The Voice - ch. 4
First Chapter | Previous Chapter AO3 | FFn
A Drakgo story.
Suspense/angst, injury, hurt/comfort multi-chap. Spoilers ahead if you've not read the first parts.
-------------
"I, um...would you like to hear another story?"
Of course she didn't respond, and Drakken felt the sick feeling return to his stomach. He frowned and looked away to where the red of the sunset had all but vanished. He wondered if he should turn the flashlight on when it got dark... He could still hear the rain through the hole in the cave's ceiling.
"The hover-car really won't take long to fix, as soon as the rain stops. I know you've been telling me to put a dome on it for years... Eddie would call it 'tricked out.' But it does have some utility... As long as I'm adding things, do you think it needs more seats? I know the last model had three in the front... It would be useful if we ever capture Kim Possible...although I suppose we could just stuff her in the trunk... Yes, I know that's what you would prefer... But I'd like her to hear my gloating before we imprison her for life in the dungeon... Oh! That...that was supposed to be a surprise..."
Drakken felt his chest constrict in pain again.
"I built a dungeon, under the new lair..."
Tears came to his eyes again. They would never capture Kim Possible together. Shego would never see the dungeon he had built. But...he could tell her about it.
"You...you might not like it. It's entirely cliche... I even put a fake skeleton in there, hanging from a wall with shackles... But I had it built it out of the natural cave, so lava is running through..."
Drakken realized just then that even though his clothes were dry, he was still very damp. The cave was hot and humid, and his hair hadn't dried at all in the time they had been inside. He tugged at his collar uncomfortably.
"It has those...old medieval cages that are only big enough for a person to stand in...hanging from caves over the lava flow... And it has a drawbridge over the lava, with the controls only on one side. Oh! You'll like this. I calculated the length of Kim Possible's grapple gun from various security footage and made sure the ceilings are higher. Even if she escapes the cages or shackles, she wouldn't be able to use that thing to get out. And I want to find something that she's afraid of to put inside, too... Maybe—"
He had been about to say 'spiders' but stopped short. The last thing Shego needed reminding of was spiders.
"Maybe I can build a projector...or a Pepper's ghost stage... What do you think the odds are that Kim Possible knows about Pepper's ghost? I'm sure her computer kid knows about them, but there wouldn't be anything digital for him to scan. That's what I'll do..."
He tugged at his collar again and suddenly felt itchy all over. He gently placed Shego's hand on her leg and noted how cold she seemed to be despite the heat in the cave.
"I'm just...going to take my shirt off. It's too hot," he explained as he moved off of the wall.
He stayed within her line of sight as he undid the buttons and then yanked the sweat-soaked garment off of his back, the sleeves sticking to his arms slightly. He tossed the shirt away in the direction of the unopened chip bags. He untucked the t-shirt he was wearing from his waistband and pulled at the front of the shirt a few times to air out his chest.
He looked at Shego's still-damp hair and the sheen of sweat over her face. He reached his hands cautiously toward the zipper of her suit.
"Do you want me to... Ah...n-never-mind," he said with a blush, changing his mind. She definitely would not want him undressing her, even if she was hot. And...it wouldn't matter anyway.
He leaned back against the wall and found the stone cool and a slight relief, though his back was still sweaty inside his t-shirt.
"Actually, that...that reminds me of another story. Do you want to hear it...? You probably don't... But my first year in college, I'm sure my dorm room was haunted."
He shifted to put his shoulder against hers, and when he picked up her hand to hold he noticed again how cold she was even through her suit. It wasn't a good sign. Or...maybe it was? Would a quick death be better?
He fought the urge to cry, and leaned his head against hers.
"It's a scary story... You can tell me later if you think so or not..." He paused to gather his emotions as he recalled the memory and decided where to start. "The dorm room I was assigned was on the top floor and in a corner. Oh, I should explain... This was the old building, that had been part of the old campus before MIST was founded. I...can't remember what the old college was called. But my dorm had been part of the original buildings that were built in the 1920's. So it had all the original plumbing, the walls were thicker...the windows had no screens and were single-plate glass... Some rooms, like mine, didn't have a shower and only an old claw-foot tub. And the water was fed from a natural hot spring. It would have been interesting, if not for the haunting...
"When I moved in I also had a freshman roommate. His name was Jonah... He was from Kenya. But that's not relevant... The room was very nice and we both liked it, but all of the upperclassmen told us we had the haunted room. They told us that back in the twenties...a man and woman had been shot and killed in our room, because the woman was the young wife of one of the professors...and the man was a student apprentice to that professor. It was the professor of course who murdered them, after catching them together.
"The story we were told was that the ghosts of the two victims haunted the room, and if anyone ever did anything at all dishonest...horrible things began happening to them. Freak accidents and injuries... Things going missing..."
The light from the sunset had vanished entirely, and Drakken found himself feeling afraid. He turned on the flashlight and set it facing up on the floor right between his and Shego's legs.
"I know what you're thinking. I'm being a baby... But it was really haunted, Shego! After the first couple of months...first, our laundry was destroyed. Down in the washroom... In the same machines we always used. Both mine and Jonah's, but no one else's was ruined. You could say that was just a coincidence... But later that week when I tried to take a bath... I filled the tub as usual while I shaved, but then when I went to get in...the cold water hadn't worked. The tub was only full of hot water. I could have been scalded! And...and before you say it's just coincidence or the old plumbing...that same night the window fell closed while Jonah was studying and the pane shattered. He had so many cuts on his arms and face.
"After that, Jonah admitted he had stolen the answers to the first chemistry test. I was livid. I couldn't believe he had done it, knowing our dorm was haunted! And I know you'll just say...it's still only coincidence. But that night... It was the night before the test... I was asleep, and I woke up when I heard Jonah shout. I saw...I saw two people standing over his bed. It was a man and a woman, and they were wearing clothes from the 1920's. And they both turned and looked at me and...then they vanished."
Drakken turned and looked at Shego's half-lidded eyes. Nothing about her expression had changed.
"I know you don't believe me... Or you think I dreamt it, because of the upperclassmen trying to tease us... But Jonah saw them too! We moved out of the dorm that weekend..."
Drakken's skin was crawling for the horrid memory, and he moved the flashlight closer. But it was casting ominous shadows on the ceiling of the cave and on Shego's face. He noticed how she was much paler than usual, and thought again of how cold her skin was to the touch. He checked her pulse and found it perhaps slightly slower...and her skin was definitely cold.
He realized that in the dark he wouldn't be able to work on the hover-car, even if the rain stopped, which it hadn't.
"I think...maybe we should sleep now," he said as his chest constricted in pain. Was she dying quickly? Would he wake up in the morning to find her gone? "It's too dark to work on the hover-car...and...and you're right, I probably should have just done it in the rain. But...there is no anti-venom for tarantula bites. Because they're..." He swallowed shakily. "They're not fatal."
He let go of her hand as his emotions got the better of him, and he picked up the flashlight.
"I'm turning this out now...um... I'll close your eyes for you, so you can sleep better..." He very gently closed her eyes one at a time with his index finger, and then he took her hand again before turning the flashlight off. He set the light down next to him and then moved closer to her, pressing his hot and sweaty side to her cold one. He leaned his head gently against hers.
"I know it hurts... But that's what it does," he said, trying to reassure her. He hated to lie to her...but he couldn't tell the truth. "And I know it seems like it's not getting better. But the venom just has to...run its course."
He stared into the darkness for a minute and listened to the rain above. He wondered what he would do in the morning... Whether it was raining or not...if she was still alive, he would fix the hover-car. But if she wasn't...
"When I was a child...I would use my glasses to burn bugs and spiders... You know, by focusing the sun's light through the lenses..."
Drakken yawned and let tears fill his eyes as he closed them.
"Don't worry Shego... Try to sleep... Don't worry."

@wolfoflightandearth ALLOW ME to enlighten you~
In the episode Rappin’ Drakken, Drakken tries to sell mind control shampoo...with his picture on the bottle.  He tries to market it by getting the product mentioned by a hip-hop super-star, who refuses.  He’s dejected, and then as a frustrated Shego is leaving for the weekend he realizes...it’s karaoke night!  Begin the chain of events:
Drakken and Shego go to karaoke.  While there Shego unwittingly gives him the idea to go on American Starmaker (American Idol) in order to push his product.  He performs a rap on live TV.
Unknown to anyone, the TV broadcast is picked up...by aliens.  These particular aliens are searching for a legendary figure in their mythos, “The Great Blue.”  One alien, Warmonga shows up some months later (Mad Dogs and Aliens) and claims Drakken as this figure and helps him take over the world.  They are foiled by Kim and a jealous Shego, who reveals to the alien he is NOT “The Great Blue” and tricks her to leave via a clever ruse.
Months later yet (Graduation Part 1 and 2), Warmonga and a companion return to Earth with a full robotic invasion force.  The aliens kidnap Drakken and Kim and set the robots to conquer Earth--their vengeance for Drakken’s deception and Kim’s “defeating” her previously.
And now you know.  And you have made me appreciate @ask-whitebag‘s original post even more!

No, she 'doesn't scare'
Oh, bull buttons, of course she does!
Not that she'd ever admit it aloud mind you.
The thought of nine feet tall Alien freaks conquering Planet Earth was definitely a scary thought to say the least, however the thought of losing her big blue bumbling idiot of a boss was much harder to bear.
The scariest thought of all however, was to think of just why that might be.
Uh oh.

First chapter: Part 1 Read on: FFn AO3
A Drakgo story. Big long multi-chap. Suspense! I hope, lol. Spoilers abound if you haven't read part 1, so here we go.
--------------------
As Drakken's tears fell he tried to think of any way to comfort Shego, and what she might be thinking.
"It's gone... I...um...you're right, let's get out of here," he said, imagining her yelling at him that they were still in danger, and that the spider would undoubtedly return.
He scooped her up in his arms and began going back the way they had come, toward the crash site of the hover-car. He positioned her head against his shoulder to try to give her some comfort through the movement. He was glad she couldn't see the tears streaming down his face.
"It, um...it paralyzed you," he said after a minute of running through the pouring rain, the orange of the sunset having turned to red as the bright orb sank further in the sky. "That's what they do. Don't worry."
He hoped she didn't know the rest.
As they passed from the thicker jungle into the more sparse trees near the cliffs where they had crashed, the rain fell in great warm sheets again, forcing Drakken to put his face down to see. He watched as the rain hit Shego's body, mixing with the blood of her wounds. The thin red streaks slid off of her body and hit the ground below, some falling on his lab coat as he ran frantically.
He wasn't sure why he was running...since there was no hope. But he didn't want her to know she was dying... The idea of her being paralyzed and in great pain that would only grow, as her body's functions gradually shut down... He couldn't add the certainty of death to the pain and fear she was already experiencing.
When he arrived at the hover-car he took stock of where he'd opened the hood trying to repair it, and never had the chance. The rain had started almost immediately, making it impossible to work, so they had turned inland.
He wondered if he should keep trying to repair it...or just flip it over and try to shelter beneath it. That would be uncomfortable... And very difficult to do without Shego's help. He decided instead to look for alternate shelter options. He could get Shego out of the rain, and then...then decide what use to make of the hover-car.
As he scanned the edge of the cliff he saw a place where the rocks rose higher in the distance. Perhaps there was a place to shelter there... He mentally debated for a moment, and then carefully set Shego down inside the hover-car.
"I...think I see a place to shelter, over that way," he pointed broadly within her line of sight. He pushed her hair out of her face as the rain plastered it down again. "I promise, I'll be right back! I know you don't like it, but...there has to be a better shelter than this. I'll be right back."
He turned and ran over the muddied ground toward where the rocks rose higher, hoping for some sort of overhang or place where the trees were more dense. He hated to leave Shego, and he was sure she was furious with him for it. But just standing in the rain wasn't an option either.
As he approached the higher rocks he held a hand over his eyes to block the rain as he looked closer. It looked like...
He stopped a moment as he stared. There was definitely an opening in the cliff face, low to the ground, as if it had been made by a burrowing animal. Except the ground beneath was solid and dry.
It might be a cave?
He started forward again and then stopped short.
Maybe it had another large spider in it. Or something worse.
He snarled as he hurried forward toward the opening and dropped down to his knees. He grabbed a small rock that was nearby and tossed it into the hole that was easily large enough for him to crawl in on hands and knees. But what was beyond, he couldn't tell. The setting sun wasn't providing enough information.
The rock he'd tossed echoed far distant, which told him that it was indeed a cave. But it didn't tell him if anything was inside.
He scowled and ran back toward the hover-car. He would have to explore with a flashlight...
As he got back and saw the rain had moved Shego's hair into her eyes again, he decided it was worth it to bring her with him. He pushed her hair back and then opened the glove compartment for a flashlight.
"I found a cave, but...I don't know if it's safe yet. But it's near some other cliffs, so there should be someplace dry," he said.
He pocketed the flashlight and carefully picked Shego up again. Her expression hadn't changed, and she'd shown no signs of movement. As an afterthought he stepped around to the trunk and grabbed the two bags of chips that were inside and dropped them on Shego's middle. And then he turned back to go to the caves.
He moved more slowly this time as the mud made his step uncertain, and he was more aware of Shego's head tending to drop backwards from where he had leaned it against his shoulder. He didn't want to hurt her any worse than she already was.
When they reached the cliff with the cave, he positioned himself so she could see the hole at the bottom.
"See? It's...it's a cave. But I have look inside to see if it's safe, first. So...ah..." He set her down to lean up against the side of the rock carefully.
He turned on the flashlight where she could see it, and then moved to the cave entrance. He shined the light over the ground and only saw dark earth and rock. After a moment of consideration, he lay down on his back and pushed his way into the cave and shone the light upward. He saw a low ceiling that wouldn't allow him to stand, but then to the left he saw a secondary tunnel where the ceiling rose higher and there was a hint of light coming through. His brow furrowed as he pushed his way into the rest of the cave and went to examine the second tunnel.
After crawling for about five feet he was able to stand up, and then turning a corner found himself in a much larger cave, about forty feet square. The ceiling rose very high, and up in one corner was a hole that was allowing the red light of the sunset inside. Rainwater was also trickling down and forming a puddle at the bottom of the cave from where it ran down against the wall.
There was another tunnel still, but Drakken didn't investigate it; he wanted to get back to Shego. He carefully made his way back out of the cave, noting the mud on his lab coat and on his knees due to the messy effort. Less than five minutes later, he was back at her side.
"The cave seems safe, and it's dry," he said, looking at her still face through the rain. He studied her eyes again and saw the fear and pain that let him know she was still aware of him.
He looked at the two bags of chips he'd left sitting next to her and first grabbed those. He went back to the cave entrance and tossed them in toward the tunnel, and then went back for Shego.
"I'm sorry, there...there isn't an easy way to do this," he said. He picked her up and held her upright in front of him and facing away. Then he lay down on his back in front of the cave entrance with Shego on his chest. He held the flashlight in his mouth as he needed both hands to hold onto Shego and keep her hair from getting pinned or snagged as he scooted on his back through the small entrance and the beginning of the tunnel, bringing them into the dark cave.

This is an AU ending of Chapter 53 of "Random Tales of Drakgo" by @gothicthundra, written with permission.   The first several paragraphs and dialogue are direct from the chapter to set up the scene.  It changes to my writing when Drakken closes his eyes and "waits for the joke to end," which I put in bold to clearly indicate where her writing stops and mine begins.  This contains several references to the story upon which it is based, and will have the greatest impact if you read the relevant chapters of RToD first.
Everything under the cut is Not Safe For Work, lemon, adults only, and so on.
-------------------------------
"Thinking about Sweets?" asked Shego. She looked towards where the hover car was hidden. "We could still return the stuff and you can woo her back... I won't help you serenade but I'll make lights."
"No, I'm pretty confident in my choice," said Drakken. He realized he was looking at Shego too long and changed the subject. "Why, you want me to drop you off at Dementor’s?"
"Uhg, for another unsatisfied night, no thanks." Shego made a movement like her skin crawled. "No."
"I thought you didn't remember?" asked Drakken with a raised brow. Shego looked him in the eyes.
"That's how I know it was an unsatisfactory night," said Shego. Drakken smirked, but her expression changed. "I want to say I'm sorry things didn't work out with you and the Queen of Candy Land, but..."
"I understand," said Drakken. He looked at their attire. "Are we going to talk about this?"
"Let's not, or we'll end up talking about the irony of the whole thing... Like the night of their engagement, he chose Elphaba over Glinda and ditched their party... Which is so unrealistic. No man chooses a maybe over a sure thing," said Shego as they began heading towards the hover car.
"He clearly valued one relationship over the other," said Drakken, shaking his head.
"There was no guarantee Elphaba might have been into him," snorted Shego as they entered the deserted park. "Are you telling me that if Carmella had asked you between having a wild night with her or sitting here with me, you would have chosen me? I doubt it."
"...No," said Drakken. He swallowed hard, then gave a scoff. "Definitely not."
"See," said Shego. She slowed her walk and smirked. "I mean, they did end up having sex in a forest...so it worked out."
"They made out," said Drakken with a raised brow.
"No, they had sex," said Shego with a scoff. She rolled her eyes. "They had hot steamy sex in a forest, that's why it cut away to a different scene. Because it was no longer PG-13, Doc."
"How very nice," scoffed Drakken. He indicated to the patch of ground through the trees they were walking through to get to the hover car. "Would you have sex there?"
"Are you asking me?" asked Shego with a raised brow, a dark glint in her eye. "You want to fully embrace the irony of this whole evening? Should we sing too?"
"No...that is...no." Drakken felt suddenly flustered, and he didn't want to imagine that right now. He cleared his throat. "I just don't think it would be that good, that's all."
"With me or the forest?" asked Shego, getting close to him, her smirk unwavering. "Because I know one of them wouldn't disappoint."
"Sh-Shego." Drakken backed into a tree as she moved closer to him. He furrowed his brow. "Can you not..."
"Can I not, what?" asked Shego. She was very close to him now. Her hand touched his face, not looking away from his eyes.
"Not..." Drakken wasn't sure where this was going and he was suddenly on the verge of his second mental breakdown of the night, and he felt his stomach twist. He closed his eyes and waited for the end of the joke.
"Don't you think Elphaba can satisfy better than Glinda?" Shego continued in the same tone.  "Besides... I'm sure Fiyero can satisfy better than...uh..."
Drakken's eyes opened and he narrowed them on her curiously.
"Well, Elphaba didn't have another love interest, but you get what I mean."
She was still staring into his eyes, her hand on his face.  He picked up on her cue and thought about the unfortunate incident with Dementor.  It made him ill to think about, as it also seemed to make Shego.  But she couldn't seriously be suggesting...?
He realized she was holding her breath, and his brow rose.  His lips parted to speak, but at that instant a ripping feeling on his face caused him to yelp.  He reached up to the stinging spot and realized she'd torn away one of the triangle stickers.
"These have been bothering me all day," she said, crumpling the thing up and turning away.  He noticed a slight tremor to her voice, and he impulsively reached out to grab her wrist.  Shego turned and gave him an amused look.  But she was still holding her breath.  Drakken realized he had begun to hold his.
"They had...cut away to a different scene, you say?" he began slowly, taking a step back toward the forest and pulling her with him.
Shego's eyes widened, but then her expression fell into a smirk.
"Mm-hmm," she played back into the joke.  But Drakken wasn't so sure now that she had been joking...  He still expected it, but his mind was swirling as much as his nerves.  Did she want something to erase the experience with Dementor, though she claimed no memory of it?  He swallowed nervously and decided to call her bluff.
"How did it really go?" he asked, still pulling her toward a patch of grass in the forest, surrounded by trees.  It was secluded enough.
Am I actually considering this?
Shego's eyes had widened again at his question and her expression wasn't as quick to fall back to the smirk that time.
"Well, after the singing..."
"No singing," Drakken interrupted, and then his breath caught.  He was considering it.  He couldn't consider it.  Why was he?  Why was he still leading her toward the grass?
"Awww, but you love singing at karaoke!" Shego teased. "Why not before a romp?"
Drakken ignored the question.  "What actually happened?"
They had reached the patch of grass, and Drakken released her wrist.  There was hesitation behind the smirk in her eyes, but then her grin broadened and Drakken yelped as he was suddenly brought to his knees with her in front of him. His heart started racing for fear... What was he thinking?  He...they couldn't do this.  Shego's hesitation seemed to be growing too, to his relief, and he hoped she would soon put an end to it or else he would have to.  He shouldn't have encouraged it.  She took a deep breath before speaking.
"As wicked as she was feeling, she probably ripped his clothes off," Shego said casually, moving her gloved hands to his shoulders on either side of his neck.
This was the moment Drakken was sure it would end, either with another yank of a triangle sticker from his cheek, or perhaps laughter at his expression which he was certain was horrified.  He held his breath, and noted Shego still holding hers.  Silence fell between them.
"You're not joking," fell from his lips before he could stop the words.  He felt his face flush even as he saw Shego's do the same, regret and anger immediately filling her eyes.  He grabbed her wrists hard as she started to move away from him.  "Why aren't you joking?"
Tears started to join the anger in Shego's eyes, and sudden heat from her glow made his hands uncomfortably hot within his gloves as her own melted away.  She tried to yank her wrists away from him, but he impulsively pulled her forward into a hard kiss, holding her glowing hands up and back so she couldn't singe him.
For a moment neither of them moved, but then he tentatively tested the situation further by moving his lips against hers.  When she responded he was shocked, and he released her wrists to have her extinguished hands fall to his shoulders, and his own went around her back.
"Why?" he asked when their lips broke, mentally asking himself the question as much as he was asking her.
Shego glanced away.  "...It would be the ultimate thing to rub in Princess Bubblegum's face."
Drakken looked at Shego's nervous blush.  He considered how sweet the lingering taste of her kiss was.  It was nothing like Carmella's had been.  That kiss was saccharine, temporary, artificial...  There was something deeper behind Shego's he realized, just from that brief moment.
He thought of Carmella asking him to choose between the pair of important women in his life, and the feel of her hands in his compared to how Shego felt in his arms right then.  He recalled Carmella's insistence on preferring Act One of the musical, Duff Killigan's teasing about preferring Act Two, and the Scotsman's teasing from weeks prior about him not being over his crush on Shego.
He realized two things then... That Duff was right, and also...
"Is that the only reason?" Drakken asked.  "Because...I can't do this, if that's all."
Shego turned back to him with a soft gasp, her eyes searching his.  She didn't speak for several seconds and he wondered what she was thinking.  His heart felt like it would escape his chest as he took the greatest risk he'd ever taken.
"Fiy-...what's his name...did choose a maybe, over a sure thing," he said.
Shego blinked at him several times before her eyes narrowed.  "What...?"
Drakken shrugged, trying desperately to ignore the flips of his stomach.  If he was wrong, and she was just pushing a joke too far...he would have lost everything that night.  Even his Plan wouldn't have the same luster without Shego.
The silence was lasting far too long for his liking as Shego stared at him, her eyes wide and searching and also seeming to drift to some deep place.  As the moment dragged on his anxiety rose, and he was just about to laugh off the idea as a joke taken much too far when Shego spoke, her brow furrowed in concentration.
"She asked you to choose...?  And you chose me?"  Her words were disbelieving.
Drakken swallowed the lump in his throat as he nodded.  He was suddenly aware of Shego's hands moving toward his collar again.
"Yes," he breathed.
"Well..." she said, looking down, her fingers resting over the gold buttons, "I guess I should give you those physical benefits."
Drakken was confused and suddenly fearful of green fire appearing at his throat, but then as he caught her meaning he nearly choked. His mind raced back to her earlier use of the phrase and his response, and his face reddened as he realized what she had been thinking. Shego started undoing his gold buttons and he felt panic rise.
"You don't...I mean if you don't want...that's not..."  She froze amid his ramblings and he let out a growl of frustration at his inability to articulate.  "That is...  I didn't...think you felt this way?"
He looked to where her chest was heaving, her eyes uncertain again.  He realized she was probably having every doubt he was having, along with whatever her own were.  He had never imagined she could have feelings like those he had tried to bury... But if she did...
"Shego—"
He didn't get to finish as her lips crashed into his, her kiss hungry this time instead of uncertain.  He didn't stop it when he felt her hands on his buttons again, and he started feeling behind her hair for a clasp or zipper at the top of her high collar.  If she did have feelings...he wasn't going to lose this opportunity.
His heart continued to pound as the only sounds in the forest were their kissing, their heated gasps for air in between, and the sound of clothing coming undone.  His gloves, jacket, and belt were on the ground beside them, and he had finally undone a tiny clasp at her neck and was able to slide her zipper down.  It was that action, the zipper descending below her hips and where he could feel the waistband of her undergarments, that finally caused her to pull away.
He stared into her still-uncertain eyes as her fingers lingered at his waist, where she was making ready to tug off his undershirt.  Drakken didn't want the moment to end and he hastened to fill the silence.
"'Just for this moment...'" he sang softly, remembering the song's lyrics, hoping the tremor in his voice wasn't audible.
Shego's expression brightened, though her eyes still revealed anxiety.  He continued.
"'As long as...'" Shego joined him on the last two words, "'you're mine.'"
Drakken's jaw worked for a moment, but he couldn't remember any of the other lyrics.  He lifted a free hand to her cheek instead where she was blushing, her eyes awed.  And then with a raised brow, he reached to his own cheek and yanked off the last triangle sticker.  Shego chuckled, and he could hear the nerves in her voice.
"You didn't have to rip it off like I did," she said.
"Wanted to make sure you know who you're with," he said.  Her smile fell and her eyes widened in awe again while he gave a slight grimace.  "Not some...costumed character.  Just m-me."
He cringed internally over his stutter on the last word, but Shego didn't seem to notice.  Her chest was heaving again, and as before, her response was to launch her arms around him and bring her lips to his.
Drakken fell back on his heels and braced himself with one arm, while his other went around her waist.  When he felt up her bare back she pulled away and yanked him forward before pulling off his undershirt.  Part of him still wanted to run, but the other part couldn't risk losing the moment.  He started gently pulling her dress away from one shoulder and then the other.
When the dress was about to fall from her chest she leaned back, holding the fabric up with her hands.  He realized she must not be wearing anything beneath, and that the last line was about to be crossed.  She was still hesitant, and part of him itched to ask why.  But the other part was afraid any hesitation would not only ruin the moment, but their entire relationship.  He swiftly began undoing his belt and pulled down his zipper, to show her he had made up his mind.
A soft gasp left her lips, and with a flush of embarrassment he reached down to his boots to yank those off.  There would be nothing artful or romantic about scrambling out of his pants on the grass, but he couldn't back down.  Just when his thumbs hooked under both his waistbands to tug everything down, he heard her breath hitch again.  He looked up from where he had been focused and watched her bring her hands down to her sides as she rose to be on her knees.
Drakken's eyes locked with hers, excited but nervous.  He reached up to her hips and gently tugged the fabric downward, his eyes rising to where the black material slid downward to reveal green flesh.  His breath caught as he stared.  He glanced up at Shego's face for a moment to make sure he wasn't dreaming, but couldn't help himself but to continue staring at her chest.
"S-So...you do get affected by me," Shego said shakily.
"Nghn... Of course I do!  You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," he said.
Whatever Shego's reply might have been was halted as he stood up.  He picked up the costume tailcoat and spread it out over the grass, hoping the lined interior would be enough of a barrier from the hard ground.  When he looked back to Shego he did a double-take first at her half-naked form, and then brought his gaze to her face.  She was finally starting to look less nervous, and even excited.  His own nerves began to calm.  Maybe...she did have feelings after all.
"Lay down," Shego said, startling him.
"What?"
Shego pulled her arms from the lace sleeves of the dress, and her hand on his hip guided him to move as instructed.  He wasn't about to argue with her now that she definitely seemed to be sure of where they were headed, and he obliged her, leaning up on his elbows as he took the place he'd assumed would be hers atop his coat.
He might have realized her intentions sooner, but the dress falling entirely from her hips and leaving her only in her shoes and some very attractive black underwear distracted him.  His eyes were focused on her impossibly perfect curves when he realized that his pants and boxers were being tugged down, and his growing erection being freed.
He felt a flash of embarrassment as he looked at his crotch, and then a glance at Shego's wide, astonished eyes left him even more confused.  He was about to apologize for...what, he wasn't sure.  Not being fully hard yet, for being blue, for being of disappointing size, when he saw excitement fill Shego's eyes.  Her hand reached down and cupped the sensitive flesh and he let out a hiss, the slight contact already sending a rush of blood downward.
"Think I owe you this," Shego said, giving him a shy smirk.  His eyes widened as he finally understood, and he watched her push her hair all over one shoulder as she bent her face down.  He leaned up further on his elbows, eyes wide as he watched her lift his growing arousal with her hand and then bring her lips over the tip.
An incoherent sound escaped his chest in a breath as she began to pleasure him, her hand gently attending the base of his shaft while she first suckled on his tip like he was a lollipop, the pressure firm and intoxicating.  Then she changed her approach and moved her lips over so she was kissing the side of him, and then glided her mouth down, suckling his skin all the while as her tongue provided a different soft texture, the gentle licks giving a variance to the pressure.
Drakken's senses reeled as he watched her go about the task methodically, giving the same attention to each side of his shaft which had quickly risen to full mast under her attentions.  Her hand had moved to gently tease the dark hairs that gave little modesty to the area as it turned out, the occasional attention to his scrotum sending even more electric sensations of pleasure through him and making him wonder how long she intended to keep this up; he wasn't sure how long he could last.
She finally moved to the more familiar tactic he had expected and slid her mouth down over his length, her eyes closing as she did so.  She didn't go far—perhaps two inches at most—before sliding back up.  He watched her blink and was surprised to see nerves in her eyes again before they closed and she built a slow rhythm.  It was the most incredible thing he had ever felt...and the most amazing thing he had ever seen, with Shego's perfect lips sliding up and down to pleasure him, her cascade of hair fallen over his thighs.  He had never even dreamed something so glorious, and he suddenly realized that if she didn't stop they wouldn't be having the hot, steamy sex that hadn't been shown on the stage.
"Your turn," he said abruptly, starting to shift upright.  Shego's lips left him with a pop, and he hissed.
"What?" she asked, blinking in surprise.
"Your turn.  Lay down," he said, reaching past her to slide his pants the rest of the way off, and causing her to sit up in further surprise.
They traded places, Shego still looking astonished at the turn of events, while Drakken was a bit relieved.  He hoped the minutes would let him calm down enough so that when the moment came, he could last long enough to satisfy her.  But just in case...
Shego was now seated on his open coat and leaned back on her elbows, her knees lifted and modestly pressed together.  He moved down below them and set his hands on his hips, glancing at where his erection still glistened from her attentions and then to her surprisingly shy expression.
A sudden flash of unease struck him, and he wondered about her experience with Dementor that she claimed was unsatisfying and entirely out of memory.  He wondered if she'd been truthful, and if there had been something about it causing her hesitation now.  She was the one who had set them on this path, first with her teasing and then an apparent desire he realized was still unspoken.  She had answered all of his questions with a kiss.  He took a nervous breath and put on a confident smile.
"You'll definitely remember this night," he said boldly.
Shego's eyes widened and her face flushed deeper as his hands slid atop her knees and waited there.  As they stared at each other he saw something in her face soften, and then she began to move her legs apart.  Drakken grinned as he took the cue and reached down to gently pull off her panties, spreading her legs wide after they were gone to settle comfortably between them.  He was thrilled to see the green folds already glistening, and he looked up again to see her still looking slightly uncertain.
He was torn between asking her what was wrong, and simply going ahead.  Everything in him wanted to pleasure her, to make her forget she'd ever had the misfortune of being with Dementor, and hopefully find deeper feelings between them that he'd tried so desperately to close his heart to.  But he couldn't.  Not with that look in her eyes.
"Shego?  What's wrong?"  Even the asking sent pain to his heart, for fear he'd just ruined everything.
Shego startled and he watched her try to hide her unease.
"Nothing's wrong."
Drakken's brow furrowed.  "...Are you sure?"
Shego looked annoyed then.  "Your face is three inches from my crotch.  Don't ruin this."
"Noted," Drakken said, immediately switching focus.  If a conversation was to be had, that was clearly not the time.
He tugged his undershirt beneath his crotch and then lay on his stomach on the cool grass, sliding his hands up her stomach until they cupped her breasts.  He watched her expression fall to surprise and pleasure as he began skillfully manipulating the flesh in his hands, and then he turned his gaze lower.
He began with nuzzling kisses to her inner thighs, pressing his face in and gently suckling the soft flesh.  He let his lips trail all the way up to her navel before descending again, prolonging the teasing before he finally gave a tiny lick to the small, sensitive peak just visible at the height of her folds.  She let out a whimper in response and Drakken looked to see her head fall back in pleasure, her thighs pressing upward against his arms.
He grinned and set himself about the goal of making her lose herself in pleasure.  He gave long, laborious licks over her opening, alternating between attending the flesh of the outer folds to the ones dripping at her center.  When he finally pushed his tongue inside she fell to her back, her hands moving to cover his over her breasts as he never faltered in his attentions there as well.
"Onhh..." Her moan of pleasure thrilled him, but a sudden flash through his mind made him wonder.  He pulled his tongue back and began tracing a very specific shape across her folds.
"D," he stated when finished.  Shego glanced up at him, her chest heaving for breath and a question in her eyes.  He moved down again, slowly tracing another very deliberate shape.  "R."
As he traced the letter A, he brought the tip of his tongue up to her firm and swollen clitoris, the touch there eliciting a pleasured cry from her lips.  Her hips began rising and trying to meet his tongue that much faster, but he held her thighs down with the strength and pressure of his upper arms.
"Let me finish!" he insisted perhaps too harshly, but when their eyes met he saw a delirious pleasure there.  And even more...she was smiling at him adoringly.
He felt something shift in his heart as he bent back to the task of spelling his name, claiming her as his now, no matter who had touched her in the past.  And the way she had just looked at him...  Was it just because he was bringing her physical pleasure?  Or did she have feelings, just as he did?
He had scarcely finished the N when her body convulsed, her climax coming with repeated cries of his name as her legs trembled beneath his arms.  He felt the shift in his heart again at the sound of his name on her voice, and he continued to wonder.  But before he could give deeper presence to the thought her hands were under his arms and tugging him upward.
He moved with her until their chests were pressed together, his knees blessedly on the tails of the coat instead of in the grass, and Shego's legs locked around his waist, her heels pressing into his rear.  His arousal was between them, pressing into her stomach as she was still gasping for breath, her sweat-dampened body warming his as he looked into her eyes.  Her fingers were on the sides of his face as she stared up into his eyes.  He smirked and broke the silence.
"Worth remembering yet?"
"Yes," Shego said breathlessly.
Drakken wanted to promise it would get better, but he couldn't.  He moved his face down to her breast instead, her arms going around his back as he indulged in kissing the flesh he had struggled not to fantasize about.
"Come on!" Shego said a few minutes later, though her whimper that followed it as his teeth teased a nipple suggested she wasn't all that impatient over the situation.  He repeated the action over her other breast and finally shifted into position.
Shego's fingers wove into his hair and Drakken felt hesitation himself as suddenly she was staring at him.  What if she made fun of him?  What if he was even less satisfying than—he forced away the hated name that came to mind—her past lovers?  What if after they did this, they couldn't find a balance between them and she would quit and leave him?  How was he even supposed to relate to her after this?  Would they...become lovers?
He was suddenly left with no more time to think about it, as he felt her hand leave his hair and move down his back to grip his rear end.  Her eyes were flashing, and he saw doubt building within the bright green orbs.  In a split second he made the decision and followed the guiding of her hand, slowly pushing within her.
Shego gasped, her arms tightening around him as she hid her face in his shoulder.  He could feel her thighs trembling already, but more he was overwhelmed by the tight friction that encompassed him, like electricity to his nerve endings with the slightest of movements.  It wasn't until Shego began kissing his shoulder that he followed through on the instinct to move again, and before long they were moving together in a slow but steady rhythm, her hips rising to meet his thrusts.
His hands were gripping her shoulders, her silken hair the cushion for his face as he focused on the hot sensations below.  Both of her hands had moved to his rear at one point, as he’d felt the grip of her fingernails, but her arms were tight around his back again and he could feel her panting breaths on his neck, broken by whimpers and moans of pleasure that sounded in time with each thrust.
"Oh, Drakken! Drakken!" her voice sounded in a desperate cry, and he turned just in time to meet her hungry kiss as her hips pressed more insistently against his.
He shifted to lean up on his elbows, continuing to kiss her as he quickened their pace.  He became aware of the hardness of the ground beneath his knees, despite the barrier of the coat, and he wondered if being on the ground was hurting Shego.  When he lifted his head to ask, the thought was eclipsed by a further awareness.  The moonlight fell like silver around them, and after a quick, nervous glance around to be sure they were alone, his eyes fell to the woman beneath him.  Her green skin shone almost teal under the blue of the moonlight, her sweat-slickened breasts heaving with his every thrust, and her eyes...staring up at him, were unreadable.
"Shego..." he breathed, realizing again with stark clarity just where they were, and what they were doing.
"Dr. D.," she interrupted, and he halted his movements—as much as possible, as he discovered that both his and her hips continued a small gyration regardless.
"Yes?" he gasped, brushing her hair from her face and trying to move the lengths of it so it wouldn't be as tangled after.
"Do you...have feelings for me?"
Drakken froze on the question.  His hands moved back to her shoulders as he considered his answer.  He knew he did... But he had been fighting to bury them, knowing she didn't and wouldn't ever have any for him.  Except, now, considering where they were...
"Yes," he admitted, his gaze falling.  But then he looked up with resolve.  "Do you have feelings for me?"
It was Shego's turn to look uncertain.  She glanced away several times, looking at his eyes in between.  Her hands had moved to his shoulders, but as she took a deep breath she snaked them around his neck, she looked at him steadily.  She nodded slowly.
"Yes..." she said, her voice soft and almost afraid.  "Yes."
Drakken bent to kiss her, his heart flooding with warmth.  She returned the kiss with a passion that had been absent before, and he wondered if it was their mutual admission that had changed things.  He let himself be lost after that, in her kiss, in their intimate embrace, in the sensual rhythm of their bodies as they made love.  He didn't know how much time passed, but he felt a tightening heat before he heard her begin to scream.
His name sounded from her lips repeatedly, and he slowed his thrusts slightly, kissing her breasts as she convulsed beneath him.  Her throes of pleasure, coupled with the sudden increase in tightness spurred him to his own ending.  She had just barely relaxed beneath him when he let his hips move solely on instinct, his thrusts rapid, and he realized with embarrassment that he now heard his own voice, grunting her name desperately amid the other incoherent and vulnerable sounds he was making.
He held her tightly as he reached his peak, gasping into her hair as she began peppering his cheek with kisses, and as control returned he continued slowly pushing into her, each small thrust making the pleasure linger as he realized that the new heat was a result of his emptying himself within her.
She was still kissing his cheek and his neck when he started to fall from the high, and he suddenly worried he'd made a grave mistake.  This was Shego.  His side-kick, his confidant...and he hoped, his friend.  What would become of them now?  She said she had feelings for him, but apparently not enough to stop him from...
Drakken realized in a flash that Carmella had left his mind entirely while he was there with Shego.  Any thought he'd had of proposing to the candy villainess was gone completely.  But...Shego had been going to let him do it?  Even though she said she had feelings?
A strange, sick feeling came over him as he thought of Carmella, and he forced her from his mind.  He held Shego closer and began kissing her face as she was his, hoping he hadn't just made the biggest mistake of his life.  Because to lose Shego...was unthinkable.
Rather than communicate his concern, he showed her his feelings through kisses, over her face, her neck, her shoulders, always coming back to her lips where she met his affection warmly and with hums of happiness.  It soothed his heart to hear the bliss in her voice, and to feel it in her return kisses.  When he finally felt brave enough to look at her, her arms were still looped tightly around his neck, and her legs around his waist and rear.  She was smiling smugly at him, but in her eyes was a settled peace that further calmed him.
He found himself without words as he stared at her, moving his fingers to brush her hair away from her eyes.  Shego glanced away and cleared her throat.
"I'm...completely satisfied," she said with a blush.
Drakken suddenly realized she was referring back to his earlier questions about Dementor, and his brow furrowed.  But before he could even consider what to say in response, Shego continued.
"I hope you are, too..."
There was uncertainty in her eyes behind the smile, and Drakken suddenly realized what she was thinking.
"I never slept with Carmella," he said, again feeling slightly ill at the thought of the woman, the same as he felt at the mention of Dementor.
Shego's brow shot up in surprise.  "You didn't?"
He shook his head slightly, dipping down to kiss her neck in hopes of returning to the bliss and leaving all negative thought behind.
"No," he said simply, not wanting to think of either his would-be lover or Shego's drunken one-night stand.  He resumed kissing her neck and let his thoughts come out freely.  "I always had someone else on my mind..."
Shego pushed against his shoulder, and sudden fear struck him.  What had he said wrong?
With great regret he moved away and sat up, but the feeling was erased as Shego moved with him, scarcely separating them until they found themselves in a new awkward position with her seated between his legs, wrapping hers around him again as she pressed her chest to his.  Drakken felt the sticky wetness where their nether regions met and blushed as he mirrored her pose, holding her tightly.  Her chin was on his shoulder, and he set his on hers, sniffing her hair which somehow still smelled of apples and sweetness despite now being tangled with bits of grass mixed in.
"'As long as you're mine...'"
The words were so soft Drakken almost hadn't heard them, but when he realized Shego had sung the line from the musical again his heart soared.  All of his worries dissolved in that moment.  They may not know what was ahead... They may scarcely have a handle on the present.  But at least now, he knew...she didn't regret that night.  And neither did he.
Drakken hummed decisively in response, and kissed her soundly.  When they parted and he looked at her, he could see her shivering slightly despite her elated smile.
"Are you cold?" he asked.
"Mmh, not really," she said, her smile growing as she held him tighter.  "But we should probably go home and get cleaned up."
Drakken couldn't withhold a small smirk.  "Home?"
Shego looked startled and she blushed, but then she smiled in a strange mixture of shyness and annoyance as she tucked her head back onto his shoulder.
"Yes.  Home."
Drakken was reluctant to let go of her, but he gradually released her from the embrace so they could start getting dressed.  The absence of her from his arms was already painful and he found himself speaking ahead of his thoughts again.
"My bed is pretty big," he blurted out, watching Shego don her underwear as he continued to sit there.
Shego's brow rose, but he could tell by her smirk that she was pleased by the invitation.
"Another proposition already," she stated.  "Moving a lot faster with me than you did with—"
Drakken had stood and now covered Shego's mouth with his hand, to her surprise.
"Don't talk about her.  It's...always been you."
Shego's expression was awed as she stared at him, but when her brow started to furrow he realized he was still covering her mouth.  He let his hand fall quickly and busied himself with getting dressed.
"Well... I have wondered if that ridiculous bed is justified."
Drakken was relieved by her words and the smirk on her face as she got back into her dress.  He folded his coat over his arm once he reached that point, as it needed a thorough cleaning.
"Oh believe me... It is," Drakken answered.  And as an afterthought to himself he said softly, "And it's about to get infinitely better."
"Okay.  Then I accept," Shego said with a smirk.  But the knowing smile in their eyes told him they were moving past the banter into something new.
He took her hand to place over his arm, but she snaked it around his waist instead and pressed into his side.  He mirrored the action and smiled down at her as they walked to the hover car.  And as Drakken allowed himself to settle into the happiness, he began softly humming the song again that he knew would be impressed upon his memory forever.  When he reached the end of the chorus his lips parted to sing the only words he could remember, and Shego held him tighter as she again joined him on the telling lyric.  Drakken's smile grew all the brighter.
"'As long as you're mine...'"

The Voice - ch. 3
Previous Chapter | First Chapter Read on: FFn | AO3
A Drakgo (Kim Possible) suspense and hurt/comfort story. Spoilers here, lol. Enjoy.
A/N: So like....my writing style... When I first wrote this I wrote it as one giant narrative, like most my stuff. So breaking it into chapters is kind of tricky. If it feels like they start and end abruptly or something...it's cuz this was never meant to be chapters. But posting 50K word fics in one lump (like I prefer...) is kinda frowned upon I guess, lol. So chapters it is. Anyway, hope y'all are enjoying.
Part 3
He paused a moment before standing as the cave opened up, catching his breath. Dragging Shego with the rain pouring down on his face had been difficult.
After he stood and carried Shego into the larger chamber, he debated a moment before setting her down at the highest and driest spot, propping her up to face the side of the room with the puddle and the ray of red sun that was bringing a bit of light to the cave.
He sighed shakily when the task was done and reached up to wipe his face...and then paused as he found one of his gloves to be muddied. He looked at Shego and saw streaks of mud on her legs and on her arms and middle from where he had carried her. He moved to kneel in front of her and started to wipe the mud off.
"I'm just...getting the mud off of you," he said, looking to where her head had lolled to the side. He also noticed that the four bleeding wounds had darkened where the blood was starting to coagulate. He couldn't decide if it was good or bad...because if her body's functions slowed more gradually, it would only prolong her suffering.
He scowled and took his gloves off and tossed them aside, and then took off his lab coat, which was covered in mud. He noted that the inside was still dry and clean, and after a moment spread it out against the wall. He almost moved Shego to sit on it until realizing that she was still wet. He would move her when she was dry.
He picked up one of the bags of chips and was about to tear into it when he realized it would be unfair to eat in front of Shego when she couldn't.
She would never eat again.
Feeling sick to his stomach, he tossed the bag aside. He pushed his hair out of his face, and then did the same for her. He thought a moment and wrung the water out of her hair, and then lifted her head to try to lean it in a way that was more upright.
"So...so the paralysis...will last a long time," he explained. He tried to think of what she may be thinking and what questions she would ask. "I'm not sure how long since...we don't know how much venom the spider injected."
He looked at her still face. In his mind, he could hear her yelling about how it was all his fault, and how if he knew about spiders then he should be doing something to solve the problem.
"Um...when the rain stops, I'll try to fix the hover-car again. And then we'll go to a hospital. We're close to home. I know it hurts, but...it won't make a difference if we wait."
He stood up quickly and moved out of her line of sight as he felt the threat of tears in his eyes again. He was lying to her, but he also wasn't. It wouldn't make a difference to wait...because nothing could be done.
He turned and looked down at her again and made the decision not to be quite so selfish. He sat down next to her and cautiously held her gloved hand in his bare one. He moved near enough to press his dry shoulder into her wet one, and reached up again to brush the damp hair back. That time he pulled it all the way back so it wouldn't fall in her face again, and he stared at her half-lidded eyes.
"Would you like your eyes open, or closed?" he asked. He knew she wouldn't be able to answer. "If it keeps raining...and we have to sleep here, then I'll close them for you. Uhm..." He looked down to where he held her hand. He wondered if she wouldn't like it, and if she would rather he wasn't leaning up against her side. "If...if you don't like me being so close, you can...use me for target practice later. I was just thinking...if the spider had gotten me and I was paralyzed, I would want someone...I would want...you...close to me."
He bit his lip and mentally kicked himself. There couldn't possibly be a worse time to be talking about his feelings.
They had been on three dates. Only three. And each had only gone 'okay' as far as he was hoping. Shego hadn't left the dates early or set anything on fire, but she hadn't seemed as thrilled as he was either. None of the dates had ended with her smiling. But, she kept saying yes to his invitations... They were supposed to have gone on another at the upcoming weekend.
Tears filled his eyes again as he realized it would never happen. He would never get to tell her...that he loved her.
He wiped his eyes as quietly as he could with his free hand. He couldn't do it... He couldn't tell her something so important when she couldn't respond, and when she was dying... It wasn't fair. Especially if she didn't feel the same, then it would only make everything worse.
He sighed and looked back at her still face. Her lips were slightly parted, and he could see wetness at one corner of her mouth. Rain? Saliva? He held his breath and set his fingers beneath her chin and felt for her carotid artery...
"I'm just checking how fast your pulse is..." he said as he stared into her half-lidded eyes. The fear that he could have been talking to a corpse for the past twenty minutes nearly choked him, and he sighed in relief as he felt her heart beating strong, but far too rapidly beneath his fingers. He let himself gently stroke her cheek before he returned his hand to his lap, and then mentally kicked himself. That could have been very unwelcome.
"Sorry..." he said.
He took a deep breath and thought about what he would actually do when it stopped raining. He would have to fix the hover-car eventually...since he wasn't about to leave Shego to find help without any transportation. And not when giant monster-spiders were around, and perhaps even worse things.
"I think I can have the hover-car fixed...pretty quickly, when the rain stops. I really think it was just a blown fuse... I can replace it with another from a non-essential feature..."
Drakken's brow furrowed as a memory suddenly struck him. Of all things to think about, on the very worst day of his life...
"That actually reminds me...of this one camping trip with Cousin Eddie... I know you don't like him, so...so you'll like this story," Drakken continued. "It was the summer before I moved to Colorado. He said I needed to have one last adventure since I had...become so nerdy and lame, and that he was going to rekindle my wild side. He did that air guitar thing, you know, where he plays it really lamely... That's how he described me.
"It started badly since he insisted we just take the bikes, and I knew we couldn't take enough camping gear on motorcycles. But he insisted. He said we didn't need tents, that real men just slept in the dirt... We started at a camp site and then hiked out to be in the woods and somewhere more private. I was glad for that since the camp site was full and...it was embarrassing just to come in on motorcycles with almost no supplies. And there were...some really cute girls at one of the camp sites. Th-that's important."
Drakken swallowed nervously as he recalled the memory. He wondered if it was okay to talk about past romantic interests with Shego... His chest tightened in pain again as he realized that his relationship with Shego was over. He tried to shake off the thought and continued talking.
"And...I promise I'll get to how this is relevant," he said, knowing Shego would be complaining if she could. "It was all fine at first... I was cold at night since we didn't have sleeping bags, and Eddie ate all of the snacks that first night. And drank most of the booze... Not that I wanted much, I was never much of a drinker... And I was nervous since we didn't have any tents or other protection. Eddie told me that real men wrestled the bears into submission."
Drakken rolled his eyes. He glanced at Shego. "I'm rolling my eyes right now... So anyway...the next day Eddie went for a ride while I had no food. I had already decided the trip was worthless and was getting ready to leave. But then Eddie came back and said the cute girls from the other camp site were in the lake...s-skinny dipping. And he hauled me up onto the back of his bike before I could say no, and we drove to the lake. Eddie..." Drakken sighed in disdain, "didn't waste any time. He took his clothes off and stepped out of trees in full view of the world... He has a very overrated opinion of his body, if you want to know. I was so mad at him that I...nyeheh...I pulled out one of the fuses on his bike and tossed it away into the forest. It only took a second, he didn't notice. But then he had turned around and grabbed me and...started pulling my clothes off too. Please...don't picture that, I looked awful before college.
"So Eddie pushed me out of the trees with him to join the girls... I think he had been drinking that morning too... I kept trying to hide behind trees, and the girls saw us and...after they'd hidden themselves in the water they started laughing. Eddie tried to play it off... Tried to make jokes about how good he looked... He wouldn't let me go, so I finally ran down into the water to hide. Eddie stood up on a large rock and started flexing, and posing. The girls kept laughing and Eddie finally got in and approached them. He was actually able to strike up a conversation. But when he tried touching one of them they got into a splash fight. Two of the girls ran off, but the others stayed... One of them even apologized to Eddie for the splashing, which I thought was completely absurd... And it turns out— Ah...I won't get ahead of myself.
"Anyway, Eddie is talking to them and then he mentions me... He said that between the two of us we could...we could satisfy all of them. I have never wanted to kill my cousin more than that moment..." Drakken grumbled. "And one of the girls said that wouldn't be a problem, that we'd already given them enough entertainment. They said if we came near them again they would call the police. And then they got out of the water and left. Eddie tried begging...and cat-calling them... I was too embarrassed to even look. And after they left I ran back up to where the bike was parked. Do you remember...I said two of the girls had run away before? They stole our clothes. The others were just distracting us. They stole my clothes and I hadn't even done anything! But..." Drakken sighed, "remember I had pulled out a fuse and thrown it away? We couldn't find it. We searched for over an hour. So we had to walk...back...to the camp grounds. Naked. Eddie yelled at me the whole time for how uncool it was for me to sabotage his bike, and I yelled at him for forcing me to join in on all of his stupid ideas... We've never gotten along as well after that."
Drakken sank back against the rock with another sigh as he finished the story. The memory wasn't nearly as amusing as he'd remembered.
"I'm sorry, that...probably wasn't a very good story after all..."
He looked at Shego's still face. He felt her pulse again and found it a bit slower. He wondered if that meant she was relaxing...or dying.

My Drakken/Shego Fanfics Masterpost
It has come to my attention that I have written...a lot of Drakgo fics.  So I thought I'd make this post to try to help.
Fics are listed alphabetically in the categories I've given them, with sequels below them for ease.
I’ve tried to give a small description and category for each fic.
Links given to each fic are the FanFiction.net link.  However, if you prefer to read on ArchiveOfOurOwn.org, you can click the following to find my KP/Drakgo fics there.
I feel I am terrible at describing my own fics without giving anything away, so do click links and read the actual summaries and author’s notes on the site to give you better context.
Be aware, many fics may have adult themes or mentions of adult themes.  I would describe my NSFW content as similar to modern sitcoms or TV dramas.  If you’ve seen Titanic, I’d say it’s slightly more than that.
Some of these fics are headcanon, many are not, and some I’m going to later retcon to become headcanon...  That said, don’t hurt yourself looking for any continuity.  I apologize... My thoughts are one big jumble and I want to explore every possibility within Drakgo~  Someday I will go through and mark which fics are headcanon... Today is not that day.
***If you are reading this post from a reblog, check my page to see if the post has been updated, as I intend to continue publishing more and more Drakgo fics!  I’ll list dates updated as I go along.
ORIGINAL POST:  5/21/2022 UPDATED: 6/11/2022 - new fic, and added word counts and a few headcanon indications. UPDATED: 7/22/2022 - four new fics! Updated: 7/24/2022 - new fic! Updated:  6/16/2023 - new fic!  oh snap it’s been way too long... Updated 9/18/2023 - new fic, a WIP this time!

Anthologies:
The Little Ones - very short one-shots that I'm posting in a collection so I don't have dozens of fics that are less than 2,000 words.  A few over 2K have snuck in, which is my error, but I’m not migrating them out.  Most of these shorts are unrelated, but there are some that became part of a continuing story, and others that are mini-sequels to other longer fics and part of my headcanon.  A little bit of something for everyone in this collection!  Masterpost of just these fics is here!
The Watermelon Saga - a small series of fics contained in this collection, which I’ve made a separate post about for ease.  (fluff/romance/nsfw/humor/family/headcanon)

What do you think of the age difference between Shego and Drakken? Can they have a real relationship?
your question is a little vague, but based on evidence in the show which i'm too tired to get into, i firmly believe that shego is in her mid-late twenties at the start of the series, and drakken his early forties. i personally headcanon their age gap as about fourteen years. i've previously written on the topic of pinpointing their ages near to exact, so if you're interested, send another ask or a PM and i'll get into it.
on the topic of age gaps in relationships, well... i've personally been deeply attracted to someone nineteen years my senior, but due to the age gap the pair of us chose to be friends only. we were in very different places in life anyway, it probably wouldn't have worked. i know another couple who have been each other's one and only all their lives, and he's fifteen years older than her. they're great together. it doesn't always work this way... i knew a couple where the woman was only nine years older, but she ended up more a mother to her husband and he never quite stepped up into an equal role in the relationship. i could give other examples of couples i know but eh, you asked about shego and drakken.
for me personally, yes i think there's a clear age gap. and i don't think it will hinder them at all. clearly, the depth of their association goes beyond age. the things they have in common, the way they relate to one another... in my experience, the older folks get, and the...closer in relatable life experiences people are...the less important age becomes. it's like...once you get the street smarts, the life experience to know how to relate to people, it's easier in general and age kind of vanishes. it's the same thing that allows a person to have lunch with a coworker twenty years older or younger than them and still have plenty to discuss, if they've had enough relatable life experiences. the same way you can have major age gaps in friendship, it can work for romantic association too.
shego and drakken have been through it all together, have plenty relatable experiences they can talk about, even experiences prior to their getting together... conversations about topics which may deepen the relationship... yes i think there's a big age gap, and i don't think it'll be any issue for them.
as a fanfic writer, i find it a unique and interesting challenge since there's a lot more to be potentially explored when you have an age gap, versus not having one.

New Heights (Drakgo fic #150!!!)
A/N: This...is my 150th Drakgo fic, AND...today, publication day, is my birthday. (My 150th Kim Possible fic overall is A Knotty Situation for anyone curious, and it's hilarious; this new one is KP fic 153 overall.)
I honestly never expected to write for this fandom at all, let alone write so much. Thank you to those who have supported me from the beginning, both those still in the fandom and those who are enjoying other things now. I cherish you all.
An extremely special thanks to everyone who has ever drawn fan art for me. That's a special honor that I treasure deeply.
And now, on to the story... Evil date nights for Drakken and Shego are...unique. Hope you enjoy.
Read on:  FFn    AO3
-----------------------------
New Heights
Despite the tight seal on the dome of the hover-car, Shego could feel the ominous chill of the air up higher in the atmosphere than she could recall having ever flown before in such a small craft. She couldn't help herself but to look down into the dark, the Earth below too distant to be seen, and layers of clouds so far they appeared as puddle-like lakes hovering somewhere above the planet's surface.
"Doc... Are you sure this is worth it?"
She hoped he couldn't hear the anxiety in her words, but, for how often Murphy's Law seemed to follow them around, she couldn't help but voice her caution. Especially when looking back up was just as frightening as looking down. It was a sea of inky blue emptiness in all directions, distant stars revealing themselves as pinpricks of light twinkling through the vast curtain. Perhaps, if the more familiar glow of civilization was visible below she would have felt more at ease. But Drakken had insisted on flying far out over some rural state, to a place with minimal light pollution.
"You won't be sorry, Shego. These cold plasma phenomena are like nothing you've ever seen. And if we're lucky, we'll see multiple types of transient luminous events."
Shego blinked across the seat at Drakken, the starlight reflecting in his eyes and his giddy grin.
"Come again?"
"There could be various sorts of transient luminous events. Of course, the stratosphere isn't necessarily the best place to view all varieties, but for these specific ones the conditions are perfect. Oh, I hope the dash cam is working... Did you charge the battery before we left?"
Shego blinked and shook her head, both in confusion and marveling at Drakken's perfect rattling off of the complicated words.
"Yeah... Yeah," she answered, still a bit stupefied as he continued to ramble about short-lived electrical-breakdown phenomena in combinations of words she didn't realize he was capable of and didn't fully understand herself. Meanwhile he was using a remote control to adjust the angle of their camera, aiming it upwards in the sky. Below them in the lake-like clouds, a brief flash of lightning illuminating the irregular shapes proved that the world still in fact existed below them.
"...And of course, there is always the possibility of elves and ghosts, but they are less common."
Shego tuned back in as his science talk switched suddenly to the fanciful.
"What? You mean like...like...?"
"We might be able to see a troll as well. There really isn't a chance for pixies and gnomes, but from here we could definitely see—"
"Doc, you've totally lost me."
The excitement in Drakken's eyes didn't wane, and he merely lifted a finger in a gesture for patience as another distant flash below heralded a building storm. She wanted to question again the safety of flying above what would be a turbulent event, since that was apparently needed for whatever it was Drakken was insistent upon showing her in the upper atmosphere. But for all he was going on about, whether it be science or whimsy, none of it was making sense.
She was internally debating insisting they just leave, concerns about the dome failing, asphyxiation, and even lightning strikes (if it could reach that high), rattling her nerves. But before she could open her mouth to voice any of her objections, Drakken set his arm around her shoulders and her thoughts were arrested. Suddenly all she could see was the deep of his eyes staring down warmly into hers.
"The sprites are the most beautiful."
"Sprites?"
"I think it's a ridiculous name personally, along with the rest. But one must stay on theme, I suppose. It leaves out jets of course, they don't fit. But they are the most obvious of the TLE's after all."
Shego shook her head and moved nearer to him, her brow twisting in confusion and worry. She couldn't see below anymore, the vast blue emptiness that faded to black above overtaking her vision. It was unnerving, seeming to be suspended in nothingness, the hover-car a mere speck that somehow was still operational some 50,000 feet above the planet's surface.
Her stomach turned, and she desperately wished for what wasn't feeling at all like an evil date to be over, despite the smoldering of feelings Drakken's look had ignited in her chest. She needed further distraction.
"Tell me more about these...what are they? TLE's?"
"Which ones?"
"The uh... Whatever we're up here to see?"
Drakken held her shoulder more tightly, smiling happily.
"It's really quite simple, Shego. A large polarity change in the electric field after a lightning strike sends an abrupt negative charge into the stratosphere..."
He was going too fast, and she still couldn't keep up with his scientific chatter. Part of her wondered if he was making it all up, but the precision and rapidity with which he rattled off the complex and detailed explanation suggested otherwise.
"The imbalance from the top of the storm and the charge in the ionosphere are the ideal conditions for these TLE's," he said, as if in conclusion, but then he took another breath and continued.
Shego rested her head on his shoulder. Listening to him speak with such excitement and confidence was, she realized, gradually calming her nerves. And she couldn't help herself but to be pleased seeing him so happy. Amid their seemingly endless defeats and failures, it was rare to see him so thrilled and with absolutely nothing standing in the way of his joy. This wasn't a world domination plan that hinged upon tiny, variable details. It was just a date, which she had agreed to without hesitation, and he had promised her the show of a lifetime.
She tuned out the actual words, giving up trying to understand the science he was explaining while equally impressed that he knew so much. She fully believed of course that he was a genius; he couldn't invent and build all of the devices he did otherwise. His sudden frequent shifts into nonsense words and talk of ridiculous things like gnomes and pixies would always confuse her, but...as he talked animatedly about whatever it was he had determined was worth risking their lives for an evil date, she found herself smiling.
In truth, she loved hearing him talk. Not that she would ever let him know.
"...And the higher in altitude, the nitrogen will excite red. But it would show up blue and even perhaps purple if excited lower. Should we see any green, that of course is oxygen. And—"
"Are you sure this is safe?" she interrupted after a faint rumbling of thunder reached her ears from below.
"...It'll be worth it," Drakken said, his smile not faltering.
Shego turned her head and looked at him.
"Drakken."
Before another word could be spoken, a flash of lightning revealed Drakken's reason for bringing her up into the sky.
It was over in an instant, but it was impressed upon her mind like a photograph. A massive wash of translucent glowing red that overtook the sky like a dome but without borders—a three-dimensional presence that seemed real and non-existent all at once. Bright beads and tendrils fractured down and away from the dome like lightning, only far more delicate like the roots of a flower. At their tops they seemed attached to the dome by a cone, and at the very lowest tips of the wire-like structures that sizzled in the icy air was a faint purple glow.
Shego rose up and bumped her head on the hover-car's dome as she peered down in attempt to see the full extent of the thing, but it had vanished like a vapor, the star-studded indigo skies filling her vision once more. She had scarcely taken a breath when another of the red wonders flashed in the sky, further away but no less magnificent. And then another, and another. Each the same, and yet each unique as they came to life and then danced away before she could even fathom what they might be.
She sat down again, Drakken's arm ready to receive her, and laughter bubbled delightedly from his lips as he stared wide-eyed with boyish excitement at what had clearly been his reason for flying her up there.
"What are they?" she said, the words sounding alien as they seemed to come from some other source than her mouth.
"Sprites," Drakken said, holding her closer, the continuing flashes of red making his skin look purple when she glanced at him.
A lingering green mist appeared above the next otherworldly flash before vanishing in a seeming swirl, and Drakken let out a gasp of excitement.
"That one is a ghost! You know, they were only recently officially discovered—"
"Ghosts? Sprites? Who names these things?" Shego asked with a mild scoff, still watching in fascination as the show continued, the phenomena appearing and vanishing across the vastness of the ocean of the sky, seeming almost like animals bobbing up out of the seas to reveal a secret before hiding themselves away again.
"Hn... Scientists, I suppose," Drakken replied.
"They look more like jellyfish," Shego declared as another appeared and then blinked away, another tiny trail of purple and even blue faintly showing at the bottom of the tendrils of light with a boundless dome-like mist at the top.
"You know, Shego, you're right," Drakken said with a smile.
"Seriously, who thought sprites was a good name? They look exactly like...creepy jellyfish out of some nightmare. Jellyfish lightning."
"Ah, but it isn't lightning, Shego. It's more of a cool plasma phenomenon."
"Whatever," she said, moving nearer to him as a rumble of thunder followed a particularly bright red flash, topped again by a green ghost. She couldn't think of a better name for those, so kept her mouth closed on the matter.
They watched the display in silence for several minutes, the dancing of the strange red lights making it seem to Shego they had left the Earth for some place far more wonderful. And with Drakken's arm warming her against the invasive chill of the upper atmosphere, she found she didn't mind anymore having been brought up into the heavens. It was dangerous, risky, and beautiful—everything an evil date should be.
Drakken peered down over the side of their tiny craft through its protective dome as a rumbling of thunder lasted especially long that time, and then he smirked and hummed to himself in amusement.
"What?" Shego asked.
When he turned back toward her, his expression showed that his next words would cause her to either laugh or hit him, and she wasn't sure she wanted to hear whatever thought had entered his mind.
"You know, since we're renaming things..." he began, barely containing his mirth, "clouds are really just...fluffy water."
She stared at him as he held back his laughter, waiting for her response. Red flashed above them again and he glanced away to the skies.
"Shego, you're missing them! Shego...?"
She threw her arms around him and kissed him, as suddenly the only danger and beauty she was interested in was further opening her heart to the mad scientist who both calmed and fueled her flames.
He kissed her back, but after a moment broke away to look desperately into her eyes.
"But, Shego! The sprites!"
"Guess we'll just have to come back during the next storm," she said with a grin.
Drakken's smile returned as revelation reached his eyes, and it was but a moment before they melted into each other's arms and she gave herself up to the passion she too often held back as his lips caressed hers while around them, the lights still danced.
'Transient luminous...whatever,' her mind tried to fill in from Drakken's earlier intellectual talk, but all of it had fled in favor of memorizing the feel of his mouth upon hers and his fingers kneading her flesh. And as she glimpsed the red flashes turning his skin purple once again she couldn't help herself but to chuckle into the kiss.
That night, all she would remember was fluffy water, jellyfish lightning, and the love in his touch.

It’s time for some evil Drakgo, well, stranded and evil Drakgo.
This will stay unfinished forever because I don’t do backgrounds…and I am lazy.
