Don't Get Burned...Again!

If you touch a hot iron, it burns. Now, you wouldn't touch it again, right? Sadly, in a many various cases, that's what some people do. They continuously do things that harm them mentally, emotionally, and worst of all spiritually. They go to the same places and they hang with the same people that have a negative influence and the list goes on. They are ignoring the harm it causes to their walk with Christ. By allowing that, they are slowly but surely falling into the enemy's trap. So what are some ways that people are falling knowingly and unknowingly.

Consider these things. Plain and simple, there is no excuse to hang out at straight worldly places, a club isn't going to suddenly become holy. If we are new creations then that fleshly desire should have died along with our old self. There are no acts of righteousness or purity being done in places like that. The fact of the matter is, the opposite is taking place. Such as drunkenness, lusting, jealousy, fights, and even fornication. Now tell me, should a believer be hanging out in a place like that?

Now, let's look at who we surround ourselves with. If our intentions aren't to minister to our lost friends, then being in their company should be at a minimum, bad company corrupts good morals. What benefit is there to us as believers if we are not ministering but are being negatively influenced by those who indulge in the works of the flesh. I mean, we are supposed to influence them, right? So if that isn't happening, why would we surround ourselves with such people? I'm not saying don't ever hang with them, but just be aware that their fleshly words and works can interfere with what God is trying to do in your life.

Here's a tough one. Going back to old relationships. Quite honestly, as many would believe. This isn't only directed towards women.  Many believers, somehow, become lonely and rather than trusting God to cure that loneliness as they should, they are deceived into thinking returning to an old relationship is the better option. Consider this, if the relationship didn't word before, chances are it won't work now, especially if Christ is not the main concern of him or her. The bible says "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" So whatever causes the desire to return to an old relationship, I am almost certain it is not of God. God will cure any loneliness we feel and He will in His time place a man/woman of God into our lives. No need to go after old flames as they call it.

So, as I poured out my heart with certain subjects, I said those things because I love Gods people. And I would love to see the day where believers are not being so easily deceived with these things. So ready yourselves believers, be prepared for the enemy is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.

With that being said, my final words will be, do yourself a favor and be smart. Don't get burned.... again!
