Generally I don't level my operators beyond what's needed for modules, but with nobody in particular on my "to raise" list right now (or for the near future), I figured it might be fun to start maxing out some 4 stars
Of course, it had to be her.
And yes, this means Dobermann is now my highest leveled operator
I regret nothing.

One thing about the first episode I'm not yet sure how I feel about is how it feels like Dobermann got kinda toned down a bit?
Admittedly it's been a hot minute (two and a half years lol) since I read the first few cutscenes, but at least as I recall it, the initial Chernobog trifecta of Amiya, Dobermann, and Ace had three differring reactions to Doctor's amnesia; Amiya was more-or-less in denial about it, apologetic but still kinda throwing Doctor into the deep end in the hopes that they would recover their memories quickly and everything would be Okay Again. Ace, meanwhile, was more chill and patient about it, but also kind of the same overall mindset; as long as they got Doctor back to Rhodes Island in one piece, then surely they could find a way to bring back their memories and they would lead RI to a new period of success and victory.
Meanwhile Dobermann was a lot more initially hardass, but as the only one of the three who had never really known the Doctor previously, only by reputation, was quicker to accept that the amnesia was probably something permanent unless proven otherwise. At least if I recall correctly, she said something to the efect of treating the Doctor as a completely new person regardless of their past self's reputation, and that they would have to earn her respect on their own current merits.
(Albeit, in a frustrated, backhanded sort of way, because shit is hitting the fan and she has people she needs to keep alive and this whole mission may have turned out to be basically pointless and the Doctor in their present weakened state is additional dead weight to worry about, but honestly I could understand where she was coming from given all that.)
Admittedly they may yet get into that, as my recollection of the early chapters is again rather hazy aside from the broad strokes. But at least for now, while they've kinda-sorta addressed part of that with her discussion with Amiya, (about not assuming the Doctor would recover in time to be of help), it still felt like she was overall shifted into aligning more with Ace's stance of treating the Doctor as their past self, just in waiting.
It's not necessarily a bad decision, and it further helps sell the Doctor as A Big Deal who everyone had their hopes pinned on for better or worse. Still, given that Game!Dobermann being the first one to treat Post-amnesia-Doctor as a new and distinct person (even if again in a rather curt manner given the stressful situation and the implications of this for their mission) was one of the things that endeared me to her pretty much right away, it does feel like at least a little bit of a letdown. However, we're not out of Chernobog yet, so there may still be time to have the rest of that discussion later.
