Kinda love the fact that most characters in httyd don't have perfect teeth. Zero human dental care but they do have crazy good healthcare for if you lose a limb or two. They're very prepared to just hand you a peg leg at the drop of a hat. They recover from amputation like its a hobby tbh.

But when Snotlout lost three teeth from a punch he seemed so distraught about it. He has a missing front tooth thro his entire tenure in the franchise. Gobber has a fake tooth made from a rock that regularly falls out and he has to tap it back into place.

They literally have a holiday to celebrate the fact that so many of them have lost limbs. they have an annual 'having a stump fucking rocks!' day but no one is telling these kids to floss.

Like there is a dragon dentist and we see Gobber give the dragons fake teeth. but humans getting fake teeth seems to be an oddity almost exclusive to Gobber.

It's just such an interesting detail in the world building. They fixed an aspect of ableism but at the cost of human dentistry

i don't know that he's a legal citizen or that the land he lives on belongs to the government tbh

-no birth certificate

-lived in the woods until he was 12

-the 'house' is like 20 sq ft IF THAT, a hand-built shack that has an address only technically

-no electricity or running water until after Bulma, and the house is at least partially a capsule house. it's not unlikely that she set him up with a generator and the running water is from the river literally 12 feet away from the house. much cheaper than setting up powerlines and water pipes all the way to mt. paozu

-his only income before super is from tournament wins, which probably ARE taxed but likely done automatically in the same way the lottery is

-even if he was *supposed* to be paying taxes, I find it likely that after meeting king furry, he just became tax-exempt as a reward. like an official was like 'hey this guy isn't paying we need to do something' and KF went 'absolutely not'

like i don't think he's *avoiding* paying taxes i think he literally doesn't have taxes *to pay*

what bugs me about Morrigan in datv is that her story prior means nothing. her journey to escape an abusive mother, a destiny she didn't necessarily want, her journey of becoming a mother she never had... it all doesn't mean anything in datv. she's still an instrument of higher powers and what she worked for so hard is not even present.

and that's heartbreaking imo.

romanced lucanis canonically finds listening to rook's voice comforting so now I'm just imagining him sort-of sneakily arranging for my mourn watch mage rook, bellara and emmrich to be in a room together and sitting back with a cup of coffee to listen to the inevitable three hour mage nerds geeking out session that follows (he understands, optimistically, about 10% of anything they're saying at any given time but it's just nice that they're all happy). it's like meditation for him, letting all that magitech babble wash over him entirely uncomprehended. who even needs sleep after that (you still need to sleep lucanis)

to be honest i think the concept of flirting with and then getting rejected by video game characters is generally more interesting than a one-dimensional high enough friendship quantification + specific flirting dialogue option = marriage approach, including when this is specifically for reasons of incompatible sexualities, but then a video game designer is like I will allow you mechanically to express gay interest in this character but they are in fact #straight and the only possible answer is Well, you're wrong

being in a small fandom is like being given a bone, chewing on it until you're done with it, burying it in your backyard, and then digging that same chewed up bone months later to continue chewing on it, and then the cycle just repeats.this is especially true for small fandoms that you know won't be getting any new content, so you just have to consume the content you've already consumed thousands of times before.

How do you feel about the Everluxes?

Well, I'm actually someone who generally dislikes Ancients. I usually find that they're kind of a "waste" of an otherwise interesting breed concept, and the fact they can't wear apparel means I find them difficult to work with even when the colors are all aligned. They're usually just "discount moderns," to me.

So Everluxes are everything I want, actually!

They're something that could never exist as a modern breed because they break the 4-legs 2-wings mold, they're SUPER unique in terms of their grublike proportions and big chunky upper legs, and they released with a ton of amazing line-breaking genes that are fun to play with. This is exactly what I feel like Ancients have been missing since their release!

I actually strongly disagree that these guys are "unfitting" in the Light Flight-- I think everyone who's saying that just doesn't like that Light has a fat dragon. I'm losing patience with the way they'll say, "It's not because they're fat, it's because they're inelegant, ungraceful, gross, tubular, long, round, etc" and just expect people to not realize those are being used as alternate words for "fat." The only person they're fooling is themselves.

They have a lot in common with the other breeds, actually. The wings resemble the Imperial's. The rhino-like horn reminds me of the pearlcatchers. They have the same prehensile "feeler" whiskers. Even the way that they're really long makes me think of a sort of "beta" imperial.

I have a headcanon that the Lightweaver made Everluxes and was suuuuper proud of them, her little "bookwyrms..." and then her bully of a sister, Shadowbinder, got REALLY mean about them. Took jabs at every chance, and ultimately made Veilspuns as "LOOK, IT'S YOURS BUT BETTER LOL. MAYBE YOU COULD LEARN SOMETHING. YOU LOVE DOING THAT, DON'T YOU?"

Long hair, sleek features, strong and tricky... Lightweaver loved her design, but when she looked at what her sister could do, she felt ashamed. She'd just wanted people to help her archive and preserve knowledge, but now that she was being pressured to compare her creations to someone else's, suddenly the joy was gone.

And, of course, FlightRising lore enjoyers know what comes next.

Spurred on by that fierce feeling of inadequacy, her next set of creations would be larger, more beautiful, more powerful than anything that had ever come before. She forced every tear, every sob, every moment of anguish she'd ever felt into her next creation. No dragon that walked the soil of Sornieth would be able to hold a candle to the light of the masterpiece within her claws.

Imperials came after the Everlux-- and Emperors in their wake. The Lightweaver swore to never create a breed out of anguish ever again.

dragon age: the veilguard, is literally somebody’s fanfiction. i’m convinced, because i refuse to believe any of what i’m playing, is real. so much lore that you were exposed to from the previous games, is disregarded. “oh, you remember this detail from x game? not real anymore.”

A dragon with golden tail feathers who lives in a glass mountain with his wife (unclear if she is also a dragon), who keeps house for him. The dragon wife helps the protagonist find out some dragon secrets and he then leaves them in peace. (The King's Bodyguard)

A fire breathing dragon who guards two princes that were taken as prisoners of war during a battle and is defeated by the hero. (Lousehead)

A princess transformed into a dragon by a vengeful mermaid, she still seems to retain her human reason and possibly her voice and the curse is broken by a magician. (The Red Silk Ribbon)

A classic Melusine-type cursed maiden who has a fish tail but is called a dragon, and flies away howling like the wind when she is discovered. (The Howling of the Wind)

idk why but I really love it that there is always a bit of a distance between Varric and the Inquisitor. sure, they can be very friendly, Varric opens up to them as Varric does, but no further.

but there's always Hawke's presence about him. always that spot that you can't see but can feel. that best friend who is so entirely part of Varric that they are always there, even if not physically.

and then Hawke is in Skyhold and that space is filled again, and you, the player, see that™ Varric again from DA2. when he tells you about Hawke arriving, when they conspire privately. The Inquisitor can only guess, but you, the player, oh you know.

and then whatever happens in the Fade, it's back to that empty space that's always filled again, regardless. like a ghost.

The giggles spilling from his lips when his feet tripped over themselves as you tug him along the halls of the hidden pathways. His hand grips tightly on yours even though they are moist and sweat covered. “Maybe-” he hiccups, “you’d like to share another drink?”

Rolling your eyes at the drunken prince you shake your head, “Lucerys, it’s time to rest now.” he whines like a pup and you’re sure he looks like one. Getting to the hidden door you push it open and let him step inside his chambers, but he stops just a few inches and waits for you. It startled you when you face him, his eyes staring right at you as his body sways to kept itself balance.

“Is something the matter?” your amused smirk does nothing to him, usually he hides in embarrassment when you tease him. But all he does is stare at you and take in every detail of your face, and a spark in his dazed eyes you’ve never seen before.

“I must say you are very beautiful,” his hands flys up to your cheek and poked at the skin, “have I ever said it before? Because when I look at you I feel nervous- Flies swimming around my stomach and my heart bounds.” when he leans a bit to the left you catch him with your arm.

He pushes you off slightly to walk away like his words didn’t make your blush and swoon, he’s never been confident enough to say much. Luke walks, sloppy, and takes his night shirt off the chair where he left it the morning before but his haste movements almost knock something off the table beside him. You rush to aid him and make sure nothing is broken or makes much noise.

“Keep quiet, my prince. We mustn’t let anyone hear you.” He just shrugs and takes off the formal shirt to replace it with his evening shirt, you look away from him as he does.

“Well, I do feel quite tired,” you go to reply until his hands tug at your own and pull you toward his bed, making you fall on the soft mattress with him with a huff.

“I shouldn’t stay-” you try to convince him to let you go but he pulls you into his warm embrace.

“Stay with me,” his nose hits yours, “i wouldn’t have the courage in the morning to look you in the eye, just let me be brave with you for a little longer?” He pleads his case with his grip still latched onto you, how could you say no to his puppy eyes.

“You’ll have me until the sun rises.” he grinned and moves to get more comfortable in bed, his body turned against yours and hugged you from behind. A few silent seconds later and he fell asleep with his nose buried in your neck.
