Made myself a swanky little headset stand for my Radio Demon themed gaming space. I love that it’s both functional and beautifully creepy when not in use
You dont need a community of community builders to build a community. You dont need a culture of revolutionaries to build to something better.
Skateboarding culture is built out of DIY skateparks making use of unused public space. Not every skateboarder is building quarterpipes and ledges out of wood but the few that are benefit the entire skateboarding community.
Punk culture was defined by its lo-fi, grass-roots music industry. Not every punk had a recording studio in their bedroom but the entire community did benefit from the small group who did.
A community is built from a small group of pushers and doers. Change comes later.
But alas, her character development and depth in canon is.... well...
On a surface level Badass Ghost Hunter is a great character hook. Valerie is so cool! Her hunter character design is eye catching and attention grabbing. It's a great design. But beyond that, I want her character to have so much more depth. I want to know more about what kind of person makes the decisions she makes. Because honestly, she deserves it.
So I suppose we DIY this shit, huh?
Who's got some headcanons about Val's non ghost related hobbies and personal life?
The goofy stuff her dad's done since she was little that she pretends to be annoyed about but secretly loves? The things her dad does that she actually finds annoying? Her small joys? Her favorite snack? Her favorite season of the year and why? Her favorite movie or music genres? Her celebrity crushes? Her hopes and dreams for the future? Her best classes in school? Her dream job? What are your headcanons for her extended family? Does she have any aunties and uncles? Younger or older cousins? Her favorite animal? Her opinions on crocs? (The shoe or the reptile) Does she have any odd phobias? (like crocs) What motivates her to get out of bed every morning? What helps her fall asleep at night? What keeps her up at night? (Besides the ghosts) Does she prefer tea? Hot chocolate? Coffee? Cold drinks?
Tell me all the little details you've thought about. The fun ideas and sparks that can make her more.
So I went out a few days ago to get myself a pair of water shoes (my sensitive footsies can't handle the amount of rocks in the water at this beach) and maybe find myself a non-borrowed backpack for biking. I got the shoes ok then zeroed in on a backpack with the PERFECT color and texture, no big logos, and I started thinking up ideas on the sort of things I could embroider onto the back. It was 45€ and I'd been hoping to find something cheap, but it would probably last me years and years with the high quality material.
I bought it, brought it outside, sat down and went to take the sticker off of—oh.
That... wasn't a sticker. There was an ugly little Adidas logo stuck in the fabric that wasn't coming off.
I went back to the embroidery thoughts and worked out what I would do on the way home.
I embroidered a densely stitched trans flag the size and shape of the offending logo,
cut it out, folded down the edges,
and loosely sewed it onto the backpack.
This to prepare for the more secure glitter gold thread frame. :3
Gonna take my newly transed backback with me to the beach on Wednesday. ✨🏳️⚧️✨
there is something I find inherently funny with Lucy's design. why is she so sexualized. why do u have pronounced metal tits. why do you have a BELLY BUTTON? what is the purpose of all of that maam.
Happy Rural Dionysia my friends ! this year, I've sewn a hand-made patch of Dionysos onto my battle jacket <3 I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season, regardless of what you celebrate 🪻🍇🍷
Because the company I work for is rolling out new dress code that bans any sort of graphics/logos/etc. except for the actually store logo/graphics, that leaves my wardrobe a little bare for what I will and will not be able to wear. Because of that, I’ve decided to kick my DIY skills into gear so I can have something that’s alternative and yet work-appropriate to wear.
I started by buying this black t-shirt which is currently on sale in our store for under $3. With my discount and tax it came out to $2.24, but we’ll round it to $3 since not everyone is going to be getting an additional employee discount.
From there I took this grommet-filled ribbon that I bought at the thrift store my grandma works at. This was a few years ago, so I don’t remember the price really, but it was somewhere around $1. We’ll round it to $2 just to be sure.
From there I hand-sewed the ribbon around the hems of the shirt. While still being a plain black shirt with no sort of logos or graphics, it now has a DIY alternative touch that doesn’t go overboard.
And here’s the finished product! I’ll try and remember to post a picture of me in it when the new regulations kick in!
