"What is that?..." You mumbled to yourself, drying your hands on the kitchen towel.

You had been in the middle of chopping vegetables for you and Eddie, when a squeeky noise from the living room caught you off guard.

"Eds? Are you okay sweetheart?"

This morning, Eddie had promised to treat you. He was going to cook your favourite pasta dish for dinner. Cooking was one of his hidden talents, and he adored creating wholesome and hearty meals for you.

But, no sooner as the day began, your partner began to slip. Throughout the months of your relationship, you had learned Eddie's behaviours like the back of your hand. You knew the signs. Silent leg bounces and lip bites were enough of an indicator; before long he would tripping over the carpet, staring doe eyed, unable to navigate through his thoughts or his surroundings, ready to surrender to little space.

Today was no exception, as fifteen minutes ago you set Eddie down on his beanbag with a colouring book, kissing the top of his head softly before venturing into the kitchen to cook the pasta instead. You didn't mind. Your little guy needed a break. After everything he'd been through, you understood he needed time to relax, escape, and lose reality for a little while.

Peeking around the kitchen door, you realised that Eddie had left his beanbag, and crawled towards a fluffy toy that lay in the centre of the floor.

"What you got there?" You asked, intrigued by what the brunette was up too.

"Funnwy noise! Wook!" Eddie responded with glee, gesturing for you to look at his discovery.

Gently plucking the toy out of his fingers, you realised that this belonged to your dog. For Halloween this year, you had purchased a squeaky bat toy for your puppy, and now it seemed little Eddie had taken a liking to it.

"Eds, this belongs to the doggy. I'm sorry bubba, it isn't yours."

You tried to keep your tone quiet and caring, but you could see your partners lip starting to quiver.

"Hey, hey, it's okay little one. Remember, you have soooo many other toys to play with, don't you?" You picked up Eddie's dragon plushie, waving it with a smile.

But Eddie didn't smile back. Tears began to well in his eyes, as he gazed sadly at the dog toy.

"But... I wan the bat..."

"I know sweetie, but I'm so sorry I can't let you have it. It's been in the dogs mouth, and she's probably stepped all over it too." You explained softly, hoping to appease him.

"But.. but.."

Cries escaped his mouth before he could finish his sentence, hiccuping as he tried to supress his small sobs of defeat.

"Oh honey, it's okay, come here" You cooed, opening your arms to hug the little guy.

"NO!" Eddie screamed, turning his back on you, tears streaming down his delicate features.

Your heart shattered. You loved him more than anything in the world, and you wished you could give him everything he ever wanted. But he couldn't have that bat toy. You needed to make this right.

In a brainwave, you quickly opened your phone, typed in some keywords, and punched in your credit card details, before turning your attention back towards Eddie, who was now laying on the floor in adorable protest.

The following day wasn't much better. Your little curly haired menace tossed and turned all night, and was now sat sulking in front of the television, his legs tucked into his chest.

You motioned to the bowl of chicken nuggets on the table. "Come on sweetheart, aren't you going to eat your yummy nuggets?"

Shaking his head, Eddie frowned, his eyes fixed on the TV screen.

"Bubba, plea-

Ding Dong

The sound of the doorbell diverted your focus, and you padded over to the door. You breathed a sigh of relief when you saw the parcel delivery man. You'd been anticipating this package since the moment you ordered it the previous evening.

"Eddieeeeeee" You sang, headed back over to the sofa. "Look what's hereeeee"

Perching next to him, you allowed Eddie to take the small brown box from your hands.

"F-for me?"

"Yes! You can go ahead and open it."

Keeping your fingers crossed, you watched in optimism as your little brunette teared into the paper, to reveal a brand new bat plushie.

Eddie's face lit up, a smile wider than any you'd ever seen from him before. Your heart fluttered, as he threw his arms around you with a childlike force.

"Oh my Gawd! A new bat! Fank you fank you!!" He exclaimed, hugging the bat close to his chest.

You exhaled, cupping your partners chin, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek. "Anything for you, my little bubba."

With a grin, Eddie lay his head on your lap, catching up on the cuddles he had missed over the past 24 hours.

"I wove you, Y/N."

"I love you too, Eddie."

I'm kinda shy and I'm not used to talking about this- but, I guess this is a question to you out of character, I was wondering if I could ask about age regression? I don't know, I think given a lot of my issues, it'd help. But I don't have anybody to take care of me, to help me. And I think I'd be too scared to be so vulnerable and alone? I'm sorry if this is too deep! I'm just? AHH? You know? (⁠;⁠ŏ⁠﹏⁠ŏ⁠)

For me, age regression has helped me with a lot of stress, and a lot of things I've gone through in the past. It gives me a chance to give myself a better childhood, since I grew up too fast, and since I experienced a lot of things in my childhood that I shouldn't have. (And since I'm trans, I didn't get to have a boy's childhood, so now I get to have one! Yay!)

I also don't really have anyone to take care of me (As much as I want/need it) but I've made do with what I've got! I have a few stuffed animals (Such as Djungelskog, he's my favorite) and my action figures! (Gambit and Spider-Punk) Whenever I feel lonely, I just kinda- Play pretend, y'know? If I don't really feel motivated to do anything, I just give one of my toys a voice (Either mentally or verbally) and have them "take care" of me that way. (Ex: If I don't feel like eating anything but I know I have to, I get Gambit to encourage me/I keep him next to me when I'm making something to eat.)

If you have other people in your life who know about age regression and are willing, you could always ask them to take care of you as well! (If not, you can stick to playing pretend until you're ready ofc) But, refrain from asking people online to take care of you. Unless you've known them for a long time and are aware that their intentions are pure, looking for a CG/babysitter online can be VERY dangerous. Never ask a stranger to be your CG right away! You wouldn't trust a complete stranger to take care of your child, so it's not a good idea to trust them with your inner child.

Another option would be agere askblogs! (Like this one!) Most of the time, it kinda works like a daycare of sorts. They're nothing permanent, you just stop by when you feel like you need to be taken care of, talk to them, ask questions... Sometimes you can even ask for virtual hugs! There's not really any risks as far as I'm aware. It's different than asking a stranger online to be your permanent CG, since most of the time you aren't talking to a blog one-on-one in DM's. They're usually just one-off things for when you need to be taken care of! Though, if you suspect that a blog might be NSFW and/or they message you privately and you feel unsafe, get outta there! It's rare, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. So, be cautious!

Age regression can be lonely. Believe me, I've been there. But there's ways to quell that loneliness, even if it's just for a little while. I hope my advice was helpful, even just a little bit! And I'm proud of you for speaking up, even if it's anonymously! Expressing your feelings is super duper good for you! Okay, I don't know if I'm alone with it, but I can't stop thinking about Saltburn characters as age regressors & CGs, especially Felix..

I'm sorry, but this man boy had a broken bike, and instead of just.. pushing it to the destination that wasn't too far, (especially not with this long legs!!?!) all he did was sulk and sigh in the hopes somebody would take pity? He definitely belongs in the baby pile!!

Same with Annabel.. You can't tell me she doesn't use regression to cope with her messed up family life, and the fact that she had to survive in the shadow of her golden child brother..

Anyways, here are Saltburn AgeRe head canons:

Felix mainly regresses for fun and to give his true emotions an outlet.

His regression also helps to heal his inner child from the emotional neglect he had to experience throughout his childhood, but he hasn't quite figured that out yet.

He keeps it "secret" from his parents, cuz they wouldn't understand..

Elsbeth knows technically, but she thinks it's a k1nk thing & she doesn't care.

James also knows.. He doesn't understand it, but he places some baby stuff in Felix's room as a surprise every once in a while.. Felix doesn't know they're from his dad.

Duncan has become some sort of primary caregiver for Felix.

He takes credit for the gifts, because he really enjoys the happy dances, thank you hugs and pictures he gets from little Felix. Ducan thinks "if the gift giver didn't put their name on it, they probably didn't want Felix to know anyways, so there's no harm in taking the credit."

He really enjoys how loving, cuddly and vulnerable little Felix can get.

Duncan feels like he can finally raise a child of his own. (He never had time for even a relationship, bc of his job.)

Felix is still a little brat when tiny, he was raised to be one, so it's hard to shake off.

He throws fits, cries, yells or even throws physical things, when something is not going his way.

Annabel knows about his regression and is not sure how to bring up that she also is part of the baby pile.

She found it helps her cope with her mental health issues, she mainly regresses involuntarily, after bad episodes.

Felix ends up finding out and they have playdates sometimes, but they often end up fighting.

Big Felix also judges/ makes fun of her for "not being able to control her regression". He doesn't understand the concept of involuntary regressing.

He has a really hard time realizing that not everyone is exactly like him, that's just a result of being the golden child.

Annabel is often sad/ upset when tiny.

She also gets jealous when she sees how loving Duncan is to Felix.

But she also really wants Felix to like and play with her, she's desperate for his approval and a sibling connection.

At one point James finds his daughter crying, that's nothing unusual, but this time he could tell it was different.. she seemt so incredibly small and fragile.

He becomes her primary cg after that night, and their relationship immensely improves.

Felix gets upset because he doesn't get as many gifts anymore though and gives Deacon he'll for it, still thinking they where from him lol

He's happy to see Annabel and James creating such a loving relationship, but he'd never say that out loud.. he's a little jealous at the same time aswell tho.

Farleigh also finds out about their regression, but is not sure what to make of it.

He kind of wants to take care of the little ones sometimes, and that scares him.

Little Felix giggles a lot, he likes running around and playing outside & in the water.

He's also an absolute cuddle bug, but only with Ducan. He follows him around like a lost puppy and constantly seeks physical touch. (Grabbing his hand/ arm, hugging him, etc.)

Felix also really enjoys showing off his skills, to get praise from his cg.

Ducan has a whole chest full of pictures, crafts and learning pages little Felix did.

Annabel is more of the quiet type, she likes coloring and just snuggling with her Papa or a plushie.

James really values this second chance at being a good dad to his daughter, he felt a lot of remorse for always prioritizing Felix.

Annabel and Felix's relationship also ends up improving.

The fighting will probably never fully stop, that's just sibling things.

Farleigh also finds himself filling a "big sibling" role over time and he likes being the one in charge every once in a while.

He's is stricter than Ducan and James, but he's not unfair.

With Farleigh he kiddos have set bedtimes, a limit to how many sugary stuff they're allowed to consume and get scolded for fighting/ causing trouble.

The most dreaded punishment of Felix is sitting on the stairs for 5 to 10 minutes, kid hates being bored.

Unfortunately he often has to sit on the stairs, he's quite the trouble maker.

Annabel hates getting her plushie taken away, the plushie is still in the same room, but up on a shelf, she just can't cuddle it for 5 to 10 minutes.

Luckily she very rarely has to be punished, she's a very well behaved kid!

All in all, regression brings most of the family closer together! <3

I left out Oliver on purpose, cuz he's a creepy little freak and we don't stand him in this household hehe

similar to prev, most of my fics are pretty happy, but if we're going by tone shift throughout the fic then I think that has to be my most recent fic, a forecast of sun, after the rain. jon gets a hug!!!

nope! possibly cause most of my fics are locked to only people with ao3 accounts, and the rest don't allow guest comments

i think im pretty solid at getting the like, narrative voice, to not feel too adult? but it's hard to tell, given the autism. uhhh. hmm. im not sure, I'm not great at assessing my own strengths

i think I could be better with descriptions, and a lot of my stuff doesn't feel in-character to me

i remeber when i first started my blog, i was still dealing with trauma from other tumblr blogs & was petrified to start again. i had a couple of friends helping and encouraging me to start (big hugs to you all! i know you're reading this <3) but i was still terrified.

the first person i ever spoke to on here was @cgstuff, and i remember being so scared & terrified of doing something bad- but they calmed me down (with help of other people) and kinda took me under their wing for a bit on how agere blogs opperated & what to do (thank you so much, i still really appreciate it so much<3)

(i still remember embarrasingly bragging to my friend 🐠 about how i was brave enough to message someone :o)

& i came to the relisation that agere blogs are bascially like adorable little diaries that broadcast our small side to a small and accepting community. once i realised that, i started getting more comfortable with everyone & started just being the pumpkin you all know now.

i don't even class myself as popular- i'm just pumpkin y'know :).

my honest advice is to just be you.

ignore the interaction, just be you and enjoy being you.

Hi, Am sorry if am bothering you, but I think you know lots about agere, an I need sum help.. Recently I've been regressing really low, like from my normal 4-5 age range it went to 1-2. And although it doesn't seem like too much of a difference I get so startled when I feel so young, do you think there's a reason behind it? You don't have to respond, but your acc was one of the first ones that came to mind when I first experienced it :P Sendin' hugs! ＜（＾－＾）＞

Hi hi! This is a great question, the biggest thing I can say that would be affecting your headspace age is big changes in your life and emotional state

So if you've been having an especially hard time coping mentally recently then I'd say that could be a factor but also it could be the complete opposite of having a hard time coping and instead I'd you've been feeling really safe recently or you've met someone recently who's been making you feel really happy and small then that could be another reason

If there's nothing out of the ordinary, then I'd go ahead and assume that it's just your baby brain trying to cope with the world and to carry on per usual

You also mentioned it being really startling for you to regress so small, so if there is anything that can keep you grounded to a 4-5 range then using those things could really help because I don't want ya to be scared, agere is supposed to help you cope and make you feel more comfortable not the opposite
