When the Grimm Reaper Knocks

Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide when you’re tied to a pillar. He remembers what the sound of his own screams sound like. ‘Please…stop.’ Barely able to aspirate those words. By the end of the night, he’d no longer beg for salvation. No longer beg for them to stop. They’d done nothing wrong yet how did he end up here? All because they chose not to get involved with the current affairs. 

When Vikk was revived the first time around, he thought that being killed by an axe would be the worst of it. But oh, how wrong he was. The glee that laid bare upon Dream’s face. Punz acting as if it was a mere chore. 

Next was the end crystal. The agony of the burns. The ringing in his ears, he didn’t care how he’d die next thanks to that continuous ringing. ‘Oh wakey wakey, Vikky.’ A wheeze laugh sounding at the groan, Vik now unable to hold himself up. Hanging by the mere force of the ropes. At least they were kind enough not to rub salt in the wounds. ‘What do you want?’ He heard his torturee in crime plead. ‘Oh we don’t want anything from you.’

‘Personally.’ Punz finishing Dream’s statement. Vik and Lazar would never get to learn of the bigger picture. How Vikk’s head ached more than any bender he’d ever been on. This time, an anvil repeatedly dropped on his head. More peels of laughter at their screams. If he’d been lucid enough, Vik would’ve made a sarcastic remark of how he wasn’t a Looney Tunes character. ‘Aww, what’s the matter Vikky?’ Noticing how his stare at the pair had turned icy. Beyond angry at this point, but alas he was helpless. 

How he regretted that response by the frigid coldness that shocked his system. How he was conscious, he didn’t know. Pressure building as he tried to hold his breath. Briefly blacking out as he took his final breath.

Drowning, wishing to relish in the coolness against the phantoms burns experienced from the end crystal. Mentally adding the rope burn to the list of injuries and scars he’d have later from the forever lasting torment. Trying—and failing—not to hyperventilate. 

Too tired to yell, too tired to move. Vikk would’ve jumped back. Would’ve of kicked and punched at Punz if he wasn’t restrained by the rope. His eyes being the only thing to betray his fear when they tied fireworks to them both. ‘You should be thanking us.’

‘Yea, we’re letting you both off with a bang.’ And that was the moment Vikk loss consciousness. Not aware of his final-final death until waking up stuck in limbo. Or what he thought to be limbo. All his bones ached, pins and needles constantly running through him as he walked. Holding on the nearest wall, as he didn’t trust his legs. Walking until he found Lazar waiting for him. ‘Are we—?’

‘We’re dead Vikk.’

I'm so fed up seeing videos about "the downfall of mcyt" or "mcyt history" and then the creator only mentions DSMP and maybe a few youtubers they watched. Like... there. are. so. many. creators. who. counted. or. count. as. mcyt. Here are my thoughts.

There are so, so many who counted, and still so many who count. And yeah, DSMP is an important part of MCYT history, but it's so recent in comparison. Like. Minecraft is a cockroach, it will go through so much shit and still be alive and active. Yes, there are the names who bring or brought down the name of MCYT, but in comparison they've always been such a small part of the community. They need to be remembered for their bad actions, or illegal in some cases, but defining the community by them is not good. Nor is just using one fucking smp.

I have watched, or attempted to watch, those types of videos on the history or the downfall etc., and I always complain internally about it. THERE ARE SO MANY PROMINENT MINECRAFT CONTENT CREATORS THAT FUCKING MADE CONTENT. Some don't make Mc (minecraft) content anymore or they rarely do but it doesn't mean they shouldn't be mentioned. (Yes I know, it's an impossible task to talk about all of them, but mentioning three or four as "the og mcyters" or "the old popular mcyters" just angers me)

DSMP I would say helped with the mc resurgence, but I can say similar to SMP live and SMP earth. I count SMP live as pretty important since I think people started watching the streams and videos from that smp and when DSMP happened people treated the content the same and watched it a lot. People started watching again, then with the boom of content in the covid lockdown people watched more. It wasn't just DSMP though.

Listen if you want to do a video about how DSMP affected you or the minecraft community, sure yeah that's a video to make. If you want to do a video on a specific few ytbers who you watched and how they affected the community yeah sure that's a video to make. To say "these are the three main" that's for you. To you they were the main three. To make the video of "all of mcyt history and mc as a whole" and mention 3 people......... and then DSMP.................... I don't understand you.

I've been a MCYT fan for years and years. As a child and as an adult. From E for everyone videos to watching videos that fucked with my innocence and just exposed me to shit I shouldn't have been watching at the time. Year after year watching different types of videos and different creators. Supporting people and finding out I shouldn't, and supporting people and them being good people. To challenge videos, parkour, adventure maps, droppers, role playing, role playing, let's plays, tutorials, modded content, horror content, hide and seek. So many different types of content exist for mc, and I've been a watcher for a lot of it.

DSMP should not define MCYT. There is too many people who have made content for me to just accept that.

Hold people accountable for their actions, do not define a large community by a few people, and if you want to talk about your favorites affect in the community go right ahead but please don't call them the most popular or most important. Some people might never of heard of them. (I am thinking of the do you know this mcyt blog)

long story short: td!Dream and Punz decided to try and yoink New Members to use for the revival experiments before they officially decided to kidnap Vikk and Lazar. they failed, but it did end in Puffy distrusting those two and Ran losing their first canon life.

I just remembered an AU-type scenario that @stellocchia had about how if L'manburg(and ig the whole server by proxy) were fully developed and populated nations, then there might've been full press coverage of the server's history, and I've been thinking about how that pertains to Dream's lore video where c!Dream experimented on c!Vikk and c!Lazar.

First off, the actual lab itself, I'm gonna choose to assume that since the video seems to take place when c!Dream and his faction were at their most powerful compared to the rest of the server. c!Dream must've had the funding to actually have a team build it for him but just kept it on the down low from them on what he'd be using it for. Some obscure news outlet probably interviewed some of the builders and learned about the project, soon making a page about it in their next magazine. A few weeks later that same news outlet mysteriously filed for bankruptcy, and the builders that were originally interviewed were fired from the project.

Then, since I personally have a headcanon that some time during the experiments in the dsmp-citizen headcanon, c!Dream started collecting other people of differing species and backgrounds to see if anything changed in that aspect, I also imagine that multiple news outlets started reporting on the rapid spike in disappearances around the server. Although since I'm kind of obsessed with fictional political/social corruption, c!Dream found a way to pay off the major news outlets of the server and the smaller ones were suppressed for the most part and the news didn't really get out much. Same goes for if any one of c!Dream's prisoners managed to escape and tried to warn people about what he was doing.

Am I normal? Am I going crazy? Would I even know?

The most popular time to start watching the dsmp was between New L'Manberg and the Disc War Finale, but honestly, it's split into fairly even quarters between the main "seasons" the server was active. To those who joined after the finale streams, hi! I hope you're enjoying your stay!

Thoughts on the finale streams

I'm actually a little blown away that no one rated the finale streams a 1. Not a single person. There's nothing more I can say other than this response is overwhelmingly positive.

Is the fandom dying?

It looks like the answer is no! 82.9% of us are still moderately interested in the dsmp or more, and for almost a third of us, it's consuming every part of our brain. I don't know about you, but for me, this is actually something I really needed to see.

why do you think Dream told Sam 'all about exile'? obviously, this didn't lead to pleasant consequences for him

it's interesting, right? especially because--while exile wasn't exactly the most unknown thing at that time--it's far from the highlight of c!dream's Villain Actions in the majority of the dsmp population's collective consciousness, at this point. it's been about a month since c!tommy ran away from exile, and since then c!Dream has done Doomsday and then the staged finale. for someone like c!sam, it makes a lot more sense for c!dream to judge him as caring more about how Fran would've been taken as leverage in the disc vault, or how their old home together the community house was blown up by dream. while i have no doubts that c!sam would've interrogated c!dream about exile anyway, c!dream didn't have to tell him "all about it" in a way that had c!sam completely horrified within that first week. and frankly, no matter what cruelty c!sam might've already been up to, c!dream wasn't going to crack to the point of confessing anything he didn't want to confess over the course of like, five days in the very beginning of the prison arc.

so why does he? i'm sure he'd give you a whole host of rational reasons. c!tommy can't keep his mouth shut, obviously, so he assumed that c!tommy would spill the beans sooner or later. provoking c!sam from the getgo gives him a good idea of what to expect from the rest of his stay here, which will help him navigate the situation in an optimal way. mentioning c!tommy affects c!sam obviously, emotionally, which keeps him too off-balance to think about any logical inconsistencies in things like the staged finale and ever suspecting that c!dream wanted to be in the prison in the first place. if he's forthcoming about this Terrible Crime, then c!sam will be too focused on interrogating him about tommy to ask questions about the revive book, or vikkstar and lazar, or punz. and so on.

they're good enough reasons. valid reasons, sure. c!dream is very good at coming up with lists of rational reasons behind his actions, objective courses of actions that leave him firmly in control. c!dream also--in the process of the plan to put himself in the prison--dies at least five times, as far as we know of, and likely many more (if we are to believe that he did experiments on his own limbo pre-prison, which i think we Should, considering the circumstances, then he needed to lose his initial three lives to even test the revive book on him, not to mention however it was that he got another three lives in order to lose two in the staged finale) and starts swimming in the lava not even 24 hours into his imprisonment. just because a reason makes the most sense or is the most rational doesn't make it the real reason why c!dream does much of anything, which is something he never quite gets around to admitting to himself.

If I see one more post about why C!Dream is not a villain, I will rage-

C!Dream is a complex character with an understandable motive, and his spiralings was very realistic and I can one hundred percent see why. He is a very morally gray, albeit leaning more toward black than white, character. It wouldn’t be fair if I just label him as THE villain, because perspectives exist, and in some member’s perspective, like Purpled for example, he’s definitely not as evil as he is in, say, Tubbo’s perspective.

But that doesn’t change the fact Dream was a horrible person.

Just because he had a understandable motive, that doesn’t mean the shit that happened in Exile is justified. That doesn’t mean Doomsday is justified. That doesn’t mean all the manipulation and all the lying are justified. That doesn’t mean what he and Punz did to Vikkstar and Lazarbeam is justified. That doesn’t mean what happened in prison was justified.

Especially Exile and Vikkstar & Lazarbeam ! Exile is for isolating Tommy so he can’t cause trouble, not for abusing and gaslighting him to near the point of fucking suicide ! And what happened to Vikkstar & Lazarbeam was completely unnecessary ! Dream and Punz did NOT need to kill them over and over and over just to test the Revival Book, that is cruel and several violations of human’s rights.

Conclusion : C!Dream fucking sucks and I wish Punz didn’t brought him back. I’m an enthusiast, not apologist. His motive makes him explainable, not justifiable or excusable, and if I ever somehow manage to rip the fabric of reality and teleport to the DSMP universe, the first thing I will do is find Dream to deck him.

… But he’s still a complex character and one of my favourites.

Anyway, if I miss a point or something, do remind me. I’ll probably edit this and add more character analysis in the morning, when my thoughts are actually coherent and I’m not writing something from pure spite and anger.

Sure, he never physically hurt them as far as we’re aware, but do you know how painful it is to watch your friend spirals and became the total opposite of how they were ? How helpless it feels when you realised your friend is too far gone and you can’t help them ? How guilty it is when you think of all the times you could reach out and stop them from turning out like this but you didn’t ? How badly that would take a toll on your mental health ?

But anyway, just because C!Dream is a horrible person, that doesn’t mean what happened in prison is okay. The whole obsidian cell with lava door and raw potato ? Yeah, that’s fine, I can get behind that, since it was his idea for prison to be like that. It’s just karma. What I meant is the torture part. Does he deserve it ? Depends who you ask. I personally think it was justified and deserved, but that still doesn’t make it okay.

DSMP x Encanto AU

Some Post-Story Headcannons:

(By Post-Story, I mean after the main story of Encanto. Like the epilogue)

Now that he could take more breaks and had less chores, Tubbo decided to take up some hobbies. Turns out his mind was just as terrifying as his strength. Tubbo was quick to pick up on tinkering and engineering.

Philza and Tommy start spending more time together. Especially with Phil teaching Tommy how to fly and how to groom his new wings.

Technoblade started a potato farm. Ranboo would often help him around the fields.

Ranboo starts being more playful and loud, rather than keeping the mysterious and graceful act he once did.

The village in the encanto would get imported goods through two trusted merchants: Vikkstar and LazarBeam

Tommy got his own jukebox in his room and a personal collection of record discs that he bought from the merchants. He would play music whenever he was in his room. Whether it was arts and crafts during the day, or sleeping through the night.

Eventually Dream got fed up with it. With his gift, he could always hear the music despite the soundproofing. He snuck into Tommy’s room and stole all his discs.

Tommy frantically searched for his discs for weeks until he finally learned who took them. He snitched on Dream to the rest of the Minecraft family who forced him to return the discs to their rightful owner.

Quackity tries not to show it, but he’s genuinely afraid of Technoblade. Besides the rumors, most of his memories of Techno as a child was this large man towering menacingly over him.

Sapnap: You’re scaring him.

Techno: That’s just my face.

At present, Quackity is still awkward at interacting with his uncle.

George did not fall in love right away after Dream’s confession.

Instead he took a moment to stare at Dream’s rarely seen unmasked face, and at his tail wagging excitedly behind him. ‘Cute,’ He thought.

“Okay,” George began. “Would you like to go on a date?”

Dream didn’t reply immediately. His tail, however, stilled after the question. Then started wagging even faster. Falling in love seemed easy to do though.

Okay so I was like thinking about stuff and like

I wonder if Dream killed Tommy (in prison) to make sure Sam was going to let Tommy out

So like obviously we know that Dream wasn't actually testing the book on Tommy because he already did it with Vikkstar, that other guy, Punz, and himself- and we know that Dream moreso was using Tommy's belief of himself as the villain to his benefit than actually being obsessed with making Tommy suffer

So, the reasons he would've killed Tommy would be to prove he can revive people, especially considering that nobody knows about the experiments him and Punz did

But that feels a bit off, there wasn't any threat to him if he couldn't they were keeping him alive in the prison and this was a couple months before the torture started, he didn't need to prove that he could revive people because this was before anyone wanted him dead despite what he said about revival (no one was threatening his life, he was being kept in the prison and there was no threat that he might be moved to a more secure prison or something like that)

Now obviously with Ranboo (while enderwalking) having set off the TNT to trap Tommy in there with Dream you could argue they did this to get Tommy stuck with Dream so he could prove he could revive people

But idk that feels a bit off too, cause it felt more like Dream wanting to just scare Tommy again to make sure people didn't catch onto his real plan (or maybe even to attempt bonding, who fucking knows) (plus even then he could've revived Wilbur or Schlatt to prove that anyways)

But here's something interesting I remembered

Tommy was stuck in the prison longer than he was supposed to be in there for a week (and it's stated that he's not supposed to stay in there any longer than that, he signed a contract and everything that said if the security had a problem the prison would lock down and he'd be stuck and be let out at the end of seven days), and then the end of the week came, Sam showed up to feed them and told Tommy that because he hadn't found the issue yet, he was going to leave Tommy trapped in there with Dream (literally breaking protocol) until he could figure it out, with no definite timeline for how long that'd take

And then Dream killed and revived Tommy- and y'know what happened right after Tommy was revived? Sam saw on the cameras and got him the fuck out

If Dream hasn't killed and revived Tommy, Tommy might've been trapped in there for 2 years like Dream

So what if the whole reason Dream killed him was to get Sam to let him out

With the added bonus of scaring Tommy into being blind of his plan still, and also to prove he can revive people- as bonuses

So like, Dream might've saved Tommy from prison

Cracked idea for a dsmp fan-project:

A semi-short analog-horror series about c!Dream's revival experiments on c!Vikk and c!Lazar at his lab. The tapes would appear to be basically nothing at first to anyone who isn't familiar with the likes of c!Dream, just some strange guy documenting his findings in a new project he's started. But then by like a minute into the first tape it cuts to two guys getting lava poured on them while trapped in life-sized test tubes.

The tape then cuts to a day later in the same room, c!Punz walks in guiding two pale, almost sickly versions of the last two captives with pained, echoing voices wanting to to know what was happening to them. But both c!Dream and c!Punz ignore them as c!Punz pulls the two ghosts onto the platform that the test tubes were still on and c!Dream steps in front of a lava cauldron with an odd book in hand. He flips it open to a page barely readable from where the camera is set up and starts speaking in some long-dead language while the book's words glow a poisonous green. c!Dream then quickly sets the book on the lectern right behind him and grabs the ghosts' arms, he proceeds to squeeze on them, causing the ghosts to start yelping in pain until they eventually blow away like nothing more than gusts of wind, leaving their chains to clink to the floor.

That's when c!Dream takes the book back and tosses it into the cauldron. Just as the lava appears to fade to a soul fire blue, c!Dream dips his hands in and the lava ignites with a light powerful enough to blind the camera for a few seconds and when it finally fades back, c!Vikk and c!Lazar appear to be regrowing back into their original forms inside the test tubes. A streak of a blinding white left in their hair. c!Dream turns to the camera and gives a sickening grin, giggling to himself in excitement over the experiment's success before whipping around to c!Punz and ordering him to help him return c!Vikk and c!Lazar to their cells so they can think of where they go from here.

And that's how the first tape ends.

Right, so Blades basically go on the mod/admin list by default in this AU, with limited powers. For example, since none of the Blades are the original Blade who started the server/have been added to an "allowed" list of commands, non of them can do /ban. Lets take a look at some of the powers that they do have!

c!Phil - he's an Aegis, he's got Creative. Always forgets about it though. Mostly uses /enchant.

c!Techno - since he's in Resonance with Phil and Kristen, he also gets Creative. On his own, he gets the power to /tp. He's very proud of himself for figuring out a non-Blade way for flying in Skyblock

c!Skeppy - he's actually got flying. This is partly an air Blade thing. Mostly he doesn't on the DSMP because it's more fun to mess around with Bad on the ground.

c!Callahan - all mobs are non-hostile to him. Technically bosses too, like withers or the ender dragon. Also he can do spawn tracking. Worked with Dream to turn off the Phantom spawns.

c!Slime - /clone. Very useful for building things with Quackity from Las Nevadas. Gets corrupted as a command, and later is (ab)used to create the slime army

c!Punz - he can mute people! It makes it so that certain messages, either sent by a player or sent by the world about the player, cannot be seen by anyone but him (brought to you by how the hell did people on-server miss 60+ death messages about Dream and Punz killing Lazar and Vikkstar over and over again?). Useful post Staged Finale, because every time a Blade is Awakened, they get ____ has joined the game messages.

c!Dream - He always gets /daylock because he is a light Blade. He also gets a /locate, which is why he's not very good at maps -- he's never actually needed them before. Worked with Callahan to turn off Phantom spawns.

c!Drista - she does pop in occasionally. As XD's Blade, she gets Creative. If she ever ended up in Resonance with someone else, she'd only have /xp.
