Exposition aux camps des milles sur les fake news, de leurs création à leurs conséquences.

Encoreunestp, Make truth great again, 2020 : ""Make truth great again" évoque le hastag diffusé sur le réseau social Twitter à chaque apparition d'une fake news. L'artiste fait référence au slogan de Donald trump lors de ses campagnes éléctorales aux états-Unis en 2016 et en 2020. Cette campagne avait d'ailleurs donnée lieu à une explosion de fake news, terme lui-meme popularisé par le candidat. Pour créer cette oeuvre, l'artiste a rassemblé sous forme de captures d'ecran, les fake news qui ont été le plus fact-checkées (vérifiées) dans le monde. L'installation diffuse en permanance 44 dementis issus d'une base de donnée générée par un algorithme. En faisant changer 5 captures d'écran toutes les secondes, l'artiste cherche à reproduire le rythme d'apparition des fakes news sur internet qui serait de 5 par seconde."

Beautiful Flowers and How to Grow Them is an exhibition of Paul Johns’ portraits, captured on 16mm film and Polaroid between 1975 and 1985. Johns’ films have largely been considered the material source for his photographs. They are exhibited together in Wellington for the first time. Predominantly filmed in the intimate setting of Johns’ central Christchurch studio, a Christchurch railway station, and at a friend's Brooklyn flat on weekend trips to Carmen Rupe’s Wellington, Johns' portraits capture the utopic energy of a flourishing underground scene in Christchurch and Wellington – a generation inspired by newly politicised and subversive forms of popular culture. Beautiful Flowers and How to Grow Them expands portraiture in the context of contemporary photography and moving image. Taking advantage of the equivocal nature of portrait and documentary photography, Johns’ playfully blurs the lines between aesthetics and ethics, fact and fiction, and between art and its social conditions. The many heroes in Beautiful Flowers and How to Grow Them look at themselves in the lens of Johns’ camera with cheek. Don’t you think that Seungho’s behaviour is the same as the red haired guy from My suha? I wonder why one is so loved and the other so hated, is it because Seungho is handsome?

i mean red haired guy from my suha is attractive too. i think the difference is just how the story is framed tbh. like seungho was never introduced to the reader as the bad guy/villain whereas the red haired guy is. furthermore, the relationship btwn suha and the red haired guy is one where suha hates red haired guy but nakyum’s relationship to seungho isn’t that. so you’re also reading it that way. like it’s all abt framing, not who is handsome or not handsome. bl doesn’t tend to have ugly villains in it tbh

also, plenty of ppl hate seungho djcs and like they’re not wrong for it. but the people who enjoy potn (i hope) know that he’s a bad person and wouldn’t condone his behaviour irl. like you’re under no obligation to like potn or seungho and certainly, the art for potn being so good probably does lend to its popularity but again, bl doesn’t have ugly bad guys.

my suha is also not a story about an asshole guy. so as a reader, you’re not meant to sympathize with red haired guy but you are meant to sympathize with seungho. ofc you don’t have to bc he is a bad person. like it’s just abt consuming media critically
