okay so my novel is called rebel princess

ive been writing this thing since i was 12 hehe its been YEARS since i started but i recently scrapped everything from my original draft and started over because there were plot holes and things had deviated from the original short story i made which is what made me want to write it in the first place

So the synopsis:

All her life, Tesla has been waiting for the day she gets to kill her mother. Ever since she was ten, she vowed to get revenge for herself, and all the kids her mother sacrificed in the name of a god. Now she’s 17, and the day has come to carry out her plan. Tesla knows the only way to kill her mother involves sacrificing herself, and she has come to terms with it. Her only regret is leaving all her friends behind. And her sister… Liliana. She’s the one helping Tesla, and the one that’ll have to see her die. But like everything else in Tesla’s life, even this doesn’t go her way. Everything goes awry, and now Tesla is left with a hurt Liliana and missing guildmates. Something more sinister is lurking in the dark, and it might be closer to Tesla than she originally thought…

That, along with this many artists cancelling shows for tonight, including some of the biggest names in the world, is suspicious.

Also, not all but most of these were cancelled because of fairly vague excuses which is what makes it look even worse.

Similar to Vespa & Javier, Ajax was not a naturally occurring shapeshifter but was instead genetically modified in a laboratory similar to Dr. Henry Wu's research in jurassic park. His venom was a particularly new topic scientists were researching at the time and had never injected into anyone before, & as a result it has some side effects.

Ajax's venom is a type called cytotoxic. This means that it can cause serious necrosis (aka dying tissues) as well as severe blistering of the skin. Ajax's body now has gotten used to it, but his arms are intensely scarred / blackened / his fingers he can't really feel anymore due to the traumatic induction of his transformation.

Spitting cobras actually spray their venom not from their throat, but from tiny holes in the base of their two fangs that can hit a range up to 8 ft. During his underground fighting, he used this to his advantage. While his move didn't kill anyone, there were a few who had a poor reaction, and one he blinded permanently.

These days personality wise he is a lot less aggressive than he used to be - having to literally win fights to save his life (he was leased out by the research facility to bring in more revenue) would pump up the adrenaline, causing his blistering to flare up again.

I did not think this is what we were going to have happen, but here we are & it's Disney's Hercules

Prompt

● Yorick is the son of the god Daemon & and his (regretted) one-time fling: human woman Rhea Royce. His divine blood sees him growing up as an outsider due to Just Kinda Not Being Right. So he tried his best to placate people & not let everyone see how effected he was by everything

● Daemon eventually realizes he has a kid with one of his human flings, takes umbrage with how his son is not being treated as the most special boy, & decides to take matters into his own hands by just fucking stealing the elixir of immortality & fucking off to the mortal plane to tell his son everything & give him the hookup with divinity

● On the one hand, Yorick is kinda jazzed to finally know what's going on, but on the other hand he's pissed that his dad is the sluttiest deity & also did not care what was going on till just now, on his 13th birthday while he is in the throws of both ostratization & demi-god puberty. Daemon spends the better part of an hour trying to calm Yorick down & convince him that "this elixir I brought you will fix everything," but Viserys, the king of the gods, makes his divine appearance before Yorick can drink it. The god brothers proceed to have a domestic in Rhea's living room about Daemon's theft. A compromise is eventually reached, & Yorick is tasked with a series of trials that will see him earning the elixir of immortality & all the powers that come with it. And really, all Yorick wants to do is take care of his mommy & to stop having the absolute worst go of adolescence, so he agrees!

● Queue Yorick going on a series of quests over the course of three years & becoming a hero. Everything is going great, he's gonna be earning that elixir or immortality soon! But then he falls in love with Fully Human BabyGworl Shireen because of her genuine kindness & sincerity & also because he thinks she's hot. So he just fucking derails his quest to impress her dad & win her hand in marriage. Unfortunately, this whole getting side-tracked for the hot girl thing has consequences, & she is kidnapped by a monster he was supposed to slay. So now he's racing against the clock to save her, & does so just in the nick of time! This completes his trials & impresses Shireen's dad, but when his dad shows up to be like "great, you fulfilled my brother's dumb requests & can finally start having stuff my kid deserves," Yorick just asks for more quests so that he can get Shireen in on this immortality thing too.

● Yorick proceeds to go do a second series of trials in the name of getting laid for the rest of eternity. He succeeds, obviously, & he & Shireen have a very wedding coded, super romantic dual-immortality-elixir-drinking moment. They then become minor gods who get invoked for a lot of household stuff & true love & adversity also they're fucking nasty for the rest of eternity

I mean, I'm going to add this a bit more into my fic when Royce finally actually gets back to Medford, so there will be some headcanons in there, but to me, he seems demi ace /wtf romantic. He shows zero interest in people generally, I grant you, but even with Gwen, it's not likes he's immediately love-struck and mad with desire.

In The Rose and the Thorn, does he go on a wild rampage to avenge her after not seeing her in a year? Yes, but I think he would do exactly the same for Hadrian in that scenario. He makes exceptions for both of them (again, fic stuff to come on this).

I can't really remember much about book 3 because I haven't reread it in a while, but scanning it, Royce obviously finds Nysa interesting and mysterious, and says she beautiful (because she looks kinda like Gwen and that's his marker) but to me it doesn't seem like attraction, more curiosity. And I know he does tell Nysa there is someone else when she flirts with him. (Love that both women who are attracted to Royce think he's in love with Hadrian, but that's not relevant here)

Winter's Daughter is where it really gets down into explicitly saying Royce is smitten with Gwen (those few chapters are so damned cute), and that's where we see Royce actually admiring Gwen, thinking she's pretty, getting into all that romantic stuff. He clearly doesn't understand the feeling - is confused and shocked when Hadrian asks if they've kissed yet, doesn't understand why he feels so strange around Gwen - and while part of that is just Royce being Royce, I think it's also because he's never experienced those kinds of attraction to someone before (wtf/demi)

And I don't think it's just a case of we just don't see it because of the writing. Hadrian is given multiple moments where he admires/is attracted to people - some of the Ladies from the House, dancers in Rochelle etc. He gets casually mentioned moments where he notices these things, but Royce never does.

Yes, Royce is obviously madly in love with Gwen, and they are meant to be together so it's common in a book for him to never have another relationship before or after that, Gwen doesn't either. But Royce has barely ever made an emotional connection in his life, so he's never experienced that attraction before.

What I'm trying to say is it's less 'Gwen is Royce's soul mate therefore she's the only person he's ever been attracted to' and more 'Royce has not had enough emotional connections to come across anyone else he feels attraction for' (though obviously he's entirely in love with Gwen and it's adorable)

So... this ended up as more of a rambling analysis than headcanons, apologies, but yeah, that's my thoughts, and I want to add more of this into The Box and other fics because i think it's fun
