Hit people who think terraforming would work on any planet with a rolled up newspaper. It doesn't matter what side of the political aisle they're on

#should we reduce pollution? yes#does that have anything to do with terraforming? no#is the greenhouse affect akin to terraforming? i mean? a little?#but it's a stupid argument either way because the scale is way off#also don't talk to me about climate change until you have a serious policy on china#because they are only increasing their emissions while tutting at the rest of the world to do more#stop implementing policies that harm lower income people while allowing the world's biggest polluter to go unchecked#do you have a way to induce a magnetic field on these moons and planets? because otherwise you're gonna keep an atmosphere#even assuming you could make one#which you can't in any meaningful way#shut up about terraforming 2024 - challenge level: impossible

what's your opinion on the new "light is physical, darkness is mental" rhetoric Bungie is going with, considering the visions the traveller often uses?
I think it's really interesting on a number of levels, but mostly from the perspective of how Light and Darkness aren't opposing enemy forces, but exist in a balance where they're both necessary for the universe to exist.
The thing that people tend to forget is that the Traveler is a sentient being. It's not an object, it's an independend being with thoughts and goals and personality. Which means, it has a consciousness. This is immediately strange with the recent discoveries about the nature of Darkness, but also something that we have to keep in mind is that the nature of Darkness is not inherently negative.
So what does that mean for the Traveler? We have no clue. What we do know is that the Traveler and the Veil were once connected and then separated. In much the same way as the Traveler has a consciousness of its own, the Veil is physical. Perhaps this hints to how they used to be linked much closer together and one influencing the other. Ahsa told us about "two halves of a whole long divided" and the Witness cutscene also told us about how the Witness' species discovered that "the Gardener shared a connection with another entity."
It makes sense that for a complete universe, you need both aspects of existence; physical and mental. Are the Traveler and the Veil the thing that ushered the universe into existence, as a single entity, that later split into two and separated? Are they still influenced by that fact? Is that why the Traveler is a conscious being while the Veil is a physical entity? Interesting questions for us to discover in the future.
I'll bring up another really intriguing detail about the Traveler and that is its creation of Ghosts. Now that we know how the Witness became the Witness, by utilising the Veil to fuse the consciousnesses of its entire species into a singular being... It's peculiar how the Traveler created Ghosts by splitting its own self into thousands of little pieces of itself. Almost like a reversed process. How does that work with what we know about the Light and the Traveler, as well as Darkness? No clue. Super eager to find out, which hopefully we will by the end of the saga! Until then it's an interesting brain puzzle to me and I'd love to see what others in the fandom speculate about it.
#destiny 2#traveler#the veil#light#darkness#ask#also this thing with ghosts is interesting also because the witness can use ghosts to talk to us through them#why is that possible? is it because anything with a consciousness is capable of being a conduit like that? or is it something else?#this reminds me that a lot of people were annoyed that we didn't immediately find out a simple answer about the veil#meanwhile it's been ten years and we still have practically zero answers about the traveler#we know it's a paracausal being that terraforms#but what is it? why does it do the things it does? what is its purpose? we have no idea#i would LOVE a big traveler lore dump soon. maybe in TFS!#i would especially love stuff from the traveler's POV again

Isn't there an age limit?
The Justice League gathered in the meeting room to deal with yet another potential world ending threat. On the screen was a projection of an incoming alien armada. The invaders were as numerous as the stars. Each spaceship looked like a skull with many tentacles.
“These mechanical ships harvest a world’s resources, destroying all life, while terraforming the planet into servers which become part of Brainiac’s interstellar network,” Batman explained.
“We don’t have sufficient numbers to take them all down,” Martian Manhunter pointed out. “Is there a weakness we can target? Or do they have a leader we can capture to force the entire fleet into submission?”
“We need to locate Brainiac and infiltrate the ship he’s on.” While Batman spoke, a hush silence fell on the entire room. Everyone stared at the screen behind him, with mouths wide open.
Turning around, Batman stared in unbelief.
A massive sphere - a dead star, moved between Earth and the alien army.
The cameras zoomed in on a red dot pushing it - Fawcett’s new local hero with the demeanour of a golden retriever - Captain Marvel.
Gripping the titanic star like an oversized plastic ball, he swung it forward, hitting the incoming spaceships out of the galaxy.
The Herculean man’s face lit with childish glee as he pumped his fist in the air.
Grinning like an idiot, he carted the unimaginably heavy celestial object away, while whistling a ditty.
How powerful was that man?
More importantly, does he have any weakness in case he needs to be taken down?
“Phew,” Flash was the first to get his voice back. “The new guy took care of that. So can we go home now?”
“No,” Batman raised his hand. “Change of agenda. It’s time we expanded our membership.” Keep your friends close but your enemies closer. What better way to keep an eye on the new guy than to bring him into the fold.
Superman had a silly hopeful grin on his face. “I vote we invite Captain Marvel to join the League.” The Last Son of Krypton must suspect that the new hero is a fellow Kryptonian.
“We don’t know anything about him,” Green Lantern cautioned.
“Better get him on our side than have him join our enemies,” Batman replied as the screen showed photos and articles about Captain Marvel gleaned from the internet for all to study.
“He’s clean.” Cyborg ran his checks on the man. “He’s a boy scout. Half of all the footage I have found — and I mean exactly half — shows him rescuing cats from trees or helping little old ladies cross the road while carrying groceries for them.”
“Cast your votes,” Batman ordered. “Do we want Captain Marvel to be a member of the Justice League?”
*
The decision was unanimous. Captain Marvel has a place in the Justice League, that is, if he wants it. With his power set, he would be a valuable asset to the team. All appearances of the new hero have shown that he is one of the good guys.
“I’ll ask him,” Superman volunteered. He was dying to meet the new guy. He had to be a fellow Kryptonian. Though he must have a chat with The Captain about Bat-paranoia, to hide how much Kryptonians can really do. Otherwise Bats might break out his Kryptonite stores to hit them both.
For example, while pushing a titanic star, for goodness sake, please make it look a lot more challenging.
According to Cyborg, Captain Marvel would appear in Fawcett right after a massive lightning strike from the clear, cloudless sky. The hero tended to patrol Fawcett for an hour before seven in the morning and for an hour after three in the afternoon on weekdays. His schedule was more unpredictable during the weekends.
Clark was a reporter.
Could The Captain be an elementary school teacher in his civilian identity?
It was a quarter past three on a Wednesday afternoon. Superman hovered four hundred feet above Fawcett’s busiest square, drawing a curious crowd while he waited for Captain Marvel to make his appearance.
Lightning struck an alley near a local elementary school.
“S-superman!” Captain Marvel hovered in front of him.
The man’s brilliant blue eyes brimmed with excitement as he stared at Superman with an open-mouthed grin.
“What brings you to Fawcett?” The Captain’s cheeks flushed as he stiffened, arms crossing his heavily muscled chest. If Superman didn’t know any better, he’d think Captain Marvel was starstruck.
“Captain Marvel,” Superman began, feeling a little self conscious.“I come on behalf of the Justice League. We’ve seen what you can do and want you to join our team.”
“You want me to join the Justice League?” The big guy was practically bouncing with excitement. If he were a golden retriever with a tail, he’d be wagging it.
Just as abruptly, he looked down, slouching as if trying to shrink his large frame. “But isn’t there an age limit to join the League?”
“We don’t discriminate against anyone based on their ages.”
Superman whispered conspiratorially. “I don’t even know how old I was when my ship landed on earth. For all you know, it could have taken lightyears to get here.”
“Hmm,” Captain Marvel rubbed the back of his neck. “If you say so.”
“Take your time to think about it,” Superman handed him a League communicator. “This is for you. If you want to talk to us, just press this button,” he showed The Captain how to use the device.
“For me?” The guy looked as excited as a kid who had received a shiny new toy.
“Yes, for you,” Superman replied. “Call us when you’ve decided.”
“I want in,” Captain looked up, grinning from ear to ear.
“Then, welcome to the Justice League!” Superman shook his hand. “Come with me to our headquarters.”
*
The flight to the Justice League’s Headquarters with Superman was fun.
That giant satellite that Cap often flew past when he left earth’s atmosphere was the Justice League’s Watchtower - a secret meeting place for Justice League members.
Billy was flying with Superman.
Elated.
The SUPERMAN!
How cool was that?
His hero was a lot chattier in person.
Superman talked about Krypton, his home world. His dad uploaded all Krypton’s history and knowledge into the A.I. of the spaceship that brought Kal-el to earth.
Kal-el was Superman’s birth name.
“What’s your birth name?” Superman asked?
“William,” Cap replied.
“Wil-em,” Superman looked deep in thought.
“The Ems — I think I know your bloodline.”
“You do?” The thought that Superman even cared about Billy’s family warmed him like a cup of hot chocolate. But as far as Billy knew, he was a Batson, not an Em. He was four when he lost his family. It’s been three years since. His memories of Daddy, Mummy and Mary were beginning to fade.
“Come with me to my Fortress of Solitude after your induction and I’ll show you Krypton’s records about the Ems,” Superman grinned as he tapped on the satellite.
A panel slid open.
“Where is it?” Cap asked as he flew into the airlock.
“In the Arctic,” he accompanied Cap in the dock.
“Are there polar bears?” Cap felt giddy with excitement.
“Plenty,” Superman laughed as he walked Cap through the massive hall. It was like nothing Billy had ever seen.
“I can introduce you to a family of friendly bears,” Superman grinned.
“I would love that,” Billy’s heart did flip flops over the thought of getting to meet polar bears who were friends with Superman. Cap could speak all languages. He’d have a great time chatting with Superman’s bear buddies.
“Holy Moley,” Captain Marvel exclaimed as he walked through the security checkpoint. The doorway opened into futuristic corridor with interactive walls and holographic displays.
Announcing the arrival of Superman and his guest Captain Marvel, a tinny voice rang out.
“Brace yourself,” Superman whispered. “The rest of the League is waiting for us in the meeting room.”
A metallic panel slid open revealing a grand meeting room. Batman sat at the head of the long table. Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg and Aquaman sat around it. There were two empty seats.
All eyes were on Captain Marvel.
“Holy Moley,” Cap whispered. He couldn’t help himself. It’s a bad habit he picked up from his late father.
“Guys,” Superman announced. “Captain Marvel has agreed to join the Justice League.”
The room broke into applause.
“Welcome to the team,” Flash whooped.
“Let’s celebrate,” Aquaman tilted a large bottle of whiskey, filled a glass and slid it across the table to Captain Marvel.
Cap looked at the glass in front of him and back at Aquaman. “Isn’t there an age limit?”

Wanted to share this absolute cutie I got in a blind box today! ❤️ I was soo happy to see my baby when I opened the bag
The boy! He’s adorable

Memories
Shockwave x Reader
• That’s not him. Not his voice or his face as the drone pans and the other Shockwave smiles indulgently. ‘No, see, it’s just a micro drone,’ the stranger says, stretching an arm out and his cannon taps impatiently against his thigh. Doesn’t like the way every word that mech says echoes through his spark with an unsettling familiarity. ‘If it’s okay? I just, you’re a whole new species. I’d love to document our interactions, but if it bothers you, I won’t.’
• And the drone finally moves slightly, refocusing on a much smaller shape. A human when your species shouldn’t even exist, yet. You don’t look at the drone, your face upturned to look at the other Shockwave, the stranger, the imposter. Spark aching as his palm smacks against his desk, frame bowing toward the screen of his datapad. Turn your head. Look at the drone. Seems like he should know what those eyes look like, that he knows they look like they’re full of stars up close. Should know what your voice sounds like, too. He’s never seen you before, but his spark is aching as he braces himself against the desk. Feels like getting ripped apart watching this and it shouldn’t mean anything because it’s not him. ‘It’s fine,’ you say, voice soft and uncertain. Vulnerable as it sinks into him.
• Catches a glimpse of those eyes when you glance quickly at the drone and away. It’s not enough. Servos trembling as he accesses another timestamped file. Your face thinner. The recording’s from Cybertron. What were you eating? Was whatever that stranger synthesized not agreeing with you? Why do you look so tired? ‘You think this will work?’ You’re asking as you bend to push a tool closer to that other Shockwave’s hand and he resents that stranger. Can’t he see something’s wrong with you? It’s obvious.
• Another timestamp. You’re smiling, the dark smudges under your eyes gone now, your hair longer. And that other Shockwave reaches to slide the tip of a servo against your jaw, the touch familiar and intimate and he knows you’re going to reach to lay your hand on the mech’s servo before you do. Just like he knows your hand is soft and warm. ‘You should be resting,’ the bot says softly, frowning slightly and you wrinkle your nose. ‘I’m fine,’ you say and you watch the other Shockwave turn away. Go back to his work and he wants to snarl at the stranger to forget the terraforming project. Because the look on your face as you wrap your arms around yourself needles into his spark. You weren’t fine. Needed him and he didn’t realize it, yet.
• Hand sliding against his helm, he wants to smash the datapad. Wants to skip ahead to the last entry. Needs to know what happened to you and he’s afraid. This isn’t his. None of it’s his, because that Shockwave isn’t him. He doesn’t know that bot. Doesn’t know you. So why does his spark hurt so much? Pausing the playback he stares at you looking up at the other Shockwave who’s not even noticing. That’s not him. These memories aren’t his. He loves you. So much it feels like dying seeing you again. He’s never seen you before. Servo hovering over the last entry, he stares at your frozen face. The loneliness in your eyes.
• And he drops his head in his hand. Because if that is him, he can guess what happened. Empurata. Meaning that Shockwave did something, went against the senate. But the lost memories? A mnemosurgeon? Shadowplay? He knows there were mechs knocking on that door, working on fine tuning the art of stripping away memories without driving a subject insane. That bot isn’t him, those memories aren’t his. Unless they are. Did the drone record the end? Record what happened when it all fell apart? They would have come for him, but you wouldn’t have mattered to them. Would they have thought you were a pet and put you down? Would they have left you there alone to slowly starve? Can’t play the last recording. Can’t see how badly he failed you. Needs to know and doesn’t want to, as grief twists through him.

…. I’m not complaining, but the universe apparently knows I like Soundwave a normal amount

The Doctor does NOT and has NEVER loved River Song (And If You Think Otherwise, You Must Be Watching a Different Show)
Listen, folks. It’s time to face the facts. The Doctor has NEVER loved River Song. Not even a little bit. And I have 17 rock-solid, completely canonical, absolutely not contradictory reasons to prove it:
He only took her to Calderon Beta to show her the starriest night in the universe on her first night in space jail, which was also their honeymoon night. A night that is literally impossible to replicate with anyone else ever again. But no, not romantic. At. All. Just two people who happen to be married, spending a totally meaningless night under the stars.
He only stuck around for the mystery of her and once it was solved, he… checks notes …continued planning elaborate dates, risked his life for her, wrote her poetry, spent centuries in her company, and doing domestics with her. But yeah. Definitely just a phase.
He kept an entire diary to track their time together. But that’s normal, right? Just an intergalactic, timey-wimey version of a Google Calendar for the woman he definitely does not feel any sort of romance for.
He was willing to let all of time and space collapse just so they could have a linear married life. You know, because that’s what you do for a woman you have no strong romantic feelings for whatsoever.
He planned intricate dates just for her, dressed up for the occasion despite usually looking like a sentient pile of laundry, and bought her custom-tailored outfits so they could match. You know, just friendly little outings. Buddies. Chums. Mates.
Whenever she calls, he comes. No matter the situation, no matter how much danger he’s in, he drops everything and rushes to her side. He’s probably just really into checking his voicemail.
He wrote her love poetry. But, like, strictly in a platonic way. Just some totally neutral iambic pentameter for the fun of it.
Despite being universally known for his terrible time management, he is always perfectly on time for her. Which, of course, doesn’t mean anything. He just suddenly became a scheduling genius when she was around.
He keeps asking her to travel with him. Like, repeatedly. Like, he can’t take the hint that she has a life outside of running around in space. Almost like he wants her there. But that would be ridiculous.
The entire universe knows that the easiest way to lure the Doctor into a trap is to put River in danger. Because he will always come for her. But that’s not love. That’s just… reflexes.
He “only” took her to Darillium because he was lonely. And then, in an act of sheer, meaningless, absolutely not-love-driven desperation, he spent 24 years (and more) being domestic with her. Just hanging out. Not a big deal.
He built a whole planet just so they could have a little more time together. You know, because nothing says "total indifference" like terraforming an entire celestial body.
An entire archipelago, famously known as "The Lovers Dreaming Island", exists where the islands literally form the shape of their intertwined bodies. That’s just standard planet-building, really. All geography is accidental.
He physically defied the laws of the universe to hold onto her data ghost. The whole "ghosts can’t be touched" thing? He literally said, "Mmm, no thanks" then proceeded to french kiss her goodbye. But that’s really just the kind of farewell you give to someone you were forced to be with.
He keeps a spare TARDIS key inside a book called The Time Traveler’s Wife. No significance whatsoever. Probably just the only book lying around.
Her words gave him hope when nothing else could. Her voice became his mantra. But no, not love. Just, you know, some lady saying things.
But yeah, sure, he never loved her. The universe must be wrong. The Doctor must be wrong. The literal geography of an archipelago must be wrong. The foundations of time itself must be wrong. Or… maybe the Doctor is just the most emotionally repressed idiot in the cosmos, and we’ve all spent years watching a romantic tragedy disguised as sci-fi nonsense.
Final Conclusion: The Doctor absolutely, 100%, definitively does not love River Song. And if you believe that, I have a prime piece of real estate in the Medusa Cascade to sell you.

what kind of magic do you think helki uses?
idk my best guess is that he's a beastman too since his tattoos are (slightly) similar to Lycion but it doesn't make sense with his restrictive clothes (I imagine they would rip if he transformed)

Familiar users seem to be the most common among the prisoners and he has that unhinged Familiar user face too

But we never see him with a Familiar and his tattoos are in his whole body so who knows, From the ones we see with magic Tattoos Lycion has them in his whole body (chest limbs hands feet) and he transforms his whole body when using magic, Fleki has them on her chest and she controls Familiars, Cithis has them on her forehead and nose and she uses Illusion magic (which has to do with the mind)

Otta has some tattoos in her arms and she uses terraforming with her arms on the ground (and I'm not sure if those are aesthetic or magic)
So I THINK the tattoos locations have at least a little to do with the type of magic they use, but as seen above some people include random patterns that don't actually mean anything SO IT MIGHT MEAN NOTHING THATS A WHOLE BODY TATTOO
He has bands in his arms, forearms, neck, calf and fully black hands, does this mean anything, helki come one help me.
Watch it just be aesthetic tattoos and he does it exactly so people go crazy trying to figure it out

Hm, deadass tho, what does Miara think about humans exploring space and planning to terraform our sister planets? I already know Krulu is too bitter to say anything other that "foolish and pathetic"
....speaking of which do either Miara or Krulu ever plan on taking over those planets too? Like Mars, Venus and so on.
She isn't exactly fond of this.
Not even because most siadar would find it completely heretical and offensive for their own creations to leave the planets where they have been designed to live- Most of all, Miara is preoccupied about humanity getting itself into danger amongst the vast reaches of space. Although the chances are small in this particular nook of the universe, she dreads the possibility of unwanted attention being drawn to Earth.
Earth is her newfound paradise, and punishment would be torturous if humanity's ego ruined that for her.
To this end, she may subtly complicate space exploration by transforming layers of the planet's atmosphere, and in a more horrifying way, prevent technology from breaching a certain distance out of the solar system- By simply using her real size to stop it.
Both of these siadar are tethered to Earth due to very personal reasons, other planets do not yet draw any interest from them, though it is possible that they'll expand in the future, particularly Miara. Krulu will never grow the same love for creating that he once had. That spark has been scorched thoroughly, to the point where his projects will never attain too much range (by siadar standards, they're still devastatingly large for a human).

My first two murder drones OC's - Zaph aaaand my cutie patootie Xia
I love them both so muchchh
They have an interesting dynamic to say the least, especially when paired with their third team member Avi, who's a bit stuck up and they like to team up against.
These drones were designed and created specifically to scope out potentially habitable planets, and terraform/re-develop plannets to further meet human accomidation standards.
I have a-lot of ideas on this but for now I'll just say that Zaph is primarily a Drill drone - designed to drill into rich areas of plannets and collect valuble resources. Aswell as this she is the main exterminator of the group - designed to kill anything that is deemed a threat or not necessary to human survival. It is also notable that Zaph is the weakest of the group and is there for quite often picked on by Avi, however to make up for this she is very snarky and has a unique sense of humour.
Xia on the other hand is the demolitionist of the group and the main terraformer. She is designed to clear out large areas of land or "Purify" plannet cores. Aswell as this she is highly unstable as her core is self sustaining - utilising nuclear energy. This is because she, unlike Zaph and Avi, does not have the necessary functions to hunt and collect food, instead anything she'd kill would most likely discintigrate from the sheer power of her blasts.
Anyways hope u guys enjoy my lil concepts as much as i do lol <3

WIP excerpt for Plot Bunny; Kara gets to Earth on time and the Kents get a two-for-one special on free kids. (( chrono || non-chrono ))
She doesn't have the words.
Ma says something even flatter-sounding than usual, and Pa frowns. Kara tries not to panic. Tries to stay calm. Tries to–to just–
She doesn't have the words, and she doesn't know what to do. What's she supposed to do? She could run. Should she–should she just–run? Leave? Just–go?
She doesn't even know where there is to go. Doesn't know anything about this planet at all. Is this settlement terraformed? Is there desert around it, or tundra, or ice? Ocean? Swampland?
She doesn't know. If Ma and Pa get angry or throw them out or–
Ma snaps something at the boy, who balks, and a couple of the other aliens laugh. Pa says something that sounds–disapproving, maybe, and then they look embarrassed instead. Kara doesn’t know if he’s upset. Doesn’t what to do. Doesn’t . . .
Ma puts a hand on her arm and squeezes it very, very gently, and Kara–swallows, and keeps herself between Kal and the strangers. Is this . . . are they . . .?
Ma tugs her arm and leads her into the shop, and Pa shoots the boy and the other aliens a last stern look and closes the door behind them, then stands with his back right in front of it so no one can open it without hitting him. Ma keeps her hand on Kara’s arm, and Kara–Kara–
She can’t cry, because Kal needs to see her smiling, but she almost does. Are they not mad? She doesn’t know what that boy said or why the other aliens laughed, and she doesn’t know where else she and Kal could go, and she doesn’t speak the aliens’ language or know what to think of the way the boy grabbed her, but he could’ve made her drop Kal, and she just–and she–
He could’ve made her drop Kal. He could’ve gotten hurt. Could’ve gotten hurt, and it would’ve been all her fault, and she just–she just–
She feels like she can’t think right. Feels like she can’t finish a thought at all.
She feels like if Kal ever gets hurt again, she’ll just die.
She’ll do something worse than just die, if Kal ever gets hurt again.
So, so much worse.
He whines in annoyance, squirming in her arms, and she realizes she’s holding him too tight again, but–but she could’ve dropped him, and–and–
She could’ve dropped him. Could’ve let him get hurt.
Could’ve been the reason he got hurt.
She’ll do something worse than just die, if Kal ever gets hurt again.
And if he gets hurt because of her, she’ll do even worse than that.
So, so much worse.
.
.
.
Ma and Pa take them back to the farm. They don’t take anything back. They don’t throw them out. Pa makes dinner on the “greel” in the yard and Ma reads to Kal from one of the paper records while it cooks. Nothing’s any different. They act just the same as always.
As soon as Kara’s sure Kal’s asleep that night, she cries until it hurts, and then cries even harder.
She doesn’t make a sound the whole time, because she can’t wake him up.
Kal has to see her smiling.

I learned there’s a Transformers One RPG book.

There’s a catch though.
While it expands a bit on the universe…
…a lot of it is internally considered non canon due to not wanting to interfere in any possible continuations of the movie.
Like … why. Why does this exist then if most of it is considered non canon to Transformers One, that’s what the grifters call “anti-marketing”. This universe barely has anything and could use anything it can get to expand on itself better than those forgettable stop motion shorts, and the best thing we have is technically non canon and mostly a regurgitation of ultra obscure nerd trivia from the TFWIKI. -rubs temples-
I’ll admit I wound up not liking TFONE very well upon repeat watches, but I do think this is unfair for fans that did like it and got into Transformers through it and want more. The “more” being packaged in this contradictory way is kinda insulting, especially when a previous RPG book in this series got the RiD15 writers to collaborate. I guess the TFONE staff couldn’t be reached to add proper insight to some things.
So just for the sake of simplifying it, anything that’s considered non canon (and skews into broad multiversal jargon) is canon to the movie because this is the best we got, and I’m just gonna roll with it.
Zeta Prime is apparently considered similar to his IDW self, even having the Vamparc Ribbon as his signature weapon, (I guess were going to ignore his axe), as well as being an “ambitious commander with a penchant for nation-building.”
The Primes have visited Earth before, and inspired humanity’s legendary, mythological figures. What this means for the Energon supply on Cybertron when the Primes went on a road trip I dunno.
Besides the 13 presented in the film, The Arisen, Logos Prime, Autonomous Maximus and The Guiding Hand of IDW are considered Primes also. While Mortilus seems to be his own individual, Adaptus and Solomus are aliases of Amalgamous and Alpha Trion… With how often the two are paired off, I’m kinda surprised Hasbro hasn’t just retconned Amalgamous’ name to Adaptus; it’s certainly much easier to pronounce.
Mini-Cons (and Micromasters) exist via a hypothetical scenario, which at least gives Micronus SOME relevance. If it wasn’t for Hasbro suddenly acknowledging Armada again both in social media and upcoming toys, I’d assume they were trying to erase Mini-Cons with Micronus as a weird hold over.
Other origin stories (presumably for the war) use comics like War Within, IDW Unicron and IDW Megatron Origins. Origins is closer to ONE, but the rest don’t really jive with the vibe of the film. On the topic of origins, while the movie point blank says Primus exists, became Cybertron, and created the species, the book also offers the Quintesson origin, the Allspark origin and bizarrely the addendum Beast Machines offered by Cybertron originating as an Earth like planet before being terraformed. Also especially bizarre, is the inclusion of the IDW Go-Bots origin story, a story that states the Guardians & Renegades were originally built on Earth by human scientists, before an apocalypse started by Cy-Kill eventually saw the Go-Bots and Go-Botron evolve into the Transformers and Cybertron after Leader-1 and Cy-Kill die on the final battle. Earth was cradled inside Go-Botron and humanity partially devolved into tribal cave men btw, which I don’t see being part of any future TFONE lore. A similar apocalypse happens in Marvel G1’s IDW continuation, triggered by Megatron but humanity persisted and with the help of the Autobots and Nebulons, ushered in a new era once Megatron died.
None of the above really fits with TFONE, and I stand by Quints building TFs in modern lore only works if Quintus Prime was a vanity project, so if we’re to take this and the earlier visit to Earth by the Primes at face value, I can see the Primes be inadvertently responsible for the fall of Rome or Atlantis, with a horrified Solus, Quintus and Prima trying to help the humans pick up the pieces.
Pyra Magna and Windblade are name dropped, but considering that immediate benching of the Torchbearers and Windy’s own benching in favor of Elita, these two may only exist due to Jim Sorenson since it feels like Hasbro otherwise is trying to keep Pyra and Windy at arms length from current media as of typing.
Emirate Xaaron (I always thought his name was pronounced EX-Aaron) is also referenced, as a politician in Iacon, and he makes a bit more sense in context of TFONE. Windy and Pyra, by how TFONE operates, would probably be young Miners, and the way the books describe them suggest they’re colonists or just regular Cogs rather than Cogless, so…
Other antagonistic factions besides the Decepticons are referenced, and only Jhiaxus’ G2 mooks and the IDW Functionists fit with the tone set by TFONE. I wouldn’t be shocked if Sentinel himself in movie was a Functionist considering things. The Unicronian acolytes don’t really fit due to the movie being dodgy about Unicron’s role in things. Adding Unicron into a story not really about him thematically doesn’t feel right, regardless if the robots are just weirdo cultists.
And finally, the “surface beasts”. This actually feels more sincere to the story, and answers something I was curious about.

According to the book, the deerbots are the most common surface beast, and are able to eat the organic plant life growing on Cybertron, which explains how they survived without Energon. What this means for other animals isn’t specified, but the deer are considered a very delectable prey item, tasting way better than Energon.
The abundance of plants and deer droids certainly helps in filing in how other life may have survived in an Energon devoid environment.
This heavily implies the Jets probably ate deer bots in addition to whatever Energon they could scavenge. I feel like we missed a joke about Starscream trying to unsuccessfully hunt a deer droid and to get kicked in the face by one.
Aerobolt’s inclusion in concept art implies bird bots exist so Laserbeak is somewhere too, just not owned by Soundwave yet I guess.

A vapor squid, buzz boar and techno thylacine are said to exist too.
I suspect a buzz boar looks like this…

…and Transforms into this.

Could I request some human and Rung nsfw scenario? Maybe Rungs curiosity about human anatomy gets the better of him

Rung masterlist
Rung's optics fixated on the human's back, his gaze drawn to the mesmerising sight of the gears and orb shifting and glowing with an ethereal light. As he observed this phenomenon, curiosity intertwined with a sense of guilt that gnawed at his spark. Every Time he saw them a small part of him felt guilty over the fact it was his wings that had fused to them.
How had this come to pass? How did the gears and orb become fused with the human's form? These were mysteries that tugged at Rung's inquisitive nature, but the fact that ancient Cybertronian technology had melded itself to a human did intrigued him.
A smile tugged at the corners of Rung's lips as they turned to look at him, their concern evident in their gaze. They sensed something was amiss, perhaps noticing his lingering optics and the weight of unspoken thoughts that hung in the air.
"Rung, is everything alright?" their voice is filled with genuine worry. Rung's optics flickered, momentarily caught off guard by the directness of their question. He quickly composed himself.
"Of course, my dear," Rung replied, his voice gentle yet tinged with a hint of wryness. "Just lost in my thoughts, you know how it goes. How have things been since Ratchet's examination?" He offered them a small, reassuring smile, attempting to deflect their concern.
“ It went well enough, getting sick of constant check ups, he can't really do much about the orb, it doesn't hurt, it's just kinda there, occasionally it transforms into wings, just don't understand why so many tests are needed” they reply.
Rung listened attentively as the human shared their experience since Ratchet's examination, his wry smile lingering on his lips. Their weariness and frustration over the constant check-ups is understandable and Rung couldn't help but empathise. After all, he was the reason this all happened.
"It's understandable to grow weary of the constant tests and examinations," Rung acknowledged, his tone sympathetically. "Ratchet's thoroughness can sometimes feel excessive, but he truly wants to ensure your well-being. As for the orb, he's worried for your safety."
It was a phenomenon that defied conventional understanding, and Rung couldn't help but be fascinated by it, He had encountered many enigmatic phenomena during his long existence, but this fusion of technology and organic matter was a rare occurrence, but this was different, it wasn't the same as techno organic, terraformers, no this was a part of primus that had literally melted into their body. It sparked his analytical mind, he himself did not know how it came to be, prompting him to ponder the possibilities and implications of such a unique integration.
"I can't help but be intrigued by the melding of organic and mechanical elements within your form, does it affect any of your functions?" Rung asked, his voice carrying a tinge of worry.
"It was kinda hard to get used to when it first latched onto me, kinda learnt my lesson not to go looking at shooting starts again, but it only hurt for about a week and it was sore joints due to extra weight, but don't know how Cybertronians work on the inside but its like its keeping my body healthy, it healed over the burns and fixed anything it rewired, kinda feels natural now"
He knew that living with something as extraordinary as the orb's fusion could be both a blessing and challenge.
“Rung your staring, is everything alright your not having a short circuit are you, do I need to get one of the medics?” They ask, head tilted while they move closer to him.
Rung had always been adept at masking his emotions, burying his own turmoil beneath a facade of calm and composure. It was a skill he had honed over vorns, allowing him to maintain a professional front.
However, the guilt continued to linger within him, a persistent ache that he couldn't easily dismiss. He couldn't help but feel responsible for the situation, The weight of that guilt pressed heavily upon him, tugging at his spark.
Rung's gaze returned to the gears and orb on the human's back, his optics tracing their intricate movements. He yearned to understand, to unravel the mystery that lay before him. "Yes, everything is alright," Rung reassured them, his voice softening with sincerity.
Deep down, he knew that eventually, the truth behind the gears and orb on the human's back would come to light. And when it did, he hoped they would forgive him. “Well back to the lesson I guess You did ask me to help you understand human anatomy, so guess you're gonna have to bear with me as we go along" they state. "So.. where do you want to start?"
He watched as they walked closer, their presence bringing a sense of warmth and familiarity. Rung's gaze softened, his wry smile transforming into a more genuine expression.
"As for where to start, I believe it would be best to begin with the basics," Rung suggested, his tone thoughtful. "Let's start with the major anatomical systems,”
Well humans have the skeletal system, that's our bone structure, muscular system which is our skin muscle mass and a few organs of ours, cardiovascular system, our heart and vein systems, pretty much the main ones we have." They grab Rungs servos as they guild him to different body parts explaining what they were and used for. Rung's knowledge of human anatomy was limited but enthusiasm for learning was evident, his desire to expand his knowledge.
"Rung your staring again, is there something on me, do i need to get ratchet to check my back again?" They ask while quickly turning around while attempting to check the orb.
Rung blinked, momentarily snapped out of his contemplative state. He couldn't help but chuckle at the human's playfulness.
"My apologies, my dear," Rung replied, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I was simply lost in thought, pondering the various similarities between humans and Cybertronians."
"One striking similarity lies in the presence of sensory organs. Just as humans have eyes to see, Cybertronians possess optics. Similarly, humans have ears for hearing, while Cybertronians have audio receptors. The ability to perceive the world through these senses is a shared trait."
He paused for a moment, allowing his words to settle. Rung's gaze softened, his expression thoughtful. "Furthermore, both humans and Cybertronians possess a central processing unit, so to speak. For humans, it is their brain, while for Cybertronians, it is their central processor. These neural centres enable complex processes, allowing for consciousness, decision-making, and emotional experiences."
Rung's voice carried a hint of excitement as he continued to unveil the similarities.
"And let us not forget the significance of the spark," Rung added, his voice taking on a reverent tone. "Just as humans have their hearts, the spark serves as the core of a Cybertronian's being. It is the seat of their life force, their essence. The spark is what defines a Cybertronian, just as the heart defines a human." One of his digits press lightly against their chest as he processes the sound of their heart beat, so similar yet different from a spark pulse.
Rung can feel the wings calling to his spark again as if they were calling though their heart. As the alluring feeling echoed in his processor, Rung couldn't deny the sharp pang of desire that surged through his circuits. His optics drank in the human's form, appreciating the unique beauty that lay before him. He leaned back in his chair, trying to maintain his composure despite the rising heat in his spark. Rung's gaze remained fixed on them, his optics betraying a mixture of curiosity and desire.
"I must admit, I find myself wondering about the intricacies of human interfacing," Rung confessed, his voice lowering to a more intimate tone. "It is a concept that Cybertronians are quite familiar with, as it serves as a means of connection, pleasure, and profound intimacy. I was wondering if humans have something similar" He wanted to delve deeper into the human experience, to explore the nuances of their desires and connections, and how different they are from Cybertronian.
They meet Rung's optics. “Rung, are you trying to proposition me?” They ask with a laugh, teasing him. Rung's optics widened slightly at the human's teasing response, caught off guard by their playful accusation. a rare display of embarrassment that betrayed his composed exterior. He quickly regained his composure, a wry smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"Ah, I assure you that my intentions are purely intellectual," Rung replied quickly, shaking his servos while trying to save face, his voice laced with amusement. "As a psychiatrist, I have a natural curiosity about the intricacies of different species' experiences, including the concept of human interfacing." He paused for a moment, allowing his words to sink in before continuing, his tone retaining its intimacy and sincerity. “Oh I'm not helping my case” he mumbles.
They laugh, head thrown back as little snorts come from them before they settle. “I'm just teasing Rung, I promise, but your face oh my God it was priceless” they continue to giggle. Rung's optics flickered with a mix of relief and amusement “ cheeky i see” a gentle smile crossed his lips a hint of wryness lingers.
"you certainly know how to keep me on my pedes," Rung replied, his voice returning to its usual calm and composed tone. "I must admit, your playful nature caught me off guard for a moment there."
“Please continue Rung i just couldn't help myself” they reply waiting for him to continue his line of thought.
"Cybertronian interfacing is a deeply personal and profound act, encompassing both physical and emotional connection," Rung explained, his voice gentle yet filled with wisdom. "It serves as a means of not only pleasure but also forging intimate bonds and strengthening relationships. I was more curious if humans have a similar concept." He states while pressing his glasses back up his face.
“Well humans, we call it intercorse, sex, love making, reproduction. Kinda depends on the person but it's a mix of doing it for Fun, pleasure, stress relief, commitment to another or to have kids” they explain to Rung as he listens in rather fascinated.
With that, Rung leaned back slightly, his posture relaxed and open, “ so rather similar to Cybertronians” he mumbles before he looks back at them. 'They crave you' the words echo through his processor making his servo clench onto the arm of his chair, reminding him of the hidden desires that now threaten to consume his thoughts.
"I'm open for you to learn more, take a more hands on approach, just be gentle, don't ruin my clothes'' they respond. It nearly takes Rung off guard again, His optics widened ever so slightly. His spark fluttered with a mixture of anticipation and caution.
"Only if you are certain," Rung replied, his voice steady yet tinged with a touch of warmth. "I assure you, I will be as gentle as can be, and I'll do my best to avoid any mishaps with your clothing." He allowed his servo to rest on their leg, his touch light and cautious. Rung's gaze remained fixed on the human, his optics filled with a mixture of curiosity and wonder. He was acutely aware of the privilege bestowed upon him, the opportunity to learn and explore the depths of human interfacing.
"Before we proceed, I must emphasise the importance of clear communication," Rung continued, his voice soft and earnest. "If at any point you feel uncomfortable or wish to stop, please let me know, or we can adjust accordingly. Your comfort is of utmost importance to me." With those words, Rung's servo shifted slightly, the touch remaining gentle as he removed their shirt. His optics drank in the sight before him, captivated by their skin, the scared marks that run across their skin from the wing mechanism.
Rung's gaze lingered, his optics filled with a mix of guilt as he traces the scars before his digit runs along the ever shifting orb. He awaited their response.
"I'll let you know Rung” they reply, the give a come here motion to him waiting for him to lean down. When he does they lean up and kiss him.
'They are yours to Claim Primus, they wear your wings to present themself for only you' the echoed words linger only for him to hear. Rung Slowly moving, examining and studying their soft form. His servos and digits continued to explore the human's form, his touch gentle yet purposeful. Each reaction, each sound that spilled from their lips, fueled his desire to provide pleasure and to elicit even more of those delightful sounds only for him to hear. Rung's spark pulsed with a mix of anticipation and a growing hunger.
As the human moaned his name, louder and more desperate, Rung felt a shiver of excitement ripple through his frame. It was an affirmation of their desire, "stunning," Rung breathed, his voice laced with a mixture of desire and affection. "Let's move this to a more comfortable place. Rung stood, their body clinging to him as he swiftly moved towards the berth. Rung felt a surge of delight as the human clung to him, their smile reflecting their eagerness for what lay ahead. He savoured the sound of their small squeal
Rung's spark pulsed with anticipation as he led them to the berth he discarded his glasses on the bench as he laid them onto the berth. their bodies pressed intimately against each other. The urging whispers echoed in his audials, Rung gently lowered the human onto the soft surface, their combined heat and desire filling the air around them. His optics drank in the sight before him, a beautiful and willing form laid bare, their pants discarded and their need evident. The moans that escaped their lips fueled his own desire, spurring him to explore further.
"Is this alright?" Rung murmured, his voice husky with desire. With a gentle touch, Rung's digits pressed against their entrance, a wave of pleasure coursing through both of their frames. “Yes, more than alright” The desire in their voice, their plea for more, stirred a primal heat within him, urging him to grant their request. Rung's own arousal was evident.
With each deliberate movement, Rung explored their softness and elicited more moans from their lips. He revelled in their responsiveness, digits pressing deeper and stretching them open, they buck into his hand "Please, Rung," pleads spilling from their lips, their voice laced with a desperate need.
Rung's spark surged with a mix of adoration and desire as he responded to their plea, his touch becoming more focused and deliberate.
Rung continued to explore, to bring them both closer to the precipice of ecstasy. Their shared desire and trust fueled his own arousal, but his focus remained on their pleasure, on guiding them towards a peak of bliss that they both craved.
His little human moans and begs for more. The wing mechanism releases and the metal wings transform, Spread out across the berth from the human's back the wings flutter in delight against their back.. Their legs shake each time Rung's digits thrust back into their soft velvet walls.
'They are ready, claim them, claim them as yours Primus,' Rung's optics widened in surprise and disbelief as the wing mechanism on the human's back released, transforming into metal wings that spread out across the berth. His spark skipped a beat, a mix of awe and realisation surging through him, they looked stunning with his wings, very different from when he last wore them but yet they suited them so well.
His processors whirred, a whirlwind of conflicting emotions and desires swirling within him. Rung knew that his wings were a manifestation of who he was, a symbol of his duty and purpose.
"Divine," Rung murmured, his voice a mixture of reverence and uncertainty. Rung's digits continued their thrusting, his touch seeking to bring the human closer to their peak of pleasure. Their moans and the trembling of their legs fueled his own desire, “that's it, let go overload for me” he whispers against their ear.
"Please, more" they moaned, their voice filled with a mix of need and desire. Rungs' other servo comes up to cradle their face. He slowly pulls his digits away moving so that he could be as close to them as the size difference allowed. Rung's own arousal surged, his spark pulsing with a mix of longing and restraint.
Rung moves with purpose and care, his interface plating releases as he slowly presses up against them. “Are you alright?” he asked again only to receive a nod as they try pulling him closer. He slowly presses into their smaller body, the sudden heat and pleasure that hits has him groaning loudly.
"Rung!" They cry out loudly as run sinks into them, arms shooting up to grip onto him. His servo moves Their legs, shifting to rest around his hips, slowly he starts to move and starts thrusting. Their back arches off the bed, wings fluttering and sprawling out more as moans fall from their lips.
Rung's spark surged with a mixture of desire and adoration as the human cried out his name, their voice filled with a potent combination of pleasure and need, need only for him. The sight of their back arching off the bed, their wings fluttering and sprawling out more, stirred a primal heat within Rung, this was for him, they had come to him.
Rung's thrusts were deliberate and measured, aimed at bringing them both closer to pleasure. With each movement, he elicited a symphony of moans and gasps.
“Your stunning, my stunning divine" Rung calls out, his voice laced with desire and tenderness.
The human's moans echoed in his audials, their pleas for more spurring him on. Rung's own arousal surged, his pace quickening as the intensity mounted. The tighten of their body have surging towards the peak of bliss.
He relished every reaction, every gasp and moan that fell from their lips. Wishing he could have them on repeat, he could melt just from how their eyes water, how they bite their lip as pleasure takes them.
Rung's voice became a low and soothing presence amidst the growing intensity.
"Let go, my dear," he urged again, his voice filled with a mix of desire and tenderness. "I've got you. Please come undone for me"
Together, they succumbed to the overwhelming wave of ecstasy, their bodies trembling with the intensity of their release. Rung held them close, venting heavily. ‘His’ wings enfolding them in a gentle embrace as they rode out the aftershocks of their shared pleasure.
They choke out as Rung lifts them up, resting on his knees as he pulls them up with him. Through hazed eyes it's like Rung's plating is Gold, the wings cling to him and for a brief moment when their orgasm hits, they see him. A glimpse of the bot Rung once was.
Gold and silver plating blue markings down his faceplate. Their hand extends to trace one of the diamonds of glowing blue.
Gently, Rung held them close, his touch and embrace a grounding presence amidst the ethereal moment that had just passed. His optics met theirs, a mixture of warmth and deskre shining within them.
And as they remained in each other's embrace, basking in the afterglow of their shared pleasure, Rung held onto their exhausted form, Their head resting on Rung chassis panting as he rolled them so he's laying down. The wings flutter and twitch but make no move to transform back. fingers tracing lines on his plating, it's the orange now, not the shimmering gold they had seen before.
The question that escaped their lips was soft and filled with curiosity, their voice carrying a sense of wonder. "What... what are you?"
Rung's optics softened as he contemplated their question. "I am Rung," he replied, his tone gentle yet resolute. "A psychiatrist aboard the Lost Light, here to help guide and support those who seek solace and understanding."
He paused for a moment, allowing the weight of their question to settle in. The significance of their vision and perception was not lost on him. It spoke to the depth of his spark.
"But I am more than that," Rung continued, his voice carrying a hint of wry amusement. "I am a being who has lived and experienced much more than others give me credit for. An old spark, if you will. Older than most"
He shifted slightly, allowing the human to remain comfortable in his embrace as he continued to run his fingers along their frame. The sensation of their touch, combined with their question, stirred a mix of emotions within Rung.
"I am a bot who has walked many paths, witnessed the ebb and flow of countless lives," Rung explained. "I was once known as Primus, keeper of the all-spark, the divine essence that flows through all of cybertron."
"But I am also just Rung," he added, his voice filled with warmth. As Rung spoke, his touch remained gentle and comforting, his fingers intertwining with theirs. The significance of their vision and their perception of him as the bot he once was, Primus, held a profound impact on their shared experience.
"You have seen something special," Rung concluded, his voice filled with gratitude. "A glimpse into the depths of my being, the intertwining of my own spark. and the divine."
"The wings, they are yours aren't they?" A mixture of emotions swirled within Rung, a sense of awe, nostalgia, and a tinge of sadness. He had thought those wings were lost forever, a relic of his distant past. But now, seeing them once again, merged with another being, it was a profound revelation.
"Those wings were once mine, a part of me from a time long ago." He carefully reached out, his fingers tracing along the edges of the wings, feeling the familiar energy pulsating through them. It was a bittersweet reunion, a reminder of who he once was and the journey he had undertaken since then.
"I never imagined I would see them again," Rung continued, his voice tinged with a wistful tone. "To witness them melded with another, it is a testament to the resilience of them, but I'm sorry it was you they joined with” the remorse in his voice is evident
"I'm not," they whisper, “they brought me here so i have to thank them, i just wasn't expecting this. Wasn't expecting the God of Cybertron playing therapist to a ragtag mixed bunch” they reply, it makes him chuckle as he pulls them further up his chassis. “you have me there my dear”.

One Shots
Good To Me (a f s) by @httpjeon ⊹₊⋆ club ardor holds a special raffle for a free night with a man who will supposedly be the boyfriend of your dreams. you definitely don’t expect to win.
a word from our sponsors (a s f) by @ugh-yoongi ⊹₊⋆ you’ve co-hosted a podcast with namjoon for three years; have known him even longer. the two of you have always been the picture of platonic, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from doing what the internet does. the shipping? a little weird at first, but you can understand it: two attractive twenty-somethings always in close proximity to one another, obvious (platonic!) chemistry—people have created ships for less. the fanfiction, though? also pretty funny… until you can’t stop thinking about it.
baby fever (f) by @95rkives ⊹₊⋆ what was supposedly a peaceful morning stroll in the park, an unexpected encounter triggers namjoon’s intense desire for a baby, turning him into an adorable, baby fever-filled mess.
Dom Daddy Joon (s) (ft. Jungkook) by @joonsmagicshop ⊹₊⋆ When Namjoon catches you doing something you aren't supposed to be doing he decides to punish you, and lets his maknae join in on the fun
new guy (s) by @kithtaehyung ⊹₊⋆ all you want to do is have a successful meeting after experiencing dwindling attendance. but the new guy is completely disrupting things... or is he?
all night (s) (ft. yoongi) by @axigailxo ⊹₊⋆ in which listening to music during a smoke sesh with your best friends namjoon and yoongi in the studio turns into much more
Pheromones (s) by @rmnamjoons ⊹₊⋆ As the botanist on a deep-space exploration vessel, you’ve seen your fair share of weird and unexplainable. This large pink alien flower you and your crew picked up on one of the outer terraformed mining planets, however, might just take the cake. You’re pretty sure it’s fine, but you’ve been ordered to study the plant and determine whether or not it’s safe for humans to be around, and you’re having trouble discerning what exactly is inside the alien flower’s bulb that just refuses to bloom. Namjoon — the captain of your ship and the man you’ve been secretly in love with since first joining the Galactic Academy — is eager to help you any way he can, but just as love begins to bloom, so does the alien flower.
love.fm (a f) by @ugh-yoongi ⊹₊⋆ you know three things for certain: jeon jeongguk will do anything to inconvenience you, kim seokjin is an absolute bastard for putting you in charge of the station’s holiday show, and you’ve got a lot of regrets about the way your relationship ended. however, you also know spending the last two years on your own has done you some good. you’ve got a new haircut, an apartment with a bay window, and a rescue dog.
there’s also the stranger who keeps writing into the station about regrets of their own. the stranger whose prose feels so familiar. the stranger who leaves you wondering if things with your ex are quite as resolved as you think.
Embrace (s f) by @rmnamjoons ⊹₊⋆ You and Namjoon have been best friends for years, and you’ve been secretly in love with him basically the entire time. You both love cuddling and being close, much to the amusement of your friends, but to you, being with Namjoon like this means everything. You’ve always believed that Namjoon didn’t feel the same way as you, no matter how much you wanted him to, but maybe there is actually something else behind Namjoon’s cuddles, other than just innocent friendship.
Love Language (s f) by @rmnamjoons ⊹₊⋆ Exactly one year before one meets their soulmate, their love’s first words spoken to them appear as a tattoo on their wrist. When Namjoon’s tattoo appears, however, it’s not of words, but of the most beautiful set of eyes he’s ever seen.
Merry Kissmass (s f) by @taleasnewastime ⊹₊⋆ Thunder and Lightning, very, very frightening, well, that statement has never been truer than now. Sat in a cabin in the middle of the woods, in the middle of a storm, alone. It’s the worst decision you’ve ever made, why didn’t you just go to that spa as a Christmas treat? Why did you come here? And just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse there’s a banging at the door. Pretty sure it’s a murderer, you stupidly see who’s there only to be met with a dimple filled smile, and a very large, very damp man. Well, maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea.
Castaways (a f s) by @rmnamjoons ⊹₊⋆ You’ve always hated the ocean. Open water terrifies you, and you stay as far away from it as possible for self-preservation and peace of mind. Despite this, your friend somehow convinces you to go on a luxury cruise with her, her boyfriend Hoseok, and Hoseok’s nerdy friend Namjoon, who’s almost cute enough to distract you from your debilitating fears. When a sudden storm hits, however, you and Namjoon are swept overboard and find yourselves castaway on a desert island somewhere in the vast South Pacific.

i know that you've probably said it somewhere before, but i can't find it, so i wanted to ask- which character is which in Warped Beyond Recognition? i know you've listed off their subject numbers and titles in art, but i am struggling to figure out what actual names belong to which of the kids :(
I've laid it out a few times before; but here are the teenagers once more and how they're coming along in our care (heavy spoilers for the module "Warped Beyond Recognition", if you plan on playing or running it yourself);
Evander Budaj, Subject 01; "The Mech". Can psychically control any machine he can see and understand, including Androids. "Disfavored son" of a high ranking corporate figurehead. Went through an accelerated military training course and didn't come out with very good marks, but had an interest in machinery. Originally built his personality from watching old action movies, but is slowly relearning how to be a real hero with our crew. Learning strength, temperance, and selflessness from Adolfo. Still a bit of a goof, though. :)
Miriam Rios, Subject 02; "The Spider". Can extend her consciousness between multiple detached limbs (both flesh and prosthetic), controlling them apart from herself. Likely an orphan before the company got a hold of her. Had her legs brutally amputated with no anesthetic prior to her warp test, and experienced a mental break that reduced her to pure animal instinct. Has since gotten new prosthetic legs, and is slowly acclimating and finding herself again, through music. Caleb's adoptive daughter.
Billy Wei, Subject 03; "The Director". Was able to mind-control humans and puppet them into doing whatever he wanted. His parents had no hope for his future in theater, so they sold him off to the company for research and testing. We killed him the day we found him. Caleb has since been seeing him out of the corner of their eye, and the last time they saw him, he spoke to them. I don't think Billy's gone for good.
Jonesy Babbitt, Subject 04; "The Dreamer". Can put out psychic illusions, things that are ultimately not there but look and feel extremely real. Can also pull others into imagined alternate realities, trapping them within. Was brought onto the research vessel under false pretenses of earning credits in "academy classes for terraforming". Since rescuing, has become a younger brother to Sparks, living with her full time. Hopes to make better worlds, and into fantasy and medieval stories.
Yu Yin, Subject 05; "The Warp". Body became extremely unstable after her warp test. Anything she touched or interacted with would turn inside out on itself and violently fractal, including flesh. Previously a nun, company bought her from a slave trade to perform tests on. She's since been re-sleeved (had her consciousness uploaded into an entirely different body), and seems to have been stabilized that way. Never wants to participate in space travel again, in fear of losing herself again. We don't blame her. She'll likely find a religious body to dedicate herself to on Ortega Station.
Sonia Ellison, Subject 06; "The Ship". Cybernetically melded to the ship. Can see through the cameras across the ship, close and lock doors, redirect oxygen, and even engage warp drive. Has military intel training, and was at the top of her class in flight school. Was the catalyst in letting the other test subjects escape. Pretty chill with her current self, perhaps even happier as an entire ship now? Sparks handles mechanical upkeep across her new body, and in turn, Sonia does us the favor of acting as our ship while we do our freelancing. Sonia's the real boss, though. ;)

you say the people on Qefre know that they're non-native, but do not know how they came to be there, nor from whence they came
I understand that they've been there for some time, do they have anything on the level of myth, or even idk widespread conspiracy theory about how they got to Qefre?
There are widespread legends about the godlike beings that made Qefre habitable millennia ago and seeded it with life, eventually bringing (or some say, creating) humans to populate the planet. Many of these legends are probably even accurate in the broad strokes, they're just incredibly lacking in detail. The Qefrais generally recognize that these beings weren't literally supernatural, but were in some sense like themselves, only with much more advanced technology. They also believe that these godlike beings left behind a kind of artificial servitor-race, which advised and guided the early Qefrais, but which now are either also departed, or are no longer involved in human affairs. This is also accurate: the artificial intelligences which were once responsible for maintaining the terraforming network long ago apparently ceased to function, for uncertain reasons.
Qefre does have its superstition, ritual, and mythology, it's just that these things are not usually felt to be necessary to explain how humans came to live on this planet. It is also generally understood that, whether the original human population was created in situ or brought from elsewhere, humans originally come from another planet far away, and that this planet was probably a lot like Qefre is now. Since all life on Qefre is of common terrestrial lineage, it's probably possible to learn a bit about the natural history of that life just from studying its genetics and evolution, though of course this enterprise would be severely hampered by the lack of a fossil record or access to Earth's geological history, and by notable absences in extant species: Qefre has no non-human primates, for example. And some species, like the aquatic grasses in the equatorial seas, were genetically engineered to help manage the planet's long term climactic stability, in ways that might confuse attempts to construct a coherent phylogeny of the Plantae kingdom.
Qefrais civilization is at least 2,500 years old, and while that's quite a long time, there also was no equivalent of a long Neolithic age or hunter-gatherer societies. The earliest human communities on Qefre evidently lived in cities, already had writing and agriculture, and even (through the relics of ancient technology they obtained from various ruins) had limited access to the benefits of advanced metallurgy and sophisticated medical technology--though they did not clearly understand the principles by which these things worked.
#qefre#worldbuilding#tanadrin's fiction#the qefrais had access to high-quality antibiotics before they ever invented firearms#this also contributed substantially to population growth as you might imagine#the whole planet is descended from a small but genetically diverse founder population#possibly as few as five thousand individuals

Do we know what magic Helki uses? Me and a non-dunmeshi fan friend were talking and I was explaining magic and tattoos as conduits to them and showed some examples of elves with tattoos and one of them was Helki. She made the (joke)theory that Helki is a lubricant user:] Could that be possible lol since we don't really see tattoos like his (hand all black and some stripes on arms iirc) and where they are could (?) actually make sense for that type of magic😭
this is an incredibly stupid ask and theory😋👍
-askhelki mod lmao
Hello! We don't really know what magic he uses no 😔
I got a similar question before and my best guess apparently was that he was a beastmen? I don't think that makes sense tho, it was only based on the fact he has full body tattoos, he wears clothes that would be torn everytime he transforms and his tattoos are way simpler than the other beastmen we see
Here's my other considerations from that post:
From the ones we see with magic Tattoos Lycion has them in his whole body (chest limbs hands feet) and he transforms his whole body when using magic, Fleki has them on her chest and she controls Familiars, Cithis has them on her forehead and nose and she uses Illusion magic Otta has some tattoos in her arms and she uses terraforming with her arms on the ground (and I'm not sure if those are aesthetic or magic) So I THINK the tattoos locations have at least a little to do with the type of magic they use, but as seen above some people include random patterns that don't actually mean anything SO IT MIGHT MEAN NOTHING THAT'S A WHOLE BODY TATTOO He has bands in his arms, forearms, neck, calf and fully black hands, does this mean anything, helki come on help me.

From the comments in that post my favorite theory was body enhancement but honestly your guess is as good as mine
Now if he might be a lubricant user? Sure why not I've heard is pretty op

okay y'all seemed to like the last one so here's a few more Horizon 3 thoughts:
Aloy won’t die. It would completely upend the series’ themes and just be really nihilistic.
Since Nemesis is a gestalt entity I think it’s a safe bet that we’ll see Sam Witwer, Carrie-Anne Moss, etc again. I’m curious how they’re going to do it because at least structurally, it’s basically a reaper. Maybe it’ll use different Avatars when communicating like the Leviathan in ME3.
It's gonna take some work to make a flashback/dream/vision not contrived but I would love to see Varl and Rost again. I think we deserve that.
Minerva is gonna have its work cut out for it blocking access to both the dormant Faro Swarm and the ZD terraforming system.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Nemesis has some sort of corruption function that becomes the equivalent of the corruption in HZD. It would be a really fun tech showcase if GG uses Zenith nanotech for machine corruption and leans into mechanical body horror.
If we’re going to Ban-Ur I really really hope they do the work to make the Banuk less problematic and more fleshed out as a culture. A quasi-Spartan society absolutely would not survive in an extreme environment, *especially* without megafauna to hunt. The Banuk characters are lovely and well-written; they deserve a society as well thought out as the Utaru or Carja. I’m honestly fine if there’s retcons or revamps to the cultural lore because the whole “outsider barges in and becomes chief” is rooted in racist, colonial tropes and we just don’t really need that imo.
The most recent footage of Death Stranding 2 (also running on Decima) has me SO excited for the visuals. GG’s gonna knock it out. The facial rendering and animation that Kojima Productions are doing looks industry-peak and I’m sure GG’s gonna match that. Aloy’s Gay Panic™️ scene on the beach in HBS is already top-tier nonverbal storytelling through animation. Digital Foundry actually just posted a really cool tech breakdown of the current Decima engine. I’m especially excited about the environmental stuff. The ocean simulations in HFW are already incredible and I hope they increase verticality in the world. I can’t wait to see the Sacred Lands in current gen graphics.
I really love Kotallo’s DIY arm and it’s so so important to his development but Beta and Gaia now have access to Zenith nanotech, maybe give your buddy a sick upgrade hmm?
Speaking of, I can’t wait to see Beta come into her own. She’s one of the best parts of HFW and Aloy’s character absolutely shines in a sibling dynamic.
I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a romance mechanic. Everyone’s feelings on that aside, it would be really odd from a game development perspective to just overhaul part of how the narrative develops Aloy’s character in the last act of the story. Yeah, there are flashpoints but I would argue that the presence of choice in Horizon is smoke and mirrors- cosmetic at best. Kentucky Route Zero (which you should play) does something similar where the player is given a certain amount of control over the substance of individual conversations and scenarios and it does absolutely nothing to alter the plot, by design. I think it’s the same here - this isn’t really a choice-based RPG, the flashpoints don’t really affect anything plot-wise or for Aloy’s character development. Olin is still out of the story, Nil lives, Regalla still dies one way or another. Aloy’s character development is pretty firmly on rails (think Jin Sakai, not Shepard - you get to guide some momentary character reactions but that’s it). I don’t think HBS is a testing ground either - If they were gonna introduce a romance mechanic I think they’d just do it, and not spend two years making a direct continuation of HFW’s main quest and establishing a specific romance hard-baked into the plot, complete with multiple leitmotifs for the character relationship (which is something they haven’t done before afaik) just to introduce a side quest mechanic coming in 5 years. I genuinely can’t think of any game or dev that has beta tested a major alteration to upcoming game mechanics that way - it doesn’t really make any sense in terms of developer resources, and these games are extremely time-consuming to make. I know this is a thing a bunch of people want and I can totally empathize with that! I just think it’s probably not on the table.
I would bet money the series will bookend itself and the epilogue will involve a) the naming of Zo and Varl’s kid and b) Lis’ pendant.
Mostly I'm just looking forward to being surprised. One of my favorite things that Horizon does is use carefully established elements in the world to pull the plot in unexpected directions and keeping the world grounded while they lean into speculative science fiction. I can't wait to see what Guerrilla is cooking up
