I’m just curious. Do you happen to know why there are a bunch of celebrity photos posing with those little leaf-wrapped food items? (I’ve seen them before but I don’t know what they’re called) I’m asking you because the actors-with-tamales photos I’ve seen were from your blog. If you don’t know that’s ok, have a nice day💕 (p.s. I know they’re not tamales but they seem to be tamale-adjacent in the food kingdom 🫔)
Coz they are celebrating Dragon Boat festival is also known as Duan Yang, where many eat rice dumplings (zongzi), drink realgar wine (xionghuangjiu), and race dragon boats....I guess to welcome good luck and health and ward off evil...... It happens on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month around the summer solstice.....

The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese event celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. Here are some main features of the festival:
Historical Background. The Dragon Boat Festival honors the death of Qu Yuan, a well-known Chinese poet and minister from the Warring States period. Qu Yuan drowned himself in the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. According to folklore, locals raced out in their boats to save him or retrieve his body, and this is thought to be the genesis of dragon boat races.
Key Traditions Dragon Boat Racing is the festival's most iconic activity. Teams paddle ornately adorned dragon boats to the beat of drums, competing against one another in a display of strength, speed, and synchronization.
Zongzi are pyramid-shaped glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves and typically filled with sweet or savory ingredients such Chinese red bean paste, dates, or pork. This tradition is tied to attempts to safeguard Qu Yuan's body by feeding rice dumplings to fish in the river.
People frequently hang Calamus and Mugwort on their doors to keep off evil spirits and insects. Calamus and mugwort are thought to possess cleaning and protecting effects.
Drinking Realgar Wine: Realgar wine is traditionally consumed to ward off disease and evil spirits. Realgar is a form of arsenic sulfide, and while this practice is no longer common because to its toxicity, it was once an important feature of the festival.
Tying Five-Color Silk Threads: Parents frequently wrap five-color silk threads around their children's wrists, ankles, or necks to protect them from evil spirits and diseases. These threads are typically not eliminated until a rainstorm washes them away.
Cultural Significance The Dragon Boat Festival is culturally significant, representing Qu Yuan's valor and loyalty as well as the community spirit of the dragon boat races. It also represents the ancient Chinese people's bond with nature, as well as their use of traditional rituals to protect their health and well-being.
Modern celebrations Today, the Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated not just in China, but also in other nations with large Chinese populations. It has become a time for family reunions, cultural performances, and athletic competitions. The festival was designated as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2009, underlining its global cultural significance.

I guess the question I have for the nhs is a half demon au is: what reason are we going to give for lxc to marry him after he comes back from visiting his mom? Also is he going to save wwx?
wwx did well for himself while nhs was off to live his little demon life, but he is the first person nhs visits upon returning among humans, because he's heard some concerning rumours...
On AO3
Small feet ran to the entrance of the cave, only slowing down at the very last moment and stopping just shy of actually coming in.
“Xian-gege, there’s a person at the gate,” Wen Yuan announced, careful to not actually shout.
Wei Wuxian smiled to himself, proud as always of this most excellent young boy he was helping raise, who obeyed rules much better than Wei Wuxian himself had ever done in his life.
“What sort of person?” Wei Wuxian asked, still hunched over his latest prototype. He was getting somewhere with this, he knew it. He just had to figure out how to…
“It’s an odd person,” Wen Yuan announced. “He says he’s here to see you.”
That was hardly news. Most of the visitors they'd had these last five years had come to the Burial Mounds to see Wei Wuxian. Sometimes, Lan Xichen would also come to see his brother and give them money. And in recent months, some people from the area had started coming to see Wen Qing in hopes she might cure them. But still, people mostly came for Wei Wuxian, either because they wanted to kill him, or because they wanted to join him. Either way, they were usually rejected.
“Did that man give his name?”
“He didn’t,” Wen Yuan announced, sounding indignant that anyone would be so rude. “He says you have to come see him, and then you’ll know him, and you’ll let him in. He sounded very sure.”
That intrigued Wei Wuxian enough to make him look up from his work and walk up to join Wen Yuan. A lot of people knew him, but there weren’t that many he knew, few of which would be sure to be allowed on the Burial Mounds, fewer still who would wish to be there at all. Jiang Cheng was the only person that came to mind, but he’d been around a few times in the years since Wei Wuxian had left Yunmeng Jiang, and Wen Yuan knew him well. Who else, then?
“That man, did he have any trouble walking?”
Wen Yuan shook his head. So it couldn’t be Jin Zixuan then. With his wooden leg, the climb to the gate would have been difficult anyway, and he would not have come unannounced.
“What did he look like?” Wei Wuxian asked, growing puzzled enough to consider meeting the stranger.
“He has a nice face, but it’s weird because of his eyes,” Wen Yuan said. “And he’s dressed with very good fabric, even better than Jiang-gege. And there’s a lot of teeth when he smiles.”
Without a word, Wei Wuxian started walking, with Wen Yuan following him. He didn’t like that description at all. He had hardly met him personally, but he’d heard about that boy in the Jin sect, that Xue Yang who was apparently trying to reproduce some of Wei Wuxian’s creations, with some success. He had an odd smile, Lan Xichen had said once when talking about him, so maybe…
“Oh, and there’s one more thing,” Wen Yuan said, slapping the side of his head. “I should have said first! But he has a mark on his forehead, it’s very red and looks a bit like a flame.”
Wei Wuxian froze.
“Xian-gege?”
“Go get Lan Zhan,” Wei Wuxian ordered. “Tell him there’s an emergency and I need him at the gate immediately. Wen Ning too. And tell Wen Qing to take everyone else to the hideout. No matter what, none of you are coming out until we come to get you. Go! Now!”
Frightened to see him so serious, Wen Yuan didn’t ask any question and scampered away as fast as his legs would take him. Wei Wuxian for his part hurried toward the gate after having made sure he had everything he’d need for a fight, knowing thing might turn vicious if he was right. He cursed as he walked, and hoped to be wrong about the identity of their visitor.
When he reached the gate and saw the man standing there, Wei Wuxian almost believed for a second that he’d been wrong indeed. The stranger, who had his back to the gate, was too tall, his shoulders too broad. But then, hearing that someone was approaching, the man turned to look at Wei Wuxian, and there was no mistake possible.
“Wei-xiong, it’s been a while,” Nie Huaisang said, smiling as if they were old friends who hadn’t seen each other for a few years. “You look worse than I remembered, but better than I expected.”
“Nie-xiong, it’s pretty bold of you to come here after what you’ve done,” Wei Wuxian retorted. “Couldn’t you have made it easier for everyone and stayed dead?”
Nie Huaisang's smile got wider, showing just a little more teeth than a mortal's would have. He looked better than he'd done last time Wei Wuxian had seen him. Healthier and a lot more confident. And why not? Last they'd been around each other, Nie Huaisang had been terrified someone might try to kill him, but he'd now proved just how difficult that would be.
“I would have, but some news reached me that forced me to rejoin the human world after all these years. Wei-xiong, won’t you let me in?”
“I hope you understand why I’d rather not. You have a history of slaughtering people I’d rather not see repeated.”
Nie Huaisang frowned and pinched his lips, looking almost sincerely hurt by the reminder of his past deeds.
“I’ve been told your shijie recovered,” he said in a softer tone, sounding more like the boy Wei Wuxian had studied with in Gusu. “And that Jin Zixuan too is… well, he’s alive, right? Don’t they even have a son?”
“They’re both doing as well as they can, no thanks to you.”
Again, Nie Huaisang looked wounded by the accusation. Wei Wuxian remembered how his old friend had been after the reveal of his true nature, the way he’d desperately tried to hide what he was, the terror he’d expressed in every letter they had exchanged… Still, what had been done couldn’t be changed, and Wei Wuxian hadn’t survived this long by trusting just anyone.
If anything, it was Nie Huaisang’s example who had taught him to be wary.
“Wei-xiong, you remember when we were in the Cloud Recesses together, and we made realgar wine a little before you were kicked out?” Nie Huaisang suddenly asked and though surprised by the change of topic, Wei Wuxian nodded. “All the other Nie disciples with us were quite stunned,” Nie Huaisang reminisced with a sad smile. “They’d never seen me drunk before. It’s a skill I’ve always had, though nobody at home really knew why. I can eat anything, drink anything, and never get sick… anything but realgar, which affects me badly, I’ve found since.”
Without thinking, Wei Wuxian nodded again. Realgar was used to ward off evil, and it was said to have a particularly strong effect on demons. That particular time, Nie Huaisang had only had one small sip because he’d found the smell of realgar wine unpleasant, and just that single sip had made him violently sick, and so irritable he'd bitten Jiang Cheng who'd only wanted to check on him… though of course most people would be in a bad mood after vomiting that much. At the time, none of them had thought there was anything odd with that.
Yet if he’d had more wine than that, Nie Huaisang might have died, or attacked his friends.
“It wasn’t the time of year for realgar wine,” Wei Wuxian noted, feeling himself grow more curious than angry. “So find a better excuse.”
“It wasn’t the season for it, and I didn’t notice the difference in smell,” Nie Huaisang agreed. “But the person who helped me recover from my wounds assured me that my blood was tainted by realgar, and I’ve learned since that there are ways to cover the taste, or to increase the effect. And Jin Zixun was ever so insistent on making me drink that day. Funny, when we’d never been close. Or indeed when I had been promised that he wouldn’t be there, since I didn’t much care for him.”
It was something that had always puzzled them indeed. Not just Wei Wuxian, but Lan Wangji too, and even Jin Zixuan and Jiang Yanli when they’d had a chance to speak about that. As far as everyone had known, Jin Zixun had been in hiding at that time, terrified that Wei Wuxian might try to kill him for what he’d done to Wen Ning and his family. And Jin Zixun had been quite vocal regarding what he thought should be done to Nie Huaisang, too.
Odd that he’d come to a Night Hunt where were present not only Wei Wuxian’s beloved shijie, but also the terrifying demon that terrorized everyone.
It sounded a lot braver than Jin Zixun had ever been known to be.
“It’s easy to blame a dead man,” Wei Wuxian remarked.
“And it’s easy to blame a demon,” Nie Huaisang retorted. “Especially for someone who’d have the demon’s trust. Funny also how this incident ensured that Qinghe Nie became isolated and despised, just when it was considered the one sect which might have stood against Lanling Jin’s ambitions.”
Wei Wuxian shrugged. He’d personally also profited quite a bit from this conflict between the Nies and the Jins.
It had distracted everyone from what he was doing in Yiling. By the time the Jins had emerged fully victorious from that political battle, Wei Wuxian’s presence in the Burial Mound had been secure, while the Jins had been too busy securing their new power to think of attacking him. Besides, with him no longer part of Yunmeng Jiang and thus not involved in politics, and with his actions having made it clear that he wasn’t a threat, everyone had found it easier to leave him alone. Sometimes someone would still wonder if he should be annihilated, but a few words from Lan Xichen or Jiang Cheng seemed to usually be enough to put an end to that, at least for now.
Everyone might start thinking differently if he associated with a demon though.
“Supposing I believe you,” Wei Wuxian said, and he was ready enough to believe Nie Huaisang, demon or not. “I’m not sure what I can do for you.”
“Don’t think of it as you doing something for me, Wei-xiong. Think of it as the two of us teaming up to protect our families. You see, demons gossip just as much as mortals do, and I’ve been hearing a few worrying things while living with them. There’s a reason I know your shijie has a son, you see.”
Wei Wuxian shivered, but before he could ask for details, Wen Ning and Lan Wangji arrived at last. They were both stunned to see Nie Huaisang, though Lan Wangji had to be the more shocked of the two, since he would actually recognise the young man, while Wen Ning had never met him before.
Smiling faintly, Nie Huaisang bowed elegantly to the two newcomers, as if this were but an ordinary meeting between old friends.
“Lan gongzi, I did not expect you had really come to live here!” Nie Huaisang exclaimed with something like real joy. “I suppose gossip these days carries more truth than I’d have expected.”
“Fine, I’ll bite,” Wei Wuxian said. “What have you heard about my shijie and her son?”
“Let me come in,” Nie Huaisang replied. “And then we can talk.”
It felt like a trap, and maybe it was one.
Even after having disappeared for years, Nie Huaisang knew Wei Wuxian’s weaknesses. It had been a mistake perhaps to write to him back then, to confide in him, to stay his friend when the rest of the world shunned him… but Wei Wuxian too had needed a friend after the Sunshot Campaign, and Nie Huaisang had never judged him for what he’d done, not even before his demon blood was revealed.
This was a mistake.
And yet, Wei Wuxian opened the gate.

On the Funtoy website, you can hear the members of Dragon Cavern discuss New Year’s with Peking Duck and Yuxiang.
CG 1
Dragonwell Tea: You’ve all arrived?
Peking Duck: You rarely come out to greet us.
Dragonwell Tea: Mm, I thought you would all come today.
Yuxiang: Apologies for not saying hi in advance; these drinks and desserts are a little gift~
Dragonwell Tea: No matter, they should be very happy by this.
Yuxiang: Speaking of which, where is Longfeng Stew and the others? I haven’t heard them nearby; weren’t they quite the noisy bunch before?
Dragonwell Tea: Longfeng Stew and Realgar Wine are together, Zitui Bun and the others are preparing the food.
Yuxiang: How nice, it seems that Zitui’s and I’s discussion over the history of countries from last time can continue.
Peking Duck: There’s plenty of trifling things at the end of the year-- we just happened to be free these few days and came for a visit.
Peking Duck: How have you been?
Dragonwell Tea: Everything is fine, there’s still work to do.
Peking Duck: Your place is still much much quieter and more peaceful than mine, even the children are overjoyed. *quacking ducklings*
Dragonwell Tea: Not entirely, it’s still always a little noisy here.
CG 2
Longfeng Stew: It’s just a few strands of grass, just grow some more! What’s the point in being so angry?
Realgar Wine: You still don’t know what you did wrong?
Longfeng Stew: But when I messed with your grass in the past, you weren’t like this!
Realgar Wine: ...You! Sigh, this is different.
Longfeng Stew: What’s different?
Realgar Wine: This herb is difficult to cultivate. It took me many tries before I managed to successfully grow it.
Longfeng Stew: This… is growing grass this hard… th-then I’ll help you grow more when spring comes!
Realgar Wine: Sigh… Just stay far away from them, will you.
Realgar Wine: Also, I was going to use it to make medicine. If I didn’t have this herb, then all of my previous efforts would be wasted...Whatever, there’s no use in telling you anyways.
Longfeng Stew: Medicine? Are you talking about that stinky murky bowl in the room?
Realgar Wine: I haven’t finished it, that’s all.
Longfeng Stew: Ah ha ha-- I thought it was some failed experimental medicine... it was just too smelly, so before I went to sleep I just threw it away!
Realgar Wine: What… LONG-FENG STEW--!
CG 3
Peking Duck: Alright, I take back what I just said.
Yuxiang: New Year’s is only nice when there’s a little ruckus around.
Yuxiang: But judging by his appearance, Longfeng Stew messed up big this time.
Peking Duck: Oh? I see these two aren’t behaving much different from what they’re usually like.
Yuxiang: I haven’t seen Realgar Wine like this before. Should we intervene?
Dragonwell Tea: That won’t be necessary. *sips wine*
Dragonwell Tea: Mm… Realgar Wine, he isn’t really angry.
Yuxiang: ...You two sure are calm. Not only that, you’ve both begun to sing the same tune.
Peking Duck: *laughs* Well, even if they get noisy, it’s not my responsibility.
Dragonwell Tea: …... It won’t come to that.
Yuxiang: Both of you wouldn’t even bat an eye if the sky came crashing down, would you.
CG 4
Longfeng Stew: I- I really didn’t mean it this time! Next time I won’t touch it anymore! Dragonwell? Eh, why are you all here?
Realgar Wine: There’s guests over? Excuse me.
Yuxiang: No need to be so polite. We’ve already become well acquainted friends.
Longfeng Stew: Obviously! Ey, Peking Duck what kind of wine did you bring over this time? I thought last time’s wine was fantastic, I wanted to ask you for a few more pots!
Peking Duck: Okay, next time I’ll bring more.
Longfeng Stew: Wha-- it smells so delicious-- what are you guys eating? I want some too…
Realgar Wine: …… Longfeng Stew!
Yuxiang: Hehe, how about you resolve that problem of yours before you come over here?~
Longfeng Stew: Hahaha… then, then I’ll go help Dahongpao in the back!
Realgar Wine: You’ll just add more trouble……hey, watch out!
Longfeng Stew: Geh!
Realgar Wine: Sigh…... Always such reckless.
CG 5
Longfeng Stew: Sss-- so cold!
Realgar Wine: You would know, there’s already this much snow on the ground.
Longfeng Stew: If it weren’t for how ruthless you were, even chasing me for so long, I wouldn’t have ...Eh! How did they climb onto my head?
Realgar Wine: I’m not blaming you for picking that blade of medicinal herb, it's just that I’ve already told you many times before; that herb has poisons on it, and you shouldn’t touch it as you like.
Realgar Wine: You’re so rash, if you’re not careful... ...
Longfeng Stew: I… … I will be more careful in the future… Plus, aren’t I being well-behaved right now… Agh! don’t pull my hair!
Realgar Wine: Heh, it’s time you learned a lesson.
Longfeng Stew: Hey wait-- Why are you all just watching me! Is anyone going to help me, I can’t seem to pull out my hand anymore!
Dragonwell Tea: Relax a bit, the food should be done soon.
Peking Duck: Looks like we can happily have our new year now. How fortunate that I brought enough wine.
Yuxiang: Hasn’t this already been quite pleasant so far?

DISCLAIMER: Before I begin I would like to establish that NOBODY has to agree with or even like my Lore, especially since this particular post is on a Canon Character. These are purely my headcanons and my thoughts on this character, I am not about to force these ideas/headcanons onto anyone.
“I hope my poison will protect you and be of use to you, and never harm...”
For a Food Soul, a contract is a deeply important bond - regardless if their Master Attendant has their best interests at heart or not. The contract binds them by Soul to their Master, and is therefore a complex and many layered thing that can have an utterly catastrophic effect on the Food Soul should it be severed.  Realgar Wine’s Master Attendant treated him cruelly, poorly, and used him for his alchemy skills, but even after all of that, I believe that the severing of their contract still would’ve had a profound effect on Realgar. Having the bond about his soul severed so violently still shook him up, made him lose control of his soul power, and ultimately made him fall into unconsciousness. This trauma would have a profound effect on both him and the Food Souls he would then come into contact with.
Due to the minerals used to make the wine mixing with realgar itself, the resulting drink contains the potent poison: Arsenic.
Because of this, the Realgar line of Food Souls are inherently poisonous, their blood burns, the poison’s properties leaks through in their sweat, making any contact with them lethal in the worst case scenario, but since their namesake’s most well known use is actually that of a medicine, they usually spend most of their time in close proximity to humans. Due to this, the majority of the line are able to keep the poison that runs through their bodies and lives on their skin at bay. After all, Food Souls are designed to have humanity’s best interests at heart, which leads me to believe that though Realgar Wine Food Souls are perfectly capable of poisoning a human, they’re also perfectly capable of controlling when and where they use that hidden, sinister power.
Unfortunately for the Realgar Wine we see in canon however, I believe that the severance of his contract with his Master Attendant was so sudden and traumatic to him, that it completely messed up that failsafe. After that severance, and once his time at Dragon Cavern began, the horrible realisation that he could no longer control when and where that poison would flare up quickly made itself known. Even at the slightest inconvenience he would soon find himself in a room full of toxic, yellow fumes of his own making, fumes that would choke whoever else was there with him. This panic would then of course lead to the toxins secreting themselves out of his skin, making him incredibly dangerous to touch - even to his fellow Food Souls. The tips of his fingers and the veins running through his wrists would blacken and his skin would hiss and crack as the keratosis from the arsenic began to kick in.
Soon it was clear to him; that his ability to control this deadly force had vanished along with the contract binding him to his first Master Attendant.
Fortunately for this Realgar Wine, he was among Food Souls when this happened. Had Longfeng/D&P not taken him back to Dragon Cavern, I’m sure that this loss of control on Realgar’s part would’ve resulted in quite a few human casualties. Nowadays I believe that this poison is directly linked to Realgar Wine’s mental state, which was why - after essentially being dragged out of a burning Kingdom and up to Dragon Cavern - that poison flared up so extremely; he was completely shaken up! But as we see in his skin event, he’s moved on and grown so much from his time with his Master Attendant, the whole event is about that! So I really do think that though there’s still the threat of a resurgence, Realgar is able to placate himself enough for the poison to lay dormant.
However, as stated in his little biography: “He doesn’t like coming into contact with too many people.” And I think I know another big reason as to why.
It’s shown in canon that he and Longfeng/D&P are close, Longfeng was the one who brought him to Dragon Cavern after all, but I think that closeness had a rather nasty set of consequences, which makes it fortunate that Longfeng is a guy who doesn’t hold grudges for very long. One type of arsenic poisoning results in the skin suffering from something called keratosis - which I mentioned above - a condition that messes up the skin’s pigmentation, and literally causes it to start growing keratin. If you’ve ever seen the horns of an Impala, those are coated with keratin.
I won’t link in any images, partly because I can’t and also because it’s nasty stuff, but as you can imagine, arsenic keratosis shows itself in darkened, hardened patches on the skin, kind of like the skin is starting to grow its own armour.
Wait.. Hold on, where have we seen that kind of thing again?
Tumblr media
Oh.
My theory? Realgar accidentally poisoned Longfeng, possibly on their way to Dragon Cavern (maybe Longfeng carried him? Who knows.) But because they’re Food Souls (and I’ll be honest, because I like my artistic license) the spread of this black keratin was insanely fast, and I’ll bet that either Dragonwell Tea/Longjing Tea or Zitui Bun had to stop it before it spread throughout the whole of Longfeng’s body, which is why that black coating along his arm looks like it was stopped dead in its tracks. Because it was.
But of course, because this is Longfeng we’re talking about, he actually found use for this new, armoured arm. An Impala’s horns are tough after all, and since he’s a Strength Soul, he probably finds quite a lot of use for it, despite Realgar feeling genuinely horrible about the whole affair. But regardless of this, the two are still close, each acting as part of the other’s growth in more ways than one.
In conclusion: Canon Realgar Wine is someone who has stared into Hell but has walked back out of it. To this day he still wrestles with the knowledge that his very existence can make people sick, a worry that’s clearly shown throughout his voice lines and his biography, but he is still growing, which is why I liked his skin event so much. I’m a complete sucker for redemption stories, but I’m also a complete sucker for figuring out just how lethal a Food Soul with a namesake like realgar wine can be.
God. I hope this all made sense. if you’re still reading; thank you so much! And I have to thank my friends in my lore server for talking to me about this! I seriously wouldn’t be able to think up and refine a lot of this lore without you all.

Legend of the White Snake - Episode 19
Tumblr media
So. I was half way through the episode when my computer decided it was the perfect time to reboot. Again! Yep, I think it’s sulking because I now have a desk computer and uses it a little more often. So pardon me if the recap of the first half of the episode is lacking, I have already seen it and have to rewrite what I did. I should save drafts way more often hahaha. Saving just now. Just in case.
Xiao Qing is trying to keep herself cool by swimming in West Lake. Then Fahai comes and traps her in her bowl. But he grows a flower so she would be feeling a little less the heat. Can Xiao Qing build a harem and have many lovers? Am I weird to ship her with almost every body?
Xu Xian comes back home with a bottle of alcohol for him to drink with Suzhen for the Duanwu festival. So Ruyi asks Xu Xian if he added realgar inside of it, as it tradition, but he didn’t so she adds it in for him. So Suzhen won’t have choice but to reveal her true form. She’s so mean. Suzhen is still feeling unwell because of the heat and it worries Xu Xian. He came back earlier to spend time with his wife and pours wine for her. She tries to not drink it, but in the end she can’t really find a reason good enough to refuse. So she ends up drinking it anyways.
Fahai finally releases Xiao Qing and she asks him why would he help her. Then he just ignores her. Then, due to the gift his master left for him, he realizes that Xiao Qing is half immortal and warns her that as soon as she hurts people, he won’t show mercy even if she’s half immortal. Xiao Qing is of course asking for a duel someday later and finally realizes he called her half-immortal and asks him about it, but he just leaves, so she can only run after him.
Back home, Suzhen is experiencing problems to maintain her human form and because she’s wearing the buddhist beads Ruyi gave her, she can’t use her spiritual energy. So she asks Xu Xian to go out. It takes her a lot to make him go out. Why won’t she just  take off that bracelet? Gosh. It’s so simple, why does she not know those things when she was reluctant even to accept it as a gift... Outside, Xu Xian is getting really worried about his wife. Then Ruyi comes in yelling that a snake went inside the room where Suzhen is. Which is bad because Suzhen is transforming back. A panicked Xu Xian breaks the door only to see a huge white snake inside the house. He thinks it ate his wife and dies out of the shock ): Well at first I wasn’t sure if he died or just fainted, but he literally dies on the spot.
When Ruyi comes back with Jiaorong, it’s only to see a big white snake fleeing away and a dead Xu Xian. I hope Ruyi is happy now. She killed Xu Xian with her harmful ways.
Fahai runs into Xu Xian’s house to see he’s dead and believes that the White Snake killed Xu Xian. Suzhen then comes back, so sad because she knows she’s the one who hurt Xu Xian and then big sis asks her how come she escaped by herself, leaving Xu Xian alone. Then as he sees her and his staff doesn’t react, Fahai is doubting again. He blamed her but she’s not the culprit? Is it true? Suzhen blames Ruyi for giving her the buddhist beads and Fahai prevents her from hurting Ruyi. But what actually stops her is that she sees Xu Xian’s soul trying to leave his body. She asks Li Gongfu to take Jiaorong and Ruyi to rest, she will stay by Xu Xian’s side. Then she begs Fahai to save Xu Xian, she’s willing to pay any price. But Fahai has no way to save him.
Suzhen traps herself into pain and sadness over the death of her husband. She’s desperate to find a way to bring him back to life. Then the rest of the family comes to take Xu Xian’s corpse. Xiao Qing warns them that Suzhen won’t allow it and indeed she doesn’t. Big sis is a little unhappy with her and blames her for not having been by Xu Xian’s side when he was attacked by the snake.
Suzhen tries to convince them that there’s still a way to save him, that he’s not dead. She says he’s not dead and takes big sis in to show her. How dare that Ruyi follow and come in? Doesn’t she feel guilty for what happened to Xu Xian? And she even has the nerves to tell Suzhen that if she really likes Xu Xian, she should let him go? WHAT? Did I hear her say that? That little. Okay. Now I hate you. You pretend that you have nothing to do with this? You should be a mess and cursing your own stupidity.
And now big sis accusing her again of running away without him when the snake came. Poor Suzhen. Jiaorong orders to take Xu Xian’s corpse and says that Suzhen is crazy thinking she can still revive him. But Suzhen begs her to have three more days. In that span of time, she can revive him. Jiaorong agrees but if after that he hasn’t been saved, she shouldn’t come back. Poor Suzhen. Now the in laws dislike her. Get that awful Ruyi out of that room. She has no right to stay when she harmed that much Xu Xian.
Xiao Qing is mad at Suzhen for promising to save Xu Xian, but she says she knows a way and begs her to go get Fahai for her as she needs his help. Even though at first he’s not really willing to help, he ends up agreeing. She needs him to help Xiao Qing looking on the lamp, that fire is going to prevent Xu Xian’s soul to disperse. She’s herself planning to go to Kunlun mountains and get an herb to save him. Xiao Qing tries to prevent her from doing so, because it’s a place for immortals where demons shouldn’t go, but Suzhen is determined. She’s rather die than not try. Xiao Qing wants to go with her, but Suzhen convinces her to stay and keep an eye on Xu Xian and her core because in this world, the only person she can trust now is Xiao Qing. Suzhen really knows how to get Xiao Qing’s feelings.
JIN SONG!!!!!
Okay, out of that random moment of happiness. He’s like happy to learn that Xu Xian died. Well I guess anybody would like to see their rival out of the way and it was kind of bound to happen. Suzhen is clearly going to live longer than Xu Xian. I can’t dislike him for being happy. Even though my heart screams for that poor Xu Xian. And he’s going to stop her. Oh god. Jin Ling. Poor little thing.
Wow. The set of the Kunlun mountains is just sooooo beautiful. At first, when Suzhen sees Jin Song, she’s kind of happy. I think she misses him a little, but as soon as she understands he’s here to try to convince her to stop, she gets sad again and asks him to mind his own business. As they are about to fight each other, they get distracted by something and Suzhen takes that opportunity to flee.
Back home, because Xu Xian’s body isn’t degrading, Fahai has to repulse evil spirits. She needs to calm down to be able to help him take care of the body.
The spirit that try to come in was actually Wang Daoling. He couldn’t get any information and asks Ruyi to distract at night the monk so he can fight with Xiao Qing. Because he’s no match for Fahai. Gosh. That Ruyi. She’s going to kill Xu Xian twice. And she doesn’t even... what? She has no guilt for what she’s done? She blames it on Suzhen. That girl has mental issues. Please somebody take her away.
Suzhen gets discovered by one of the disciple of the master of Kunlun mountains and fights with him to get the medicine. However, without her core, she’s no match for it and if it wasn’t for Jin Song, she would have died. He takes her away and is so worried when she doesn’t wake up. He tries again to convince her to go back with him to Emei, but she won’t give up and she’s willing to sacrifice herself to save Xu Xian. Then he tells her he can save Xu Xian. At first she doesn’t believe him, but he insists. He gives him the opportunity to go in the past 5 times, it’s super dangerous though.
She then uses that little disciple’s appearance to trick the other disciple only to learn that the master took all the magical herbs away to make it a present for some immortal. She follows to there and her way of getting in is to use the younger disciple’s appearance. One of the guards is doubting, but the other convinces him it’s all fine so she gets in without trouble. For now. More obstacles are waiting for her.

i. The Return Of Spring
Long Feng Stew brought Realgar Wine back to that lake side courtyard. Poised unmoved for the longest time beside the lake, the courtyard was still as quiet and peaceful as ever.
Realgar Wine looked somewhat hesitant as he stood at the gate of the courtyard. Even after dwelling for a long time he could not take a step forward and walk inside.
Long Feng Stew internally let out a sigh seeing Realgar Wine in his doubtful state. He extended his arm to push Realgar Wine into the courtyard.
“Relax, they’re all great people.”
His feet tripped on the door frame, one of which staggered. As he was about to fall, Zitui Bun just so happened to push the door open and come out from the house. The willow branch in his hand was unexpectedly long, it gently propped up Realgar Wine who had almost fallen down.
Just when Zitui Bun was confused as to why Realgar Wine had appeared here, Long Feng Stew reached out his arm to grab Realgar Wine’s back collar and pulled him upright. He roughly patted Realgar Wine’s shoulder and then introduced him to Zitui Bun.
“He’s Realgar Wine, he’s a… partaker of that cult. Like us, he’s got nowhere else to go so I brought him back here.”
Zitui Bun nodded continuously as he listened to Long Feng Stew’s explanation. He walked to Realgar Wine’s front, bringing along his ever present gentle and soft smile.
“Come then, I’ll bring you to find a room to settle down.”
After suffering through the previous harsh treatments from before, Realgar Wine was somewhat spoiled in his friendship with Zitui Bun. He turned to look at Long Feng Stew, it’s after he nodded did Realgar Wine contently left with Zitui Bun.
Faced with an empty courtyard, Long Feng Stew squinted his eyes and rubbed at his chin to think.
That fellow Dragon Beard Candy mostly hides inside the house reading those hard to understand books, and Dragon Well Tea… He’s probably hiding in his cave at the bottom of the lake again!
Every time Long Feng Stew thinks about the exasperated look on that guy’s face whenever he drags the guy out from the bottom of the lake, the corner of his lips could not help but curl up lightly.
Walking at a brisk and lively pace, Long Feng Stew came strolling to the lakeside. Sucking in a deep breath, and with both his hands blocking the side of his mouth, he loudly yelled at the surface of the peaceful and quiet lake.
“Dragon Well!!!!!! Come out for a drink!!!!! I’m back!!!!!!!”
The pair of couple who were being lovey dovey at the lakeside looked to Long Feng Stew with a face full of consternation. He carelessly smiled at them, and then turned back to look at the centre of the lake, where Dragon Well’s cave is located.
Small waves appeared on that undisturbed lake surface because of the breeze that had swayed over. However, quietness was restored again not long after that.
Long Feng Stew furrowed his eyebrows and then yelled loudly a few more times, the couple just covered their ears and fled. Long Feng squinted his eyes as he watched the still calm and quiet surface of the lake.
“Dragon Well, hey Dragon Well. If you still won’t come out, don’t blame me for being rude.”
Long Feng Stew muttered as he ducked down his head searching around the gravel at the lakeside. He found a rock that was as big as one’s head, and then he brutally flung it into the centre of the lake.
Splash---
After the rock was dropped into the water, the ripples that had appeared on the water surface did not settle down as time passes.  The lake water slowly parted towards two sides, the silhouette of a person gradually appeared from the centre of the lake. He trod on the steps created from lake water and took steps after steps to Long Feng Stew, his face full of exasperation.
“Long Feng Stew. I’ve told you this many times before, do not throw any rocks towards my cave, especially one as big as that.”
“Hehe, if I don’t do it like that, how would I get you to come up! I brought back some good wine this time! I even brought back a companion to introduce to you guys! Just in time for everyone to come drink and moon watch together later in the evening!”
“…Just for this?”
“How can you say ‘just for this’? Moon watching and drinking with your fellow brothers is an absolute delight! How can you not show up?!”
“…”
“Let’s go, let’s go!”
