#draco doesn't know

The fic starts with Draco & Hermione finally being together post war - Draco switched sides? (I think) they are together for a few years after but no matter how hard Draco tries he cannot get out of his marriage contract with Astoria. Hermione and him are heartbroken but they break up and Hermione moves to Germany? She's pregnant but doesn't tell him and Luna helps out with the baby? They re-meet years later when Draco is assigned to cracking a case where children are being experimented on.
Anyone?
Edit: Thanks!

ppl seem to like the idea of harry courting draco or harry doing big public displays of affection to ask him out (think promposals). but i feel like he'd be so awkward at dating. he doesn't quite know what to do with or show physical and emotional affection, the weasleys give him bad advice on romance, he's also oblivious when ppl are interested in him.
what he does have is earnestness and determination - he makes the first move on accident, just bursts out his feelings, brave and embarrassed.
draco knows all about courting and respects tradition, but he's not the type to make the first move (not anymore at least, not like when he was a kid, where running to his parents for safety and comfort was a luxurious option). he's calculating and weighs his options - what if he confesses but harry doesn't like him? what if he confesses and harry DOES like him? what if harry likes him, but doesn't like dating him? he's more hesitant and guarded with his feelings, but is more likely to show his affection towards loved ones.
harry asks him out in the middle of a conversation, just because he loves watching how passionate draco gets about something he loves. even after weeks of dating, draco insists on courting him the "proper way", showering him with gifts, writing letters that make harry blush, leaving loving post-its all over harry's home and work desk, delivering anonymous flowers, publicly asking if he can escort harry home (they're both embarrassed). he's touchy feely too, which harry isn't used to, but physical contact becomes easy and second nature now with draco. harry doesn't quite get the courting, yet still loves it.
harry: you already have me, draco 😊😆
draco: i still want to woo you though 🥹😤

I'm quite convinced Draco uses half of his time staring at Harry like this and wondering how he can be so dumb (he loves it and knows they'll smash later so he won't complain)

So...what I'm getting from this is that Draco is canonically gay. Like that is the only explanation for this sentence.
Given that the obvious answer for why Draco might be sneaking off alone with some girls while everyone is busy doesn't come up, either everyone in the whole school knows Draco is gay (actually pretty supported by the text since no one else suggests he could be slipping off for romantic reasons)
OR Harry assumes everyone knows that Draco is gay because he doesn't realize that he's spent 6 years learning everything there is to know about Draco Malfoy while other people had normal hobbies (so much funnier)

Re: your recent response about Draco wearing blue - fashion is not something I tend to pick up on (or understand very well generally), so I’m always curious to hear more about it! Do you have any other fashion thoughts you want to elaborate on? You’ve talked a bit about Draco and Hermione’s fashion, what about Harry or Ron?
Aw, yeah! I'll preface this by saying that the following is a combination of canon and headcanon; some of this is evidenced in the text of the fic, but some of it probably isn't, it's just something that's in my head when describing them.
Harry's pretty small in Lionheart, as a consequence of chronic malnutrition in childhood mixed with a genetic predisposition to it (James is canonically a short king, cf. "Hairy Little Christmas.") That means a lot of his muggle clothes don't fit well, being hand-me-downs from Dudley; in contrast, his school robes, which we know he got tailored at Malkin's, seem to fit normally (i.e., Harry fits better in the magical world, it's his home, it suits him). In general, Harry's fashion is "adequate, but not great," which makes sense; he never had the chance to choose his own clothes growing up, and then he went to boarding school with a uniform, so when would he develop a sense of style? Honestly, it's a relief for him to have one fewer decisions to make.
Like Ron, Harry's uniform isn't super meticulous, but he seems to make an effort. He does his tie and keeps his shirt clean, etc. (which makes sense; Harry cares about belonging here). When we see Harry out of uniform, he's usually wearing baggy t-shirts and jeans, which are the least nice clothes you could give to someone while still expecting them to last; they're also clothes that fit loose and hang long on his body (very late-80's + early 90's).
Ron, on the other hand, doesn't have any qualms about belonging in the magical world; he was born to it. This manifests as a laziness with his robes. He doesn't bother with his tie as much, if at all, and when he does it's not the right knot (Draco points it out in Book 3); since he's the brother of not one but two Head Boys, we have to assume that's deliberate, or that at some extent his lack of attention is a deliberate manifestation of something. Ron is youngest boy, he has self-esteem issues, and the way this manifests is by Ron never asking for anything and then getting sour when nothing goes his way. He doesn't try, so he can't feel bad when he fails. Besides which, when Ron does try to dress nice, it backfires; it's either an uncomfortable costume, like in "Operation Prewett," or it's a horrible hand-me-down, e.g. the Yule Ball outfit. Contrast him with the other Weasley boys, many of whom — especially the three oldest — have their own cultivated aesthetics, because they all know who they are. Ron is figuring that out, and it manifests in stylistically messy ways.

Also, the fact that Harry and Ron introduced themselves to each other by their first name first and then remembered to had their last name ("Ron, Ron Weasley" & "Harry, Harry Potter"), because they were them first and their family last, while Draco presented himself as "Malfoy, Draco Malfoy" because the fact that he's from a pureblood family and who his parents are is more important than how he actually is.

Persphone Tim to Hades Ashes EXCEPT it's actually the start of the poly ship between Brian/Jonny/Tim bc Hades decides to host a grand ball for their 'wedding' or something and Jonny and Brian decide to come but they were not informed of who Persphone actually is so when Tim walks out with Ashes completely decked out in like a dramatic dress and pretty hair + makeup Brian and Jonny do the Granger Danger duet from Team Starkid's AVPM (Brian is Ron and Jonny is Draco, respectively. Also Ashes 100% knows they're down bad for Tim and finds it hilarious.)
Edit to add a YouTube link to the actual song in case anyone hasn't heard it (which I'm doing primarily bc I'm a sucker for Joey and Lauren like..... ugh they're so.......)
youtube
Also Brian and Jonny definitely start absent mindedly dancing together just to get a close look at Tim. I know I was there I was the spiked punch bowl.

Getting the train home from London to Cornwall is always a frustrating experience because you start hitting The South West ™ and you're like ah, finally my territory! I'm nearly home! And then the train stops at every fucking town in the whole of Devon and takes absolutely forever to get anywhere

Heyyy
I’m looking for a dramione, I think it was in twitter.
Hermione is pregnant by Draco but she thinks he doesn’t want her anymore. Harry is being supportive of her.
Astoria and Draco are married, she’s also pregnant.
Turns out Draco had his memory erased by Narcissa.
Astorias baby is actually Harry’s. Harry finds out what truly happened when he runs into Astoria I believe in the muggle world.
Anyone?
Edit: Thanks! You need Twitter to view the thread though:

While I personally don't like Daemon but reading greens takes about him especially Aemond stans is so funny because they're very bitter about the fact that Daemon is better than Aemond in everyway possible and that's an objective truth, they like to play the high moral ground that Daemon is a groomer pedo (which is true) and that Aemond is morally better which is really funny because who said that the person who nuked whole region because he was angry is morally better than anyone? Do they think that Aemond's relationship with Alys is some Disney story when he literally killed everyone of her bloodline then take her as his war prize which could translate to a sex slave. I NEED Aemond's stans to accept that they're stanning a dark character and not some jon/rob type of a character because fighting other real people and insult them for your fave genocider and rapist is actually embarrassing
sorry I took quote long to answer this but I finally finished my uni exams so I'm only now finally free (🥳)
Anyways, I'm very happy that despite not liking daemon's character you can see the ridiculousness in those takes.
honestly, the show is the reason to blame for SO many bad takes. Like, people not understanding how bastards and legitimacy works in the fantasy world of Westeros, not realizing honor and broken oaths play role, the politics of north vs south, the religious power, the MANY dubious/power imbalanced relationships we see, the family drama... I mean, there are even people who genuinely refuse to acknowledge that misogyny is a huge theme in the book and plays a huge role in the dance, so...
And I get it, not everyone is a reader. And despite how much I love f&b I'll be the first to admit that it's not an easy book. And some people will simply never understand how unreliable narration works.
I think the people you're mentioning will either have a rude awakening when s2 will air or some huge celebration, depending how the show will take aemond's character.
I have no doubt they'll have him do his canon actions. Similarly how he did in s1 (attacking his nephews, the toast during dinner, killing Luke etc) But as you can see with how they portrayed his murder of lucerys (aka suddenly he couldn't control his dragon because.... ✨ plot ✨) They can easily twist his future actions (burning the riverlands, massacring house strong, the dubious thing he had with Alys) into something more sympathetic.
George being part of the team means nothing to me. If he cares for the story and the characters he wouldn't have let them getting destroyed like this in the first place.
And in my eyes there's no fixing hotd.
Now when it comes to the fandom, a huge issue that goes both with team green and team black is that they cannot seperate book canon, show version and headcanons. They put everything into the mix and you get the most unhinged arguments.

So, I just realized that #artists on Tumblr is trending
And the second pic I see there is the new aftg art by @lunapiq
Tumblr media
And im like wow aftg is trending! (Which I know is not really the case, but let me think that random people had the chance to see the Bus scene in this beautiful fan art)
And I go through the reblogs, and I see the tags
Tumblr media
And now I'm crying
Dude-
Ok I've never seen or read Harry Potter tbh
But I know that Draco is a blonde with daddy issues and that Ron is the orange one who's in the main trio
Ok 1st of all I didn't know this was a ship- anyways moving on
But like- you saw Andrew Minyard and were like yeah this is Draco
And you saw Neil Josten and were like yeah this is Ron
Ajshrhrjd
Ok sorry - no hate to the person who made the tags but I'm crying

Draco Malfoy’s Worst and Best Day.
“Harry Potter is dead!” The Dark Lord shouted to the court yard. All around him were reactions, Death Eaters laughing, students and teachers crying out disbelieving. But for Draco, everything stopped. All he could hear was his heartbeat filling his ears. Potter is dead.
He didn’t believe it. He couldn’t believe it. Harry Potter cannot be dead. He’s the boy who lived, the boy who had faced off against the Dark Lord five times and survived. There was no way he could be dead now.
His lungs were filling with air but he couldn’t breathe, every breath taken doing nothing for him. All he could hear was his heartbeat. Everything around him stopped. Harry can’t be dead.
There were hands on his arm, pulling him backwards, swallowing him up into the crowds of people around him. He didn’t know who was pulling him backwards, causing him to stumble as they did so, but he couldn’t find himself caring. It could be the Dark Lord himself coming to kill Draco in front of everybody and he couldn’t care less.
The arm pulling him brought him to the back of the crowd, away from the open, away from Potter. He looked up to who was pulling him, Pansy. She had both her hands on him, facing one another, she was speaking but he couldn’t hear a thing.
He blinked, his body took in air, his heart was beating, but he couldn’t hear feel or breathe.
“Draco, take a deep breathe come on count of four. Breathe in with me. 1 2 3 4” Pansy’s voice broke through his shell but it was distant, he tried following her advice but it wasn’t working. “Breathe Draco goddammit.”
He wasn’t aware of the tears falling from his eyes. But they were there. Pansy didn’t mention them, not even after the fact, she just kept instructing him to breathe. In for four, hold for four, out for eight.
It felt like forever, but couldn’t have been more than a few minutes. His breathing started to calm, to regulate. The sounds of chaos around him came back, the tears -although not stopping- slowed.
“It’s okay Draco. It’s going to be okay.” She pulled him into a hug, squeezing him tightly. His arms hung around his sides, unable to reciprocate. It wasn’t going to be okay.
When she pulled away she studied his face before nodding and pulling him back into the crowd. Not to the front where he was, but at a point where they could see what was happening. He could see the backs of Weasley and Granger’s heads, and could only imagine how they were feeling. They loved Potter more than he did and he wasn’t aware that was possible.
And then it happened.
In a rush of commotion Potter jumped up out of Hagrid’s arms, running across the court yard towards his friends, towards Draco. There were gasps all around and the Dark Lord’s face darkened. Draco could feel Pansy’s hand close tightly on his arm from where she was standing beside him. The man was looking as though Christmas was cancelled.
Amongst the chaos of Potter announcing himself alive Draco realized something, an important something. Potter didn’t have a wand. He had taken Draco’s weeks ago -merlin knows why- but he had been using it only hours prior in the Room of Requirement. And after they fell through the doorway Draco had picked up his wand before booking it. Harry didn’t have a wand. And Draco knew what he needed to do.
He pulled himself away from Pansy’s grasp and pushed his way through the crowd, a task he found more difficult than he could imagine.
It wasn’t until he was standing beside Granger that he shouted “POTTER!” To the man who was a few meters away. Potter turned to look at him questioningly, and Draco could feel the eyes of not only Granger and Weasley and Pansy, but of the Death Eaters, his parents, and the Dark Lord. But it was too late to lose his courage.
In a swift motion Draco pulled his wand out from his sleeve and tossed it to Potter, and he could feel everything move around him in slow motion. The gasp from Granger, the hand from Pansy -trying to stop him from doing stupid but it was too late- all felt a million miles away. The only thing that existed was Potters brilliant green eyes locked onto his own for a fraction of a second before grabbing his wand, giving Draco a smile, and turning back towards the Dark Lord. Wand out.
Pansy didn’t bother pulling him back again, but she stood there with her hand tightening around his forearm. His eyes were too focused on Potter to notice his parents staring at him. His mother was proud, his father was horrified and ashamed.
He didn’t hear the words that Potter shouted at the Dark Lord but was aware of the spell being casted at him, of the bright green -not unlike Harry’s eyes- of the killing curse being shot towards the boy. He took in a breath of air, holding his breath and unable to let go. Potter shot back another spell, a red one he would later find out to be the disarming spell.
He watched as the two stood facing one another, wands casting but nothing happening. At least until the Dark Lords spell rebounded and he dropped against the ground. His body still warm -assuming there was any warmth to him- eyes still open, but unmoving. Dead.
Voldemort was dead.
Death Eaters left in a hurry, trying to flee before the ministry caught them and put them in Azkaban, and although Draco wouldn’t be aware of it for many hours, his parents were amongst those caught. Draco himself however made his way into the Great Hall with Pansy, sitting on a bench to the side of the room, trying to keep out of everyone’s line of sight.
He was sure he would eventually be brought to the ministry and put to trial, he did after all have the mark. But he wasn’t too worried about that in the moment. There were more important people for the Auror’s to be capturing he figured.
Draco continued to sit there on the bench. At one point Professor McGonagall had come by and given him a cup of hot chocolate and a small smile before continuing on. As he sat there he watched. He could see the Weasley’s and Granger standing around one of the Weasley twins, and not too far from them he could see Professor Lupin laying dead as well. He couldn’t however see Potter.
Draco looked around, searching for the boy only to find him walking towards him, with a determined look on his face. Draco didn’t have time to react before Potter strolled up to him and grabbed his face in his hands and kissed him. Smack on the mouth.
Draco was so surprised that he didn’t even close his eyes for a few moments, unable to register what in Salazar’s name Potter was doing. When Draco did realize what Potter was doing however he closed his eyes and kissed the boy back, kissed him like it gave him oxygen, kissed him as though his life depended on it and as though he would never get another chance (he would of course, hours later- but he didn’t know that).
When Potter finally pulled away it was only a few centermeters, fifteen at most. “Thank you.” And then the boy kissed him again. And for the first time in years Draco felt that everything was going to be okay, because Harry Potter is Alive.
