would he have just savored the moment until Wukong woke up with that same reaction or would Wukong had seen the fond look on his face and maybe not react so badly?

Or would Macaque have disappeared in a panicked uncertainty kinda like the dream timeline and Wukong would have woken up to nobody and have the same reaction as the dream timeline (or maybe worse? like— “I FUCKED UP OH NO” lmao)

honestly not sure if they'd be able to recover from it in that version because before it was only a "light" misunderstanding, but now macaque was literally pushed away, i doubt he could see it as anything else than wukong wanting nothing to do with him in that way

There an announcement that a different draft of JTTW with some extra bits has been found, Tang and MK are freaking out over it, SWK is just there roiling his eyes like

At least until Macaque attacked them... then well... hopelessly in love Wukong is almost as bad as super sad Wukong... he didn’t really talk about it until he got drunk and then he talked... a lot....

....And all of that all the confessions and speeches and apologises are all in this version of the book...and SWK is determined to make sure NO ONE EVER SEES IT.

Cue SWK using everything he can to steal the book (Problem: All the demons heard about it and think it has information about some of the great monks power or about some powerful artifact and are all also trying to steal it)

as soon as ne zha said the words "wukong" and "revenge" red son pulled out his celestial spice collection and gave a detailed explanation on how much they hurt and in which way

they ended up putting a little bit of everything in the bubbles

Personally, I think Wukong pouted like a baby for a solid two hours after the prank and gave everyone the silent treatment.

Like, Nezha, how could you! Recruiting Red Son into your schemes! And Mei recorded it and sent it to Macaque- who won’t stop teasing him by spamming him with texts making fun of him! At least his successor got him a couple cookies after the prank and would never betray him like those guys did! (flashback to the time MK betrayed him by helping Macaque stack stuff on top of him while he was sleeping)

oh yea he was definitely salty after that lmao

just not traumatised-

but tbf he had it coming after stealing who knows how many liters of very valuable wine and chugging it in one night

MK has his own way of pranking 😌 plus, i think he'd feel bad since he also got some of that stolen wine

I don't really enjoy the prank nezha and redson did on wukong

It also unfair that they only target wukong and ignore macaque part in stealing the wine.

Seeing that wukong has trauma around eating hot things,like for one melt copper and iron pillars,I wouldn't trust Mei and redson and nezha after that,so should wukong.

Because really how can you trust those guys after that,especially with food,he shouldn't trust them with food,they give him.

(please don't read this in a mean way, i have trouble making stuff sound not passive aggressive sometimes- i mean all of this /nm /gen and just wanna explain stuff!)

i understand your concerns and if you don't like it that's fair, you don't have to

but also i think the prank wasn't as bad as you portray it here

yes, the connection to his trauma could be made, but i don't think it makes a lot of sense

because for one, temperature hot and spice hot are not the same and since wukongs blood is literally molten stone/gold, i doubt he has a huge problem with temperature heat in general (at least in my version) i think the trauma from the mountain comes more from being stuck in a place, unable to move for 500 years than being fed molten copper and stuff (while that also wasn't great, it was the lesser of the evils)

but also i feel like that'd be a thing he'd just do you know i mean we're talking about sun "cuts his head off to prove a point" wukong Edit: important note though, that doing something yourself and being forced to do it are very different things. this was more to point out his very high pain tolerance

and while i think he'd have a stronger reaction to spicy hot, it doesn't affect him for that long either we actually have a scene of him reacting to extrem levels of spice, and he recovered within seconds like nothing happened

and just because wukong was the target of this revenge doesn't mean macaque gets away scot free

also the only people in on this prank where ne zha and red son; mei just enjoyed the show

wukong will be a bit wary of what these two try to feed him though.. well at least for ne zha, if red son were to give him food it was already very likely to have a SHU level of at least a million, even without revenge reasons

heya! First of all I’m so sad that the Drunken monkey comic has come to end. I felt like the ending ended on a nice sweet note and I hope we get some more later down the line.

All I can think bout is how Wukong and Mac in theses scenes fit the song Back to being friends by Sombr. Specially since Wukong still is trying to desperately do better for macaque since JTTW cause in his head probably thinks he doesn’t deserve Mac in a romantic way while Macaque probably feels like Wukong doesn’t think he deserves to with him(Wukong)

i feel like for wukong it's a bit more complicated than him just feeling like he doesn't deserve macaque though.. he has been conditioning himself to get over what they had, probably since their first fight back in the mountain, when he realized macaque wasn't coming back. at the time of the comic, he still has to accept that being more than friends is a thing that is possible now despite knowing that he wants this, there is still that voice in his head telling him it's wrong once he's figured that out he might start to question if he's even deserving of that after what he did to him
