yesterday i spent like 5 hours trying to export assets from the origins ds game(got mostly models, failed to get a lotta the general image textures from cutscenes n menus etc, its just the way the roms compressed unfortunately) but like. watching the cutscenes on youtube, they quote stuff thats from the movies script(which i own). the ds version is fairly unique from the others, but they also have references to the script, like the blob fight being set in a grocery store and victor being called dog in one of the info boxes.

and this is normal, since game adaptations for movies usually get developed while the movie is being made, being given an early copy of the script to go off(and these games decided to just barely follow the plot for some reason. like theres so much extra shit going on).

but anyway, my point here is that the script has WAY more scenes of them actually giving a shit about eachother, and the game developers still decided to paint victor as the villain of the game. like they even straight up removed the part where they work together at the end. as well as them hanging out as kids. and every other hint of them tolerating eachother.

and so here i am, up at 6am, thinking to myself 'well thats just mean ):'

Started playing a bunch of dragon games and. Omg. I love dragons (said with autism)

something i keep thinking about as i replay dark souls 1 in ng+ is how at any given point in a soulsborne game I'm going "wow i hate this area, i can't believe they put in such and such an enemy, ridiculous, What Do You Mean I Have To Climb Out Of Blightown" and I'm just low key annoyed all the time, BUT the overall lasting impression i come away with is generally "that place was super cool! i can't wait to go back someday". i really love how that is the typical from soft experience for me

dark souls 1 probably has this the most which is why it remains the best of the games for me

(castle sol is a glaring exception to this. seriously fuck that place)

This is the Aladdin AU I had going for a bit (not the Bleeding Magic one, but still adjacent to that storyline a bit lol)! I didn't have everything figured out with it, but did like the thought of him being both a missing prince AND a human turned genie and that Shak, the young princess left behind, might not realize that finding the genie lamp would also mean finding her long lost brother in one go and get her wish. She attempted to sneak out to do this and ran into Daniel and Hoagie then. She was unsuccessful then, but realized he could help her and also her help him in the process to both get what they want. In this AU, Jayce was a young prince looking for a power source to help his people, and his royal vizier, Viktor, didn't think it was wise. He brought him to the source and Jayce unwittingly fell trap to becoming a genie and getting trapped into the lamp. Viktor is blamed for his disappearance/assumed death and is killed. Camilla takes over as royal vizier, as well as most of the kingdom in absence of an old enough heir and is keen in staying in power. Lucy is her top guard. At this point in the story, it'd be similar to the live action version of the vizier doubting Jayce's legitimacy as the missing prince, but mostly wanting to get her hands on the lamp herself having learned of its power. He and Lucy had already started to fall for each other in that time and she's torn on who to have loyalty then when she's commanded to push him out of the tower tied up into the sea. He's pushed anyway and Lucy goes after him to save him, but comes to the shock of her life lol He isn't going to let her die trying to save him however, and would reveal his true form in order to do so.

i love it when people put stickers on their ds and it looks so cute... i can never because i have sticker anxiety (afraid it might look wrong and i try to peel it but the sticker is wasted now i cant put it back and oh no this is a gift from your aunt overseas you wasted it forever now she's never gonna buy you cute stickers anymore that you never put on anything)

I totally feel the same way! I get worried because I'm a bit of a collector and I wanna keep it in "mint condition" (Even though I use my DS's regularly and they are covered in scratches...)

So, it makes me cringe a bit when I see stickers on a DS, because I get sad about the fact that it's no longer "pure" or whatever. On the other hand, I've seen DS's in wayyy worse states... so maybe I need to get over myself LOL

Either way a well loved DS's >>>>>> mint condition ones IMO. What's the point in owning it if you aren't going to use it!
