In episode 2 Darryl asks Ron how he tries to raise Terry and he doesn't know what to answer except "I just try to not make him feel like I did when I was his age" and you don't really reflect on it, and then 59 episodes later we watch Ron's dad try to drown him when he's Terry's age

This was one of those episodes where like it was so good but I’ll literally never listen to it again GOTTA PROTECT MY PEACE 🫡

Okay, now I can put this into better words. The Ron arc was SO good. Beth embodied him perfectly. She always does, but especially in this episode. She conveyed how Ron was feeling as he was reliving all of these horrible memories with Willy so well. It felt so real to me, and I love that. Thank you Beth May, you national treasure.

The thing with Death of a Salesman too is that the plot twist in the final memory is so insane. Like I have gasped a lot at earlier plot twists and the good rolls and bad rolls, but that was just so sick I can’t stop thinking about it.

In hindsight I should have guessed that there would be something wrong with the final memory. I was totally prepared for the “Ron killed his Dad” joke theory from a previous episode to be true. It seemed totally plausible for that to be true in a roundabout way where Ron just let Willy die through Ron’s own inaction (which that did happen in the end so still a satisfying pay off)

But as soon as I heard Willy say “Oh shit there’s a fish” I literally paused the podcast and paced around for a bit, completely expecting this to play out exactly like Ron had described it previously, and then when I finally sat back down thinking I was fully prepared it went like THAT. OUCH. SCREAMS CRIES THROWS UP
