Sibling War - Riddle Family Affair

The Riddle Manor had seen many battles—duels of power, wars of ideology, the clash of darkness and light.

But nothing—nothing—was as violent as the rivalry between Delphini and Mattheo Riddle.

"You absolute dumbass! You took my broom without asking, and now it's snapped in half!" Delphini shrieked, brandishing the broken remnants of her prized Nimbus 2001 like a murder weapon.

Mattheo, sprawled lazily across the velvet couch, didn't even look up from flipping his dagger between his fingers. "Relax, Del. I’ll get you a new one. That thing was ancient anyway."

"Ancient? Ancient?" Her voice climbed an octave, dangerously close to shattering the chandelier above. "That was a collector’s edition, you half-brained, ego-inflated, insufferable—"

"Oh, here we go." Mattheo groaned, rolling his eyes. "Merlin’s balls, you’re such a drama queen. Maybe if you weren’t so busy obsessing over a stupid broom, you’d actually have a life."

Delphini launched herself at him.

Mattheo barely dodged, leaping over the back of the couch as she swung the broken broom at his head. He laughed, dodging her second strike. "You really think you can take me, little sister?"

"You absolute prick—"

Marvolo sighed from his seat by the fireplace, flipping a page in his book. "You know Father is going to kill you both if you destroy the sitting room again."

Delphini hurled a hex. Mattheo dodged, and the spell obliterated a marble bust of Salazar Slytherin.

Marvolo just sighed louder. "And there it is."

"YOU’RE PAYING FOR THAT," Delphini screeched.

Mattheo smirked. "Make me, baby sister."

The house shook as another hex exploded against the walls. The family tapestry burst into flames. An entire bookshelf rattled, and somewhere, a window shattered.

And then—

The temperature dropped.

A sharp, suffocating chill filled the room, and the lights flickered out. Every candle in the manor snuffed out at once. The only sound was the heavy, deliberate click of polished shoes against the marble floor.

The hairs on the back of Marvolo’s neck stood up.

Mattheo and Delphini froze mid-duel.

From the darkness, Tom Riddle emerged.

His robes billowed behind him as if he were some ancient shadow made flesh. His gaze was slow and deliberate as it raked over the ruined room—the broken bust, the smoldering tapestry, the shattered window.

Neither Mattheo nor Delphini moved.

"Would one of you," Tom’s voice was silk stretched over steel, "like to explain to me why my home currently resembles the aftermath of a war zone?"

Silence.

A pause.

Then—

"Delphini started it," Mattheo said immediately.

"You unhinged, gaslighting bastard—"

"Enough." Tom didn’t raise his voice. He didn’t need to.

The air thickened, pressing down on all three of them like gravity itself had turned against them.

Delphini swallowed. Mattheo shut his mouth.

Marvolo, wisely, stayed out of it.

Tom folded his hands behind his back. "You will clean this entire room before dinner. You will repair every inch of damage done to this house." His voice lowered to something far more dangerous. "And you will do so in absolute silence."

Delphini opened her mouth.

Tom’s gaze flickered to her.

She snapped it shut.

"Good." Tom turned, his robes sweeping behind him as he left the room, leaving nothing but cold fear in his wake.

The moment he was gone, Mattheo exhaled, rubbing his face. "You’re so lucky he didn’t Crucio us."

Delphini shoved him. "You’re so lucky I didn’t Crucio you."

Marvolo just flipped another page. "Idiots."

Delphi ships Scorpius x Albus

Really, how can people not consider The Cursed Child canon when these gems are in it?

And I love how in the new version Scorpius clearly says that Delphi is "old". He's so wild when he's jealous

I'm working on a layout of the new script where Albus and Scorpius are canonically confirmed, and I'm also translating it into Italian if you're interested

The reason Delphi is called the Augury in the Dark timeline (where she was raised by her parents and not bullied by Euphemia Rowle) is because of the old legend of an Aurgury’s cry fortelling death. The Death Eaters started calling her that when she was a baby because anyone who made her cry was going to get killed by her parents.

There's such a fine balance between Scorpius knowing that Delphi can't be trusted but not being able to explain why, and also distrusting her simply because he's afraid she will take Albus away from him.

And it's something that is so interesting to look at.

Because, for the longest time, it's always been Albus and Scorpius. And he wants to like Delphi because Albus does, but he also doesn't trust her. And he doesn't want to be pushed out.

The emotional turmoil that he would have surrounding that isn't talked about enough.

everything that has changed in the extra shortened broadway version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child:

i went for a friend's birthday last night and got to see the now newly shortened (again) cursed child play and there were a lot of differences. it was super fast paced and didn't leave the actors a lot of time to breathe or live in their characters as much. it was still so lovely but it's definitely more of a shell than it once was. that being said! my friend and i have compiled a list of all the things that have been altered (that we can remember)

i tried to put everything as in order as possible but my brain isn’t always very good at that!

ACT 1

The whole bit about Hermione thinking Ron confunded the driving examiner is cut

“People always look when you three are together” bit is cut

Albus and Rose happen upon Scorpius much quicker in his compartment

Rose doesn’t say anything when Albus is sorted into Slytherin

There’s been a rumor about Voldemort having a child every year Scorpius isn’t the first to be accused was cut from Draco and Harry’s interaction on the platform.

Albus doesn't ask "What's the counter-curse?" in the potions scene; significantly cut down

Wandlore dance is extended slightly (I think??)

When Albus casts “Incendio” on his Hogsmeade slip, he doesn’t follow it up with his “The ironic thing is I didn’t expect it to work. I’m terrible at that spell.” bit, just leaves after Harry speaks

Harry and Hermione walk into Harry’s office at the same time for the time turner reveal scene instead of Hermione walking in and Harry already being there

The time turner reveal scene is much quicker

When Albus meets Delphi at the stairs, his dialogue of "Who are you? Because this is my house…" is cut and she just skips into the "You must be Albus Potter." lines after popping in with her first few lines

Rose pulls Albus into the compartment this time to speak to him instead of just walking in front of him to speak with him

Dialogue between Albus and Rose is cut down a bit before he goes to get Scorpius off the train

I think the “You really are an enormous geek.” bit was taken out

When Albus asks Scorpius “Did Cedric need to be killed?, instead of saying “Easy question, easy answer: No.”, Scorpius quietly responds “No” before Albus continues on with his ramble

Draco doesn’t say “Voldemort is dead. Voldemort is gone”, his first line in this scene is after the Dark Mark mention

Amos doesn’t say “Of COURSE they do!” when Albus tells him that the ministry has a time turner

Albus, Scorpius, and Delphi (all transfigured into their counterparts at this point) don’t go into the telephone booth to go to the ministry; instead, Delphi/Hermione and Scorpius/Harry wander off one way while Albus/Ron goes the other way (the wrong way) and they have to call him back

No fishfinger sandwiches remark from Hermione to Albus/Ron :(

Bane is completely cut

They have Harry, Draco, Ginny and Ron all searching in the forest instead of just Harry then they split off only Harry being there.

Harry searches the forest instead of encountering Bane; Ginny has to come get him

Albus isn’t in his pajamas in the hospital ward when he wakes up, just his uniform

Harry comes to the realization somehow on his own that Scorpius is the issue “It isn’t a what that’s wounding him, it’s a who” (or something along those lines) and then bans Albus from seeing Scorpius

Ron and Hermione's encounter atop the stairs is MUCH shorter

The entire scene where Harry gives McGonagall the Marauders Map and instructs her to watch Albus and Scorpius is cut

No Bane mention in the Draco and Harry fight scene

If I recall, the lines “I don’t want to hurt you, Draco.” and “How interesting, because I do want to hurt you,” were said earlier in the scene because of cut dialogue

Ginny says “It’s been one minute. What did I miss?” instead of “I only left the room three minutes ago. What did I miss?”

When Harry, Ginny, and Draco go to McGonagall’s office, some dialogue is cut

ACT 2

The act starts with Scorpius on stage in this scene; he’s surrounded by the death eaters as they do the Voldemort Day dance around him instead of him being absent in this scene (only really good change in my opinion, it looked super neat and added to the story)

Scorpius is a lot more intimidating towards Craig when asking where Snape is (trying to take on this counterpart of Scorpion King)

Scorpius doesn’t hug Albus in the water when he reappears (very well could have just been a this showing thing)

Ron and Hermione’s “marriage renewal” scene is cut and changed to just them almost making out (big loss because that scene was amazing)

When Scorpius tells Albus he thought of him to fought off the dementors, Albus goes “Oh.” pauses and then goes , “I mean… Good,” softly

Dialogue is cut from the Owlery scene, including the “it’s time that time-turning became a thing of the past!“ silly bit

Ron doesn’t ramble too long at all about having drinks with Neville, it’s just one short sentence; added in that Delphi is an “older girl” (from the five hour cut originally) and Ron is all like “but go get ‘em I guess”

Ron says “specialis-draco-is-stupido” or something along the lines of that instead of directly repeating "specialis revelio" to mock him

Hermione unscrews the bulb instead of Ginny

No “Still, if I had to choose a companion to be at the return of eternal darkness with, I’d choose you.” bit, that whole scene is considerably shorter :(

Harry and Ginny have a bit of a longer chat in the church; Ginny goes “You're lucky to have me, aren't you?” and Harry responds with “Extremely.” (derived from the original 5-hour play but swapped with who says it)

Ginny and Albus don’t have their heart-to-heart in the church

Delphi's magic show (the fight at the end) is shorter and happens more rapidly than before

it's quite a lot looking at it all on paper. truthfully, i miss the old version. if anyone has seen this shortened version and can remember anything else and/or i'm misremembering anything, let me know! i know i was searching for this when the play was first shortened again so i hope this reaches others who might be curious!

I wanted to draw Delphi for some reason so I did this, idk it's my first time drawing her it could've been better ngl.

Maybe she's evil here, maybe she's not, idk if she has the same parents or different ones, maybe she's an intern at Hogwarts library, or a muggle one, I haven't really thought about what she could be like in my head tbh 😔

I do like the idea of Albus thinking she's really cool and Scorpius getting jealous, lol 🙂‍↕️

IT'S DELPHI! 😁

My small contribution to Bellamortfest. An almost traumatic reveal for Voldy.

Since Half Blood Prince we know Bellatrix cares enough about Narcissa to defy Voldemort. So its not hard to actually think that Bellatrix might care and love Delphi. At least in her own way.

She would see her father in her of course.

Clearly they wouldn't have much time with each other. Had Bella a chance to hold her? Likely. Does she try to look and see her master in that tiny face?

When Delphi is spirited away, clearly for her safety. Least, Bellatrix assumes until the war is over. She must have felt so reassured in that. Does she daydream about life after? When she is made Queen? When she has her Delphi?

Is she already picking out a bedroom for Delphi? Looking for clothes? Cute like robes and pointed hats. Does she start to wonder what her little baby will grow up to be like? Does she already have plans how to train her? Does she dreams of her future? How they will bond over the first day at Hogwarts?

When she sees Harry Potter "dead" in the forest is she ready to go back to Rowle and fetch her daughter?

We'll never know.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (NEW SCRIPT)

Since the closure of theaters in 2020 due to Covid the play The Cursed Child has been revised and modified, creating a shortened version not divided into two parts, with a total duration of 3 hours. The new show has cut scenes and merged some developments, but has also added scenes and details that have drastically changed the relationship between certain characters. Unfortunately, to date an official version of the revised script has not been published and for those who have not had the opportunity to see the performance we can enjoy this new script.

Thanks to the work of those who attended the show we have a detailed script of the new version in which the relationship between Scorpius and Albus has been made clearly romantic.

The credits for the work in English go to @stormythalamus and here you can find their PDF version. They have given permission to share their work but remember to always give credit, they have put a lot of time and effort into making it.

I instead finished translating the work into my language, Italian, yesterday and you can find it here and here. I'm also working on a layout of it with concept art and illustrations so I can print it out and bind it for personal use. I'll add that to this post as well when it's finished.

I don't know why Voldemort having children is so strange to some people. In fact, maybe he planned for immortality and no longer needed to continue his lineage, but maybe this was also an emergency button for him. On the other hand, maybe this was a reward from master to Bellatrix and maybe she asked Voldemort for a child. She wished that her beloved master would give her a child of his own blood in return for one of the things she did, such as killing Sirius Black. And if he saw his daughter, maybe he would have no feelings for her and would have left her. We don't know his true reaction And yes, Voldemort couldn't fall in love, but he wasn't a neutered or castrated man. Animals don't fall in love either. Sometimes people fall in love without having sex. (Stay away from people who equate the two)
