"I asked you a question", Din says through gritted teeth, clearly not impressed by the warloard as he points his blaster directy at the man laying on the ground in front of him. After you have successfully taken over Moff Gideon's light cruiser with your newly found team, you were finally met with that inkling of hope that was lost for so long. You were sure that, this time, you won. Except you didn't.
"Call back your darktroopers or I won't hesitate to pull the trigger!", you shout at Gideon, almost pitying his slumped figure on the cold surface. The once great Moff Gideon, holder of the darksaber, military leader in charge of the remnents of the Galactic Empire, huddled on the floor, right to your feet. You would almost believe he is scared, almost, if it were not for the slight twitch pulling at the corner of his mouth. Because despite of him being defenseless, vulnerable and alone, he somehow still managed to pull one last ace up his sleeve and take you by surprise. The surprise that is currently waiting to charge through the blast doors, the last layer of protection that saves you from your fate.
"Everyone in this room will be dead but me. And the child", Gideon says with a sparkle in his eyes, trying to find a comfortable position with his hands cuffed.
"I will ask you. One. Last. Time. What do you need Grogu for?", Din interjects, ignoring his threat as he keeps his blaster pointed at him. Even though you can't see his face through his helmet, it is clear that this time he expects an honest answer or he will definitely not hold back. He has grown too fond of Grogu to not get to know why Gideon wants to capture him so badly or what he did to the small child.
And while Din waits for him to think of an answer that won't have him blast his head off, Gideon's eyes lock with yours and it is in that moment that you feel a shift, seeing a change in his face that you can't quite interpret. The answer he gives is not what you expected at all.
"Maybe you should ask your friend here, not me."
Immediately, you take a wavering step back, lowering your blaster while Din slowly turns to look in your direction, his whole posture screaming at you to explain what tiny piece of information Moff Gideon just dropped your way. "What?"
Bo-Katan, Koska and Fennec, all aiming their own blasters at the door, shift their attention to you now as well, ignoring the loud noises created by the darktroopers trying to come through. You can only stare at Gideon, however, and if he wasn't your only way to get out of here alive, you would have put an end to this already. The knowing grin on his face frightens you because it tells you he knows everything. About what you did, about your past, and, above all, about the darkness hovering over it.
"What does he mean by that, Y/N?", Din wants to know, a twist audible in his voice as well now. He does not trust you right now and if you were in his spot, you wouldn't trust yourself either. You have been on this journey together for a long time already, your only interest being the safety of the child, and yet you managed to keep your biggest secret hidden from him. There are things he doesn't need to and simply shouldn't know about you.
"Y/N is very well acquainted with what I did. I would even go as far as to say that we were once considered allies", Gideon answers for you as you can't come up with any rational explanation, too occupied by what is going on in your mind.
"That's not true! Don't- Don't listen to him. I was never on your side, Gideon", you immediately interrupt as you comprehend his accusation, turning to Din who does not know what or whom to believe anymore. His partner, who lied to him since day one, or his enemy, who just revealed the secret that has been haunting you since forever.
"Tell them the truth then, Twelfth Sister."
As soon as the words leave Gideon's mouth, Bo-Katan suddenly points one of her blasters directly at you, no hesitation in her movement at all. However, you can't even concentrate on the deadly weapon aimed at you as you feel like the ground beneath your feet opens up, causing you to fall into the deep depths full of sorrow, darkness and pain that you ran away from for so long. And the fact that Grogu, sitting at one of the consoles next to you, coos at all of this, does not make it any better.
Silence fills the room as everyone slowly but surely comprehends the meaning behind Moff Gideon's words. What he called you, Twelfth Sister, is a title you have not been addressed by in a long, long time and you desperately wish it stayed that way.
"Shut up! Shut up, shut up, shut up!", you scream at Gideon, your heart beating so fast it hurts. With trembling hands and legs you take a step closer to him, wanting him to not say another word ever again but as soon as you move from your spot, you are faced with another blaster barrel.
However this time it is Din who points his weapon right at you, stopping you dead in your tracks as you feel like you can't get enough air to breathe. The realization has hit him after all.
"N-No! Please, you need to listen to me! I-"
"You are an Inquisitor?", Din asks, not a single hint in his voice as to how he feels, how disappointed he has to be in you. On the one hand, you want him to scream at you, shout at you for keeping this from him, but on the other hand you want him to be able to forgive you, even though you know that what you did is inexcusable.
Since you have no clue how to put everything you want to say in words at once, you only manage to nod, lowering your head as you feel ashamed of yourself. You are waiting for the shot to hit you and when it doesn't, you look up at Din who has not moved.
"Why?", is all he says, staring at you through his helmet. You swear you feel your heart breaking at how he pronounces this one seemingly harmless word.
"I- I don't know. I didn't want all of this to happen. The one second I fight alongside an army of clones, the next I kill all of them and mourn over my dead master", you explain, the memories tormenting you. "They took me. They took me and tortured me until there was nothing left of who I was or what I fought for. They broke me."
You spit out the last part, feeling the anger spark inside of you. Closing your eyes, you feel the panic chase off the anger as you can physically feel the pain they sent you through once more. You sink to your knees, supporting yourself with your hands on the ground, tears in your eyes. They will always have control over you.
"Inquisitors chased down and killed all of the remaining Jedi. You abducted force-sensitive children!", Bo-Katan reminds you of your all-too-real deeds and you can't help but feel bile rise up your throat, making you cough.
"I did.. bad things and each time, it killed me a little more. But when they wanted me to kidnap a child, I didn't. It was then that I noticed it wasn't my way", you say quietly, trying to stand up for yourself about the only thing you did right and that you can be proud of. Because you disobeyed. Because you turned your back on them. Because you left.
"I can't believe you", Din mutters, his voice sounding coarse.
"I promise you it's not who I am anymore!", you try to convince him, all of them actually, but you know it is to no use. Which does not mean you won't try to change their view because, at last, you were a victim too. "Why do you think I am here? Because I made it my task, my purpose, to protect these children! I don't want anyone to experience what I had to. I even killed one of my so-called sisters! I turned against them."
Breathing heavily, you need a few seconds to cope with your emotional outburst, letting your words sink into their heads while you are trying to hold back the tears that threaten to spill. But you don't let them because you have shown weakness too many times before. After all, the dark side was only able to overpower you back then because it caught you at your weakest moment, using it to its advantage, turning your despair into pure hatred.
"Please, you have to believe me", you breathe out, your voice breaking in the end as you stare at Din and Din only. You don't care what the others think, you don't care if they will ever forgive you as long as Din does. You get lost in the darkness of his visor as you keep staring at him intently, waiting for any kind of reaction but he just won't budge.
Because you can only see him in this moment what you do notice, however, is how Moff Gideon pulls a blaster out of nowhere, points it at Din and fires a shot without hesitation. Suddenly, you feel transported back to that one fateful day when you lost everything. When your clones, your friends, turned against you. When you lost the only person you ever really cared for.
All intent on not letting fate repeat itself, you reach for the Force and feel the familiar tingle in your fingertips. Within seconds, you stop the deadly projectile mid-air. And even though it takes all your effort and concentration, you still somehow manage to use the Force to push Din out of the line of fire, causing him to slitter his feet across the floor.
It feels like time is slowing down as you slowly walk towards Gideon and, as soon as he fires another shot at you, you parry it with the Darksaber in your hand. Shock and terror are written all over his face before you finally reach him, kick the blaster out of his hands and put the deadly blade to his throat.
"I will not let you hurt the people I love", you spit out, looking directly into his panic-filled eyes. Apparently he did not expect you to still be this powerful after all these years of not using the Force at all and, although you have to admit that you could have blocked thousands of those shots back then when it took all of your strength to defend one now, you felt good. The Force, the light side, came back to you as if it was never gone. Considering that you were still a child yourself when Order 66 happened, never completing your Jedi training, your powers have grown exponentially.
"You don't deserve to be kept alive-"
"Y/N-", Din wants to interrupt, but you continue anyway.
"But I have changed. I am no Inquisitor, I am a Jedi", you say, feeling relief as the final truth leaves your mouth, making it finally seem real. "You will face trial and you will be locked away for life so you will never be able to hurt anyone again."
"You forget that you are still on my ship, with my troopers waiting to kill all-"
"And you will kindly call them back and shut them down right now or..", you threaten, looking at the Darksaber that is terribly close to his throat. You don't show that it actually lays extremely heavy in your hands, not only because it is a unique weapon, but also because it is not yours. Your own lightsaber is buried on Felucia, where no one will ever find it.
Gideon huffs in annoyance but considering that you are only millimeters away from slicing the Darksaber through his throat, he finally gives in and follows your command. The sound of the dangerous killing machines switching off outside the blast doors echoes throughout the bridge and as soon as you are certain that all of them are down, you knock Gideon out with the butt of the lightsaber hilt, sending him to the floor unconsciously.
As soon as he hits the ground, your legs give in underneath you and you slump in, letting the blade dissolve before tossing the weapon as far away from you as you possibly can. Tears stream down your face as all the burden you carried around all those years finally falls off you, allowing you to breathe once more. You know they are all watching you as you feel all their eyes on you but no one dares to say a single word.
That is, until Grogu peeps out from where he was hiding, slowly waddling towards you while cooing. You can't help but smile at him and you feel incredibly grateful that at least one of them has not lost faith in you.
"Grogu", Din calls out strictly as he wants to come even closer to you.
"It's fine. I would never hurt him", you promise and don't even dare to look in his direction, concentrating to look at Grogu's big doe eyes only. That is why you don't see how Din silently gives the others commands and they start shuffling behind you, opening the doors to the disabled droids in order to destroy them one by one.
Din's shadow hovers over you as you wrap your arms around your own waist, not looking at him, too scared of what he might say. One of Grogu's small hands touches your knee as he keeps cooing at you and you can sense that he feels sorry for you. He knows the pain of being seperated from the family you once considered your home.
Hearing a rustling, you hold your breath as Din squats down in front of you, taking Grogu in his arms as if to protect him. If this is the last time you see him, you tell yourself, you at least want to look at him one more time and so you do.
And you feel like you can't breathe when you see him holding out his hand to you, wanting to save you.
"I'm sorry", he whispers through his helmet and you can hear the sorrow in his voice now, strong and clear.
"No, I have to be the one apologizing. I betrayed you and I don't know how you could ever trust me again", you disregard his words and shake your head, feeling so incredibly ashamed of yourself for what you did. Lowering your head and hiding your face in your hands, you can't stop the tears from falling as all those memories come back to you, laughing directly in your face.
But when you suddenly get pulled forward and feel warm hands around you, you open your eyes only to find yourself in Din's - and also Grogu's - arms. He presses you against him, his hand on the back of your head as if we will never let you go.
"It's not your fault, none of it", Din speaks to you, sounding so sure about what he says that it makes your heart beat faster. "You saved us, Y/N."
"I don't deserve your kindness. How can you forgive me? After everything I have done?", you ask, pushing yourself an arm's length away from him so your face is only inches away from his.
"I already forgave you", he concludes, resting his forehead against yours. "But I think it's time that you finally forgive yourself."

Writing about that episode doesn't help you, in fact it only makes you go through a trauma that will probably never pass, you will never heal, you can live with, but never feel better. It'd be like saying that the loss of your whole family, your friends, your Planet is nothing and that's not possible, it's unacceptable.
"NK - 841," you call it.
You close the book Nanuk gave you to write down your thoughts and memories and put it back in the shelf above your bed, get up and look out the porthole: deep space surrounds you, the stars are all around you. You wonder where you are going, you get up and walk to the cockpit where the other member of your meager crew, the robot NK - 841, is in the pilot's seat and is leading you in an unknown direction to you.
"Yes, Princess?" he says in a metallic voice.
"To a safe place." it only tells you, he doesn't add anything else.
"Where are we going?"
You feel bewildered, uneasy, you go back to Nanuk who is consulting the star maps, he has a beleaguered, almost tense expression, "Nanuk?" you call him "Trouble?"
"No, you're there too!" you point out.
He looks up from the star map on the screen "Princess." he greets you "I wish I could say no, but I might as well just be honest." you nod "You're the only Arkanian still alive." he begins.
You lower your gaze.
He smiles sarcastically "I meant the last of the pure and noble blood of Arkanian civilization."
"What do you know about the New Republic?" he asks, turning fully toward you.
You're confused, you've never heard of this, Nanuk continues, "What about the Galactic Empire?" your expression becomes more and more confused and screwy, you don't know what to answer. You have always been raised as a princess, in the comforts, surrounded by your greatest affections, the pampering of your mother's various handmaids who watched you grow up, you know nothing about politics.
"It's okay, princess." the man continues "Sit next to me." he tells you by making a seat appear next to his on which you sit "Many galactic years ago, the Galactic Empire, an ancient military and political power best known for its dictatorship, sowed death and destruction in every corner of space, to stop their vicious rule, a resistance known as the Rebel Alliance was formed to militarily oppose the Empire and to preserve the ideals of the Galactic Republic. " he explains to you "After the Battle of Endor, the New Republic was formed whose capital is never on the same Planet."
"And why?" you ask puzzled.
"Well, they wanted to prevent one Planet from feeling more powerful than the other," he replies.
"And so... I don't understand what this has to do with me, the Republic, the Empire...I'm a little confused." you admit, clutching the armrests of the chair.
"Relax, child." he says smiling at you "Your father recently left the Planet, you know that, right?" you nod "Do you know why?"
"I heard him telling my mother to trade part of our gems for metals and whatnot," you reply.
"And who was that?" you ask him.
Nanuk smiles, "That's not quite right. I was there and yes there was this barter, but your father met with some of the Rebel Alliance military command, including the head of covert operations."
"Well, I don't know, I know he goes by the name Fulcrum, but that's all I know," he tells you in a sigh "Anyway, your father joined the Alliance and-"
"I don't understand." you interrupt him "We are a peaceful Planet, we didn't need alliances or covert operations." you say starting to gesture.
"The covert operation is called the Arkanan Blossom." he says looking you straight in the eyes making your heart flutter "And that operation involves the arrival of the Blossom on Planet Ajan Kloss where the planet's representative in the Imperial Senate and Superior is located. That's all I know."
"And we are going there?" you ask him feeling very nervous.
"I can't do it alone. I need someone who knows the Galaxy, who knows how to protect you, and I-"
"But you saved me! Who better than you...!" you're about to say.
He smiles, "I have no weapons. This ship has no weapons on board, it's a ship made for the purpose of protecting you Princess, but nothing else." he explains.
"So where are we going? And who are we going to ask for help?"
"We're going to Coruscant and there we're going to ask for a person." he answers you vaguely, going back to looking at the star map on the screen.
Your traveling companion - NK - 841 - keeps you a lot of company at the end it has become almost a friend, or a sort of. Nanuk and the robot are the only ones you trust. Without them you wouldn't know what to do or where to go.
You have never made interplanetary travel, you are not used to it and in fact you are sick. You are constantly throwing up. According to Nanuk it also depends on the change in gravitational pressure from one Planet to another. You travel for what it feels like months, years. Actually yours is an eight-week journey. During these weeks you search the computers for everything you can find about the New Republic, the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. Your head is bursting. This is another effect of the different gravitational pressure according to the man but, you think, depends on the considerable amount of information you're trying to make your own in a short time.
You wouldn’t trust anyone else.
Tumblr media
"Are you sure it's the right place?" you ask him hesitantly.
Coruscant is a very different planet from yours. In fact, when the spacecraft lands, an immense city presents itself to your eyes, which has been building and renewing itself for thousands and thousands of years, according to Nanuk. There is no green area, there are no animals or plants. You look towards Nanuk looking for security in his eyes, it arrives immediately thanks to his reassuring look and his warm smile, then you hear him ask permission to land, permission which is immediately agreed upon. The runway almost seems to collapse on your approach and the spacecraft appears to be almost sucked into a dark gorge. You find yourself nervously shaking Nanuk's hand looking at you tenderly, "It's okay, Princess." he repeats to you over and over until you relax next to him.
Before opening, the man checks that the air is breathable for you too and after having ascertained this, he opens the hatch and, as soon as you set foot on the platform, three spaceships suspended in mid-air immediately surround you from which sapphire-blue beings emerge asking you what business brings you there. Nanuk speaks, while two of these strange creatures watch you and your companion. When the creatures calm down about your presence, they move away from you by boarding the ships and disappear at the speed of light.
"Yes. He's always around here. We are looking for a place where travelers can drink or eat after long journeys, someone will have seen it or maybe he will be the one to show up." he replies encouragingly.
"Can NK – 841 also come with us?" you ask him by turning slightly and noticing that the robot had followed you some distance away.
Nanuk turns, "All right, come NK – 841." then the robot reaches you and immediately stands by your side, you smile even if you know it can't smile back or rejoice.
All three of you climb onto a huge disk surrounded by sheets of ice which then, once inside, close and then climb. You observe in amazement the many buildings that present themselves to your eyes, the multitude of creatures that live and work around you. It's a completely different world than yours.
Once you arrive, the ice sheets open, allowing you to enter an immense corridor with blue and white colours, on the sides there are dozens of doors from which as many dozens of strange-looking and colored creatures enter and exit. All this makes you press against Nanuk almost scared.
"It's okay, child. Nobody wants to hurt you, they're all engaged in trade, see?" the man tells you by pointing to the various funny characters from one side of the corridor to the other, exchanging small or large wooden, metal and other objects crates.
Finally, you arrive in a room with a vaulted ceiling made up of many topaz-colored glass that makes the place of yellow and ocher colors shine. Inside there are some diners, none have a vaguely human appearance. There's only one that reminds you of a human being, or almost. Or maybe you're wrong, I mean, you can't see his face, he's from behind, what's clear is that he's wearing a helmet and a cloak.
"Wait here, sit down." Nanuk tells you "NK – 841 stay with her." he adds and then walks away towards the creature, who knows maybe it's a droid!
You sit and watch the man talk to the thing, you can't hear what they say to each other. You just look worriedly at your robot friend "I hope everything is fine." you whisper, the robot turns towards you, but the only answer it gives you are beep beep sounds and you smile if you think the only company is this robot, Nanuk and probably another robot that now is watching you, it has already done it at least three times and it's making you nervous. Is this a good sign? Why did Nanuk say we need him? For weapons? Do you have one?
You find yourself swallowing.
The android turns back to Nanuk who is talking, you see him. You have no idea what they are saying to each other, could it be that this android is also a trader? If so, what kind of negotiation does Nanuk want to do? Nanuk hasn't told you exactly why you need him, but you are getting impatient and are about to walk toward them, when it's Nanuk who walks back toward you and the android turns his back on you again.
"What's going on?" you ask him worriedly making your gaze linger on the mysterious being.
"It's all right, we'll go with him," he replies.
"Um, wait what about our spacecraft? Why? Who is it?" you are increasingly confused.
"Princess, our spacecraft can't travel for much longer in hyperspace, but his" alludes to the android's spaceship "can," he answers your first question.
"And why should it help us? Who is it to us? Is it one of our allies -- someone who owes a debt to my father…?" you ask still puzzled.
"He…" he's about to answer you, but suddenly a commotion is heard that makes all the diners raise their heads, dust begins to fall from the ceiling "They're already here," Nanuk says "quick," he adds grabbing your hand abruptly and pulling you away.
The diners escape by disappearing behind various doors, you two - followed by your robot friend - enter the same door you entered through, you and Nanuk run, but you don't head for your spacecraft but, once you enter the corridor, you take the first door to the left, you find yourself on an airstrip/takeoff, you seek Nanuk's gaze, who instead pulls out what looks like a weapon "What's that?" you ask frightened "But who are we running from? What's going on, Nanuk?"
Suddenly strange white-armored creatures start firing at you, "Run!" shouts Nanuk as he resumes running and from time to time turns to fire toward those mysterious beings, "Don't stop, run!" he exclaims as he stops.
"NANUK!" you call to him, "What are you doing?"
"Princess, it has been an honor to serve you and your family," he says looking fleetingly into your eyes "I saw you being born and would have liked to have seen you arrive at your destination, NK - 841 from now on you answer only to her." you look at him frightened "Now run, I will hold them off as long as I can. The spaceship is up ahead. Go,"
"But--" you are about to say.
"Go!" he shouts and then turns to face those creatures that are incessantly firing at you, you see nothing else because you turn your head and run, you see green laser beams hitting the earth a short distance from you, dust rising, you run, but you don't know where since you see nothing. The spaceship Nanuk was talking about is not there.
"It won't stop," replies a cavernous voice.
You are almost at the end of your strength when a spaceship appears from above, you stop, breathless. The spaceship with a puff opens the hatch to allow you to enter which you immediately do. You don't know if it's the right one, you don't know if you've done it right, but you get in, indeed both you and NK - 841 get in. When you are inside, the hatch closes and the spaceship leaves, you watch the earth move farther and farther away from you, you see Nanuk over there.
You see him fighting again and again, he's always been a fighter, but now he's alone. Alone against dozens of those white beings, you lean your hands on the porthole and watch, that's all you can do. You almost scream when you see one of those laser beams pierce him, "No, no, no, NANUK!" you scream clapping your hands against the porthole, "How do you stop this thing?" you almost scream looking around and looking for levers or switches, but there is nothing.
When you turn around, you realize you are on the right spaceship with the strange thing on board.

Dincember Day 1: Snow
Din Djarin x GN!Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word Count: 4825 Rating: General Content warnings: None! Summary: After a busy few months working for the New Republic, Din surprises you and Grogu with a well-earned retreat to a snowy paradise in the run up to Life Day. Snow-filled chaotic fluff and fun ensues! Author's note: This one sort of spiralled out of control in terms of word count and I did research into SW lore which I doubt I'll do every day, but I enjoyed it! I love browsing Wookieepedia like a big ol' nerd. The city visited is from a video game and the entry can be found here if anyone is interested in that kind of thing. Anyway, hope you enjoyed day one and thanks for reading :D

Tumblr media
When Din told you to pack warm clothes for a mystery destination, you were curious about what exactly laid in store on the upcoming trip he had been carefully planning for the two of you to take with Grogu. It had been a busy few months for Din, his frequent assignments with the New Republic, where he was tasked with eliminating Imperial remnants, had kept him away from you for considerable periods. Recently, whispers of Thrawn’s return had swirled and eventually reached fever pitch. The rumours terrified you, but you knew that with someone like Din working to keep the peace, the fate of the galaxy could not be in safer hands. Nor could your future, as it happened. With Din by your side, you felt a sense of security that was incredibly comforting. You knew regardless of what he had planned for you, a surprise trip like this after such a stressful period was an incredibly thoughtful gesture from a thoroughly kind man.
Life Day was rapidly approaching and Din had promised to whisk you away for a trip somewhere in the galaxy. Where exactly, you did not know. But if you had to hazard a guess, you would not be heading to the deserts of Tatooine, given his instructions to pack for chilly climes. You eagerly bounced around the small cabin the two of you shared on Nevarro, packing your warmest clothes. The warm climate of the lava-covered planet you now called home meant that you had to search the deepest depths of your drawers, but eventually you found hats, scarves and warm woolly mittens that would be perfect for cold weather.
Your entire body was buzzing with excitement as you packed your bag, eagerly anticipating the quality time you would get to spend with Din and Grogu. Din had made it clear when the two of you had met, that the very nature of his line of work would be unpredictable and keep him away from you for long periods at short notice. You knew he hated the fact that his work kept him away from you so frequently just as much as you did, so, you reasoned, there was no point in making him feel guilty. With this trip, you knew that he was more than going to make up for it. You felt slightly guilty about how much you were sure he would spoil you with some of the credits he had earned. But Din Djarin was not remotely materialistic man; the safety and happiness of his loved ones mattered far more to him than any wealth he could accumulate.
So, as you headed out of your cabin the following morning and departed in the ship Din had borrowed from Greef Karga to accomodate you too - his N-1 was too small - you were practically bursting from excitement. But that excitement soon faded once the realities of travelling through the monotiny that was a seemingly never-ending hyperspace dawned upon you. Once the thrill of seeing the rushing blue and white hues outside the window had worn off, you found yourself thoroughly bored. Grogu was sound asleep in the corner of the cockpit, so for entertainment, you decided to interrogate Din in an attempt to ascertain hints as to your destination.
"So… it's cold…?" You mused. Din sat in the seat next to you, his armour illuminated by the multicoloured buttons of the various control panels, "Outer-Rim?" You questioned, watching for any signs that your words were having an impact.
But he did not move an inch, his arms remained folded, his breathing even. This man was impossible to read. But you were not going to give up.
"Fine… Mid-Rim?" You asked.
"I told you. It's a surprise," Din huffed.
You chuckled at how annoyed he sounded. It wasn't as though narrowing down the vast regions to several thousand planets rather than several hundred thousand would make much of a difference. But Din was stubborn. And you loved him for it. You had intended to continue pestering him, but you listened in astonishment when, a few minutes later, you heard the even breaths that indicated your favourite Mandalorian had fallen asleep. You weren't far behind him. It passed the time, after all.
After a long day of travelling you finally arrived at your destination, a place Din informed you once he had landed that was, in fact, the capital of Corellia: the bustling Coronet City.
You had been slightly confused about Din’s instructions to pack for the cold when you exited the ship in Coronet City. You did not see snow or any indication of frigid temperatures. But you couldn't dawdle to muse on it because you had to keep up with Din in the crowd.
As the two of you made your way through the spaceport, you put your hand out as if to offer a hand to Din to help with the heavy bags he was carrying, containing the warm clothes you had packed for the trip. But rather than hand one of the bags to you, your stubborn Mandalorian grunted and shifted the weathered satchel to his other hand. You were momentarily confused; you opened your mouth, intending to offer him a hand. But then you felt the explanation. Your heart melted when you felt the pillowy leather of his well-worn gloves as he held your hand in his. The warm presence of his large hand caused a shiver to spread down your spine.
You looked down at the little green child who nestled happily in your arms; Grogu was taking in all the new sights and sounds with his wide brown eyes and long green ears. So, you decided to take a look around for yourself. You noticed how underdressed everyone appeared to be, compared to what you had been expecting. The planet did not seem to be nearly so chilly as to make the warm clothes you had packed necessary. As if he could sense your confusion, Din finally informed you of his plans.
“If you hadn't already gathered, Coronet City isn’t actually our final stop,” Din explained as the two of you walked through the busy terminus, weaving between locals and tourists alike who had travelled to Corellia for the holiday season. The planet seemed to be at capacity. You were glad you were holding hands with Din, so the two of you did not get separated. “We’re heading up to the mountains. I thought it would be nice for Grogu to experience some snow. Since Nevarro has such a warm climate, it seemed like the perfect place.”
“Oh, Din… that sounds perfect.” You smiled up at him, “Grogu will love it, won’t you, buddy?” You took Grogu’s purr as you leaned down to address him directly as an indication that the child agreed. Din squeezed your hand tightly, appreciative that you were seemingly so excited by his plans.
You had no idea where you were heading, following Din’s lead as you placed your trust in him entirely, just as you always did. Excitement was not the only emotion you felt, though. There was the smug part of you, too, enjoying the assured feeling you had that, no matter how many heads this Mandalorian in his gleaming, unpainted beskar’gam was turning in this spaceport… that he was all yours. And yours alone.
Eventually, you seemingly reached the platform from which you would board the shuttle as Din led you off the main hall of the spaceport, ascending steps to the landing platform. At the top of the stairs was a screen which gave you the name of your final destination: Doaba Guerfel. The name meant nothing to you, but you had no time to dwell on it as Din dropped your hand and struggled with the heavy bags through the shuttle's door.
“I would have helped you, you know,” You informed Din with a smirk. He finally took a seat after placing the luggage on a shelf above the seats. “Rather than you struggling along with those heavy bags because we were holding hands.”
“I know.” Din nodded, “But I’ll never not want to hold your hand.”
Your heart melted for the second time in quick succession. How could this man, known throughout the galaxy for the ruthlessness with which he had once apprehended bounties and now applied those same talents in his work for the New Republic, actually be this soft and caring underneath that hard, Beskar shell? You didn’t think there was anyone else in the galaxy quite like Din Djarin. You were certain of that, in fact.
You passed Grogu to Din and felt yourself smile at his happy coo. The child sat contentedly on his father's lap, peering out of the window as the shuttle departed and flew over the buildings of Coronet City and towards the mountains that loomed on the horizon. You were still some distance away, but you could see that they were covered in snow. You felt your stomach dancing with excitement; it looked like a secluded paradise. Which, as it transpired, was exactly what this town – nestled amongst mountains – was. Din was always so curious about the galaxy around him, respectful and eager to learn about other planets and their language and culture. So of course, it made sense that he had done research when selecting this destination.
“Our destination, as you probably gathered, is a quaint mountainous town called Doaba Guerfel… The mountains you can see are called the Nomad Mountains and the town itself used to be known as Nomad’s Retreat. It’s incredibly secluded, so I thought it would be a perfect retreat for our little family,” Din explained, gesturing out of the window to the mountains the shuttle was hurtling towards. “The town invests heavily in restoration and protection of the wilderness around here. Apparently, the flora and fauna found here in such an abundance that is rare anywhere else throughout the galaxy. I doubt we'll be able to see much given the time of year. But I thought it was nice that the residents here care about their surroundings.”
“It looks beautiful from here already. I can’t wait to explore it with you.” You said, smiling at Din and admiring the way the whiteness of the sky outside made his helmet so dazzlingly shiny.
“We’re renting a small cabin on the outskirts of the town.” Din said, as he turned to face you, adding honestly: “The locals here really tried to keep it as a safe haven from the rest of the galaxy, where others can come to rest and escape. I hope it’ll be the quiet, peaceful retreat that we both need.”
“I’m sure it will be, Din.” You nodded, “It sounds like you’ve put a great deal of thought into planning this for us. Thank you.”
“Anything for you, mesh’la. Apparently, it is the finest resort in all of Corellia,” Din said, reaching out to take your hand in his once again. He squeezed it, as he told you solemnly: “And you deserve only the finest things in the galaxy for putting up with me, with the stress and demands of being with someone like me.”
You were about to open your mouth to protest, that being with Din was not settling in any way. But you were prevented from doing so as the unmistakable robotic drone of a droid suddenly sounded through the cabin, informing passengers that you were approaching Doaba Guerfel. You looked over at Din, noticing the subtle way his fist had clenched around Grogu. Din’s disdain for droids was something that you had not understood when you had first met him, but now you were aware of his past… you had nothing but the deepest sympathy for him.
As you stepped off the shuttle and onto the frozen ground, your lips couldn’t help but curve into a slight smile. The crunch of the snow underneath your feet would never fail to bring back a childlike sense of wonderment inside you that seemed to have dwindled over the years. But that appreciation for the smallest things that you had thought lost as you grew older, was now being awakened once more, after having the privilege to see so much of the galaxy through Grogu’s eyes. It was like seeing everything for the first time, as you monitored the little boy’s wide brown eyes and expressions to check that he was enjoying himself. Fortunately, it seemed as though he was. Grogu seemed absolutely content as the three of you made your way down the main street of Doaba Guerfel.
The buildings were covered in lights and, combined with the dusting of snow that seemed present on every surface, it was the perfect winter scene. When Din informed you that you had arrived on Corellia, you had found yourself slightly disappointed. It was a name you were familiar with, most people had heard of the vast shipyards and subsequent fighter pilots that this planet located in the Core Worlds had produced over the years. You associated it with machinery, industrialisation… not natural beauty. But aside from those assumptions, you knew scant details of the planet.
Even if you had, nothing could have prepared you for the beauty of the picturesque mountain town that Din had chosen to bring you to.
You continued enjoying the sights until your earlier assumptions about Grogu’s contentment were shattered as an opporunity to beg for food arised. The three of you were walking towards a vendor situated at the side of the street. Whatever they were smelling had a sweet, enticing aroma and, right on cue, Grogu whined and reached his little arms out towards the stall. As you approached the throng of people waiting to get their hands on the sweet treat, you noticed they were hot Corellian Ryshcate. You had never had these particular delicacies before, but they appeared to be pastries of some kind.
You stopped at the side of the street so you and Grogu could enjoy the flaky pastries - Din would eat later, given that he was waiting for the privacy of the cabin you would be staying in to remove his helmet. As you took your first bite of the Ryshcate, your mouth was suddenly transported to a rich, indulgent heaven of sugary, buttery goodness. There were nuts and fruits baked into the flaky layers and you hummed contentedly as you savoured the sweet treat.
“Is it good?” Din asked, shifting his weight awkwardly from one leg to the other as he waited, excluded due to his Creed from this simple pleasure. You knew he would not have it any other way though. It didn't stop you, though, from wishing sometimes, for his own sake above all else, that he could join in and live more freely.
“Delicious, Din.” You said, bringing your hand to your mouth as you replied so you did not inadvertently cover him in a storm of pastry flakes. “We can come back and get some tomorrow, perhaps, take them back to the cabin?” You suggested, it would be a shame for him to miss out.
“Sure,” Din nodded, “I think Grogu would like that too.”
You giggled as you noticed that the Ryshcate that had been in Grogu’s hands seconds before was now nowhere to be seen. It was larger than his head, but that had not prevented the little boy with the voracious appetite from gulping down the pastry despite its warmth and size. Once you had also finished your Ryshcate, you continued making your way down the street, Din’s hand finding yours again despite the bags… you just shook your head affectionately at his stubbornness. As you took in the sights and sounds before you, you didn’t think that Din could have picked out a better place for you to visit. Everything from the scenery, to the festive, relaxing atmosphere was exactly what you had been hoping for. You were pleased that Din had told you a little about the history of this place on your journey here. Now that you were actually here, walking around Doaba Guerfel, you could appreciate it fully.
As you made your way further down the street, Din finally allowed you to carry your bag so he could hold Grogu. The extra weight of the bag and the exertion caused you to notice how your breath was hanging in front of you like a little cloud. The air was crisp and The Mandalorian next to you looked impossibly handsome in the environment. Given that he was still in his armour, it was quite a feat, but you loved him in his beskar’gam as much as you loved him out of it. The white snow that touched every corner of this secluded mountain paradise, caused the armour to dazzle. Din's presence was attracting more than a few eyes. But with one strong hand in yours and another arm holding Grogu protectively, it was clear that this particular Mandalorian already had a Clan of his own.
Towards the end of the main street, Din guided you down one of the side streets. There were various establishments of all kinds; from diners and cantinas and small family run businesses selling toys and antiques. Most of them had intricate window displays for Life Day and it seemed as though every corner of this town had been touched by festive cheer. It was infectious, you couldn’t stop smiling as you walked down the street at Din’s side.
At the end of the street, there was a footbridge which took you across the mountains to the next peak. Wherever Din was taking you seemed to be as far out of the town as one could get, but it made sense given Din’s need for privacy if he were to remove his helmet and relax on this trip. After walking across several similar smaller bridges – the place was somewhat of a maze and you wondered how Din was keeping track – you eventually reached the cabin that was to be your home for the next few days.
The cabin was made out of dark brown wood, with a dusting of white snow on the roof. It looked unbelievably cozy and welcoming, especially given the landscape that surrounded the cabin. The array of flora that Din had promised were here could be found in the trees dotted around the cabin. It was an idyllic escape, nestled between the Nomad Mountains on all sides. After entering your secluded cabin and unpacking a few items from bags - including your warmest coat, hat, scarf and gloves - you helped Grogu dress in a new coat that Din had purchased for this trip, before you took him outside. You had intended to help him to build a snow-wookiee while you waited for Din to change into something more suited for enjoying the snowy environment than his armour. The privacy afforded by this secluded cabin meant that Din could remove his helmet. You couldn’t wait to see him in his dressed down, relaxed form out here in this safe haven.
The sun was beginning to set, bathing the sky in a beautiful collection of oranges and reds. You willed Din to hurry up, you didn't want him to miss something as stunning. In the time you had spend appreciating the sunset, you found that your plans to help Grogu in building a snow-wookiee were to be unrealised. Before you could even begin gathering snow with the shovel that lay propped against the dark wooden exterior of the cabin for him to play with, the mischievous little boy had used the Force to build an enormous, fully formed snow-wookiee.
“Grogu, that’s cheating,” You said, crossing your arms and shaking your head at him, a wide smile on your face.
“Muh?” Grogu responded, almost offended that you weren’t impressed with his handiwork.
You heard the door of the cabin open behind you and turned around to finally lay eyes upon your favourite Mandalorian. Bathed in the fading golden light, he was mesmerising. Din was wearing a thick red coat, with a material that would protect him from all the elements in contrast to your more fashionable woollen one. He still had his gloves on, too. It was the only part of him familiar to the way he was dressed when you had arrived at the cabin. Din stood there, surveying the scene before him with the prowess of the trained hunter he was. He smiled softly when his eyes met yours. You knew your face had lit up when you had seen him, it was impossible for you not to react to his warm brown eyes, you saw your expression mirrored in his, especially when he looked around and appreciated Grogu’s snow-based creation.
“Great job, kid!” Din said proudly as he strode towards the two of you. He picked Grogu up and brought him close. Grogu cooed and reached out to place his hand on his father’s cheek, his way of giving his seal of approval that Din had removed his helmet.
It was a touching sight. But you had plans to disrupt the peace as you bent down and scooped fistfuls of snow, moulding them into a sphere. Without any warning, you lobbed the snowball in the direction of Din. You had truly only intended to hit him on the side of his head, but your aim was so poor that you inadvertently hit him square in the face. The warm brown eyes that you had enjoyed gazing into only moments before were the first feature of Din’s to be visible again, as he blinked away the snow that had coated his entire face.
“Oh, you’ll pay for that,” Din said, voice low as he set Grogu down.
You yelped and began to run away from him, but you didn’t make it far, before Din grabbed you by the wrist and brought his snow-covered glove to your face, coating your face in snow just as his had been covered moments earlier.
“Okay, okay! I’m sorry!” You panted, breathless with laughter as you brought your hands to your face to wipe the snow away.
“Truce?” Din asked as he released his hand from your wrist and placed it on your waist, pulling you close to him. You looked down at his lips, so warm and inviting. It would be so easy to give in to what your heart wanted and kiss him. But he had played dirty, grabbing you and forcing his hand to your face like that.
“No way!” You exclaimed as you wriggled from his embrace and squatted down to sculpt another snow-based missile.
Din shook his head, laughing at you as you hurled another snowball at him. He retaliated in kind, catching you square in the jaw. You continued like that for a few more minutes, forgetting all about the actual child who was sitting quietly a few feet away in the snow, watching the pair of you fight like children. A snowball fight seemed like a good idea, but the two of you had apparently forgotten about the abilities of the child you adored.
It was the sound of a giggle a few feet away that reminded you that you and Din were not alone here. In all your horseplay, Grogu was being neglected. You were about to apologise, scoop him up and help him make some snowballs of his own. But the kid had other ideas. The sight of his little head, a tiny green dot against the white snow that was still as bright despite the fading light, was the last sight you saw before everything became a snowy white haze. Suddenly, every part of your body was being pummelled by snowballs.
“What the–” You started, wondering how it was possible for snowballs to be made and thrown with the speed they were right then.
“GROGU!” Din bellowed. His mind had been quicker to recall the abilities with the Force that his son possessed, abilities that were helping him thoroughly destroy two grown adults in this impromptu snowball fight. “STOP! THAT'S CHEATING!”
After a few more moments, Grogu finally relented, clapping his hands together in glee. As your vision returned, you noticed the way both you and Din were covered head to toe in snow… your faces barely visible amongst the carnage. Din’s thick coat certainly did a better job of protecting him from the elements than your own garment, which seemed woefully inadequate in comparison. There should have been something slightly humiliating about being beaten by a child, but all you could think about was the way Din’s cheeks were slightly rosy. How his smile dazzled against the brilliant white snow. His presence was magnetic… you could stare at him forever.
“I’ll make you pay for that, you little womp rat!” Din said playfully as he charged towards Grogu, who squealed in delight and tried to make a break for it from Din. Alas, his legs were too little and Din soon caught up to him, scooping him up with a motion that sent both of them tumbling to the ground.
You laughed at the sight and made your way over to them. Din placed Grogu on his knee and began passing him little bits of snow, whispering to him and instructing him how to make a snowball fairly, rather than with the Force. But rather than a sweet father and son bonding moment, it transpired that your boys were actually conspiring against you. Grogu pitched the little snowballs at you with stunning accuracy as each hit your cheeks. You stumbled dramatically, falling to the snow face down beside them and closing your eyes, as though mortally wounded.
“Wake up, cyare!” Din said playfully. “Oh no, Grogu… what did you do?”
Grogu whined in response.
“I think, perhaps, a kiss is needed?” Din said lightly.
The feeling of firstly Din’s warm breath washing over yours, and then his soft lips gently meeting yours meant, once he pulled away, the grin that was on your face shattered the illusion for Grogu, who was now staring at the two of you curiously. Even if you had wanted to continue the act, once Din kissed you, you couldn’t do anything except grin.
“All better.” You sighed, enjoying the way Din’s brown curls were sticking to his forehead, dampened by the snow. Warmth pooled in your chest as you looked at him, reflecting the depth of the affection you felt for this man.
Then, you flipped onto your back and began moving your arms and legs in unison to make a snow angel, watching the brilliant sky as you did so. Din placed Grogu on the snow between the two of you and began making the same motions. Grogu looked confused at first, but soon caught up, thrashing his little arms and legs about wildly. You caught Din’s eye as the two of you gazed at each other, soft smiles on your faces. You were trying to convey how grateful you were that he had brought you to this paradise. The look in his warm brown eyes, that shone like honey in the fading light, indicated that he understood. You slowed down, transfixed by him, before ceasing your motions. But then, the warmth in your chest that you felt whenever you looked at Din, was replaced with something much, much colder. Making snow angels with the two of them was such a joyful moment that you temporarily forgot how cold you were, your coat soaked through. But once the motions ceased, your teeth began chattering.
Din noticed instantly, looking at you with concern before he said, “Come on, let’s head inside and put Grogu to bed.” He raised an eyebrow, “Then,I have an idea for how to help you warm up.”
You couldn’t help but giggle breathlessly as Din pulled you to your feet. It turned out that the kiss had been a promise of things to come. As the pair of you walked hand in hand to the cabin, you took one last look back to the three figures in the snow in the fading light. The large, broad outline of Din’s snowangel, the shape that was unmistakably that of your own body and, between the two of you, the imprint Grogu had made, which seemed impossibly tiny next to the two of you. Especially considering the carnage he had just unleashed upon Din and you with the snowballs. So much power for one so small.
You thought with a smile that the snowy impressions of the three of you looked perfect together in the fluffy snow. They would be gone by the time you rose tomorrow, replaced by a fresh dusting of snow. But the love that the three of you felt for each other could not be replaced by any force in the galaxy.
For now, though, the unmistakable outlines of your little family remained as evidence of the fun afternoon you had spent in the snow.

You and I drink the Poison from the same Vine
Din Djarin x female!reader
Word count:1.5k
Warnings: heavy Season three spoilers, angst, PTSD, violence, blood, fluff at the end
Summary: After the eventful days on Mandalore, you and Din have to adjust to your newly found home
Masterlist

Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum-I love you
Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum or'atu- I love you more
Tumblr media
It felt like you were moving in slow moition. Every move that you made felt too slow. Even though your legs already  hurt, you had to run faster, you had to reach him somehow and right before the Doors could fall shut, you managed to slip underneath it to the other side. Your head shot up and you saw how the troopers attacked Din. He tried to resist, but there were too many, even for him. And while you tried to help him, there wasn't much, either of you could do. And as one of the troopers managed to grab your arm and drag you towards Gideon, your eyes shot to the child, who was standing on the other side of the door. Your heart hurt at what he had to witness. He didn't deserve this, any of this. He deserved a normal childhood, normal parents, normal friends. But all he had seen was violence and destruction.
"Y/N"
You looked at Din, who was kneeling just a few feet in front of you. His voice was slightly trembling. He was just as scared as you were, but he tried to be strong. For you, for Grogu.
"It's going to be okay, Y/N", he whispered, his voice trying to be reassuring. You took a deep breath in and tried to believe his words. This was just another obstacle in your way, you would survive it too, like you always did.
"The Mandalorian and his woman", you heard Gideon chuckle and seconds later, you felt how he grabbed your arm, pulling you closer to his face.
"Tell me!?", he hissed into your ear,"How would you feel if I killed him right now in front of you?"
"No!!", you yelped, struggling against his grip on your arm,"Please don't hurt him!"
Begging was all you could do at the moment. Without any weapons and any way out, you didn't know what else to do.
Moff Gideon only laughed at your words again:"You have managed to escape me for so long and here you are, begging for the life of your Partner."
He put extra emphasis on the word 'begging', while you still struggled against his grip. Every fiber of your body was on fire, all you could think of was to make it out alive together with Din and Grogu. But right now, that almost seemed impossible.
"How about this?", Gideon finally propsed after a few seconds of thinking. He tossed you to the ground in front of Din. And while you still tried to get up again, he had already put a knife against your throat.
"You kill him or I'll kill you!", Gideon grinned. The expression on his faced showed the utmost amusement.
"No", Din mumbled,"Leave her out of this!" He struggled against the troopers, but of course, there was no escape.
As the first tears started to roll down your cheeks, you felt how Gideon slipped a dagger into your hand. The cold material almost burned against your fingers, as you looked down at the weapon.
"Beskar", Gideon mumbled. Of course it was beskar. There wasn't a cruelty that didn't buzz around Moff Gideon's brain.
"I won't do it", you mumbled. You tried to sound confident, but it didn't work. It was as clear as day that you were afraid, but not of your own death, but of the death of your partner.
"Y/N, please", Din whispered and tried to reach for you, but he was pulled back by the troopers,"Don't do this"
"I'm sorry, Din", you uttered, slowly letting the knife fall out of your hands. The beskar clattered against the metallic floor.
"So be it", Gideon mumbled. The pressure against your neck dissapeard and for a second, you allowed yourself to hope. To hope that Bo-Katan had somehow found a way to you or that the child was able to use it's powers.
But none of that was the case.
And the last thing you saw was Din trying to escape the grasp of the troopers. You heard him scream, but it felt like he was far far away and only seconds later, you felt something , that you would never forget again. You felt the sharp pain of Moff Gideon's blade ramming into your stomach. You looked up at the former imperial officer and his face lit up with delight upon seeing your suffering. And with the biggest grin on his face, he pulled the blade back out, pushing you to the floor. You tasted copper and felt how your own blood ran down your chin and dropped into the already forming puddle on your clothes. Everything felt surreal and even if you saw Din still fighting against the troopers, trying to reach you, You couldn't hear him. You couldn't hear anything apart from the prominent ringing in your ears. Your hands wandered to the wound trying to put pressure on it but it was helpless. You knew that within seconds you would be dead and All that you've been through, It would've been worth nothing. All the adventures, all the dangers, the people you've met and lost, the countless memories...
It was all worth nothing
Tumblr media
Your eyes shot open and within seconds, you were sitting up straight on your bed. Your breathing was erratic and you could feel your heart furiously beating against your chest. Only now, you noticed the wetness on your cheeks. You had been crying in your sleep.
"Y/N!?"
You gaze wandered to the door, upon hearing Din's voice. For a second, you forgot that you escaped, that you survived, that you moved into the small hut on Nevarro, that Grogu was safe and that Din was safe. All you saw, was the picture of him on his knee's, a dagger in your hand and a choice in mind. The image burned into your skull, an image that you would never forget again.
"I-I- Din-", you stuttered, not able to get those horrific memories out of your head. Din seemed to immediately understand and walked over to you. He kneeled down in front of you, his hands searching for your own.
"Look at me, Y/N", he said, his voice stern but yet soft,"I am right here, I am with you. You are safe."
Fresh tears started to run down your face upon hearing his words. You stumbled forward and threw your arms around him. Din gladly accepted the hug and pulled you into his arms.
"Careful", He mumbled. And you instantly understood what he meant, as a sharp pain errupted in your stomach. A small groan left your lips, as Din helped you to sit back up on your bed.
"Your wound is still not completly healed, we need to be careful", Din mumbled, lifting your shirt to see if the bandage was still intact, which it was , luckyly.
"I know, thank you", you whispered, suddenly feeling ashamed for causing so much trouble in the middle of the night.
"I have been thinking", Din suddenly said. You were perplexed for a second, as he took your hand in his again,"I want you to see me"
You gasped at his words. You had expected many things, but not this.
"Din, you don't have to. Yo've been through much too-", you tried to protest but Din only shoock his head
"You and I drink the poison from the same vine"
You nodded, understanding what he meant. After seeing how much you hesitated, Din grabbed both of your hands and put them on his shoulders, before slowly sliding them towards his helmet. With a deep breath, you finally started to slide the helmet upwards. You could barely see anything in the dense lighting, but as the helmet finally came of entirely, Din's big brown eyes focused on yours. He was all you could've ever imagined and so much more. His soft features and the smooth brown locks , that framed his beautiful face.
"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum", Din muttered. A tear rolled down your cheek as you recognized the words, that he had told to you so often before.
"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum or'atu", you uttered, putting a small smile on Din's face.
Your body almost moved on it's own, closing the distance between the two of you.
You felt Din's gentle hands on you waist, careful as to not hurt you, Within seconds, his lips were pressed against yours in a passionate kiss. The first one, since he confessed his feelings to you. Probably the first one in his life. But you didn't care about that. All you could think of right now, was that you finally managed to push those gruesome memories from Mandalore aside. Your mind and soul were filled by Din Djarin. And you would't want it any other way.
Oh, I love it and I hate it at the same time
You and I drink the poison from the same vine
Oh, I love it and I hate it at the same time
Hidin' all of our sins from the daylight

I just wanna gush over your newest art for a sec: everything about luke (from his body language to the bit of his expression we can see) is so so protective and i love it so much. I wanna hug this art.
Hello there, Anon! Y'know, that was the very first thought/feeling I had when I started sketching it out. One could argue that's been a very trying and testing time in the Mandalorian corner of the Star Wars fandom, and I just wanted a softer landing for Din, someone who will catch him when he falls. And - personal bias here, shocking I know - I was geting some similar vibes between how Disney Wars has handled Luke and how they're now handling Din, and thought, "Who better than Luke?"
I bet he gives great hugs and I know he is a safe place to be when the going gets tough and you just need a break.

(i forgot where i got the gif from, if this is yours, pls tell me!!)
It is always the same with Mandalorians, or should you rather say, with that one particular Mandalorian? Every time you meet again in this vast galaxy, he is in some kind of trouble – and obviously he is in trouble right now as well. You have already seen him coming from afar, followed by some creatures whose hatred, as so often, he has apparently aroused. Or maybe it was the small, green creature in his arms, the child he has been lovingly caring for for a while. You have met the two of them many times before and each time it turned out that everyone was after the kid. You, too, have encountered orders to capture the green creature, but chasing after an innocent child, no matter how high the bounty, is just not on your level.
In your previous encounters, you have often helped the two out, although the Mandalorian and you share a long history together. Because before he blossomed into a loving protector and father figure, he was always one step ahead of you, always stealing the bounty that was actually meant for you. You absolutely hated him for that and maybe you still do a little bit, but once you see him taking care of the child and doing everything in his might to protect it, you suddenly cannot hate him anymore.
In fact, your heart beats even faster the moment he rushes your way with his little green friend in his arms, a Trandoshan and two Quarren closely behind him, firing off shots that luckily miss their target. Quickly, you assess the situation: there is only little chance of escape for the two and they are slowly but surely being surrounded by more creatures emerging from the shadows. Screaming, the townspeople run into their houses, causing incredible chaos, but you keep a close eye on the Mandalorian. Without thinking about it twice, you finally sling your MK sniper rifle off your shoulder, aim it, and fire the first shot, leaving the Mandalorian with one less threat to worry about.
After your first shot is fired, everyone pauses in shock, looking in all directions to assess where the deadly shot was fired from. You use this moment to your advantage and eliminate one of the Quarren. Once pierced by your bullet, you loudly whistle to alert the Mandalorian of your position, which he understands immediately. Within seconds he launches his jetpack and comes gliding towards you, the pursuers slowly awakening from their state of shock and beginning to wildly shoot after them again.
“Well, what did you do this time?”, you playfully wink at him when he lands directly next to you so that you can now flee together on foot into the other direction. His little green friend immediately greets you with happy babbling when recognizing you, making you smile.
“What are you doing here?!”, the Mandalorian asks you a little out of breath, repeatedly firing one shot after the other behind you.
“Oh, you know. Just the usual”, you reply mischievously and draw your own blaster, which is always attached to your thigh and now much handier than your giant sniper rifle in this situation. With well-considered shots you now also shoot behind you, gradually eliminating your pursuers, but no matter how many of them you actually hit, they do not seem to become any less. “They are really targeting you both again, huh?”
“We have to get out of here as fast as possible, they can hit us far too easily here”, he replies immediately, ignoring your statement. Apparently, you are now an integral part of this mission and must see how to leave this planet in once piece.
“Oh, come on. You know me, Mando. I am well prepared for everything, as always”, you grin and lead him through several narrow alleys, that you carefully memorized before accepting this job, until you arrive at the edge of the town. A landspeeder is parked a few meters in front of you, the one that you rented specifically for your original mission, but you definitely have other things to worry about right now. “You are driving!”, you call out to the Mandalorian, abruptly stopping and turning to your pursuers, from whom you have gained at least a little more distance in the meantime. In a flash, you draw your sniper rifle again and fire several times before quickly heading towards the speeder that the Mandalorian has now launched, the child placed safely in his lap.
Energetically, you jump into the passenger seat and manage to hold on at the last moment as he immediately races away at full speed. The wind blows your hair around and severely restricts your vision.
“And where do we go now?!”, he asks angrily while you are still struggling with your hair.
“Keep going straight, we should be able to shake them off there-”, you explain, but are suddenly cut off when a blaster shot misses your head just by a few inches. Eyes wide, you turn to look behind you and are horrified to find that your pursuers have also organized landspeeders and are still hot on your heels.
“Okay, change of plans! Drive as close to obstructions as possible and it would be splendid if you could hold the speeder still so I can aim”, you command him and have already put your sniper rifle back on, which does not have to wait long to be used again and to successfully eliminate its target. However, it turns out to be much more difficult than expected to shoot from a moving vehicle at high speed at enemies who are also moving around, especially when someone does not have the speeder under control.
“That is not what I call holding still, Mando!”, you hiss at him, propping your knee on the passenger seat while keeping your other feet on the bottom of the speeder for better footing. “And make sure your little friend does not fall out!”
“Grogu.”
“What?”
“His name is Grogu.”
“Oh, so he actually has a name now?” you ask surprised, still trying to spot the enemies through your scope to give them the final blow. “Suits him. But I’d rather we get to know each other better later than when we are about to get blown up.”
“I will gladly introduce you to each other officially then”, he replies, and you can clearly hear the crooked grin under his helmet. It is amazing how easily he says that given the situation you are in right now. But his calmness somehow rubs off on you, just like it always does in each of your encounters. And suddenly you can concentrate better again and, despite the strong wobbling movements of the speeder, no longer miss your targets. Until only one speeder is chasing after you, which seems to be getting faster and faster.
“Can’t this thing go any faster?!”, you hear the Mandalorian swear under his breath, but just as he says this, you spot something through your scope that makes you gulp, transferring your whole body into a state of shock.
“Dodge!”, you scream out, but by then it is already too late. One of the remaining pursuers detonated a thermal detonator and threw it directly at you. He did it so fast you could not react at all and only felt it implode extremely close to your speeder, tearing it apart. You are thrown out of the exploding speeder in a high arc, a beeping noise in your ears from the explosion. However, while you are unable to do anything, the Mandalorian eventually launches his jetpack, thrusting himself toward the child and then to you, catching both of you just in time.
All of this happens in the split of a second and he severely hits the ground while Grogu and you softly land on top of him after he wrapped you in his arms to protect you from the violent impact. When you realize this, you look at him right away, hoping his Beskar armor eased the impact.
“Are you alright?!”, you ask worried, Grogu seeming just as worried as you, but then the Mandalorian raises his head while simultaneously raising his blaster, shooting the last pursuer who was not hit by the explosion and who suddenly appeared right behind you. Exhaling heavily, he lets his head fall back and only now do you realize that you were holding in your breath.
“Since when are you so unfocused?”, he then teases you, and despite the exhaustion in his voice, he almost seems like he finds it funny. Outraged by his statement – and inwardly ashamed that he is actually right – you lightly punch him on the breastplate of his armor. Although he probably does not feel much of it, you are more interested in bringing the gesture across than actually hurting him.
“I did not have to help you, you know?”, you say cockily, finally getting up after realizing you were still laying on top of him. Shaking your head, you take Grogu on your arm and give the Mandalorian a helping hand to pull him back to his feet. “I will always save you, but next time I will think twice about rescuing Mando”, you explain to the little one, who is watching you with his big doe eyes.
“You are right. Thank you very much for your help, I owe you something”, he admits when you hand his son over to him again, who immediately gets comfortable in his arms.
“Not necessary. It would only be nice if we could meet under normal circumstances for once and not always.. in situations like these”, you sigh theatrically, although you know that your words just contain wishful thinking. Both your lives are always fast paced, there is hardly a moment to calm down let alone spend time together.
“That would be nice actually”, he finally nods, which stuns you for a moment because you did not expect an answer like that. “By the way, you can call me Din. Now that you are calling Grogu by his name, it is only fair that you know mine, too. It is also better for scolding me in the future.”
“I- I-”, you suddenly stutter out, a very different reaction from what you are used to of yourself. However, you know exactly what a deep meaning lays behind his words. He revealed his identity to you, and he does not do that with anyone. You cannot help but feel extremely honored about this.
“Y/N, we have known each other for so long and yet you surprise me every time”, Din chuckles from under his helmet, Grogu following your conversation with fascination as you slowly make your way back to town by foot. “It is always a pleasure to work with you. Do you want us to take you somewhere with the Razor Crest?”
“N-No. It is fine. I still have a job to do here”, you politely reject his offer, not knowing how to feel about your heart hammering against your chest. “I am just glad that you are doing well, and that the danger has been averted, at least for the moment. I do not want anything to happen to Grogu after all.”
“Thank you again, Y/N. For everything”, he thanks you as you reach town, tilting his head slightly to give depth to his gratitude. “I hope we will meet again soon.”
“I hope so too. Goodbye, Din”, you smile at him, happily and maybe even a little shy, waving at the two of them as Grogu raises his tiny hand to say goodbye as well. “Take good care of him, Grogu, will you? And if you ever need me, you know where to find me.”

The Blossom of Arkanon
Tumblr media
Pairing: Din Djarin x F!Reader (no use of Y/N)
Summary: This story sets 15 yrs before The Mandalorian events, Din Djarin is hired by Rebel Alliance forces to protect and escort you, the princess of a dead planet, to your new home.
Series warnings: use of you, violence, science fantasy elements, slow burn, angst, fluff, mutual pining, eventual smut (18+ MDNI), trauma.
Before to start: hello there, new ff (another one, yes!) coming! I watched the Mandalorian only, so I don't know much about Star Wars Universe, but asap I'll watch the films, so probably some elements are not correct. I won't give many details of the various characters, so you could imagine 'em as you want. I don’t know how many chapters the story will have. English is not my first language, so be patient and merciful.
If you want to follow my new fanfiction, thank you very much 🙏
Thanks @vase-of-lilies for the banner

Like the moment Din Djarin and Bo-Katan looked at each other my brain was like “YOU’RE SHIPPING THEM YOU’RE SHIPPING THEM YOU’RE SHIPPING THEM YOURE SHIPPING THEMMMMMMMM”
And knowing how negative some Star Wars fans can be cause I literally shipped them from that single moment of them saving Din and Grogu on the boat, so I kept that shit to myself and scoured AO3 and FF(.)Net for any crumbs of fics alone while keeping to myself due to just me not wanting to speak up.
So imagine how happy I am seeing this ship grow and morph before my eyes. My Din and Bo figures who I’ve had for a while now finally don’t seem out of place, me downloading Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes just to unlock and build around those two(Which is a hell of a grind). I’m so excited for the future of this ship and the fans it has built around it. This ship reminds me of my first OTP Yorkalina which is a sunken ship so yeah seeing this one set sail is beautiful!
To all the fanfic writers of this ship, Thank you!
To all the amazing artists depicting this ship Thank you!
To everyone just supporting this ship and being there for it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart cause even if I don’t interact in the tags or with many people, I finally don’t feel alone and feel happy with it!
Love you all!
This is the way.

Friendos, it is time for the first installment of...
Tumblr media
Theywhowriteandknowthings aka Knowy
@theywhowriteandknowthings was one of the first e-friendos I made on this site and has been a champion for me while I found my groove in my fic writing shoes. They were one of my first beta'ers for my works and offered super insightful & valuable input as well as their friendship. Their writing inspires me to keep pushing myself outside of the box and their encouragement makes it easy to do so!
Thank you, Knowy!
I-will-not-ask-you-where-you-came-from regards,
Beefro 👌🥩💜
Here's my Top 5 of @theywhowriteandknowthings work:
First Time's the Charm - Javi Gutierrez
This is the first fic I read of Knowy's and It came at me right before the Birth of Beefro. I was still loitering under my original tumblr account at the time and I wasn't even remotely looking at writing. But this fic led me into a deep dive into the Peepaw FF world and I never looked back - I have a massive soft spot for this fic, as well as it is very saucy!
Rendezvous in Reno - Dieter Bravo
NOW THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. I have read this fic many a time and I enjoy it more and more each time [I got to beta it and MY FUCK! i felt truly blessed and highly favoured]. Jus everything - the reader is an erotica writer and Dieter is a fan, his fabulous underwear, his dirty mouth, and his ego... MY GOD HIS EGO! This one is fun and should NOT be read while you sit in the same room as your in-laws FYI.
Creep - CreepyNeighbour!Joel Miller
This right here is a work of art. I got to beta this work again and I was a naughty pigeon and did it at work. LET ME TELL Y'ALL - I WAS LEFT UNABLE TO PERFORM MY DUTIES AS REQUIRED AFTER READING THIS. I should have taken the rest of the day to lay down and think on my sins because GOD DAMN. 10 out of 10 beefs for Creep. 🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩
The Princess & The Duke - StepDad!Dave York
Okay, okay, okay... this is the oom papa mow mow of Dave York is your stepdad fics and I will fight anyone who opposes it. I love this series and the way Knowy has written Dave THE WAY HE DESERVED TO BEGIN WITH. I love the gentle badass he is in this and I hope reader's mom chokes on a carrot as she gives a 'Deep Throating 101' class at the local community collage.
SNAFU - Shifter!Frankie Morales
And my fav (even though I'm not ranking)! The one that started it all. This fic is not how I found them, but it is what made me want to get to know them and pick their delicious brain. It's a Frankie Fiend's wet dream and I had no idea how enraptured I could be with a Shifter Universe! I screamed into my pillow like a teenager and kicked my legs gleefully thinking about how Frankie shared his chicken wings with IQ. I will die on the hill that is marked: KNOWY'S SNAFU IS BEST USE OF SHIFTER AU This is an ongoing series and whether we get a new chapter soon or not, we will always have Bear!Pope memes. 🐻💜
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Murder Daddy Kinktober 2023 - Sex Pollen/Pheromones Joel Miller x afab!Reader
Any & All Knowy's Miguel O'Hara fics Miguel O'Hara x afab!Reader
Whole Frankie Morales x afab!Reader x Santiago Garcia
Shore Leave Frankie Morales x afab!Reader x Santiago Garcia
Taungsdays, Am I Right? Din Djarin x afab!Reader
Hazy Days Din Djarin x afab!Reader
Breaking the Rules DBF!Joel Miller x afab!Reader

My Revamped Masterpost!
Heyo y'all! I finally got around to creating this master list!
I'm on AO3 as Mizuka, and am the author of the Winter Light Verse.
Long story short, I had a worldbuilding concept, ended up with the Twilight/Life and Death fandom combo, threw out 98% of canon, and started a rewrite from scratch with totally different lore, history, vampire biology/society, and plot altogether. All while going full gay.
I've also written for other fandoms - most notably, Fire Emblem Three Houses and Ace Attorney. I even started my 'Fandom Odyssey', where I write the occasional fic in other fandoms - fandoms I like, fandoms my friends like, random fandoms, or even, all of the above!
