kinda just stood there watching the screen, baffled. not much character to him, he’s just hot. 7/10

LU BU: i’m chinese, i literally feel so happy when i see chinese characters. biased, but definitely a plus. he, just like thor, has little to no character. first character i called hot, is hot, but there are hotter characters. (what, i am not talking abt hermes wdym?) 7/10

HERMES: 10/10. no explanation. my man right there. i literally scream & cream every time i see him. why is he so fine. not a single panel or clip where he looks bad. pls eat me out, sir i beg. i will serve you. ONE CHANCE. JUST ONE?? i’m in love with him. who needs real men or women when hermes.

GOLL: she is SO ANNOYING. her eng & jp voice are both annoying asl. she’s that one character, that exists in mostly every anime, used to explain background info & battle info on other characters. brunhilde is too nice on her. she reminds me of when i first saw yachi (haikyuu) on screen. yachi, too, was annoying. but i grew to love her🫶. 1/10

ZEUS: idgaf what anyone says, he’s not hot. not even his younger self. he looks like mirio (mha) turned netero (hxh). love his character tho. the eyes scared me at first. he’s hilarious. 5/10

ADAM: my friend, the one who recommended snv to me, told me he’d be more my type. he was, minus the fact that’s he literally butt fucking naked. nice ass cheeks tho. def pretty boy, his wife is hot too. i want her more😋. his line abt fighting for his children made me cry. should’ve won. i say, let hermes be uncleless & fatherless. 7/10

POSEIDON: he was fs the blueprint for adam. anywho, yk hes fine. SOOO FINE. meowing for him. he doesn’t beat hermes tho. nobody beats hermes. well, look wise at least. it was rlly hard choosing who to root for in this fight. that’s a lie, i was always on humanity’s side. sad he died:( 9/10. -1 for being a little, arrogant, narcissistic, egotistical bitch. 8/10

SASAKI KOJIRO: see, zeus coulda been hot like him at that old age. man aged like fine wine. character was a W. hot, determined, good character, funny. what else can you want from a man? 8/10

HERACLES: disappointed. so disappointed. he looked better in the disney ver. this fight was so boring for me. you’re telling me i’m supposed to watch the fight instead of ogling at hot characters? no. character was okay. 6/10

JACK THE RIPPER: massive L. not supporting a murderer. next. 0/10

SHIVA: hot from the beginning. 4 arms? do what you want to me, sir. 3 WIVES? tengen (kny), is that you bro?😭 anywho, he’s cocky, def my type irl LMAO. i wouldn’t let that slide tho.. his wives are hot too😋 8/10

RAIDEN TAMEEMON: i paid very little attention to this fight. don’t remember his backstory too well (i read this fight not even 24 hours ago btw). not that good looking, not ugly either. i liked his character, upset he took 3 of shiva’s arms. why 3? why not 2? he got 1 arm left. 4/10

BUDDHA: THATS MY GOD RIGHT THERE. ate. i’m not religious, and neither are my family, but they are buddhist, so by default, i am too. i personally think buddhism is the best religion, but we’re not gonna get into that. i have very valid reasons btw. love his personality, love his looks. massive W. ofc he fights for humanity. he’s a walking W. 9/10

ZEROFUKU: precious. definition of deserved better. what made me sad, is how he was written during the fight. he’s consistently hitting, with little to no strategy. his backstory is sad, but his battle exp was written poorly. also the random ass monster possessing took me tf out. 7/10

HADES: fine ass mf. he’s so different from how he’s usually portrayed, both look & personality wise. the first W netflix has pulled. he’s hot and responsible? persephone, we can share him babes. also, the relationship between him & poseidon made me SOB. like actually. hurt so bad i made an angst edit. 9/10

QIN SHI HUANG: first off, i don’t do research on my own ethnicity’s history. i didn’t even know who tf lu bu was. my family knew tho. with that aside, PROUD TO BE CHINESE❗️ he’s so fine. SO FINE. the way his character was written, was wonderful. i loved the fight between him & hades. the tension & the lengths they went to try & win. 9/10

BEELZEBUB: his backstory was so tragic. what i didn’t like, was how they rushed his & lilith’s story. like, they kinda randomly said i love you to each other. i’d love to see their adventures tgt. lilith, leave that emo thing, and come be w me. he’s fine too. i rlly like how they introduced him. 8/10

NIKOLA TESLA: i don’t have much of an opinion on him. very chatty, which i don’t actually mind. i guess we’ll have to wait for more chapters to release before i form an opinion on him. 5/10

ODIN: the hair bro. THE HAIR. i keep forgetting he exists, but i’m not his biggest fan. not bad, but i prefer his sons. i do like the theory of him being a traitor. he looks the part. 5/10

LOKI: honestly, i liked him a lot in the beginning, but now, it’s like he’s kinda on the side. cute & hot. thor is the better brother tho. speaking of, how tf are they even brothers? moving on, i like his personality. i like his shocked, mixed w angry, facial expressions more. 7/10

ARES: the hair again. very stylish, i do like it, but it took me out. walking around looking like a school girl. i don’t like how he tries to be a know-it-all w hermes, when he literally relies on him for info. but that’s my man for you. his expressions are SO WELL. 6/10

ADAMAS: i was awfully confused, at first, when there were 3 older brothers to zeus. usually, it’s just hades, poseidon & zeus. not his biggest fan, his character was rushed. 4/10

Tanned, big, brawny. Not like absolutely ripped. Idk why I always picture him with blonde hair for some reason. I'd also give him like a stubble (I tried drawing the fucker with a full beard but accidentally drew a certain fucking x men instead and immediately erased it), I picture him with a lot of scars as well. His head shape is more square and also strong jaw, I bet he kinda slouches too so bad posture. Wild shaggy hair that reaches his shoulder and green eyes. He has this droopy eyes that makes him look tired and straight brows so he looks tough in a sad way lmao. oh and maybe eyebags. Wears a winter coat with a tattered white shirt, black trousers and combat boots, idk why I rlly want him to wear a hat but I'm not sure what, maybe he ties his hair sometimes when hunting doe.

Twink. Just a slender dude. He's soft and squishy. Maybe to contrast it a little, he's a bit taller than average. ofc we know he has strawberry blonde hair and amber eyes (I think). Definitely more on soft boy. I've always pictured him with pale or fair skin. Low ponytail, no bangs, hair reaches to upper back, smooth and silky hair. Big, round, innocent eyes. I imagine when we go to a more corruption route, his eyes gets sultry and half-lidded quickly and maybe add a bit more muscle to his figure. I also picture him having something more deliberately messy like a wolfcut or layered hair. also I like the idea if he dyes the tip of his hair white for some reason. Straight posture but gets a little fruity when corrupted. Pure Syd wears a sweater vest, school blouse, a tie, long school trousers, and school shoes. Corrupt Syd wears an unbuttoned school blouse, long school trousers but I imagine he has those chain belts, and then combat boots (in winter, pure Syd wears peacoat but corrupt wears a hoodie n beanie) OH and ear piercings

Wet cat aesthetic. Slouches which makes him seem smaller than he already is. Green, wide-set eyes, looks scary as fuck if he staring at you in the dark. I wanna picture him having a bit of a chubby stomach bcs this fucker would suck at swimming and gym and also has a poor diet. Black wavy hair, looks fluffy and is short but it's so unevenly cut that it's obvious he cut it from frustration. Eyebags, some real dark circles. Gets sweaty easily so he always seem greasy even though he showers daily. In my playthrough, he's always set as dark skin so I picture having a cold, bronze colour. I find it so funny he carries a knife cause his clumsy ass would accidentally cut himself so some scars on his palms. I always see him wearing a hoodie, long trousers, and some normal school shoes. I think a game logo or somesort on hoodie would be a nice added detail bcs he goes to the arcade. Freckles :3. I always imagine he has some wild strength despite how he looks bcs he can carry PC to his house w ease and without getting caught like srsly idk how but the gap of it makes it attractive *twirls hair*

Do you have any favorite little headcanons for any of the founders that you kind of default use no matter the fic or setting

Great question! I have plenty of headcanons for these guys, but some of them are indeed too specific to be universal for every kind of setting, so taking out those that actually could be more universal is difficult. This is gonna be a pretty long one, so I'll be nice and put a divider up.

Tobirama:

Tobirama is on the autism spectrum, and since it's fantasy Edo period, it can be something incredibly hard for him to navigate. I believe representing his ASD can be a slippery slope, given how easy it would be to simplify him into "autistic boy genius with no social skills" stereotype, which I find very trite. He sure is a genius, given his excessive achievements in jutsus, and maybe his social skills aren't amazing, but he's definitely trying his best and I don't think he comes off as heartless. I would have to write a seperate post all about his autism, because this post could reach 10k words if I continue right now.

Tobirama's mother came from the Hatake clan. Pretty straightforward, it would explain why he looks so different and also creates drama around him for being different. Albino!Tobirama is not a bad concept either, but it doesn't bring me as much joy. @fashionredalert gave me a fantastic prompt of the Senju clan being far less obsessed with blood than the Uchiha, which also makes a very compelling story beat (hi Amy :) )

Tobirama's seals are tattooed, or carved into his face (depending on my mood teehee). The ones on his face help him see, since generally he'd be considered legally blind. Adds additional drama if he were to be captured or imprisoned.

Hashirama:

Hashirama is a very loving older brother. He's suffered so much loss in his life and now, left with only one baby brother, he makes sure to love and cherish him as much as possible. Sure, he was ready to give up Tobirama's right to the Hokage title for Madara, but I believe he had only the best of intentions and that decision didn't come from his distrust in Tobirama himself.

Mokuton kinda... does shit to Hashirama's brain. Not necessarily dark!Hashirama concept on its own, but definitely something that impacts his perception and his way of living. Trees talk to him and he talks to the trees. Does he listen to their instructions? What do the trees want?

Hashirama is taller than his canon height, because I said so. Oh... tall like a tree...

Madara:

I never really look to Kishimoto's art for body references, since he tends to draw all bodies in a very similar way. That being said I see Madara as a real rectangle of a man, 0 waist, big arms, big chest, big legs, sprinkle in a nice layer of fat on top and you have my man. I'd bite into him any day.

I'll eat rocks before I render Madara a pathetic meow meow. He's a complex man with layers of pride and shame (mmm... lasagna...), and making him pathetic or really dense in order to elevate Tobirama or Hashirama (I've seen it happen in both cases) just makes me sad. I let him be his smart, brash self.

Madara has horrible, horrible oral fixation and is generally a huge weirdo in bed<3

Izuna:

Izuna is kind of a blank slate and I love him to bits. I've enjoyed a lot of different characterisations people give him, but I think my most favourite of all are the ones where he's quite chill. His brother is always on some shit with Hashirama, and Tobirama has a stick so deep up his ass it must scratch his brain: of course Izuna wouldn't be able to take all of that seriously all the time. He cares deeply for his clan and maybe dies for its sake (depends on a fic you know), but he's not a stoic, nor a haughty warrior.

That being said, I quite enjoy making Izuna an obnoxious brat when interacting with Tobirama. I think pushing his buttons and seeing him react so viciously makes Izuna's day better. Torment that stupid bitch, yay!!

You can always make an argument that his happy-go-lucky attitude is a facade that protects him from pain. Let's not forget how much suffering this boy has experienced from a very young age. You can always put a sense of profound sadness into him and make me, as a reader or a writer, suffer from heartache.

Mito:

I love Mito and Mito erasure is frowned upon in this household. She's a strong person, a master of seals, and probably one of the only forces in this universe that could pull Hashirama down from whatever bullshit he'd go on. They love each other tremendously and have an incredibly strong bond. Their sex life must be insane...

Mito has a fierce Uzumaki attitude, and has a strong presence around the Senju clan, who generally treat her with respect (after all, she's the clan head's wife). Do not cross her, I cannot stress this enough.

She enjoys spending time with her brother-in-law, since they are both crazy about seals and could talk, speculate and experiment with them for hours on end. At first, when Hashirama was yet to be married, Tobirama had a huge anxiety about talking to her, because she felt like this idol of seal-craft and Tobirama felt silly</3

okay after that tag game I can’t help but think about my faves as cats. I need to ramble now.

Giyuu: cute all black cat. Hair on the longish side, but surprisingly easy to care for. He’s an overall chill cat. Maybe a little too chill. Sometimes you really wander what’s going on in his head, he’s been staring at that same spot on the wall for a hour now. Not amused much by toys. Will go crazy for crinkly ones but gets of them quite easily and just paws at it gently instead of flinging it across the room and chasing after it like he was moments ago. Occasionally gets him stuck in places he can’t get himself out of. He was just curious. And now regrets it. Seems almost humanly embarrassed whenever you gotta help him out. He loves sitting on your lap and chest. He’ll knead your chest too. Always wants to be near you and see what you’re doing. He will follow you into the bathroom. NO closed doors in this household. He’ll press his nose against the door and meow so loud and sad until you open it up. His meow quickly turning cute and innocent.

Aki: Little brat tbh LMAO. All black short hair cat. He’s a petty ass cat. He will knock your water off your table if you fed him two minutes late. Loves cuddles though, so clingy. Has a real nice loud and deep purr. Looovvesss scritches on the chin, he does the whole eye squint and pushing his head out to get more. He’ll knead on you too. He don’t care, he wanna use your thigh, even if you didn’t cut his claws yet. He’s finally being affectionate, you gotta smile through the pain. He only wants attention once HE demands it. He’s the cuddliest thing when he approaches you first. But you see him sitting all cute in his tower and want to come up and pet him?? WHACK. He likes to sleep in bed with you every night though. And he INSISTS on sharing your pillow. If it snows where you live, he likes to watch the snowflakes through the window. He’ll walk around in the snow if you put him out there but he’s doing the whole one step *shake foot* one step *shake foot* and that’s about all he’ll do. He’s (slowly) walking back into the house. Jumps on your shoulder and watches you cook.

Kento: one of them fancy spotted ones. I’ll look up the specifies later. Idk what kinds of temperaments those kinds of cats would have. But this is Kento energy now so it don’t matter bc I said so. He’s the most easy going cat anybody would ever own. He’s why the stereotype of cats being “fully independent pets” came from. Barely vocal, he’s a very quiet cat. He’ll only speak once it’s getting close to his feeding time. You always feed him at 6pm?? He’s meowing politely and sitting patiently at his bowl at exactly 5:50 to remind you it’s almost time to feed him and to not be late. Just about as affectionate as Aki. He needs his alone time, and will come to you when he’s craving cuddles again. Has a real deep purr, low and sometimes you either gotta feel him or lean in close to hear his purrs. He always smells so good, he doesn’t really get stinky. He will clean himself after you kiss him lolol. He likes sitting on your lap. He’s also ALWAYS curious about what your cookin. He never wants to eat any of the food you give him to sniff, he simply just wants to sniff and watch lolol.

Shouta: such a sassy cat. Definitely a stray you randomly just came home with one day with no preparation whatsoever. Very very recluses cat. Doesn’t like hugs, doesn’t like being held. Doesn’t like being groomed bc it goes into being man handled. Such a soft little baby once he starts to warm up to you though (which definitely takes a while). Softly nudges your arm with his face, looking at you with big sad eyes bc he wants pets lolol. He never sits on top of you either, he’ll always be touching but never on top. When he does, it’s RARE!!! Maybe once a year. And it will be your chest when you’re sleeping lolol. Snooziest cat, he doesn’t like toys, he almost looks like he finds them ridiculous. Old man in a cats body. WILL make himself comfy. Bought him a bed? Nah, your blanket and pillows are better.

but CIRCLING back to the actual question here we go, the sheer LIST of headcanons that exist in my mind forever:

i mentioned it like numerous times but the height difference,,, leafy is tall while pin is short

related 2 above headcanon, but this means leafy is much faster than pin (because longer legs means longer strides). leafy often lets pin piggyback on her so they can get to places faster. a lot of other objects tend to also be taller than pin so leafy will like give her a bit of a boost there too.

leafy has a long mental list of silly pet names to call pin. not all of them make a lick of sense, but as stupid as these names get, pin just really enjoys them.

pin doesn't really use pet names for leafy other than leafster.

leafy goes through phases of interests on really random things. i had a silly oneshot planned where she gets super into horses and how silly they are as animals. typically, pin does her best to provide her girlfriend a lot of enrichment in these times even if that means sitting and listening to leafy's hourlong lecture about horse coat colors.

pin definitely has a hard time expressing or communicating her emotions because she is constantly set on "resting bitch face" mode. leafy always helps her put a name to what she's feeling.

they're big cuddlers. they always wake up in each other's arms (real)

speaking of sleeping, leafy takes all the blankets for herself because she gets cold easier. pin gets hot too easy so shes ok with it

leafy is literally the only one pin listens to wholeheartedly. to others, pin often just dismisses them or zones out entirely.

pin lets leafy win at tic-tac-toe as well as other games

in terms of their temperaments, leafy is much slower to anger compared to pin. this allows leafy to pacify pin whenever its needed

leafy is the only one able to read pin's absolutely HORRID handwriting

leafy is good at artsy stuff. pin isn't except for cartography stuff.

winter is a tough time for them. it's pin's favorite season because she can handle the cold easily, but its dampened by the fact that leafy goes through hibernation. it always turns out ok and she does it because there's not enough sun for her to be awake, but it REALLY stresses pin out. she's extra overprotective over her plant gf during this time.

pin comforts leafy when she's upset. she does it with lots of snuggles, compliments, and little treats to snack on. when leafy feels better, pin proceeds to beat up whoever made her sad in the first place.

pin has a bad habit of forgetting her own well-being. she WILL give up life and limb if it means leafy will be safe in the end. this affects all aspects of her life and leafy often has to sit her down so she can rest. this is especially very important whenever pin is injured or sick b/c she will absolutely not give herself enough time to heal.

leafy doesn't feel safe sleeping alone, she has to be next to pin or else she'll have some major sleeping troubles.

they just LOVE to gossip with each other. think the plastics in Mean Girls with their burn book. yeah, that, but only between them.

Thanks, anon! I rewatched Nimona with my cousin just last week AND reread the comic, so you're in luck because I have a bunch of new thoughts and headcanons.

(WEEWOO WEEWOO, SPOILERS for the comic and the movie below, proceed at your own risk.)

- At the beginning of the movie, it's implied that Nimona was there for every step of the kingdom's development, or at least keeping tabs on it since she knew about Gloreth's knights. Did she disguise herself as a rando civilian, like she did in the comic when checking on Ballister? If so, how long did it take her to assume her default human form again? Until Gloreth passed on? Until there was no one alive who remembers her human form?

(I say "default human form" in like a humansona sense and not the default sense, though. She seems used to retaining a specific appearance for each form she takes, unless she's shifting for disguise purposes.)

- Baby Ballister literally ripping the head off the horse he was attacking is kinda cute, but also very sobering when you remember that if the Institution had accepted him wholeheartedly, he would have become their greatest asset but also Nimona's second greatest enemy besides the Director. It's a great way to establish that he was ready to fight and die for the Institute even before it begrudgingly accepted him, not because ND randomly decided to make him a sad little meow meow who struggled to find a purpose beyond serving the Institute.

- Meredith Blitzmeyer, my beloved, it was truly a tragedy that your character got cut from the movie but it needed to be done. A device that stops Nimona from shifting, in a movie where shifting is a metaphor for queerness and possibly neurodivergence? Nah, that would have ruined the whole plot.

- (I would have loved it if the movie revealed she was the one who developed the laser sword and the Director's laser staff, though. Give me a chaotic neutral scientist with no concept of the consequences that come with making things for evil people, any day.)

- When I first read the comic, I struggled to interpret Nimona's final words to Ballister: "I was just playing with you". After rereading it, I'm pretty sure she wasn't. Movie Nimona and Comic Nimona's arcs seem similar on the surface, but Comic Nimona canonically looks her age because she didn't become a shapeshifter until some time after Ambrosius blasted Ballister's arm off. Ballister may be the movie's freshly traumatised character, but it's Nimona who plays that role in the comics.

- What this means is she probably DID see herself as a monster even though it was an unhealthy way to define herself, and she was looking for someone who'd tell her, "You're right, this is you, and I accept it." instead of trying to comfort her by denying this part of her identity. Hence, why she was so hurt when Ballister tried that exact wrong answer with her, and she reacted by denying their bond was real in the first place.

- That being said, I highkey suspect Comic Nimona only survived because Ballister DID get through to her. When she tells Ballister that she will disintegrate after splitting herself, Ballister insists that SHE'S the strong part that will survive, not the monster and more importantly, he apologised to the monster after beating it AND calls it by Nimona's name. She saw with her own eyes that Ballister not only acknowledged both parts of her identity in the end, but also saw the humanity in her even when she herself believed what the world told her: that she was a monster.

- This definitely influenced the "Movie Nimona is passively suicidal" plot point because both near-deaths feature Nimona succumbing to the world's hatred against her, and it's Ballister who has to pull her out of that self-destructive spiral. The only difference is the movie wanted to show how disproportionate and irrational queerphobic oppression is, while the comic zeroed in on the hypocrisy of fearing Nimona's destructive tendencies while the Institute was the one who could have poisoned the entire kingdom by accident.

- (Grabs you by the face) Do you understand how feral this realisation made me? Do you understand the danger of queer people accepting their "deviance" without stripping away the label's negative connotations before it can mess with their self-perception? DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW BADLY ND STEVENSON DRAGGED QUEERPHOBES IN BOTH VERSIONS OF THE STORY?

4. Shen Yuan transmigrates as a servant in the Qiu household and adopts Shen Jiu on sight. Sorry Yue Qi, there is a new big brother in town. It takes Shen Yuan literally until, like, Shen Jiu gets his courtesy name for Shen Yuan to go "Oh! This is the scum villain????? But he's my poor little meow meow." Somehow Shen Yuan befriends Tianlang-Jun in this AU.

5. Definitely some sort of roleswap....... airplane and cucumber swapping places would be A Thing. But also Liu Qingge and Shen Qingqiu swapping roles would be good..... (I've definitely seen Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe AND Luo Binghe and Shen Yuan swapping places and it is so good. But branching out.)

6. ATLA au (self explanatory. Luo binghe is the Avatar. Duh.)

7. Also KNY au (I just want to draw everyone in that style haha, but Luo Binghe definitely got turned into a demon and is struggling to regain his humanity. Or not. Depends on who he meets on the way, really.) I was going to say Liu Qingge is the Giyuu parallel but... Rengoku is RIGHT there....

What sort of close friend do you think Aemond, Aegon and/or would Daemon be?

Hiii!! This is very interesting to think about tbh! I was thinking about it, and obviously we aren't reeeally shown any of them having non-familial based friendships.

This got long because I'm sooooooo normal, so headcanons below the cut

Daemon is particularly interesting in my mind, because I don't think he's ever had a real friendship of any sort. The closest I think he's gotten to having a friend is probably when he was in charge of the gold cloaks and when he was off at the stepstones. But even then I think it only went as far as camaraderie: these were men he was in charge of, working with, fighting alongside. There might be a bond there for sure, but I don't think it was ever something I'd call friendship. I see Daemon as exceptionally hierarchical, he sees everyone inseparably from their place on the hierarchy, and I think that would carry into any start of true friendship he might encounter. I think the start of any friendship worth its salt with Daemon might have a perplexing start.

He definitely wouldn't be the sort of friend that would pull figurative punches, he's definitely the sort to be brutally honest - but in a close friendship he wouldn't be needlessly cruel. He might say shit that'd hurt your feelings, and he might apologize for the delivery (rarely, more likely if called out on saying something shitty), but never for the content of what he's said. I do think he'd be pretty loyal to anyone he deemed worthy of being a close friend - until he had something major, and i mean major to gain. That aside, I think he'd be decently trustworthy and do his very best to keep his word to a close friend. There'd always be a little bit of a power imbalance in the friendship, what with him being a Targ prince and all, but I think there'd be respect regardless. Show him loyalty in the friendship and he'll do the same.

Now, have you ever had that friend that texts you 30 minutes to 9pm and tells you they're gonna be there at 9 to pick you up and go to bars with three other people until 2am? That's Aegon. Any close friend of his is probably constantly being dragged into his party boy antics (Aemond voice: depravity), or he's at least attempting to drag them into it. You have to be down to drink with him, or else there's no way he's spending enough time around you for any real friendship to start. Honestly I see a close friendship with him starting because he got a little too sad!drunk and whoever was around that was nice ended up taking care of his messy weepy pathetic little meow meow ass (affectionate)(derogatory) and they had some sort of heart to heart bonding moment.

I see Aegon doing silly things to express his platonic affection: kind gestures or gifts wrapped in the shape of a joke or a prank to cover up the sincerity ("hashtag no homo" vibes). He'd help you cover up any fuck ups you get anxious about with a casual wave of his hand, a pouch of coin, and pushing you to sit and join him for a drink in his solar type vibes.

Aemond, shockingly, I think would be the healthiest close friend. Loyal, serious af, wants to just talk about princely Targaryen nonsense like his studies, his training, he'd vent about Aegon, and he'd be interested in his friend's life in return. He'd be a more tactful about his opinions than Daemon, but he wouldn't coddle your feelings either and he'd be honest about pretty much everything. This is the friend you play board games with and talk about like, your feelings about god with and how you feel about how your life is going. A little pretentious, but takes you seriously too. I do think there would be like... Similar to Daemon, even with a close friend the power imbalance is always under the surface but he's chill about it 99% of the time

love her!!! her character development was AMAZING, going from miserable and clinging to false gods to fighting for a cause greater than herself. her backstory is genuinely heartbreaking, but then it's wonderful how she overcomes it. plus her relationship with casca is just so tender and sweet, its honestly one of the best parts of the entire series for me.

Schierke

BABY GIRLLLLL i love her so much too!!!! she's just such a sweetie, she brings a bit of lightness to the series that we desperately need LOL. shes just a delight

LOL she's fine. I don't dislike her don't get me wrong!!!! and her design is awesome, but there isn't a whole lot to her at the moment.

UGH im going to cry. also i know post-eclipse casca isn't really anyone's favorite and like, i get it LOL but also one thing i love love LOVE about berserk is the supportive relationships between women, so seeing the way women really nurture and take care of casca throughout conviction arc and beyond is one of my fav things!!

Farnese

Again just her incredible character development, the way she's written is just so heartbreaking once you get the chapters about her family life. She starts off as selfish and insecure and very much not likeable LOL but as you keep watching you see her grow and change. She's flawed in such a realistic way imo but by forging these real, genuine connections she becomes a better person herself. It's rlly emblematic of the themes of berserk

Schierke

She's so fricken OP LOL. The scenes of her calling up the water spirit and calling up the death god are SO cool. It was honestly awesome to see a woman take part in the "fighting" again (i mean for a given definition of fighting). Like she's just this teeny cute lil witch but she's genuinely one of the most powerful characters in the series!!

It's <Maya Theme (Sad)> that kills me on impact in P2, the score is just fantastic. It also just has all these fun little bits, like different character themes to punctuate moments. I really like Baofu's in EP and Eikichi's in IS (because the latter plays for demon contracts, he's so normal).

Scrimblo Bimblo: I don't pay enough attention to general community stuff to know who really counts as underrated. But! I feel like Sandman has a lot of potential with how often he's depicted not wanting to cause trouble or just a guy dealt a bad hand. Any media exploring that side gets good stuff going and it's always unfortunate to see him reduced to "evil guy #4136"

Glup Shitto: Power Pack my beloved. These kids were included in some Spider-Man comic pack back in the day and I just. These kids stuck with me. Never heard anyone talk of them. Never found enough of their comics to know if they had any longer plot lines than "a dimensional rift opened in the basement while mom was out" or "a skull crashed in our backyard" or "a mutant kid keeps teleporting to bright lights so we carried him home" but they always had a great charm to them

Poor Little Meow Meow: the Spot, specifically the AtSV depiction. Textbook definition of sad wet beast that embraced the sog and became all-powerful. Such an intriguing villain, can't wait for BtSV. Can you tell I really like Spider-Man significantly more than the rest? Lmao
