Something a little more personal.
Yes that is me on the right!
Over LOCKDOWN I had put on a lot of weight and 7/8 months ago I decided to lose the weight and actually do it this time round rather than giving up. And I've managed to shed the weight.
And then some!
I now have the CONFIDENCE I had such a long time ago again!
I am super proud of myself it's not been an easy road.
I don't have a perfect body and never will do.
I will continue to push on and keep the weight off!!

Isobel Thorm, icon, godsend, hero, absolute titan, determined to carry the hurt/comfort genre on her STR 12 shoulders. I adore her.
Of course, the catch is that she herself has also Been Through The Horrors but chooses not to acknowledge this in favour of adamantly insisting on being the caretaker (which she is obviously very good at, like... professionally, as a cleric and healer).
And even more than that, caretaker to a person who is a big nigh-unkillable (but very significantly not, as Isobel herself points out, unharmable!) radiant wall of muscle and holy fury so used to being a champion and protector herself, extremely keen to dismiss her own issues as a bit of "paladin's fatigue" and "flights of fancy" and who is on so many levels, some very fundamental to her being, tied into being A Sword.
I guess my point is... fic writer comrades-in-arms, this is what we call a goldmine.

Idk how me, a broad and chubby woman from a long line of broad and chubby women, and my husband, an average-height man from long lines of very tiny women and very average men, managed to produce a child so exceptionally tall, long, & lean that she can't wear store-bought clothes anymore without alteration. Yet here I am, dusting off a sewing machine I barely know how to operate....
#personal#this kid put on 2 inches in less than 3 months y'all#which is about how much she's supposed to grow in a YEAR at this age#while also somehow gaining no weight#i mean literally NONE#she even dropped an ounce overall#so no it wasn't my imagination that all her pants suddenly became too short#while simultaneously getting looser around the waist#and yes we're on top of the weight thing; she has a whole med team helping us out#it's cuz we finally found one of her EOE triggers so now she's eating more diversely and the inflammation is reducing#so her body is getting excited to go for all that growth it was putting off due to lack of nutrients and calories#same thing happened as an infant when she started PPIs for the first time#on my mama's grave she went from 50th percentile to 90th in less than a month#she also has a documented history of massive growth spurts every time her dosage gets upped to match her current size#the lack of weight gain is a bit worrisome tho so we're working on upping her calories as much as possible#but anyway#if anyone has tutorials on Learning To Make Kids Clothes for complete noobs let me know#cuz clothes cost too much for how much they DON'T fit her

#going through thr perimenopause tag on here is so validating#i still can't believe my doctor said i was too young to be experiencing it#i was very nearly 38#and then 3 months before my birthday i started the period that hasn't stopped#which isn't 100% true#but since feb 1st I've maybe not been on my period for a total of 2.5 weeks#and even on the days where i don't bleed much#im still dropping clots in sizes I can't believe are coming out of my body#especially so regularly#thankfully the nearly nonstop bleeding was concerning enough to get me other appointments to figure out what up with my uterus#one next week & another the week after#im just tired of being tired#and tired of being uncomfortable#and tired of thinking/talking about it but it has taken over my whole life!!!!#if it isn't perimenopause I'll eat my fucking hat

Astarion was fairly certain he could trust Karlach not to kill him, less so Wyll. The Blade of Frontiers was a wildcard — but he had been willing to see reason before.
The cleric was friendlier towards him than she used to be, but given her profession he doubted their half-truce would survive the revelation that he was undead. That little, itty-bitty secret of hers — the little fact only he knew — could be his saving grace. People do not spend decades pretending to be someone they are not without a reason. If he leveraged that, she might let him stay without a fight.
If it did come to blows, however, that could work in his favor. Her little tumble into the Underdark had left her in no state to fight. Killing her would be easy, and once she was dead? Well, that little illusion of hers would break and her secret exposed. If he played his cards right, he might be able to convince the others to follow him instead — or at least let him live.
