DAY 5973
Jalsa, Mumbai June 25/26, 2024 Tue/Wed 2:07 AM
Birthday - EF - Anamika Gupta .. 🙏🌹
Ef Özen Eren Wednesday, 26 June .. and all ur prayers and wishes for this special day for the Ef ..
the Agenda .. an act of predetermined thought and conveyance .. what shall bring attention recognition be the intent .. any express that can remotely be given the spin, and mastered is the guile and expertise of such ..
it is lamentable , ignominious to witness the impotency of content .. to somehow in any which manner , to be able to draw attention in storied form, just so it can be put up and seen or read , in favourable condition to them that devise it ..
devise .. for the right is not needed to be devised ..
pity ..
never ever underestimate the generation that follows , or is about to follow .. they are aware and alive to every situation and knowledged to hold their own in debate or discussion ..
we are enriched by the circumstance that often fall upon us .. and then we find a way .. even when there be none ..
"In today's digital age, the ubiquitous nature of content has paradoxically led to a dilution of its potency. With the democratization of content creation, anyone with an internet connection can produce and distribute information, leading to an oversaturation of the digital landscape. This phenomenon has profound implications, rendering content less impactful and more ephemeral.
First, the sheer volume of content available online has created a paradox of choice. Every minute, hundreds of hours of video are uploaded to platforms like YouTube, thousands of blog posts are published, and millions of social media updates are posted. This relentless flow of information makes it difficult for any single piece of content to stand out. The audience, overwhelmed by options, often resorts to skimming or entirely ignoring vast amounts of content, diminishing its overall impact.
Moreover, the quality of content has become highly variable. While the ease of content creation has empowered many voices, it has also led to an influx of low-quality, poorly researched, and sometimes misleading or false information. This glut of mediocre content competes with high-quality, well-researched pieces, making it challenging for audiences to discern value and trustworthiness. As a result, even content of genuine worth can struggle to achieve the recognition and engagement it deserves.
Another critical factor contributing to the impotency of content is the algorithm-driven nature of content distribution. Social media platforms and search engines prioritize content based on engagement metrics such as likes, shares, and comments rather than the inherent quality or informational value. This prioritization often leads to the virality of sensational, clickbait content at the expense of substantive, insightful work. Consequently, the attention economy favors superficial engagement over deep, meaningful interactions with content.
Additionally, the fast-paced consumption habits of modern audiences further erode the potency of content. The average attention span has dwindled in the face of constant digital distractions. People increasingly consume content in bite-sized formats, such as tweets or short videos, which limits their exposure to in-depth analysis or comprehensive narratives. This shift towards brevity undermines the ability of content to foster nuanced understanding or sustained engagement.
The commercialization of content also plays a significant role in its diminishing impact. Content marketing has become a dominant strategy for businesses, leading to a proliferation of branded content. While this can provide value, it also contributes to the noise and can sometimes prioritize promotional messages over genuine, informative content. The blending of editorial and advertising content can lead to skepticism and diminished trust among audiences, further reducing the impact of the content they encounter.
Lastly, the fleeting nature of digital content means that it often has a very short lifespan. Unlike traditional media, which could have a lasting presence, digital content is quickly buried under the avalanche of new information. This ephemeral existence means that even impactful content can be forgotten rapidly as attention shifts to the next trending topic.
In conclusion, the impotency of content in today's times is a multifaceted issue stemming from the overwhelming volume of information, variable quality, algorithm-driven distribution, changing consumption habits, commercialization, and the ephemeral nature of digital content. To reclaim the potency of content, creators and platforms must prioritize quality, foster trust, and find ways to engage audiences meaningfully and sustainably amidst the cacophony of the digital age."
Love and more ..

Nagi Hachinoya Novel
Essence of a Bouquet
Track 01 - Secret Energy that can attract Happiness
Tumblr media
Please note that the novel contains some major spoilers in regards to Nagi's past that is revealed in L4mps main story before you read!
The dialogues do not actually state who is speaking, but I noted it anyways to make it easier to understand.
Tumblr media
"Now, let us dive deep into the sea of memories…"
As if guided by the voice I hear from the podium, I close my eyes, and dive deep into the depths of my memories.
The earliest memory I have is that of my mother, the two of us having fun at a park.
The fresh and vibrant four-leaf clover.
The happy times, immediately followed by our separation at the laundromat.
The moment I learned that the scent of partings was the smell of fresh laundry.
'……'
I open my eyes.
'Why did you have to leave me behind…'
'I want to go back to that day, a day that should have been filled with happiness.'
In the corner of a special venue in mahorova, I look around and see the avatars all around me were in tears. I had already come to terms with what happened with my mother, so I didn't join them in their tears. But I could still understand their feelings very well.
If it were truly possible for me to return to that day, I would be willing to make any sacrifice. That's what it means to be 'sad'.
This was the orientation for beginners who want to join the "Society of Secret Energy to Attract Happiness". The gathering had around 30 members, and since everyone was in their anonymous avatars, there was no way to tell anyone's age nor gender.
The person talking at the podium was known as the Flower Princess, Master Hideko. She was the one responsible for leading this gathering. She had the avatar of an old woman in her sixties… but I had a feeling that's how she looks in real life as well.
Master Hideko looked around as everyone was crying, and with a solemn yet gentle expression on her face, she started speaking.
Hideko "Please, dry your tears. I am certain that you will all be able to return to those happy days once again. "Good fortune" is simply an energy that attracts happiness based on the principle of attunement wave function, in other words if you can access your "Secret Energy", you can-"
She was using a lot of technical terms, but it was very informative. I'm glad I attended.
After joining HAMA Tours, although I was late to the party, I started browsing videos on dazzle. Strangely enough, after a bit of searching, I found that my feed was full of videos that were related to luck.
One day, I asked Buchi-san about it while I was in the living room with him.
Nagi "Seeing all these videos on the topic of luck, I wonder if it's all the rage these days…"
He responded with-
Daniel "That's just the target algorithm doing it's job."
Nagi "Algo-huh?"
Daniel "I mean, it's because you keep watching those kinds of videos all the time- ah forget it. It's too much of a pain to explain."
Nagi "So what does it mean?"
Daniel "Yeah it's all the rage, but only in your phone."
-Is what he said.
I thought it was popular because it was effective, so I'd immediately applied to join the gathering.
I myself had a predisposition that made me attract bad luck proportional to the happiness that I receive. But rather than simply wanting to be happy for the sake of being happy, I wanted to be able to spread happiness through my flowers, which meant I had to be happy first.
Hideko "Say it together now, Secret Energy!!"
Master Hideko's voice grew louder. As if everyone was pulled by an invisible force, they all stood up together. I got up in a hurry as well.
"Secret Energy!"
"Secret Energy!!"
Before I knew it, everyone was chanting "Secret Energy" over and over while hugging the person next to them.
I see, this is the power of "Secret Energy".
Everyone was hugging the person next to them as if it was the most natural thing in the world to do.
In which case, the person next to me…
Black cat avatar "Secret Energy!"
When I looked over, a person with a black cat avatar was already waiting with their arms wide open.
Nagi "Secret Energy!"
That's why I returned the hug as well.
I don't think I've ever hugged anyone before, but now that I have, I could feel my heart being filled even in this virtual space.
I don't even know this person, and even if it's just through virtual avatars, this is not something that I'd experience normally. Is this one of the secrets to happiness?
As a matter of fact, the avatar in front of me seemed quite happy. There was something about it that made you feel a connection, beyond age, gender or even words.
Once again, Master Hideko's voice full of love washed over us.
Hideko "The next gathering will be for the intermediate level, so make sure you all do your assignments before you attend!"
Nagi "Phew… that was quite the passionate session."
I got a glimpse into ways of increasing happiness from a perspective that's different from mine. As I thought, it was good thing that I participated today.
Just as I was about to log out, I felt a tap on my shoulder-
Black cat avatar "Hello again! I just wanted to say, it was a really fulfilling time despite being a beginner's session."
It was the person with the black cat avatar.
Nagi "I agree. I'm looking forward to the next session."
Black cat avatar "Right!"
Since I felt like I shared in some happiness with this person, I couldn't help talk with them at that moment.
Apparently, he was a 35 year old male. Although I was one generation younger than him, he didn't mind at all and was very frank, all smiles.
Black cat avatar "I'm glad I got to meet someone I can get along with! Feel free to talk to me the next time you see me!"
Nagi "Yes, I will."

SEO for YouTube: How to Optimize Your Videos for Search
Meet Paul. Paul is a budding YouTuber with a passion for tech reviews and tutorials. He’s been creating content for a while, but his channel isn’t growing as quickly as he’d hoped. Paul’s videos are high-quality, informative, and engaging, yet they’re not reaching a wide audience. The key problem? His videos are not optimized for YouTube’s search algorithm. This is where SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, comes into play.
Understanding YouTube SEO
SEO for YouTube involves optimizing your videos so they rank higher in search results. Higher ranking videos get more views, which can lead to more subscribers and overall channel growth. Here’s how Paul can optimize his videos for YouTube search:
Keyword Research
Paul’s first step is to find the right keywords. Keywords are the terms and phrases that users type into the search bar when looking for videos. Paul uses tools like Google Trends, TubeBuddy, and VidIQ to identify popular keywords related to his content. For instance, if Paul’s video is about the latest iPhone review, he might discover that “iPhone 14 review,” “iPhone 14 unboxing,” and “iPhone 14 vs Samsung Galaxy S22” are popular search terms.
Optimizing Video Titles
Once Paul has his keywords, he needs to incorporate them into his video titles. A good title is clear, concise, and includes the main keyword. For example, instead of titling his video “My Thoughts on the New iPhone,” Paul titles it “iPhone 14 Review: In-Depth Look at Apple’s Latest Smartphone.” This title is more likely to match what users are searching for.
Creating Engaging Thumbnails
Thumbnails are the first thing viewers see. An eye-catching thumbnail can significantly increase click-through rates. Paul creates custom thumbnails that are visually appealing and relevant to the video content. He includes the video title or key phrases in the thumbnail to attract viewers’ attention.
Writing Detailed Descriptions
The video description is another crucial SEO element. Paul writes detailed descriptions for his videos, incorporating his main keyword and related terms naturally. He includes a brief summary of the video, timestamps for different sections, and links to his social media, website, and other relevant videos. This not only helps with SEO but also provides a better viewer experience.
Using Tags Effectively
Tags help YouTube understand the content of a video. Paul uses a mix of broad and specific tags, including his main keyword and variations of it. For his iPhone review video, he might use tags like “iPhone 14,” “iPhone review,” “Apple smartphone review,” and “tech reviews 2023.”
Engaging with Viewers
Engagement metrics like likes, comments, and watch time also influence search rankings. Paul makes an effort to engage with his audience by asking questions in his videos, responding to comments, and encouraging viewers to like and share his videos. The more engagement his videos get, the higher they are likely to rank.
Promoting Videos on Social Media
Paul doesn’t rely solely on YouTube’s search algorithm to drive traffic. He promotes his videos on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. By sharing his videos with a broader audience, he increases the chances of getting more views and engagement.
Analyzing and Adjusting
Finally, Paul regularly reviews his analytics to understand what’s working and what’s not. He looks at metrics like watch time, click-through rates, and viewer retention. Based on this data, Paul adjusts his SEO strategy and content approach to continually improve his channel’s performance.
Conclusion
Through consistent effort and strategic optimization, Paul starts to see his videos rank higher in YouTube search results. His channel grows steadily, attracting more viewers and subscribers. By following these SEO practices, Paul not only improves his search rankings but also enhances the overall quality and reach of his content.
For any YouTuber looking to grow their channel, understanding and implementing YouTube SEO is crucial. Just like Paul, you too can optimize your videos and achieve greater success on the platform.

Hi, just wanted to say I think you might have repeated some shorts recently, could be wrong do. Anyways, appreciate that you actually voice your things.
Yeah you're not imagining things, I've redone some posts. Also since I saw a few people asking about this as I was looking through my inbox, I'll give an in-depth explanation for the reasons if anyone is wondering why. 1. As I'm sure people have noticed, I've gotten "famous" enough to have people that will just reupload my videos, or copy my voice with AI. So you might have seen impostors posting those kinds of things instead of me, but I have also been rerecording posts that I come across again with my avatar so people know which is the original 2. I've improved a lot as time has gone on, so the newer versions are different and better anyway. Think of it like releasing a GOTY edition with all the DLC lol 3. A lot of my older videos have super generic or repeated titles, so you can't really find specific videos from my catalogue if you wanted to search for them 4. For shorts especially, a lot of videos just get lost in the algorithm after a certain point, so a lot of people are still seeing me voicing the post for the first time 5. Adding on to that, I've had a lot of videos that have been fucked by the algorithm and not gotten a fair shot, due to things like suppression from YouTube not liking certain words/topics, or just general algorithm dogshittery. I will say there is natural variance in how certain videos perform, but in this case it was incredibly obvious on my end when this was happening to certain videos previously 6. I'll also sometimes do posts again if I see them with different reblog chains and the like 7. I've been doing this for a while and done so many at this point, sometimes they do just blur together or I've forgotten that I've covered them already

Bio? Something like that.
How did I start modding? Literally no one has asked this, but here's my story, don't worry it's not long... I guess that depends on what your definition of “long” is, haha! Hang on, here we go.
On a random day in January, 2024, a few days before my birthday, I might add... I woke up to stars in my right eye. A few days later, I was told I had a very rare injury and it would never heal. Those are not words an artist/gamer wants to hear! Long story short, I am now legally blind in my right eye. If you think, oh that's not a huge deal, you can still see. Humor me, get a cheap pirate eyepatch, put that on, then pour yourself a cup of coffee. Not as easy as you thought, right? Depth perception. It’s a thing. Anyway, on with the story. Suffice it to say, I was depressed. Majorly. Then, through some random conversation somewhere, I found Stardew Valley.
Perfect! 2D animation, cute pixel art, story that's not sugar-coated anime, I love it! Got to year 3, TBH I've never played past year 3 because ADHD, and realized the dialogue was quite lacking. Then I discovered mods. What the-, it's a freakin' goldmine! Downloaded a lot of things, mostly dialogue, and tossed half of them. While playing through a Sebastian run, I saw it. Oh. My. God. It's a coding error glaring at me in my dialogue box. This is NOT acceptable. I tried to ignore it, but then it happened again. Okay, time for some investigation. I opened the folder and found... json files. Interesting, I wasn't entirely clueless since I do know HTML code from back when the internet was a baby, Facebook had no ads, and dinosaurs roamed the earth. Okay, okay, the internet was more like a spoiled toddler. Yes, I'm old. Shut up. But I digress. It didn't take long to discover the misplaced punctuation and go on my merry reality-avoiding way. Until I got bored again.
I looked for more Seb mods, but there were like seven. Three were yandere, not my jam, and only 2 were updated for 1.6 and were dialogue-only. Solution? Make my own mod for myself. I spent six weeks downloading mods, learning code, Googling to very little effect, writing dialogue, learning how to make an event, discovering I knew nothing, and on and on. The perfect distraction from the whole eye thing. I finished a decent draft, loaded it up, and praise Yoba, it worked! And on we play. At some point, I saw a comment complaining about the lack of Sebastian dialogue mods. Huh, yep, they're right. Too bad. Oh. Well, I guess I could load this thing I made, it's really just my own internal story monologue while playing the game, I'm NOT a writer, and most people probably won't get it. But I did spend a lot of time on this, and maybe someone out there will like it. Heck, no skin off my nose since it's free. So I took a deep breath, made peace with my inner demons, and threw it out into the void of Nexus, expecting it to be swallowed up and ignored. That... didn't happen.
In the first few hours, several people downloaded it. Huh, Nexus must have a decent search algorithm. That was literally all I thought about it. The next day, 300 downloads. And comments! Mostly positive with the exception of one wild demand I subsequently ignored. At one week, it had 3,000 unique downloads. I was floored, 3,000 weirdos downloaded my mod. Add to that, people seemed to actually like it! I've never gotten so much positive feedback for anything in my life. Seriously. Apparently, my oddball internal monologue, thanks ADHD, is quite entertaining. Heck, might as well make another one... and here we are. Yes, I've gotten negative comments and unreasonable demands, but I do my best to ignore them and practice staying positive. Trolls be damned! It's a lot harder to do that for yourself than for other people, turns out.
So, bottom line, found something interesting? Try it! Does it make you happy? Keep doing it! Even if it's only for yourself, do the thing and let it make you smile. Share it with the world if you're so inclined. Get out there and kick ass!!

Kashmir Hill’s “Your Face Belongs to Us”
Tumblr media
This Friday (September 22), I'm (virtually) presenting at the DIG Festival in Modena, Italy. That night, I'll be in person at LA's Book Soup for the launch of Justin C Key's "The World Wasn’t Ready for You." On September 27, I'll be at Chevalier's Books in Los Angeles with Brian Merchant for a joint launch for my new book The Internet Con and his new book, Blood in the Machine.
Tumblr media
Your Face Belongs To Us is Kashmir Hill's new tell-all history of Clearview AI, the creepy facial recognition company whose origins are mired in far-right politics, off-the-books police misconduct, sales to authoritarian states and sleazy one-percenter one-upmanship:
https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/691288/your-face-belongs-to-us-by-kashmir-hill/
Hill is a fitting chronicler here. Clearview first rose to prominence – or, rather, notoriety – with the publication of her 2020 expose on the company, which had scraped more than a billion facial images from the web, and then started secretly marketing a search engine for faces to cops, spooks, private security firms, and, eventually, repressive governments:
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/18/technology/clearview-privacy-facial-recognition.html
Hill's original blockbuster expose was followed by an in-depth magazine feature and then a string more articles, which revealed the company's origins in white nationalist movements, and the mercurial jourey of its founder, Hoan Ton-That:
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/03/18/magazine/facial-recognition-clearview-ai.html
The story of Clearview's technology is an interesting one, a story about the machine learning gold-rush where modestly talented technologists who could lay hands on sufficient data could throw it together with off-the-shelf algorithms and do things that had previously been considered impossible. While Clearview has plenty of competitors today, as recently as a couple of years ago, it played like a magic trick.
That's where the more interesting story of Clearview's founding comes in. Hill is a meticulous researcher and had the benefit of a disaffected – and excommunicated – Clearview co-founder, who provided her with masses of internal communications. She also benefited from the court documents from the flurry of lawsuits that Clearview prompted.
What emerges from these primary sources – including multiple interviews with Ton-That – is a story about a move-fast-and-break-things company at the tail end of the forgiveness-not-permission era of technological development. Clearview's founders are violating laws and norms, they're short on cash, and they're racing across the river on the backs of alligators, hoping to reach the riches on the opposite bank without losing a leg.
A decade ago, they might have played as heroes. Today, they're just grifters – bullshitters faking it until they make it, lying to Hill (and getting caught out), and the rest of us. The founders themselves are erratic weirdos, and not the fun kind of weirdos, either. Ton-That – who emigrated to Silicon Valley from Australia as a teenager, seeking a techie's fortune – comes across as a bro-addled dimbulb who threw his lot in with white nationalists, MAGA Republicans, Rudy Guiliani bagmen, Peter Theil, and assorted other tech-adjascent goblins.
Meanwhile, biometrics generally – and facial recognition specifically – is a discipline with a long and sordid history, inextricably entwined with phrenology and eugenics, as Hill describes in a series of interstitial chapters that recount historical attempts to indentify the facial features that correspond with criminality and low intelligence.
These interstitials are woven into a-ha moments from Clearview's history, in which various investors, employees, hangers-on, competitors and customers speculate about how a facial-recognition system could eventually not just recognize criminals, but predict criminality. It's a potent reminder of the AI industry's many overlaps with "race-science" and other quack beliefs.
Hill also describes how Clearview and its competitors' recklessness and arrogance created the openings for shrewd civil libertarians to secure bipartisan support for biometric privacy laws, most notably Illinois' best-of-breed Biometric Information Privacy Act:
https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=3004&ChapterID=57
But by the end of the book, Hill makes the case that Ton-That and his competitors have gotten away with it. Facial recognition is now so easy to build that – she says – we're unlikely to abolish it, despite all the many horrifying ways that FR could fuck up our societies. It's a sobering conclusion, and while Hill holds out some hope for curbing the official use of FR, she seems resigned to a future in which – for example – creepy guys covertly snap photos of women on the street, use those pictures to figure out their names and addresses, and then stalk and harass them.
If she's right, this is Ton-That's true legacy, and the legacy of the funders who handed him millions to spend building this. Perhaps someone else would have stepped into that sweaty, reckless-grifter-shaped hole if Ton-That hadn't been there to fill it, but in our timeline, we can say that Ton-That was the bumbler who helped destroy something precious.

I wish I'd had the wherewithal at the time to properly document in real-time the influx of new people into Fandom spaces online during the start of the pandemic.
There's a very interesting set of people who, because they were spending so much time indoors, decided to navigate online spaces for more content of their favorite media. And, in doing so, dipped their toes in the first few inches of Fandom space.
I've seen most of these types of people on tiktok where it's fairly easy to access introductory Fandom content like fan edits and what are essentially AMVs. Because of the nature of those searches, most of the results at first are very surface-level. Nothing too crazy, just screen grabs, scene breakdowns, thirst traps, etc.
But, as is the nature of getting into a tag on tiktok, eventually the algorithm starts pushing you deeper content the more you interact with a tag. And suddenly, you're getting in-depth breakdowns, shipping content, and then, slowly, content that starts slipping away from strict canon.
So these people, who likely didn't necessarily anticipate the depth of Fandom or understand its quirks and layers, are thrown off. You see "discourse" at this level by people who have never been in Fandom before getting really pissy about things like crack ships, aus, or anything that isn't very strictly canon/explicitly said. Purists who don't want to be associated with the other people who have been in Fandom spaces for longer.
Now, this happens all the time even before the pandemic but because of both the pandemic and the popularization of titkok, this particular fan is a much larger part of Fandom. There's a lot of them and new ones every day and none of them know how Fandom works, what the like general rules and etiquette are, and a good chunk are very resistant to critiques on how they interact with fandom spaces.
The biggest culprit are people who, through tiktok, have literally been influenced to find fanfic. But not based on what they actually would like to read, but what they hear that everyone else has read or is reading again. Unfortunately, the fic that has had the most traction and spread on tiktok is Manacled, a Harry Potter fic. Anyone familiar with ao3 can look this up if you don't already know about it. And if you'd read the tags, I'm sure you could piece together why exactly a fresh new Fandom recruit or even just a regular person who happened to enjoy HP years ago would come across something that is being passed around as good and enjoyable and a way to relieve their favorite series may have terrible consequences.
Then there was this frankly huge influx of people who had never read fic before and had no idea how to parse the system of tags on ao3 reading a book about their favorite characters in a very dark, riddled with triggers, extreme AU. A lot of these people were basically following a trend. And most of the videos I saw talk about Manacled did not really do it justice in terms of preparing their audience for exactly what this fic had in it, nor how to properly interact with the Fandom space and ao3.
People were reading Manacled but not paying attention to tags and then making videos basically slandering the author for the story, hate reading it to talk shit and make hate content. But, on the flip side, there are people who loved it and wanted physical copies.
Unfortunately, this is where a singular tiktok comes into play in which a friend videoed gifting her friend a bound copy she'd made herself of Manacled. And like on tumblr, when certain posts get a threshold of interactions, it breaks containment. This caused another small influx of people who had never been introduced to Fandom, let alone fic, to flock to ao3.
At this point, we start getting into you-all-are-going-to-get-sued territory.
A large number of people read Manacled and other, mostly very popular dramoine, fanfiction. An undetermined amount of those people then, after seeing the video of the binding, began searching for ways to purchase a physically bound copy for themselves. For whatever reason, most were not willing to do this themselves, and so this is where the etsy listings came in.
There was a small boom of etsy listings for bound copies of mostly Mancled. In fact, you can still find these up. This, obviously, is both very illegal and very fucking insulting. This is a very big legal issue. In response, at least at the time, several of the bigger, popular fics took down their work from ao3. Which unfortunately didn't do much because in response, people who had downloaded the first prior were sharing those downloads with heartbroken fans.
You'd think that after being told that selling fic is illegal that people would stop. But they don't. If you take a look at one of the etsy listings, some of these are being sold for over 100 dollars. There's been a small push by parts of Fandom that have been around for a while to go to etsy occasionally and mass report these listings, but it's not really stopped anyone yet.
Fic authors have made a ton of requests either on tiktok or through ao3 for people to not do this. But, because most of these people don't know Fandom etiquette or even care about actual law or respecting authors, these requests have been mostly ignored.
Over the years as an author and someone who has also just read a lot of fic, there is a ratio involved in fic metrics. Generally, you can usually expect about 10% of the hits value for kudos and anything from 1% to 5% of the hits value for comments.
Due to the influx of people with no understanding of fic Fandom etiquette, if you look at the metrics for Mancled, it has over 8,300,000 hits. But its kudos and comments do not reflect the usual ratio.
There is even a strange crossover with goodreads where you can literally find reviews for Manacled. Which is honestly probably one of the most interesting things Ive seen. There are actually several dramione fics you can review on goodreads.
I'm still trying to process how some people's first introduction to fic was Manacled. I'm not saying the story isn't good or isn't well written. But, you have to admit it's a very strong first foray into fanfiction.
All of this to say, when you run into someone starting fights in Fandom space about canon or shipping, I'd say there's a good chance that you're interacting with someone fresh into the space who's entire online experience has likely just been Facebook and fan edits on tiktok. Metaphorically, a group of people who only have ever used salt and pepper on tv dinners arguing about your wine pairings, seasonings, and why you deviated from Marie Callender's fettuccine Alfredo recipe.
As a disclaimer, not all new additions to Fandom are bad. It's great to grow. It is interesting to see how a lot of antis come into the space, though.

Account:
Enable 2FA (You should be doing this with any social media site you have)
Filter by Tags: Hides tags you don't want to see. This may be like triggers, squicks, etc. This is common courtesy on tumblr!
Filter by post content: This is similar to filter by tags but it actually filters by the words in the post!
Content Labels: This is a CONTENT WARNING, you can set it to hide the post when it pops up or outright remove them entirely. The sexual content label does NOT mean porn is allowed on tumblr. ALSO there is a setting to "hide" this content. This is required for the IOS version of tiktok and you cannot change it on there. You must change it on the web version in order to get content with these tags to appear.
Dashboard:
This is your homepage! When you log into tumblr your dashboard will be the first thing you see.
I highly suggest enabling timestamps and shortening long posts. Especially shortening long posts. If you don't want endless scrolling turn it off and it'll show only a few posts before giving a next page link. (This is good for not losing your place).
Color Palettes: Color your Dashboard! EXTREME EYESTRAIN WARNING ON THE PRIDE THEME.
Preferences:
Turn off these settings to get chronological posts (posts in order of when they were posted):
Best Stuff First
Posts liked by blogs you follow
Based on your likes
Tags you follow
Notifications: There are separate notif settings for each of your blogs. Turn off tumblr news and Conversational notifications.
Privacy:
Turn OFF "improved search" and turn ON "do not sell my personal information". This is opting out of AI training!!!!
Blogs:
These are blog settings for each of your blogs. Tumblr comes with the handy feature to make multiple blogs so many people have several sideblogs!
The one with the star is your main blog. If you delete this one it will delete your ENTIRE TUMBLR ACCOUNT so be careful!
Custom themes allow you to customize your tumblr. A few links to resources to find f2u page codes is included in this post.
I'm skipping a few settings here because they all have in depth descriptions and you can choose them as you please. But I'm going to offer an explanation on the last four.
Hide from people without an account:
This is automatically enabled with all new users (as of 2022) . While this enabled you CANNOT use a custom theme. It disables your regular blog url (i.e lozthusk.tumblr.com) and only allows access via the dashboard (the tumblr.com/your username url) to people who are logged in.
Discourage external searching:
This doesn't completely hide your blog from search engines but it essentially tries to as best as it can.
Exclude from Tumblr search and recommendations:
This removes your post from the tumblr search and blog recommendations. Turning this on makes it harder to find your blog!
Prevent third-party sharing:
TURN THIS ON. This prevents AI datascraping!!!
Finding Who To Follow:
Tumblr doesn't have algorithms. You have to curate the content you see.
Follow Tags
This is good for discovering people in the general sphere of your interest.
2. Find people you follow elsewhere
3. Follow your friends reblogs
Posting:
Tumblr media
These are quicklinks at the top of your dashboard. Whatever one you pick will be at the TOP of the page. This is also what kind of post it will be shown as in your archive.
Since there is no algorithm on tumblr, the way you share stuff you like is by reblogging it. Liking is the equivalent of just bookmarking it for later.
The tags in your RB are the comment section! When you RB don't be afraid to share your thoughts there!
Customization:
49th Name
Pneuma-Themes
SheaThemes
RetrcMoon
Page dividers and blinkies are good for customizing your theme more! Many of people on tumblr provide f2u ones.
Page Dividers
Blinkies
If you use themes and icons made by others it is courtesy to reblog the original post you got it from.
Anyway HAVE FUN BYE.

I searched it but couldn't find anything about it, but why are you only including 5 member for kinktober?
ayee thanks for stopping by to ask! nobody has ever asked so I never explained 😂 so I got into writing in this fandom like about a year and a half ago and had no idea what I was doing and kinda just spat some shit out (that I now absolutely hate lmfao 100 follower special, anyone? That fluff was garbage IMO)
I don’t write Felix often/at all because I can’t quite understand his personality enough to feel I can articulate him authentically in writing yet. Also he’s kind of juvenile in a way that reminds me of a younger sibling, making it tough to slut him out. I’m always so impressed by smut Felix writers. They capture him well! I know something freaky is lying under that golden exterior. But I’m working on it! I write about him in my other two full length fics but unfortunately, I don’t think my portrayal of him is very accurate at all. But I keep going because well, it’s already started lol.
I don’t write Seungmin yet because I’m still learning about him and his likes/dislikes and mannerisms and personality. He’s the one I know the least about. All I know is that folx call him a puppy. I don’t think I’ve heard him speak as much as I have in the recent chuseok specials. I know he’s a little terror though, lol, unsure of the origins of it though.
I don’t write IN for the same reasons as above, but lately, he’s been portrayed in a way that’s making me consider roping him in the future into something fun. Someone who met him in person said he seemed the most masculine and adult out of all the members! Surprise surprise! The baby bread shit was off putting. I was like, I’m not slutting out someone with the nickname “baby bread”; but my mind is changing, and fast lol.
-
Why do I write the fellas I write? Aka my “starting team”?
I’m most comfortable writing Chan, he’s closest to me in age and I watch him enough to know his mannerisms and personality. Down to little things like his obsession with space, the way he laughs through his teeth, and his lopsided smile when he’s being a dork. Chan doesn’t like coffee, so in one of my imagines, I made it a point to state the reader was making coffee for herself. If I read someone who has Chan drinking coffee I’d assume they either took creative liberty or have no idea that this man does not fuck with coffee lol. Fun fact: add “yeah?” To the end of a question/statement and it immediately rings Chan’s voice in your mind, doesn’t it? “Guess you’ve got a lot to think about then, yeah?” “How about we head on out to the bar, yeah?”Those details really can make/break someone’s immersion!
Next comes Hyunjin. Hyunjin was difficult for me to write at first, his personality is so multi faceted and not much like his stage persona at all, which is quite powerful! But the algorithm started forcing him onto me in candid situations and I began to understand his nuances too. I grasped an understanding of his micro expressions and mannerisms enough to feel confident writing him.
Third is Lino! I swore against writing Lino because he was such a mystery to me! I later found a video of him being weird and his quirky personality and deadpan affect when saying certain things. He reminds me of some of my closest friends. Sometimes, I feel like I don’t give Lino enough depth! I’m an experienced Scorpio wrangler, and I know he’s got some intense depths to that ocean that can be portrayed so much better. Working on it!
Fourth favorite is Jisung. I use Jisung for light hearted things and comic relief. I almost never write angst Jisung. I probably could, and probably will one day! But for now, I’ve only candidly seen him happy and funny, it’s sometimes hard to even write him in smut because I can’t see him taking much of anything seriously. I know he has bad anxiety and other various mental health concerns, so he’s not all rainbows and butterflies but he doesn’t seem to let folx in on that side of him often, if at all, so it’s difficult to imagine for me right now, so for him, I keep it light.
Fifth newest favorite is Changbin. Changbin is still a little confusing to me but I can at least pinpoint his manner of speech, he can be quite aggressive quite suddenly, in a playful manner. I’m still not too great on describing his mannerisms in literature, but I’ve grown comfortable enough to experiment with him for Kinktober.
-
So you see, my cool beautiful anon, it’s just a matter of time until I work my way down to the rest of the members :) at first, I swore I’d only write Chan, and then it exploded into five. I’m certain by next year’s kinktober, all eight members will be rightfully represented :)

Is Blogging Still Relevant in the Age of Tiktoks and Instagram?
Tumblr media
You might be wondering if blogging still holds its ground with the rise of TikTok and Instagram. The answer is a certainly yes! While these platforms are fantastic for quick, eye-catching content, blogs offer a special space for diving deep into topics. They allow for rich storytelling, comprehensive guides, and a personal touch that helps foster community and build trust. Many readers still seek out blogs for detailed insights and tutorials that shorter formats can’t provide. Plus, a well-crafted blog can drive traffic to your social media profiles, enhancing your overall online presence. In this ever-evolving digital landscape, blogging remains a powerful and relevant tool!
About Instagram
Since its 2010 launch, Instagram quickly gained popularity, now boasting over one billion active users. While many content creators favor Instagram's visual appeal and immediacy, its limitations, such as non-clickable links, hinder blog promotion. As Instagram evolved into a hub for curated content, it has overshadowed traditional blogging, leading some bloggers to transition entirely to the platform. However, the depth and engagement of well-crafted blog posts remain unmatched by shorter social media formats.
Instagram User Growth from 2013 to Present
Tumblr media
About TikToks
In the first quarter of 2019, TikTok was the most downloaded app from Apple’s iOS App Store, rapidly gaining widespread popularity. Its influence has even extended to Instagram, where numerous food posts feature popular "TikTok recipes," such as baked oats and feta pasta. Additionally, Instagram Reels appear to draw inspiration from TikTok, and the platform tends to prioritize accounts that utilize this feature. While achieving growth on Instagram can be difficult, TikTok's algorithm allows users to go viral regardless of their follower count, highlighting a key difference between the two platforms.
Tiktok’s Exploasive Growth from Launch to 2024
Tumblr media
Why Were These Platforms were Acknowledged by Most Society
Joining platforms like Instagram and TikTok is straightforward. Users simply sign up and begin publishing content without the complexities associated with traditional blogging. There is no need to manage a DNS server, purchase a domain, pay for hosting, or install software like WordPress. Additionally, users do not have to navigate themes or widgets. All that is required is a mobile phone, which allows for easy photo editing with applications like Lightroom and VSCO, enabling the creation of a visually appealing Instagram feed. TikTok similarly simplifies the video editing process within the app, eliminating the need for advanced software like Final Cut Pro or Adobe’s suite.
Furthermore, Instagram and TikTok offer the potential to reach a vast audience. As Valentina Chirico notes, every influencer seeks to expand their reach, and both platforms provide opportunities to present content to millions. The audience is already present; creators only need to ensure their content is visible. In contrast, blogging often requires significant effort to build an audience, especially if one is not already prominent on search engines like Google or Pinterest. Blogging typically revolves around long-form content, which can be at odds with the fast-paced consumption habits of today’s mobile users who prefer quick, engaging posts. Consequently, brands are increasingly inclined to collaborate with Instagram and TikTok influencers, sometimes overlooking traditional bloggers, which can lead to frustration for those who feel well-suited for such opportunities.
Is Blogging Entirely “Dead”?
Tumblr media
Despite predictions that blogging may decline due to the rise of social media, I firmly believe blogging remains relevant. While the audience and consumption methods are changing, with a greater focus on problem-solving content and SEO-driven traffic, blogs continue to thrive as part of a broader content marketing strategy. Additionally, blogs provide greater control and security compared to social media platforms, where accounts can be banned or deleted. Personally, blogging remains a full-time, profitable venture, proving its continued value.
Will Blog Still Exist?
Despite predictions that blogging may decline due to the rise of social media, I firmly believe blogging remains relevant. While the audience and consumption methods are changing, with a greater focus on problem-solving content and SEO-driven traffic, blogs continue to thrive as part of a broader content marketing strategy. How Will Blog Change Towards The Future
Tumblr media
Blogs somehow will find it’s way to change in several ways. As generative AI gains popularity, storytelling will take on greater significance. Blogs will evolve into tools for building personal brands, making it more challenging to stand out. Ultimately, blogs are likely to shift into digital publishing enterprises.

Unlocking the Power of Digital Marketing in 2024: Key Strategies for Success In today's fast-evolving digital landscape, businesses need a strong online presence to stay competitive. Digital marketing has emerged as the go-to strategy for brands looking to connect with their target audience, boost sales, and build lasting relationships. At Digital Marketing Lab, we explore the latest trends, strategies, and tools that can transform your business into a digital powerhouse.
Why Digital Marketing Matters More Than Ever With over 5 billion people using the internet worldwide, having a digital strategy is no longer optional. Consumers increasingly rely on online platforms to discover, evaluate, and purchase products or services. This growing reliance on digital channels offers businesses endless opportunities to engage and convert potential customers.
In 2024, digital marketing continues to evolve, with a focus on personalization, automation, and omnichannel experiences. Whether you're a small business or a large enterprise, an effective digital marketing strategy can help you reach a wider audience, improve customer engagement, and drive growth.
Key Digital Marketing Strategies for 2024 To stay ahead of the curve, here are the top digital marketing strategies to implement in 2024:
Content Marketing Content remains king, but the way businesses approach it is changing. High-quality, value-driven content that speaks directly to your audience’s needs will drive better engagement. This includes blog posts, videos, infographics, podcasts, and more. Interactive content like polls, quizzes, and surveys is also gaining traction as it encourages user participation.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) SEO continues to be a critical pillar of digital marketing. Google and other search engines are constantly updating their algorithms to prioritize websites with the best user experience. In 2024, focus on core web vitals, mobile-first indexing, and voice search optimization to ensure your site ranks well. Local SEO is also becoming more important as consumers search for businesses “near me.”
Social Media Marketing Social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok remain powerful tools for brand promotion. Leveraging influencer marketing, user-generated content, and short-form videos can enhance your brand’s visibility. In 2024, we expect more brands to use AI-powered social listening tools to better understand their audience and respond to trends in real time.
Email Marketing and Personalization Email marketing is far from obsolete—in fact, it’s more effective than ever when combined with personalization. Consumers expect brands to deliver relevant, personalized messages that cater to their individual preferences. Using AI tools to segment audiences and create automated email flows based on user behavior can help boost engagement and conversions.
Pay-Per-Click Advertising (PPC) PPC remains a go-to strategy for instant visibility. Platforms like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and Instagram Ads offer highly targeted campaigns that reach specific audiences. In 2024, AI-driven campaign management tools will take PPC to the next level, optimizing budgets, targeting, and ad placements for maximum ROI.
Video Marketing Video is rapidly becoming the preferred medium for online users, making it an essential part of any digital marketing strategy. Whether it's short, engaging TikToks, in-depth YouTube tutorials, or live streams on Instagram, businesses need to incorporate video content to connect with their audiences. In 2024, shoppable videos and interactive livestreams will dominate the video marketing scene.
AI and Automation Artificial intelligence and automation tools are transforming the digital marketing landscape. From chatbots that provide instant customer service to AI-driven content creation, businesses are leveraging technology to improve efficiency and customer experience. Tools like predictive analytics and machine learning also enable marketers to make data-driven decisions, enhancing campaign success rates.
Staying Ahead in the Digital Marketing Game The digital marketing world is constantly evolving, but the fundamentals remain the same: know your audience, provide value, and adapt to new trends and technologies. Whether you're looking to revamp your existing strategy or build a new one from the ground up, keeping an eye on these key trends will ensure your brand stays competitive in 2024.
At Digital Marketing Lab, we're committed to helping businesses navigate the complexities of digital marketing. We provide actionable insights, tips, and resources to help you grow your online presence and achieve your business goals.
