Tumblr is a desktop experience, the app is just a better than nothing option.

@staff
The new desktop design sucks. Remind me why you had to make it look like twitter instead of just keeping it the was it was before? It is not a better design. I want tumblr. NOT twitter.

I promise I am asking this in a non-judgmental manner: why do some of y’all use desktop version?
Like, do you bring your laptop everywhere so you can pull up tumblr when you’re in line at the pharmacy or bored waiting for a doctor’s appointment?
Do you prop your laptop sideways so you can scroll lying in bed?
Or do you approach tumblr the way you would a remote job? You get up, get dressed, and sit down at a desk to look at tumblr for a select period of time before putting it away for the day
I guess I just can’t picture what a desktop user does if they want to look at tumblr. I use tumblr when I’m lying in bed immediately after waking and before going to bed, as well as during the day during “waiting” moments such as pharmacy, doctor’s appointment, lines at the grocery, etc. as well as while I’m watching TV (on my laptop). I just can’t picture using a laptop or computer monitor during moments like these
Desktop users, I am desperate awaiting your response

Fun new Tumblr bug(?) for me! I can now reach the end of my dashboard.
Like. I can click "next page" or use the right arrow button to go to the next page of my (page-view) dash, and it will take me there! But only so far. Sooner or later, the "next page" button disappears, and the right arrow does nothing.
This seems to depend on how much new content I have available to read. Since the update that removed page number views, I have no idea exactly how many pages deep I can go before I "run out" of dashboard, but if I have fewer than ten new posts to read? I can go one page out.
That's it. Just one extra page. I can read a total of, what, two dozen posts at most?
Which. Is certainly one way to reduce upkeep costs, I can tell you that much! But uh. Between that and still not getting a mutual's posts on my dash, even after re-following them, I'm even less filled with confidence in Tumblr than I used to be.
Oh look, and the legacy editor seems to be gone now as well. Fun! No, wait, the other thing: Terrible.

MOSHIE-
I found out that apparently on desktop/not in app, the limit for images is like 30 images or something instead of ten
DANG IT
the true reason i downloaded tumblr on my laptop was for super boops... But this is very useful as well

Is desktop Tumblr glitched for anyone else. It logged me out, crashed, and the page said 420 on black void while refreshing. Currently I can't log back for shit.

btw if anyone's having issues w tumblr desktop, try disabling your ad block and see if that fixes it
AdBlocker on firefox completely broke the dash for me, but i just installed a different ad blocker and it didn't mess up my feed 😋

Not a big fan of the new layout @staff ...too much to look at.
Tumblr Live is already an eyesore and very unimportant as a feature for me. Now the layout is even more disorganized looking...sigh.
At least there is mobile when my eyes and attention doesn't feel like it wants to be at war...
