Do you think Gendry will go North with Arya when they finally meet? GRRM confirmed their reunion but rn Gendry is guarding the orphans. I confess I’ll be very disappointed if we never hear from Gendry again once Arya goes to Winterfell. He is a promising character, they had a deep bond and I honestly can’t see Arya with a love interest other than Gendry at this point, but GRRM is evil. I can’t wait for him to tell her about LSH. I think he’ll represent the Smith during her actual funeral. I’m very interested in her reaction when she finds out he’s Robert’s son and I want her to kill Dunsen and give him back his helm lol

it might be wishful thinking but yes, i like the idea of gendry returning to winterfell with arya and i think its possible. i don't expect gendry will just have a fleeting appearance in the future in any case. when arya and gendry were together he was a significant presence in her storyline. his name appears more in her chapters than any other besides her own. there is no alternative "love interest" for her. the cards have been dealt for nearly all of the important ships and theres not going to be any new major romantic narratives (j*nerys being the one exception)

i think arya might end up having some notion of lady stoneheart via the weirwood warg net, but i want gendry to give her the details too and, assuming she's still there, bring arya to the hollow hill. im absolutely hung up on catelyn getting a proper funeral with arya, the bwb and edmure.

my hope for the crossroads orphans is that they're taken to a more secure location. that situation does not seem tenable. like at all. i would love to see arya step in and help them. arya was orphaned and wandering the riverlands once too just like these kids. she didn't have the resources for food, shelter, protection either. but as she becomes more powerful she will be able to make a difference. it reminds me of how she tried to take care of weasel. thats the kind of development i really want to see. hopefully by the end of twow. i think theres a genuine chance for it too. when jeyne h. says gendry has gone back to willow and the little ones to keep them safe brienne thinks: "no one can keep them safe" grrm repeatedly plays on the "no one" phrase with arya.

thoughts: my absolute absolute absolute favorite iwaoi fic. the characterization, the fact that oikawa’s a bastard but because he and iwaizumi are older (late 20s i believe), it feels more realistic and sad rather than oikawa being a bitch for the sake of it. spoiler alert it’s slow burn and pining and mostly oikawa not realizing his feelings. this world building is pretty cool bc iwaizumi is the professional player while oikawa is an entomology professor! also i love non-linear narratives bc of This fic. there’s mutual pining in this fic but it’s really really really subtle to the point where you dont even know if oikawa likes iwa. this made me cry like twice.

thoughts: the tone in this is So similar to the courtship ritual that I liken this as an alternate story even though it’s still oikawa’s pov. professional player oikawa and regular guy iwaizumi and oikawa is just. bumming around at iwaizumi’s place and naturally he messes up but things happen.

thoughts: so funny. so sososoosso genuinely funny. the tone is so snappy and iwaizumi honestly just sounds like a confused teenager (which he is in this) and it gets extra points for including a lot of american culture that a lot of the other iwaoi college au ones don’t include for like. obvious reasons lol.

okay so since i couldn’t resist, here’s some info about my random ie:go steven universe!au because i have no energy for online lessons :)

also i didn’t want to post about another au since @/primsbean is making so many posts about her ie:go madoka magica!au which i fUCKING LOVE OHMYGOD- but yeah, alternate universes are my favorite snacc. i have another one to talk about but first let’s say things about the SU one <3

under the cut because it’s LONG - and remember i’m not a native english so i might do some mistakes

okay so first of all, don’t blame me if there will be some events that don’t follow the plot (since i’m NOT remaking steven universe with ie charas!!!!! please keep this in mind) or events that Rebecca Sugar would have never inserted in her show. I respect everyone who worked at steven universe, and my intention is not to say their plot/story was bad, i’m just adding something that did never happen with any chara in the su series to make my au more original, that’s it. peace and love oN THE PLANET EARTH- okay that was the best su song hands down

also keep in mind gems don’t have “gemmic” names (if you know just a little of the su series, you should know all the gems are named after their gem, but i wont give that kind of names to the ie boys - or should i call them gems then? lol)

all the gems - for now - will be males too (as there werent any og male gems in steven universe besides steven, which is an hybrid though so...)

i will list each chara’s gem and ability after the general plot <3

so, the actual protags (though all the charas are!!! these are the two) are Tenma and Fey, who are around 5,000 years old - please if you don’t remember how the gems’ years worked go search it up, there are so many threads about that - and protect inazuma city (insert shooked face) from corrupted gems’ attacks. these attacks are not really frequent and they seem to deal with the situation, but one day they start increasing, being more frequent than usual and also the gems who attack are stronger and different from the previous ones. Fey starts making a theory about a possible new attempt of the homeworld gems (i still haven’t decided which charas will “represent” them, though, since this plot is a kind of season 1 we could say??) to start colonizing Earth via war, as they already did 3,500 years before the current events but failed, with the terrestrial gems rejecting them but also losing a lot of them - since some of them got shattered during the war and others escaped to travel to other planets to start colonizing them theirselves so they could live a new, pacific life. Tenma, at first, isn’t that sure about what Fey said, but as the corrupted gems’ attacks kept increasing he realized he could have been right. as they’re the only two gems who protect their city, they start thinking they should ask help to someone, trying to find more powerful gems. 

Fey suggests to search for a trio (whose name is still not 100% sure... i randomly thought about Prism Trio just because I couldn’t remake Crystal Gems ahahah I still don’t know) which protect old war ruins in a forgotten area which is actually near Inazuma City though - but still, only some gems know about it, for example Fey did researches but Tenma knew nothing. This trio will be formed by your local ie:go chaotic trio aka Shindou, Kirino and Kariya (well, if i don’t get any more ideas for the name, then Gay Trio will be alright), who are respectively 7,600, 8,000 and 7,100 years old and actually fought in the first war. They find them fighting against a corrupted fusion, and try to join them to finish it easily and fastly. As they actually give the trio a good help, they still get scolded by them because they went in an area they shouldn’t have been to. However, the trio is still thankful to them for their help, and when Fey tells them about the situation in Inazuma City Shindou replies telling him his theory might be right as he had heard about the increasing attacks, also because the ruins were more attacked than usual in that period. Tenma kindly asks them if they could give their help back, coming with him and Fey and trying to reject the attacks together, even though he thought they’d never agree. Kirino is absolutely okay with that and shows positivity towards Tenma’s idea, while Kariya isn’t that sure since all of them should get used to a new routine, different from the one they were used to in the last millenniums. Shindou, who was neutral at the beginning, proved Kirino right since that would have been the best way to know more about the new attacks, and finally convinces Kariya to join them.

As they get in TenFey’s temple (which is the only thing IDENTICAL to the original SU one, except for the statue in the original version which is absent now), they start organizing their rooms (you know, in the temple there was that one door who led to each gem’s personal room, so the trio starts get used to them), they also keep fighting against new species of corrupted gems who keep attacking the city.

One day, then, all the five gems get to another ruins area, further from the ones the trio used to fight in, and at a moment Tenma remains alone and encounters... bepreparedtocringeihadnoideassorry... Sasuke. Yes, I did a Lion reference using Tenma’s dog instead. Original af, congrats. BY THE WAY,, he understands this gIaNt DoG (ohmygod the lion sounded better,, damn me and my dumb ideas) is related to gems somehow, and when he gets back - since Sasuke disappears after some seconds - tells the others about it, but everyone gets it as a joke and doesnt trust him. In the next fight, though, Sasuke approaches the gems and gives them help (still idk how, gotta rewatch all the lion episodes 382679345 times to get more ideas), so they all understand Tenma was right.

Some days after that, while Tenma is playing with Sasuke (gOOD BOY,,,,, I MEAN GEM,,,,,,,,,,), the dog drags him into a portal/warp (did i spell it good omg my english gets worse every day...) - just as lion sometimes does in the og series, lol - and since this warp keeps being open for some seconds, the other four gems enter it as Tenma might be in trouble alone. They all discover Sasuke led Tenma to an unknown area, which i wanted to be a desert bUT THAT LOOKS A LOT LIKE THE OG SERIES HOLY SHI- so okay, let’s make it a normal land, where there’s a fight going on. They notice a gem fighting a corrupted one all alone, and this gem seems really in need of help so they try everything to save him (oMg SpOiLeRs ThE gEm Is A mALe ToO!!11!!!111!) as they see he doesn’t have any weapon and only fights with the things he finds around himself, such as common rocks. That gem is no one else (???) than Hikaru *cries in i needed to add him hes so baby* who tells the five gems he had never seen such a powerful corrupted gem before and that he was used to reject the previous attacks in that zone more easily, and when Tenma asks him if he wants to come with him and the others to the temple Hikaru accepts without any doubt. As he gets to the temple, the others ask him if he has any weapon, but he tells them he never had the strenght to “develop” one. Perhaps, his ability (the only i’ll reveal here in the plot!!) is really useful, as he can generate light from his gem and make people and other gems blind for a limited amount of time - which, at the beginning, is really short but always increasing. He also wants to practice it as he wants to control the limit of time (for example, blinding people/gems just for a minute even if he could do for ten). When he shows his ability to the other gems, they all get blind... besides Kariya and here the ship sails *coughs* n-nothing, who is actually immune to the light’s effect. Being the only one who doesnt get blind, he starts helping Hikaru to develop his weapon.

I still haven’t thought about the rest of the plot, but there are still three characters I wanted to add. In order: Kyousuke, as an hybrid whose backstory will be way different from Steven’s in the og series (as he wasn’t born an hybrid, neither one of his parents was a gem), then Minaho and Manabe who are gems from another planet (not Homeworld, though) that are usually fused all the time... but, still, I have to think abt a plot ahah

Tenma: bow and arrow, he can control the wind

Fey: he basically makes grow poisonous creepers from everywhere (kind of inspired from Lapis in the og series as she generated water and could control it), controls nature in general

Shindou: sword, his voice can reach really high pitches so if he screams he can destroy things (and, maybe, he could start shattering gems too... who knows)

Kirino: lance, has a really high speed

Kariya: basically can make strong claws grow from his hands (idk how to describe it holy fuck,,, i cant draw either, if i could i’d have showed u), his ability is telekinesis

Hikaru: well, i don’t wanna spoil his weapon as i’m gonna make another post asap... i already said what his ability was, btw. also!! i didnt mention it before, but his age is around 3000 y/o

Kyousuke: katana, he can read any person’s mind for ten minutes if he had contact with them, same goes with gems but he must touch their gem in order to read their mind (age, in human years: 17)

Minaho: guns, he can understand if someone or something interacted with someone/something else just by smelling it (sounds cringe ik,, btw his age is the same as Manabe’s, 6,700)

Manabe: since i had no more ideas, don’t blame me if this sounds Peridot-ish, but he can actually generate small but powerful robots he can control and fight with, his ability is controlling technology in general.

Another last thing... these nine characters are the same of the other au i mentioned (which is way more calm than this,,, i also have more info abt that, too), so look forward to that too <3

So if you have not seen it yet, a YouTuber named GOOENSKEW interviewed Hosuh back in August 2018, about right after the purge video.

I really recommend listening to it, but if you cant, here's some main points/quotes from the video:

Hosuh really appreciates fanart, and the time and effort people put into it (even when it's ship art).

Hosuh wanted to do DanPlan/YouTube for a living, and Daniel even said he wants to get a house and live together (I dont know if he meant Dan and Hosuh or Dan, Hosuh, and Stephen).

Hosuh hates the YouTube algorithm and how it favors videos with really clickbait-y thumbnails and titles that are only out for views. "I frown everytime I see a video that's 10 minutes, 4 seconds long."

Hosuh said if he could work on DanPlan with Daniel and Stephen (+ other animators) anywhere, he would pick Vancouver (where Dan and Stephen live).

One thing Hosuh really wanted to do for the longest time was make a mafia video, but back then, that was impossible since that would require a large group of people and it would take a lot of art skill/time they didnt have.

Hosuh also always wanted a big team of animators they could work with.

"It's great though, having a weird, wacky sleep schedule, where you go to sleep at 8am in the morning."

One of his favorite YouTube series is Buzzfeed's "Worth It" (where they do the $1 food vs $1000 food thing)

Hosuh first started doing art back in elementary school, when he would draw a lot of manga (or alternatively, just a bunch of funny comics). Then he moved on to animation, and eventually DanPlan.

The most embarrased he's ever been was back in the first prank video (cuz so many people saw it). He was angry at Dan and Stephen for a like a week but he forgives them uwu

They almost decided to just scrap the psychopath video (the video that got them their popularity) and not post it. When they did, they only expected it to get like 100 views, and they were so excited when it got 1000. Now it has 6.5 million.

thor and rocket are the pairing that i never imagined but amazing none the less. i loved that we got the return of mjolnir here even though idk what that does to the timeline (again who knows at this point) 

rhodey and nebula again another pairing i didnt expect but are great together. everything about nebula in this film. she really has a great arch. i was stressing out so hard when the alternate timeline thanos found out that they came from the past. the scene where peter quill is dancing and singing to no music was great.

clint and natasha. this pairing thie duo the og. fuck my heart. when they started going off to vormir i knew. i knew it and i cannot handle it. the whole scene where they are fighting each other to sacrifice themself i was SOBBING. LEGIT SOBBING. ‘let me go’ i loved this so much and also hated it. she deserved her happy ending too. after everything she gave up everything to save those people. her arch is so good too. im excited for her origin. i kinda want to see her when shes a bad guy and killing everyone and her journey to shield. i hope thats what we’ll see in her movie. 

but also that scene emotionally fucked me up hard.

im sad that she wasn’t in the film as much but i get why they did it and it also makes me really excited for her future films

but carol getting the gauntlet and peter saying “i dont know how youre gonna get through that” 

and ALL THE BADASS MCU WOMEN COMING UP BEHIND HER READY TO FIGHT AND REPRESENT FOR THE FEMALES (CRYING) 

this is something that couldn’t of been done a few years ago because there weren’t a lot of female superheroes in this universe and just the fact that this scene can make such an impression and become probably one of the most badass scenes of the mcu is one of the best things that came out of this movie.

his character arch from a selfish man to a selfless man has been the most profound and powerful story. 

rdj and tony stark have really carried this franchise. they were the start. and it makes sense that his death closes out this era of the mcu. 

to rdj: i will never forgive my mom for telling me that she didn’t like you way back when. that really influenced how i thought about you and about tony stark for years. and i limited me from really appreciating and loving iron man and those movies and tony’s character. but as i continued to watch more of you in the mcu and in real life and have seen how you have grown and who you are today, i have so much love and respect for you and your character. im just so upset at the time i lost where i could have fallen even more in love with you. thank you so much for everything you have done over the last 11 years for this franchise. thank you for the time thank you for the memories and the laughs. the journey has been amazing.

to chris evans: as this is probably the last time we will see you as captain america let me thank you too for the years and joy that you have brought to my life. youre it for me. you are the reason i became so invested in this world. when you jumped on the fake grenade i was in it with you. chris you are and will always be the best chris in my heart. your passion for this character and understanding of steve rogers and his motivations have created such a memorable performance. steve rogers will always be the og. he will always have my heart. i am so thankful that you took this opportunity and used it and made this character your own. you live up to the standards that steve holds for himself and i am so excited for your future. i am also so glad that you didn’t die in this movie bc i definitely could not have handled it if i had to watch both my favs die. i love you three thousand.

i literally cried throughout the whole movie. there were laughs, cheers, groans, stress, tears, and love throughout this film. i am so grateful that i am alive during this time in cinematic history. there will never be something as great or momentous as this film. a true culmination of 22 films. its never been done and i doubt itll ever be done again

i am also so impressed and amazed by how well this film turned out. it is just amazing how everything fell into place 

im sure ill read other people’s reactions and they will bring up points or problematic things that will taint my view on this movie but i dont want that to ruin my own experience

and for me, this was truly emotionally draining and fulfilling. the feeling of being in that theatre with all those people who love the characters as much as i do and experiencing this film for the first time is something i will never forget. 

people talk about how they remember lining up for star wars.

well i remember sobbing my eyes out when nat died, cheering along with everyone when cap picked up mjolnir and whipped thanos’s ass with it and when carol and the rest of the badass women of the mcu ready to kick ass, crying with everyone as the light went out in tony’s chest and eyes, watching as history was made in front of our eyes.

and the end credits with the og avengers getting recognition with their photos and autographs. 

i love this franchise and these films and these characters i dont know who i would be without them.

Chapter 9

We are informed that Caliborn may have taken some creative liberties. In pretty much as many words. Nevertheless, from John’s perspective, it is indeed true that Caliborn traps him and the three other beta kids in the house juju - for ‘quadrillions of years’, ‘from the outside perspective’.

Chapter 10

Jane POV chapter. She gets the news that she’ll be running against Karkat. She’s not terribly happy.

She also keeps thinking in really eugenic ways like ‘stock’, and correcting herself on the level of words and not like, actual principle lol.

We learn a little more about Dave’s politics: he’s against “neoliberal austerity measures”, whose phrasing suggests like, either a Keynesian or a socdem type approach...

Anyway, to ensure her victory, and make sure a troll couldn’t preside over the first generation of troll reproduction (no that’s not my gloss, she actually goes and says that in the narration!), Jane calls up Jake to try and win over his endorsement.

She certainly doesn’t have any sudden desire to fuck him in this timeline.

Chapter 11

John was apparently not aware of the whole ‘house juju’ plan, because he’s moping about being trapped in it.

The beta kids can at least talk to each other through the walls of the house, but it’s hard to hear. They can also hear the battle taking place outside - apparently in real time.

John can’t really talk to them very easily, so he starts thinking about, what else, his own massive depression. Hey, been there. Terezi, he reckons, would have helped - pushed him to live a bit.

Chapter 12

Oh hell yes it’s time for Dave to monologue about economics.

Basically Dave’s a classic socdem, and he sees what Jane’s aiming for as an appeal to ‘supply-side economics’ favouring tax cuts which, it’s alleged, create economic growth.

He points to their own inadequacy to the task, and continues to hero-worship Obama:

DAVE: which is fine i mean you cant really expect a bunch of teens who didnt finish middle school to set up a sustainable form of social democracy that isnt just blatantly ripped off whatever we incorrectly thought obama god rest his soul was doing back in the day

That’s certainly a take...

Anyway Dave says they’ve merely been ‘playacting capitalism’ the last five thousand years, but he anticipates Jane will try to restrict the use of grist alchemy to stimulate ‘growth’ - a move which Dave anticipates would lead immediately to a communist movement, or possibly a clown dictatorship.

In an echo of her role in ‘Candy’, Jade inserts a sexual innuendo to Karkat’s massive discomfort, but Dave manages to blow it off before it can get too awkward.

Jade wants to get them together just as much in this timeline. But she instead tells them about the Laffer curve, which you’d think Dave would know about given his whole presentation, but the narration treats as a foreign concept to him.

Quick summary: the Laffer curve is a fancy name for the relationship between tax rate and government revenue. Set the tax rate to zero, you obviously get no taxes; set the tax rate to 100%, and nobody has any money after the first year of taxation, so there’s no economic activity and the revenue thereafter is once again zero. By a theorem calculus, if we assume the relation between tax rate and revenue makes a continuous curve, there must be a value in between these two extremes which maximises government revenue. So far so good... only economists can’t agree on what the actual Laffer curve looks like, or where exactly this peak might be. Reagan justified his program of tax cuts by claiming that the US was on the right hand side of the Laffer curve, so reducing taxes would increase government revenue.

tl;dr: Jane == Reagan, economically, got it?

Anyway we’re not really here for economics, we’re here for... shipping. This time, instead of weird sexually-assaulty boundary-pushing moves to jujitsu them into admitting feelings, Jade just... straight up talks about it.

Karkat is not prepared for this conversation, oh no... we get quadrants, god tier bullshit, it’s exactly as chaotic as a conversation about relationships with the people who invented the penis ouija should be.

But despite the heavy davekat teasing... not yet.

Chapter 13

And now we’re “the true hero of this tale” - Vriska, who appears to have taken over the narration. Back to second person again.

This is Vriska on maximum arrogance - proud of all the people she hurt, including her alternate self. Unfortunately she gets caught in the head by a sharp piece of spacetime.

Head wounds are serious business. Call an ambula -- ah. Well. I asked my girlfriend, who knows more about first aid than me, what to do when you have a head injury, there are no hospitals or ambulances because you’re fighting Lord English in paradox space and there’s a giant black hole. She said it would be very hard to diagnose the severity of a head injury on Vriska because the diagnostic criteria ask whether they’re acting like a DICChead, but then we established there would also be considerable danger to the first aider from the giant black hole, reality collapsing, and Lord English, and as such they should make these safe before attempting first aid.

Vriska gets pulled into the giant black hole - which we now know will dump her in the ‘non-canon’ universe of the Candy story.

That’s the end of Epilogue 2. Phew.

Epilogue 2, in summary

I expected the Lord English confrontation. Candy had informed us that Vriska would be forced to leave the battlefield early.

I did not expect the extensive discussion of taxation rates.

anyways, so they are two best buddos and one of them is really cute with his wife, i wanna say josh but it might actually be tyler.. i think wife’s name starts with a j, like jenna or jess, and theyre like really cute #relationship #goals, like best friends in love, so that is real cool and nice! (and i also know tyler has 3 younger sibs, but u are also the only reason i know this so i wont go into that )

and idk their type of music, like.. i wanna say alternative, but that is a pretty easy generalization lol. i know one song was a vid of one of them strumming a ukulele and singing on his ownsome to increasingly bigger groups, i think i reblogged it like 500 years ago without knowing who it was, but i have since remembered/recognized it, (also i think it was a cover of i cant help falling in love with u)

and their fandom is relatively smol i think, like 1d really is an anomaly compared to the rest of bandom, in terms of the amount/variety of fanworks created, even for bands i thought were really famous and stuffs it’s like way different? (i was curiously googling panic! and fob’s fandoms the other night actually and 21p popped up a few times as like a crossover thing with them, which i thought was interesting, tho i dont know how much theyre actually linked irl?)

anyways, being a smaller fandom is probos not a bad thing tho! i imagine its got a bit more cozier, intimate feel and in an ideal world there’d be an awful lot less drama too, so i hope that is the case.

i also think that 21p fanworks are less likely taken for granted bc theyre more rare, like i feel like fans are more likely to leave comments than jsut a like or a kudos, yunno? bc they really appreciate every bit they get :)

psych centers around unofficial (im p sure? cos gus also worked at a pharmaceutical company too) detectives and life long (as shown by lots of flashbacks) bffs shawn and gus, the latter of whom shawn always comes up with super ridiculous fake names for when theyre interviewing witnesses and whatnot (his name is actually burton guster tho), but that was one of the running gags

psych is a fairly light crime show, like theres murder mysteries and whatnot, but theres also lots of good banter between the leads (esp shawn n gus) and jokes and

and their main dealio is that shawn is a psychic, even tho he actually is Not, hes just extremely observant and (sometimes) smart, and gus is in on the con too, and they work for the police station together, and theres also a cop named lassy except thats not rlly his name its a nickname but i dont rmr his actual one, and his partner julia/jules, who was in a very slow build romance with shawn over the like.. 5? 7? seasons it had, it was a good big amount, & i think it had a very good build and character development n stuff bc of that, i get the feeling it was lucky enough to have a natura run of things, im pretty sure it wasnt cancelled when it ended,like it got to do everything it wanted with the storylines n stuff before it decided to wrap up? and there was a lot of different stuff in the episodes, they werent all just typical solving mystery stuffs

but fandom wise again, i think itd be quite small in terms of fanworks produced about it? it doesnt rlly seem like the type of show to have much fanfiction written about, altho im willing to bet that shawn and gus, like any pairing involving a black guy and a white guy, dont get shipped together hardly at all despite all their screen time and chemistry together. (and yes ik julia/shawn canon, but thats never stopped shippers before, so.) actually i bet shawn and lassie are one of the bigger pairings in fanfic, tho again, i dont think psych would have much in the way of that somehow?

anyways, i rmr it was goofy but enjoyable, and there were lots of episodes that made homages to other things, actually i think im gonna go try2 find an ep to watch rn tbhh, except Not on netflix anymore i guess !
