Saw @thedistortionshallways whipping up a scrumptious IWTV (AMC version) x TMA crossover and thought I’d propose an alternate casting of the regency harem.

Dr. Jonathan Fanshawe as Louis DPDL

You should have guessed this take from #1 Repressed Jfan/Magshawe truther. Nobody matches the level of vitriol towards his ex (Jonah) like this guy. His name would be un-uttered in their home for 23 years until it was pounding in their heads like a jackhammer. “Considering this the severing of our acquaintance” (MAG 127) has the exact same energy as Louis kissing Armand in front of Lestat. His repressed Georgian ass laid down with the Devil and he’s now having a moment. Also, being a little unethical as a surgeon would be a great Louis’s guilt stand-in. As a treat.

Jonah Magnus as Lestat de Lioncourt

While canon Jonah isn’t as flamboyant or volatile as Lestat is….it really comes down to everything always circles back to him. I thought about casting Jonah as Armand because of his tendency to grand-master plan, and allegedly being “forced into this position by his fear of death,” but ultimately from a narrative standpoint he’s in Lestat’s role. He’s the one who puts everything into motion. Jonah has also already had a “You are a killer Louis” dynamic with another Jonathan so…why not the original one too?

Barnabas Bennett as Armand

HEAR ME OUT OKAY? Think about it. When it comes to the Louis/Armand relationship, the crux is Lestat: he’s both their ex and it’s obvious this was a rebound for Louis. Barnabas/Jfan are both connected to Jonah, and both have reason to hate him— Jonah left Barnabas to be alone as Lestat left Armand.

Barnabas is also very much “I’m just a little guy”/not really, in the way he started to just straight up beef with Mordechai Lukas. “After all, what judge would find in his favour over mine?” (MAG 92) is insane. Like Armand, Barnabas also has the problem of never being the first choice from the sheer lonely nature of his statement— “I have no-one whose absence truly pains me.” (MAG 92)

Albrecht von Closen as Daniel Molloy

So my friend has a headcanon of Albrecht being a failed Archivist (hence the books killing him with putting eyes inside him), but what if he survived that? What if he survived his encounter with the supernatural and continued to curate/collect knowledge? Do you see where I’m going.

The Eye's Great Chain of Being

Welcome to Part 2 of me and my friends have completely shaken up the TMA universe and other podcasts in the process. This system was created by my lovely friend @ringofnightshade. Here is how she describes it: "The Eye is an entity of roles, of expectations, and that means a hierarchy. You have a place and you will know it. This system does not necessarily indicate how much power an avatar has (it can give a boost, but your strength can grow with age and experience), but it does indicate how favorable the avatar is to the Eye. The hierarchy is traditionally based on three vectors: Complete/Incomplete: How detailed is the information you've collected? Infinite/Finite: What subjects can you gather? Record/Recollection: What is the nature of the information you've gathered, how factual? The different combinations of which determine your rank along the hierarchy. For example: Archivists are among the highest roles, being complete (all details) infinite (any subject) records (entirely factual). The Jeweler ranks lower, being a complete finite record (focused on a specialized task). Of similar level is the Philosopher, being of complete infinite recollections (knows a Lot, but the knowledge is more about thinking and exploring than the facts discovered). The Storyteller is fairly low, being of incomplete infinite recollection (can collect a wide range of stories, but they focus on specific things and aren't always accurate to the event). Now. The Pupil is a unique role, in that it is the lowest, existing merely as a servant to the Eye and those of higher ranks. It doesn't actually have a particular task, not like the Archivist or Jeweler or Philosopher, it just knows things in order to organize or assist. How you go about this servitude though is... up to you." My previous encounters with acolytes of the Crawling Rot were nothing but lovely, and I do hope this pattern shall continue in our interactions as well. Besides, I am rather curious as to how the ideology of your patron fits with your career – and I promise that I merely wish to understand and not judge.

That being said, I'm afraid I have to start our acquaintanceship with a request: do not claim Barnabas Bennett. This is an entirely selfish wish, but I hope you can understand what it means to want to keep someone yours.

I would never have imagined many from our age to have made it. I heard talk of you as a doctor of esteem before my condition became as it is. What a delight to finally make your acquaintance.

As much as I appreciate your curiosity, there is not much I wish to say about it. My patron and profession do not tend to agree, as may be obvious. It is a complicated matter. If I do not wish to feed, I must be diligent. I have not performed a procedure in quite some time. That is all I shall say.

As for the matter of Mister Bennett, I wish no harm upon the man, and hope that you understand when I say that I cannot make such a promise. It is ultimately his decision to make, whether or not he embraces what I offer. I will make a concession; that we shall not take him without his say-so.

We simply wish to help rid him of his ailments, to assist. It is a horrid thing, how he feels, and we simply wish to relieve him of it. I must apologise if you disagree with the method, and hope it will not put strain on our acquaintance.

the reason it’s become relatively harmless to most is through vaccination efforts resulting in major herd immunity. we’ve also developed antiviral medications that can be used to dampen the effects of severe cases

unfortunately, many people have come to fear vaccines recently. this may result in a return of severe influenza

Fascinating. You know, I wonder if you've spoken much to my companion, @dr-jonathan-fanshawe? While I am of course always interested to learn about modern developments, especially in reducing what was once such a major cause of death and such an ever-present terror, I think he would perhaps very much enjoy hearing about medicine today, having been a doctor in our time

Right so imagine Jon decided to actually look into Jonah and Smirke and Peter(Mordechai) and Simon

(this is what my brain came up with- if this isn’t exactly how they’d talk don’t blame me it’s more like incorrect quotes where it’s vaguely around the character)

*Jonah walks past Jon’s office to just check for a second and sees a board with his name up on it*

Jonah: Hello, Jon?

Jon: Oh- Elias, sorry it’s a bit of a mess

Jonah: No worries! I just wanted to… see what you were up to, what’s this?

Jon: I see- well I thought the Lukas’, Magnus, Fairchild, Smirke, Albrecht, Dr. Fanshawe… they were all interesting- seen as it’s the beginning of the institute that they pop up in so, I thought it would be interesting to learn more about them.

Jonah: Alright, And?

Jon: Well, the people don’t have much history other than landmarks, like the institute, Moorland Manor, all of Smirke’s construction, the manor Albrecht’s nephew… if I remember correctly? Anyways, they aren’t historically that relevant- other than for the fears

Jonah: Right. Is that all, then?

Jon: Umm… Kind of?

Jonah: What does that mean.

Jon: Well, i looked more into the wording and manner and such of the statements they are in or wrote and.. their relationships are quite- queer, in both senses

Jonah: …Pardon?

Jon: You reading Barnabas’ statement to Jonah was- quite endearingly wrote- I understand most of them said “Dear Jonah” but the fact that he’s relying on Magnus and doesn’t just use Jonah for urgency is odd to say the least, let alone the fact Magnus then went to get his bones after he’d died…

Jonah: … I suppose-

Jon: And! You said he was on good terms with Mordechai Lukas? What good terms? It’s very vague- and suggests things- especially if what I’m imagining Bennet’s relationship with Magnus entails.

Jonah: … I- … Perhaps.

Jon: And! The fact Smirke wasn’t outright done with Magnus after Jonah betrayed him was something I don’t think most people would do… That implies things- Especially seeing Magnus, and the things he did.

Jonah: Fair enoug- what? What about Jonah Magnus implies things?

Jon: He- Well look at him- he’s in your office:..

Jonah: I-…

Jon: Anyways- Im starting to believe Jonah had a harem of his associates..

Jonah: . . . How.

Jon: Albrecht and Clara would not care that much- Neither would Jonathan be that upset- Smirke, Mordechai, and Barnabas I already explained… Oh- Simon! The Fairchild family isn’t much connected to the Vast except for him and his niece?

Jonah: I’m not understanding why you chose to-… do- this.

Jon: I divulge in my interests, the eye certainly would like to know…

Jonah: About that?

Jon: I’d think so- I forgot the Dark’s person which I’m sure is now Maxwell Rayner because of the body hopping the Dark’s avatar can do…

Jonah: I… Alright, Jon- I could get you a statement?

Jon: No, thank you- I think I’ll keep doing this.

Jonah: Did- Jon, I suggest that you stop focusing on Georgian Era Drama. *Intense glare*

Jon: Oh- O- K…

(If this doesn’t make sense… I like to think Jonah had a harem of his friends/colleagues/associates… a lot of people think this way too- I think… anywayssssssss)
