I see people that are tryna get into emo and scene fashion make posts ab like needing help finding clothes or like styling their hair n the liek so I’m here to help. Who am I? Nobody but im like scenemo and very happy to help. Im gonna make a resource masterlist, starting with this post
It’s important to note that if you have the hair, anything you wear will look emo. Emo teens would really just wear just some normal clothing and it fucked! Keep that in mind
How do I find emo/scene clothes?
🇺🇸🇬🇧Check resale sites like depop, ebay, mercari, poshmark (mercari is not available in the uk). You CANNOT build a wardrobe overnight. You just cant. Be patient and just keep checking, I promise you will find something. Heres some things I’ve personally bought or found on these sites and the price usd just for reference (without shipping)// Beetlejuice striped ht skinnies $16.49// We the kings shirt $5.50// All time low shirt $5.50//Red plaid ht skinnies $10.50// Famous star and stripe shirt $5-10// Secondhand serenade shirt $10// A lot of fellow scene and emo ppl resell on these sites!! (Trashmob has a depop for example, so does oliver sykes???)
2-Thrifting. Ik you’re probably tired of hearing it bc duh but… =) Try some local thrifts, big companies either suck, are expensive or both. I’d buy my skinnies from here. Reminder that they don’t have to be black!! You can style black, white, blue, any color of jean. Even styles like flair or bootcut jeans.
🇺🇸HT REPLAY. NOBODY TALKS AB THIS. Hot topic has a thredup, they sell preloved clothing and its constantly updated. Its very discounted. For example a shirt that was initially $25 usd would be sold for $11-9 usd. This is as far as ik only in the us??
Diy, obv. Look at those. Aren’t they cool looking? Not being able to afford band merch doesn’t make you any less of a fan than ppl with huge collections, remember that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🇺🇸🇬🇧Dont be afraid to check normal stores like target, tk maxx, and walmart, you’ll be surprised. Target has cute character jackets if you can fit kids sizes and walmart made that skeleton sweater vest they gotta have more up their sleeves.
🇺🇸Merchnow.com. They have HEAVENLY old band merch and posters. Like ptv, chiodos, sws, tdwp, coheed and cambria, before today, texas in july, even like icp. this might be a us only thing? If someone could check for me ilys
(Added on Nov 8 23)
🇬🇧Grindstore.com they’re like merchnow kinda, heavenly band merch
(Added April 29 24)
🇺🇸🇬🇧 Childrens clothes if you can fit into them a lot of childrens clothing are very good for a scene look
This is all I have for now, but if i come up with anything else I’ll definitely update this!!

FASHION AND FILM CROSS PATHS IN NANA
Tumblr media
Anime has always been a dominating factor in the fashion industry due to its influence on its audience and cult following. On-screen cinema has inspired an array of people to dress similar or spot on to famous characters such as Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf from Gossip girl. These outfits and characters also transpire into having a lasting effect in cinema i.e. the Academy Award nominated film The Devil Wears Prada. Because these shows and movies have such a large cult following due to their aesthetic and nostalgic attachments, individuals bond themselves to the cinematic art these on-screen displays portray. NANA is the story of Nana Komatsu and Nana Osaki. They first meet on a train to Tokyo and discover that they are the same age.
Tumblr media
Both Nana’s have different styles. Nana Komatsu (pictured left) goes by Hatchi and Nana Osaki (pictured right). Hatchi and Nana both have different aesthetics, Nana dresses with a punk rock whilst Hatchi dresses in very girly-esq outfits. They both have different aspirations; Hatchi moves to Tokyo to be with her boyfriend Shoji, and Nana moves to become a famous punk singer.
In NANA, Vivienne Westwood is referenced in almost every episode. You can see almost all of the characters wearing something by the designer, even if it is as small as a pair of earrings.
NANA has had a huge impact on fashion, especially through its resurrection on social media apps i.e. TikTok, Pinterest and Instagram. In summer 2020, because of TikTok, Vivienne Westwood’s pearl choker with her crystal orb logo gained massive popularity, being seen on celebrities and influencers alike. The necklace is detailed as a single strand with pearls and a Westwood orb falling in the middle of the necklace. There is also a three strand version of the necklace. Both these necklaces were featured in NANA. Now, because of its resurrection, it is seen as the It-Girl accessory of 2021 thanks to its popularity on TikTok.
NANA has truly inspired a lot of people, knowingly or not, to buy many of the exact pieces featured in the show. Because of its affluence and hype, some of these iconic pieces are reselling on the second hand market for astronomically high price points.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the boom of Westwood’s influence on a newer generation, this makes it somewhat harder to get some iconic pieces due to Nana’s popularity. Because of this, it has caused a lot of fakes to be created via Aliexpress, Dhgate, and eBay to be sold on various reselling apps i.e. Grailed, Heroine and Depop. As a result, it sometimes gets harder to identify the real and authentic piece especially if someone is buying into the brand because of NANA and its symbolic influence it has on the buyer or watcher. It takes away from the brand because it’s turning an iconic brand like Westwood into fast fashion because of the mass produced pieces. In no way is this Westwood’s fault because she supplied products that rose in popularity due to anime, social media and seeing people wearing these pieces. However, if Westwood was to lower her prices and start to mass produce her items, it would take away from the brand’s exclusivity and message. An example of this would be House Of Sunny where they rose to fame due to their infamous David Hockney inspired dress. House of Sunny based themselves upon sustainability and spaced out drops however when the dress started to get popular they started to mass produce items. This also affected the quality of their garments and their dress was now being replicated on AliExpress. Westwood’s jewelry is costume jewelry, so they’re not made out of pearls, diamonds or precious metals. It’s up to you if you want to spend £120 on a MINI BAS RELIEF CHOKER via the official Vivienne Westwood site.
Westwood’s influence on fashion has inspired a generation of young creatives. However, her influence on NANA truly changed the way people correlate animated TV shows into real life outfit and lifestyle inspiration.

Dylan's NY apartment really seems like the perfect place for her to take some selfies, pictures in clothes that she wants to sell on her depop, to do some self promo, ....
I mean why use your own when your famous boyfriend's apartment is way better.

David Cameron is sat in a large leather reclining armchair, thinking about a time, oh, years ago, many years ago, on a bridge over the Thames, long before any of them were famous, the light in Rebekah Wade’s hair like an autumn sunrise. Across from him, in an identical armchair, is a gigantic Boofle dog whose expression - avuncular, inscrutable, wry, reminds David Cameron of Parkinson, and he often conducts little chats with the dog as though he were that same wise and gentle interviewer, and the show were still going on, and the whole nation was tuned in to watch him, to watch David Cameron flit between anecdote and opinion, between self-deprecation and clear-eyed scrutiny of the world situation with the manner of a gazelle who, if such a thing as gazelle olympics ever existed, would certainly be a podium contender. But that’s the thing with the past, isn’t it, that’s how the past is. You can’t get back there. Nobody would watch a clear twat like Parkinson if such a show was ever made these days, they’d be too busy watching TikToks of sandwiches being made or whatever it is, David Cameron thinks, eyes locked on the Boofle dog, whatever on earth it is that anybody is doing these days. These days he has to give the old chap an extremely stern speaking to before he’ll deign to piss, however desperate the situation appeared to be on the way to the bathroom. NOT that we need to spend too much time chatting about that, David Cameron thinks, we certainly don’t need to keep asking me what I was doing in there, nor using the term ‘stentorian’ in relation to the tone of voice apparently clearly audible through the bathroom door, nor inquire to whom or to what I was talking to, and certainly not to say that it was reminiscent to the way I perpetually send steaks back in restaurants, neither is my sense of what ‘medium rare’ means, wackadoo, eccentric or bananas, David Cameron thinks.
These days it’s hard to get anything going, you know? Everyone on the fucking street is looking at something on their phone, weaving all over the place, stopping and starting. And why do they all wear these disgusting puffer jackets? A cloud passes over the low sun and the light in the room, David Cameron’s rumpus room, off limits to the wife and kids except on Easter Sunday where he hides eggs in there for them to find, and the brief moment of shade makes the Boofle dog’s expression appear to register mirth at David Cameron’s whole bit (American for joke) about phones and puffer jackets. Yes, that went over very well. The thing about the puffer, he thinks, warming to his subject, is that any type of guy wears them, young or old, big or small. Back in the day, you wouldn’t catch old David Cameron in the same old Harrington and Crombie as his father and his father’s buddies. Such a thing was unthinkable! Naturally he sported a trenchcoat in deep vermillion, sported it up and down winter streets, whispering the words to ‘Every Day is Like Sunday’ and looking to all the world like Mozza if he tucked into a pork chop once in a while, all of which to his father’s chagrin, not to mention his mother’s, who sometimes looked at him as one might look at a big group who’ve just sat at the next table to you in the pub, with dogs and kids among them, and started reading the menus out to each other. But these days a dad and his kid could swap their puffers with each other and nobody would give a single solitary scooby about it.
But you can’t go back. Something stirs in David Cameron; yes, we’re talking loins here, his old loins, the loins of a man who could put the t-shirt he got for being there and doing that up on Depop as a vintage piece and get about forty odd quid for it. The leather creaks. Though he knows he’ll be in there a good half hour before anything happens, the bathroom and the toilet in it, have once again cut another clutch interview performance tragically short. And when it comes down to it, isn’t the Boofle dog nothing like Parkinson at all? What was it Shakespeare said, quintessence of dust… that’s all the ol Boofler is full of, so what’s even the point in saving the best anecdotes for him? The best chat?
And didn’t he, when the moment was there - her skin as white and smooth as Barbara Hepworth, hair broad and flaming, the water churning beneath them, the light flaking off it, the sky cloudless - instead of doing what he wanted, ached to do, made some crack, and she laughed but he hand slipped out of his? David Cameron limps towards his bathroom. You are Mozza, he thinks. You’re Mozza.

the bleed out cassette looks so good omg, what other albums do they have on cassette?
as of right now you can purchase bleed out, dark in here, getting into knives, and a 20th anniversary version of all hail west texas available through the official tmg merch page! in the us, anyway. those same albums are also available to buy through merge records' page. i own gik and ahwt cassettes as well so if you look through my tags for those albums you can see pics.
historically, the mountain goats have been a very cassette-oriented band. if you look through their discogs catalogue page, you can see at a glance what albums have only been released on cassette.
Tumblr media
[image id: the classic discogs table, listing the mountain goats' albums Taboo VI: The Homecoming, The Hound Chronicles, Transmissions to Horace, Hot Garden Stomp, and Zopilote Machine. Taboo VI: The Homecoming, The Hound Chronicles, Transmissions to Horace, and Hot Garden Stomp have parentheses off to the right side of their names that say (Cass, Album). The "Cass" of each of these is circled in red. Zopilote Machine has a white rectangle next to it that says "3 versions". An arrow with the words "click to see" is written in red next to that.]
the cassete-only albums are mostly the albums from the 90s, stuff from tmg's mostly and totally independent eras. Some of their most famous albums have actually never been released officially on cassette, despite being recording on the panasonic. I would die for a 25th anniversary cassette release of the coroner's gambit.
they also release some special material on cassettes occasionally, like songs for pierre chuvin or all survivor's pack. songs for pierre chuvin did eventually get a cd release but irrc it was about a year after the fact?
the exception here would be hot garden stomp and the hound chronicles, which were released together on cd in 2015. they're not listened under their individual album listing on discogs because that cd release is not *technically* the same album.
other than the albums that you can buy from their merch store right now, the best places to find their cassettes are ebay and depop, or if you have any local thrift stores, those are good too. but they can be pretty hard to come across. songs for pierre chuvin cassettes are common-ish on ebay but tend to be very very expensive.
tldr: tmg's three most recent studio releases and a special version of ahwt are avaliable to purchase through official means atm. other releases have been made and thrift stores are the best place to find them in my experience. discogs is my go-to to search for what has been released in what formats, and you can tell by going to the tmg catalogue page and clicking on the album title you're interested in.
i could go on, but those are my basic thoughts. hope this answers your question!

Gotham's a bit dangerous for a kid, you know?
Oh, I'm very aware of that. I don't like the idea of having Chi in this city either.
But there's not really much place that's safer. Yes, there's a lot of crime in Gotham, and there's supervillains too. But at least Gotham has superheroes to defend it. The local superheroes including the most famous one Batman - and there's the ones next door in NJ which includes Titans.
You know what happens to a city or town that doesn't have a superhero when a supervillain strikes? They get "depop"'d. Yes, supervillainry is so bad that this world specifically has a term where a place loses more than 10% of its residents due to supervillainry. And it often is a lot more than 10%.
At least in Gotham, the vigilantes are actively trying to stay on top of the villain problem. I also have the local gang Spring Chant as back-up here, even if Crow disdains my lifestyle. There's at least one member in the Inn at all times. Inn itself has a bunker area too just in case.

I’ve always kinda shipped these two, so when moments like this happen it always makes me happy. I have such a cool story idea for when they’re older, let’s hope I keep up with Bug Squad long enough this time to see it through...
So far, HSY is just a giant Depop add which sucks but isn’t suprising. I think if more was put into the actual high school experience, this could have been an actual solid pack based from the elements that were introduced like school clubs, events, and school customization. Like, for this to be the generation of the sims where they said they wanted to separate ideas so they can go further into depth with them, they really go about it in a weird way. They could just done a proper fashion pack, but instead we get a stylist career as a free update, but styling booth and chair with get famous, fashion photgraphy with a stuff pack, and fashion influencer part time career and thrifting gameplay with high school years, don’t even get me started on the 3-4 different types of social media when social bunny could’ve been the perfect oppurtunity to consolidate them all into one thing...I know for a fact this depop sponsership impacted a lot of the short cuts with the actual high school elements with high school years. minirant over.
...Anywho, I know i’d probably have more fun if I had to focus on one household, but with six it’s just a lot to worry about, but I think i’ve come up with a way to tell the story I want, get the screenies I need, and in the best way possible, some cheating is needed but it shouldn’t take away from any organic progession at all.

I am currently contemplating going to the yard sale- on one hand, I live like 40ish minutes away so it’s a quick drive and I might find something really cool; on the other hand, I don’t have anyone to go with and I’m not sure if I can afford anything. I’m also not sure if it’s ok to go as a fan (if that makes sense?) like I’m not a super fan or a creep and if I were to go it truly would just be to find something cool but I worry that my appearance as a 22 yr old girl would come across as psycho stalker fan. Any advice? (I might just be overthinking)
I say you should go! As a fellow 20 something year old resident of Los Angeles, I’m not too far off from you in age and distance so I can relate to a lot of this, especially the social anxiety and a tendency to overthink things lol. So you came to the right place! I’m going to break down all the reasons why I think you should go. Hopefully I’ll dissuaded some of your fears and won’t add to them!
I totally get why you might feel weird about going, especially as a fan, but considering they gave the address out to everyone, when they said all are welcome I think they really do mean it! Katya may cosplay as a communist but ultimately at the end of the day she just wants your money too lol. I think that’s why she and Andrew opened this up to the general public with the full knowledge that fans can and will come. They’re trying to make a buck!
I know in the past Katya has done this type of thing with Willam and from what I can recall, a lot of fans showed up and they were prepared for that so you’ll probably be in similar company! You’re also approaching this more as a consumer/buyer than as a fan which is kind of the most normal of interaction to have? Especially when going alone. Just think of it as shopping! Also it’s super close to that 8000 Sunset Strip shopping plaza right around the corner so I’m sure they’re going to be attracting bystanders as well, not just fans so there will be normal amount of “regular” people that will be there. I think it will be half their artsy porn friends and half fans aka us regular folks. Ultimately I think at the end of the day it doesn’t matter much to them, they’re happy to have everyone and again, they just want your coin lol.
As far as cost goes, I think things will be priced from all other the place too so don’t let that deter you. I know Katya really bumps the price up for items on her depop because she can as a famous person selling sweat soaked personal belongings, but I get the sense that this is for items big and small that can’t be easily sold online. It’s a moving/everything must go type of deal. So there will be furniture like bed frames that I’m sure are costly but I bet there will be less expensive knickknacks as well like face masks that are more affordable. Also Katya is very thrifty herself so while she may over charge in some areas, I don’t think everything will be entirely unreasonable. I remember from the drag sale with Willam, they sold stuff in every price range. Some fans said that while they may not have been able to afford the more expensive clothing items, there were plenty of little things like accessories that were cheaper so they felt they were still able to purchase something special.
Also, I totally relate to the social anxiety of going to something alone! I don’t know if that’s a big hang up for you in this instance but I will say as time has gone on, I’ve felt more comfortable doing things solo (and sometimes even prefer it!). Have you ever gone to something with a friend who wasn’t as into it as you and it almost ruined the experience because they didn’t share the same level of enthusiasm? Maybe that’s just me lol. I will say every time I’ve gone to something on my own that I really wanted to attend, I’ve always ended up enjoying it. I never regretted not going in those situations, you know?
And lastly, I will say the fact that you care enough to not push boundaries and appear “stalkerish” means you have more social tact than most and the other fans that will undoubtedly show up and definitely act that way. Idk how much fan interaction Katya is planning on doing, but again at the Willam thing she was down to take pics and chat. She’s pretty amenable to that stuff because she likes meeting people. This might be all business though so who knows. But if you’re not expecting anything on that level then you’re already approaching it in a more respectful manner and can’t really disappoint or be disappointed in that department!
If it seems like I’ve really thought this through it’s because I definitely have! If I didn’t have another commitment that I can’t really get out of this Sunday, I would seriously consider going myself. Since we’re both Angelenos, if you feel comfortable and ever want to come off anon and chat about it some more, I’d be happy to talk! I also understand maintaining your privacy, especially online. But if there’s ever future LA related Katya events that you’re considering going to and wondering if anyone else is, you can bet that I probably am as well! I will admit part of me is rooting for you to go to this so that we have someone on the inside to let us know how it went and report back lol. Hopefully if you do decide to go, you buy something cool or at the very least have a fun shopping experience. Anyways, good luck either way!

Important Business Updates:
Today I want to talk about important store & company updates.
First of all, we haven't sold since the following dates: eBay: 3/17/2024 Mercari: 3/2/2024 Poshmark: 2/24/2024 Depop: 2/27/2022 Please buy from our stores TODAY!
Second thing I want to mention is WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE FOLLOW US ON POSHMARK! STOP FOLLOWING OUR POSHMARK STORE! We're trying to sell there, NOT BECOME A FAMOUS COMPANY!
Third update is a big one: Our sharing policy has changed. Because Facebook, Pinterest & Twitter/X keep blocking us, we'll share less often on those social Networks. We will likely share on Truth Social instead.
Forth update is an even bigger deal: We are planning to close our Depop store, once all products posted there sell. We also are planning to close our Mercari store in 2025.
Thank you for shopping at Moore Sound. Thank you for viewing. Check out my other products. ☺
Check out my other channels, social media & buy from my stores: https://linktr.ee/gdmdlm25

Here is the famous Riva grocery store.
Originally this was supposed to be an alcohol shop but then changed to a grocery store because I wanted more custom from Barnes.
That’s why you can see a wine bottle in the logo.
But the best thing about it is the parcel desk at the back that does Hermes courier deliveries.
You can print off shipping labels for your internet stores like Depop and EBay.

What influences Trends
There are many ways in which trends can influence the public, They can grow from word of mouth. but are generally kicked off via a catalyst, this can be things such as a social change, a movie, or even an individual, it can vary from Urban streetwear or even the catwalk.
Global issues can majorly affect and Influence trends, For example, the Great Recession in 2008 had a major impact on fashion: during the mid-2000s fashion was very loud and flashy, However during the recession fashion had become a lot more ” quiet”  and simplified. Are more recent example would be COVID-19,  and the impact it had on consumers post-pandemic  financially, this has made people more aware of what they have in their wardrobe, and in turn, we have seen an increase in second-hand clothing sales, such as Depop, which saw a 163% increase in users from 2020 into 2021 and a 300% increase of sales
Tumblr media
Subcultures are also a major influence in trends, For example, the teddy boys which was a subculture that emerged in the 1950s in London where young men would dress in taper trousers long jackets, and fancy waistcoats was the first young generation to create its own style and make it acceptable to dress up, this subculture was usually represented by working-class men who had experienced defects of WW2. The Teddy Boys look has still stuck around and influences fashion to this day as major fashion brands take influence from the subculture and implement it into their own designs e.g Celine AW19
Tumblr media
There are a few theories that might explain how subcultures influence trends such as trickle-across Theory, Bubble-up Theory, and Trickle-down Theory.
Trickle-across Theory suggests that trends emerge because of what is accessible to all levels in the market, e.g. Suits, Ripped Jeans, and Kitten heels.
Bubble-up Theory suggests that street culture and consumerism inspire designers and trend predictors at the top of the market e.g the rise of streetwear in high fashion
And Trickle-down Theory suggests people with a large following, fame, and power that are fortunate to explore all types of Styles are seen wearing certain Styles and are then adopted by lower social classes that want to emulate the look that they had seen on their icon e.g  Kim Kardashian wears a dress,  therefore fast fashion brands create similar dresses for cheap for consumers to buy.
Key figures that also influence fashion can be people such as stylists, editors, designers, bloggers, social media stars, celebrities, and even models as they hold a large amount of power in what they/ are the people were and once seen by the public they become influenced and want to imitate.
Celebrity figures are a major factor when it comes to trend influence which is mainly how trickle-down Theory is described: Another example for this can be Audrey Hepburn style in the 1960s, who was already a major celebrity of the time, in the movie: Breakfast at Tiffany's  where she is seen wearing a little black dress, and thus influence the public into adopting the LBD, which is how it had become an iconic influence in fashion, even today
Tumblr media
A more recent example of trend influence is social media. Because of the rise of the internet and social media and its easy accessibility, it has given people the freedom to express themselves more easily thus allowing people to be exposed to more trends, and no longer need to be a celebrity or famous to influence.
