A quick drawing I did of Dr.Psycho in between the drawings of Doris. Decided to post it separately since it didn't really fit the style of the others and stood out awkwardly. I do fancy how he looks in the harley quinn serious but I still wanted to still give him a little bit of my own twist I suppose. So--enjoy!

Now that I’ve finished watching the series so far I have some thoughts

1. The advertising

I started watching based on some trailers that I saw through an Instagram page dedicated to cartoons. One thing I noticed is the way harlivy is advertised. The impression I got from promotions was that Harley and ivy were in a sort of long term relationship at that point, which might be on me, but I still think the way they framed harlivy was sort of as this very healthy relationship where both parties are doing well. The advertising sort of overplayed their relationship and downplayed the conflicts of the show. But harlivy isn’t as perfect as the promotional material made me think it was. Which brings me to my second point:

Harlivy isn’t really all that good of a relationship. I know it’s an “adult cartoon” and there will be a lot of sex based jokes, but It makes Harley and ivy seem sex obsessed, the constant references to them having sex are at least a bit overkill and at most make it feel like they’re equating sex to romance. On that subject, there’s very little romantic tension between ivy and Harley. They’re definitely very close friends, and they definitely have sexual tension, but so far in season three there hasn’t really been a good example of romance between them. They feel more like friends with benefits than girlfriends. But to give credit where credit is due, the bachelorette party episode in season 2 did manage to give the impression of Harley having actual romantic feelings rather than just sexual feelings. I just haven’t really seen any sort of romantic reciprocation from ivy. Even her actions in the awards episode aren’t all that romantic.

Last thing. Dr.psycho. The choice to make one of the main story villains a little man with a big ego is just in poor taste. With all the “woke” aspects of the series they still manage to push some bigoted narratives. There’s a lot of bodyshaming in the show especially directed towards psycho despite the fact that he’s not in control of his body, and the criticism should be on his actions instead. It’s unnecessary, and they could’ve had him as a villain without making it about his body and finding ways to shame the bodies of little people and occasionally infantilize them. They portray him as a creep and a needlessly bad person without reason. His villain origin story is essentially “I was never tall enough to ride the Ferris wheel, so it felt good to see people die on it”. It’s uncomfortable to watch.

So those are my criticisms of the series. There are some issues. It’s overall a pretty good story but dr psycho and the portrayal of harlivy as almost exclusively sexual is uncomfortable.

The trial of Ted Kord.

Ted Kord, also known as vigilante Blue Beetle. Was battling “super villain” Edgar Cizko also known as Dr.Psycho. During the events of the confrontation Cizko used his Metahuman abilities to control Teds mind. Causing Ted to commit actions without proper cognitive control. Under this control he attacked politician Bradford Sackett.

Who promptly sued Ted for assault and injury charges. Due to Bradford sustaining a fractured rib. But due to the unorthodox conditions in which Ted was under he was given a verdict of innocent.

His defense attorney only known as “The Question” was promptly placed into custody due to his erratic behavior,threatening multiple members of the court,and acting as an attorney while never having a license.

ooc;; !!BIG UPDATE!! --A bit of a small talk here as I been pondering hard on the next decision here I'm gonna make. So sadly and admittedly, I have been finding it really hard to get the muse for Doris. Thing is- before I made this rp blog I was on the fence between making a Dr.Psycho one or Giganta as I have my own spin/versions for each. But I thought I'd go the more, personally for me, harder route. You see- I have never made a RP blog for a chick before, I do not normally ever rp females as I find it really hard to do. I wanted to prove, perhaps even to myself that I could do it so I decided to go for making Giganta instead. I was feeling it for a week or so, the muse was high but now it's almost bare none and I am wondering if I made the right decision. I also, at first, wanted to try to correctly portray a very feminine female character, again-- to prove that I could do it. I did not think I would lose all motivation for rping her THIS quick but sadly I did. So, where to from here? I really don't quite know myself. I don't wanna up and leave so abruptly and so soon I just got here and spent days on end working on this blog. I love Doris-- I really do and I am proud of how I've made her I feel I did bring good justice towards her character. But gee is it really a workout for me and I'm already burnt out. Trust me when I tell you this DOES NOT normally happen to me. It takes A LOT for me to get burnt out over rping a character. I believe I bit off maybe more than I could chew when making a rp blog for her.

My thoughts, or what I have been pondering for the past few days is if I should just go ahead and make the Dr.Psycho blog AND keep this one so it's not wasted. Still rp on here but maybe it will be my more slow // less active blog. I'm gonna keep thinking on it though-- but I'd love to hear your guy's opinion(s) or thoughts on it. Should I jump the gun and just do it?
