Comic headcannons batfam edition
Every fucking villain in Gotham has an agreement NOBODY FUCKS WITH ALFRED. As a matter of fact he's rather well liked
Harley, ivy and Catwoman invited Alfred to a gossip circle and he takes them shopping. When they ask why he just responds "girls please I work for the richest family in Gotham not wearing an owl mask, I live at their house I don't need to save money at my age"
The supervillains all have a favorite robin (continued below)
Bane respects Jason's violence lust for vengeance
riddler loves swapping brain teasers with tim on the ride to Arkham
Dick Grayson will only refer to Dr freeze as victor. Victor always loves hearing stories from his circus days and dick helps victor figure out how to save his wife
Scarecrow enjoys discussing phobias with Damien (thought over)
Alfred is actually more loaded then the Waynes because he convinced the penguin to bet all of his assets including the iceberg lounge on a game of cards and Alfred won but is content with a 50% of the legitimate casino profit.
Jason todd and killer croc are actually close friends and croc gave batman an offer, say the word and I eat him
Cassandra Cain is extremely protective of Damien because of their similar upbringing and she absolutely hates Thalia al ghul
Alfred knows how to fight in heels and nobody questions it.
If one of the kids comes out as a different gender or sexuality Alfred takes the time to actually learn about it and makes Bruce do the same if they want Bruce to know. If they don't his lips are sealed tighter than nightwings cheeks
Duke, Steph and Harper develop a unique system of Morse code and hydrographics that correspond to them.
Cassandra is a lesbian and got Alfred's help figuring out a way to turn music into a code so she could ask out Harper with a passionate love song.
Colin Rowe is one of Damiens best friends, Bruce had to make him invite Colin over but as soon as Titan seemed him Worthy to rub the belly they were instantly cool.
Colin calls Cassandra aunt Cass and she helps him with homework Harper doesn't understand.
Damien actually made friends with Harley's Hyena's and has vowed to make the jokers life a living hell "father said I can't kill, but the joker has upset the she clown with the nice hyenas, oh and Todd died by his hand so he will pay.
The entire batfam has something called the pit stop protocol. If anything ever happens to batman his normal contingency plans run as normal with one exception, sedate Jason for a night, then the entire batfamily including Alfred and Harley grab crowbars and find the joker, they all know what happens next and they take it to the fucking grave. They never tell J.
Barbara still has days where her back gives her problems so she keeps the wheelchair around

Damien is out of his goddamn mind.
This isn’t a recent development, but it’s an important aspect of his work that often goes ignored. In place of this key element is the idea that his music is a sober and in-depth excavation of the American landscape and rural psyche. Well, folks, I’m sorry, but it’s not.
Damien Jurado is every character in every Damien Jurado song. He is the gun, the purple anteater, the paper wings, the avalanche, the air show disaster, Ohio, the ghost of his best friend’s wife. It is a universe unto its own, with it’s own symbolism, creation myth, and liturgy. You might go as far as to call it a religion, and your religion is a character in his religion.
Level with me. You're reading this because of Damien Jurado’s new album, 'Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son' (produced by Richard Swift). You are a progressive minded, left-leaning person who in parlor-style conversation regarding the globo-political ramifications of Sky Person relationships laughs knowingly so as not to be judgmental and very reasonably concedes “Well, I don’t believe He’s some old man with a beard sitting up in the clouds” at which point everyone agrees on [insert benign middle-ground] and moves on.
Consider this: What if the only way to understand a religion is to create your own?
Who is this Silver community? Where the hell are they in the Bible? Is this heresy? Agnostic reference? Isn’t this sun business a little, I don’t know, animistic? Pagan? Go ahead and answer that question for yourself. I’ll give you a second.
Do you understand the music any better?
You know that adage we all use so we have something to say while we shrug our shoulders? “People change”? That one. Is that applicable to Jesus Christ? Maybe he’s been on a personal journey of discovery since he ascended. He went through the 60’s, 70’s, he turned on, tuned out, got disillusioned. Why can’t we talk about that Jesus? Does it have to be the old-timey one all the time? American folk Jesus, ugh. The one who’s always winning Best Soundtrack Oscars for people. Rarely do stories of faith make us identify with Jesus. It’s Abraham, Satan, Silver Timothy, Salome, Dr. J, Saul of Tarsus; divinely imperfect brothers and sisters who give Gawd something to do.
Damien Jurado made up his own Jesus because a Damien Jurado album needs a beautiful Jesus. Some freaky space Jesus that I don’t recognize. The name is the same, a lot of the imagery is the same, but he’s reborn. Born again, I mean. Yeah, as if Jesus got born again. That’s what this album sounds like.
Jesus is out of his goddamn mind and I want to live in Damien’s America.
Sign me up.

Okay basic questions time before I get a bunch of anon asks
“Two of these are women.”
Father figures also count
“Some of these doesn’t have their own kids”
See point 1
“Why is there only a few characters from the same franchise going against each other but sometimes they aren’t”
Because I only recognized fire emblem, Pokémon, and JJBA at first.
“Aus doesn’t count”
As a previous undertale fan. I could care less. And I am not replacing Tim with BAMSE.
“Replace x with Bamse”
Sorry but. Findus and Skalman have already won. 3 times are a bit too much for us sweds.
“911 is copaganda”
You see Brooklyn 911 (picked by wheel) and you go against fireback mountain. Shame on you anon.
“Dad council these aren’t all random”
Yeah but Neon J vs Wubbox = chaos
Code of conduct

Guest Post from John Martin Rare Book Room
Hardin Library for the Health Sciences
FOX, JOSEPH (1775-1816). The natural history of the human teeth. Printed in London for J. Cox, 1803. 100 pages. 13 illustrations. 30 cm tall.
Welcome to spring, everyone! As we count down to longer days, more sun, flowers in bloom, and a twitterpated animal kingdom, I naturally want to talk about...teeth. So let's sink our teeth into Joseph Fox's (1775-1816) The natural history of the human teeth (first edition - 1803).
Joseph Fox was a trailblazer in dentistry who made significant contributions to the field during the early 19th century. Born in London in 1775, Fox received his medical training at Guy's Hospital. A student of John Hunter and Henry Cline, Joseph Fox was eventually appointed the first lecturer on dentistry at Guy's Hospital. He was the first dental surgeon appointed to a hospital position and one of the first medical practitioners to devote themselves completely to the care of teeth.
For those with dental anxiety, you can thank Dr. Fox for stressing the need for regular dentist visits. He argued this was especially important for children as they grew and "shed" their first set of teeth.
Fox cared deeply for his profession and wrote and lectured on the importance of improving the quality and standards of dentistry. He stressed that dentistry must have a scientific foundation as it was a medical field.
Beyond teeth, Fox was a passionate proponent of Edward Jenner and vaccination, even offering up his house as a vaccination location, and helped to found the Jenner Society. He was also involved in educational and abolitionist causes.
From 1799 until his death, Fox lectured on dentistry at Guy's Hospital in London. Based on his lectures, he first published The natural history of the human teeth in 1803 and the companion volume, The history and treatment of the diseases of the teeth, in 1806.
Improving and expanding the work of foundational dental scholars, such as Pierre Fouchard, these were the first works in English to provide instructions for the correction of certain dental irregularities. They also have several detailed and sometimes striking illustrations, including the first to show operative procedures and dental pathologies.
There were many editions, including in other languages, and though much of his theory of oral physiology and pathology was of dubious value, his operative procedures remained in vogue for more than fifty years. Along with the clinical and surgical aspects of the book, Fox also provides his thoughts on the biggest issues in the profession, giving the reader a fuller context of the profession at the time.
The book is bound in blue-painted paper over thin paper boards and rebacked with a thick cloth spine. The book is not only striking for its illustrations but also for the text pages. As can be seen from the image above, the book was printed with slightly larger type and very large margins. Anyone with eyesight as poor as mine is grateful for that.

THE VISITOR (1979) – Episode 174 – Decades Of Horror 1970s
“That bugs me, man. That really bugs me.” This ends up being Glenn Ford’s key line in his short appearance in this episode’s movie. Join your faithful Grue Crew – Doc Rotten, Chad Hunt, Bill Mulligan, and Jeff Mohr – as they come away with a slew of questions after watching The Visitor (1979) and its star-studded cast.

Synopsis: The soul of a young girl with telekinetic powers becomes the prize in a fight between forces of good and evil.
Director: Giulio Paradisi (credited as Michael J. Paradise)
Writers: (screenplay by) Luciano Comici (as Lou Comici) & Robert Mundi (as Robert Mundy); (story by) Giulio Paradisi & Ovidio G. Assonitis
Selected cast:
Mel Ferrer as Dr. Walker
Glenn Ford as Det. Jake Durham
Lance Henriksen as Raymond Armstead
John Huston as Jerzy Colsowicz
Joanne Nail as Barbara Collins
Sam Peckinpah as Dr. Sam Collins
Shelley Winters as Jane Phillips
Paige Conner as Katy Collins
Franco Nero as Jesus Christ (uncredited)
Chad chose The Visitor for this episode’s discussion, but he confesses that he had no idea what was going on at any given moment during the film. On top of his confusion with the storyline, he was “bored off his hindquarters” while some scenes dragged on forever and ever and ever… To him, it felt like a ripoff of The Exorcist (1973) and The Omen (1976) with a little science fiction twist thrown in. Of course, there was the hate-eliciting kid, dripping with evil, and the inappropriate music backing many scenes.
Though competently made, according to Bill, The Visitor is a mess. The incoherent story seemed to go a little Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) while still not making a lick of sense. Echoing Chad’s feelings about the kid, he admits he cheered when Shelley Winters’ character slapped her. He finishes with, “Of all the WTF 1970s movies we’ve done, this is the WTFest.”
Jeff agrees with Chad that The Visitor is way too long with what seemed like some endless sequences. Once he realized it was an Italian film, the presence of a confusing storyline kind of made sense. The second time he watched it the plot became somewhat less opaque, but he would never recommend that anyone else watch it twice.
The Visitor took some life out of Doc and made his brain hurt trying to figure out what was happening. For him, it plays a lot like Damien: Omen II (1978) with Lance Henriksen even playing a similar part. He also found some unintentionally comedic scenes and while the film has its moments, on the whole, he had to fight to not fall asleep.
Despite the 70s Grue-Crew’s poor impressions, The Visitor does have a cult following and sports an excellent cast that outperforms the material. At the time of this writing, The Visitor is available to stream from Shudder, Peacock, Kanopy, Tubi, and Freevee. The Visitor is also available on physical media as a Blu-ray from Drafthouse.
Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1970s is part of the Decades of Horror two-week rotation with The Classic Era and the 1980s. In two weeks, the next episode in their very flexible schedule, chosen by Doc, will be Hammer’s Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde (1971). That won’t be confusing at all.

How I Think The Egos + Other MCU Characters (Mark) Would React To Being Asked About Their Pronouns: Tiktok Trend But Make It Tumblr.
(this is opinion based, feel free to say yours)
Actor Mark:
I think if you asked Actor what his pronouns are, he would be shocked and surprised, likely silent for a minute. He’d then probably ask, “my pronouns?” and you’d say “yeah.” and in my opinion, I feel like he’d just smile and say “he/him” because he’s never had someone care so much as to ask him before.
Damien:
I think he would just smile and say “he/him” then ask about yours.
Celine:
“She/her” but would automatically assume you were LGBT+ for asking.
Dark:
Probably be annoyed by all the questions you just asked but say “he/they/it” and reluctantly ask about yours because it might show his soft side.
William J. Barnum:
Definitely has internalized homophobia, especially being a colonel. Would probably tell you to mind your own business.
Wilford Warfstache:
Would tell you that he mainly uses “he/they” but also doesn’t mind other pronouns. Definitely would respect yours but most likely forgot your name.
Abe:
Internalized homophobia, especially being a detective. Would say “he/him” but then move on from the conversation.
Benjamin:
Would smile, say, “he/him” and then offer you a drink.
Yancy:
Would ask if you were one of those LGBT+ people and say how cool that is, then say “he/they” but that he’s been trying out “it/its” recently. Probably introduce you to his friends who are LGBT+ if you are, too.
Illinois:
Illy would definitely say “Gor/Geous” at first but then he’d apologize and say “he/him” and do the smoulder.
Magnum:
He’d say that he’s a pirate and that pirates don’t need pronouns, but if they did, he’d go by “he/him” and then ask if you wanted to be his child.
Eric:
He’d cry if you asked him, then depending on how comfortable he was with you, he’d either say “he/him” or “he/they/xe” and then smile nervously.
Annus:
We all know that Annus would go into great detail about pronouns and how important they are to everyone as individuals and then conclude his 15 minute TedTalk with “he/they/it” and then asks about yours but only after he tells you about Life After Death.
Dr. Iplier:
He’d just say “he/him” and then ask for yours before he diagnoses you with Dying.
King of The Squirrels:
Would say “he/him” and then tell you the pronouns of all his squirrel subjects.
Bim Trimmer:
He’d be confused but say “he/they” and then ask why you interrupted his game show for that.
Google:
Would be confused as to why it mattered since he plans on destroying mankind, but since you asked, “he/they/it” and then move on.
Bing:
Would dab and say “he/they” and you know it.
The Host:
Would say “he/they/xe” and already know what pronouns you were gonna say you use.
Heehoo:
Would utter the only words he knows “hee/hoo” and then cover the ground in takis dust and spell out “he/him” and then lick the dust off the ground.
The Benefactor:
