entails both my personal pros and cons!! all my opinion, i just wanted to ramble a bit about it :-)

LAST SPOILER WARNING!! LITERALLY SPOILS LIKE MOST OF DEMO 4!! INCLUDING GRIEFER CALL CARD + NEW GRIEFER DIALOGUE!!

where do I even BEGIN??

the music is always been one of my favourite aspects about block tales, and the music in demo 4 was absolutely phenomenal. ESPECIALLY Ancient Tomb, Vermillion Village and Bizville Docks (my personal favourites)!! although, personally, I didn’t feel like The Ancients theme fit with the atmosphere the boss gave off with its appearance and dialogue. but the song was still incredible. go listen to the OST when you can, it’s amazing as always!! block tales music literally never disappoints

speaking of the Ancients, its?? their?? design is absolutely superb. at first I couldn’t stop staring at it, and then I COULDN’T stop staring at it because I kept DYING and needing to START OVER!! closest i got to raging over block tales. worse than the 3 fears in the pit and i mean that. i will NOT be doing demo 4 on hard mode im not mentally ready yet Give me 7 more years

Ok moving on Shivers I ADORRREEE FICTIONAL PIRATES!!! I HAVE PIRATE OCS!! I LOVE PIRATE CHARACTERS IN MEDIA!! I LOVE OTHERS PIRATE OCS!! so you can imagine how excited I was when they first showed up in THE block tales!!! i’m in love with the way they speak too, they’re how I strive to be!! i also hope that Calypso and Kyoko get reunited Let them be Happy Ok

Ok so ive established I Love Pirates. Fictional of course. So. You can ALSO imagine how absolutely distraught I was when I found all the pirates lying dead dude. my only complaint is I wish more was done with them. they would have made a great bunch for future demos…. but a man can only dream…. bursts into tears

and. i dont know how many people will share this opinion but i absolutely AODRE the great flocci?!?! I WISH HE HAD A BIGGER ROLE IN DEMO 4, BECAUSE HE’S SO CHARMING?! misterbeaverfever when he sees a fictional well-designed character that speaks in a recognisable/abnormal way

BLOCK TALES IS JUST SUCH A CHARMING GAME DUDE. it has so much heart and personality, and thats what ive always loved so much about it. all the characters are so wacky and distinguishable and unique— its so easy to just latch onto them and go ‘i Love this guy actually’

griefer headcanons (and other stuff)!! (demo 4 spoilers)

- the way i draw griefer is inspired by manticores

- despite barely having any memory of becoming the bubonic plant, he has awful nightmares of being trapped, and now has a weird relationship interacting with plants, despite really not knowing why he's experiencing the post-traumatic stress (his subconcious remembers all of it)

- he acts cool to distract from that

- he loves attention of any kind, as long as its not on why he loves attention so much

- he eats vinegar chips. claims people who dont like them are weak

- he would pick fights with anything just to be the little shit he is

- he throws the biggest parties for those he cares about. nobody knows where he gets the resources for them

- kyoko sees through griefer's persona

- along with attention, griefer loves to feel superior, as in his eyes that makes him feel worthy

- his dad turns a blind eye to his behavior because he believes it gives brad something other than the venomshank to think about. (he doesnt know.)

- hes too spoiled to say 'thank you' and takes many things for granted (post demo 4 hes slowly developing against that mindset)

It's so wild how far we've come. I had my title as "Where is Pikmin 4?" for the longest time and only changed it after it got announced! We're now less than a month away from its release and I'm so damn excited about it! I'm happy that the series is getting the hype that it deserves now.

I plan to change the title again as well once I get my hands on the game.

so...we agree that this is most likely a Canon Divergence from Pikmin 1, yes?

Olimar writes about the Pikmin and Creatures in his Voyage Logs as though he has never met them before, which wouldn't make sense if the 2nd and 3rd game had taken place

also, the whole 'fixing-the-S.S. Dolphin'

he's looking for the ship's parts, just like the 1st game, but, quite obviously, the MOST noticeable differences are: the location of the Interstellar Radio and Olimar's discovery of the new space dog, Moss

and his SOS signal reached the Rescue Corps after month?! if we're going by the same narrative from the first game, his life support must have failed already, assuming Olimar has already spent a few days in the planet, which raises more concerns

i do wonder why Nintendo would take this route?

i love the Demo so far, but there's something bothering me quite a bit...

and it's the whole deal with the "Leafy Individuals"

not even gonna try and sugarcoat it, that is most definitely Olimar, no doubt in my mind; his life support must have failed after the 30 days, he crashed and turned into Olimin/Pikmar- YOU CAN SEE THE S.S. DOLPHIN RIGHT BEHIND YOUR BASE HE IS DEAD

is he trying to "rescue" the Castaways in the best way he sees possible??? whenever you encounter him, the Castaway doesn't seem to be breathing until Moss places them underneath the Onion and they turn into another "Leafy Individual"... are they dead?? it would make more sense, no?? if, unfortunately some of the stranded people die on the planet, then it'd be fair to assume that Olimar knows that the only way to "save them" would be to give them another chance at life by becoming a 'Pikmin'

"those who do not embrace Dandori cannot survive in this planet, but if you grow the leaves you will thrive" THAT IS SUCH AN OLIMAR THING TO SAY

ever since the first game he's had these 'dreams' of being free and becoming closer to the Pikmin but never fully entertained those ideas due to his family (which...i mean yeah, fair enough, i'll leave that rant for another time)

i'm guessing they'll introduce a way to revert this state, essentially "curing" Castaways of the leaves, so will Olimar be "cured" too??

ahem...WHEN WILL I GET TO SEE LOUIE?!

so far, there's a dude who serves as a Treasure Hoard and another one as a Piklopedia, will my boy only contribute with his dishes? will he cause trouble for the Rescue Corps? is he up to mischief? oh, i do hope he is, i'd love for him to have even if just a bit of a spotlight

and the Koppai crew! oh how i miss them so dearly! i know that, if this is an alternate ending to Pikmin 1, then they wouldn't know about the Captain or Louie, but wouldn't it be nice to see them again? yes, yes, very much so!

Honestly I won’t lie it was definitely a pretty bad idea to go in blind and expect myself to write 8 weeks for the game in total. Not to mention I, in my head planned out at least 4 character routes-

It sucks though because I already have like some basic stuff done, I got some character designs in mind and a good percentage of story notes, character details, and lore details

I just haven’t gotten to writing anything (aside from like 13 sentences at minimum) because writers block is kicking me in the ass unfortunately T-T
