I love how when Louis is talking about Armand to Daniel in 1x05, he says: "Metronomic, my Rashid," in a low purr. He NEVER refers to ANY of his staff in a possessive way like that. It should have indicated to us right then that Louis' relationship with "Rashid" was not just that of a boss and his employee.
Okay, so, maybe the campers ARE going to Saudi Arabia next season. Or rather, the United Arab Emirates.
Because that's definitely the Burj Kalifa.
And while that doesn't NECESSARILY mean anything (there's the slightly-antisemitic lizard-people-Illuminati picture with what might be Jared Leto?), we got pictures of Daniel Kon in the third season of the first show, a drawing of Yaz's mom in Season 4, and a number of other dinosaur models throughout the show that showed up later.
They drew Dubai for a reason!!!
Are we going to Downtown Dubai? Maybe, maybe not. But it would be neat if it was on the horizon.
Y-40 "The Deep Joy" pool first opened on 5 June 2014 and was designed by architect Emanuele Boaretto.
It is 42.15 metres (138 ft) deep which, at the time of opening, made it the deepest pool in the world.
It contains 4,300 cubic metres (1,136,000 US gal) of thermal water kept at a temperature of 32–34 °C (90–93 °F).
The pool features underwater caves and a suspended, transparent, underwater tunnel for guests to walk through.
It includes platforms at various depths, ranging from 1.3 metres (4.3 ft) to 12 metres (39 ft), before the walls of the pool narrow into a well-like funnel, which plunges straight down to 40 metres (131 ft).
Hotel Terme Millepini offers tickets to freedive and scuba dive.
Italian freediver Umberto Pelizzari first measured the depth before the pool was open.
When it opened on 5 June 2014, it was awarded the "Deepest Swimming Pool for Diving" by the Guinness World Records.
That record was previously held by the Nemo 33 pool in Belgium.
Y-40 now stands as the third deepest swimming pool in the world, exceeded only by Deepspot in Poland, and Deep Dive Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
HEAVY SPRING RAINS BRING MASSIVE FLOODING TO THE UAE
📹 Scenes from Dubai International Airport, where flights have been diverted to Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi following intense flooding resulting from a tropical depression which dumped more rain over the previous 24-hours than has ever been recorded in the UAE.
According to local reporting, the National Center of Meteorology for the UAE announced that the effects of the depression has finally receded after dumping more than 100ml (over 6in) of rain in less than 24-hours for the first time in the country's history, resulting in flooding that saw multiple feet of water filling the streets of Dubai.
Yet ANOTHER thing that makes me think Louis and Armand were in love in Dubai was how deeply betrayed Louis seemed by Armand erasing his memories, and how he started being sarcastic about their love. If he hadn't loved Armand, I don't think that he would have done that, because the fact that he was sarcastic means that when he talked about their love before, it was in earnest. And after Armand said that Louis had asked Armand to erase the memories, Louis' attitude clearly softened, and he looked at Armand in a very vulnerable way. He didn't want to feel betrayed by Armand. He loved and trusted him, and he wanted to maintain that love and trust, which is why he was willing to believe him. If he didn't love and trust Armand, he wouldn't have softened at all, just like Daniel. Daniel disliked and distrusted Armand(with very good reason), so he didn't believe Armand for a second. The fact that Louis did says it all.
I’m sorry.I’ll do better.I just didn’t know what exactly to say because I’ve never felt with it before. That and it auto corrected me- But I am deeply sorry.
bless your heart anon – it's okay, i hope that you do take the time to do a little read into the region - it's actually really interesting!
and you know, here's a fun fact i've noticed a lot about people from iran and iraq specifically - the majority of my iranian friends prefer to introduce themselves as "persian" before they say "iranian" - it's kind of funny - and my dad, who's iraqi, much prefers to introduce himself as "babylonian" rather than iraqi - i think it's so interesting to see - that they're not eager to claim the nationality that has been carved out for them by the modern day division of the middle east (as per the sykes–picot partition imposed by the british), but are so proud to proclaim their heritage based on the greater history of their regions and their people. i think it's interesting, i think it's interesting. maybe i should start introducing myself as babylonian, like my dad. sumerian, actually, i think. i've always been so interested in sumerian culture specifically,, (it was one of my special interests, at a time!) and i've done so many research and art projects based in that history... ough. i should get back into it, maybe.
