I bought three video games in a bundle for steam since it was $5.99 USD altogether. I don't know when I'll play them though. xD I already have other video games I hadn't played yet. I'll just save them for the future. Here's where I bought them from: https://www.fanatical.com/en/pick-and-mix/build-your-own-bento-bundle

Some thoughts and details on my last Gamefly rental, Dusk Diver(Switch version):
Tumblr media
While Yang Yumo and her friend Yusha are hanging out in Ximending in Taipei, Taiwan, they accidently wander into a dimensional fissure and are attacked by monsters. Yumo gets hurt by one trying to save Yusha, but gets healed by someone else there, Leo. After doing so, however, he turns into a smaller form, and Yumo gains his power and can fight the monsters, called ‘Chaos Beasts’.
Afterwards, they take Yusha, who had passed out, to a convenience store that Leo works at, where he and his superior, just called Boss(who is in the form of a Daruma-like ceramic), explain to Yumo about the Chaos Beasts and the other realm they’re from, Youshanding, and the barrier between them is weakening. She is given a necklace that stops her from taking Leo’s powers but can still transform if she needs to. Yumo then agrees to help them out while Boss tries to figure out a way to get Yumo back to normal.
I have no idea if it’s just a big coincidence or an inspiration/homage, but after Yumo transforms, she takes on a similar look to Yang Xiao Long from RWBY. She’s even a brawler like Yang is in gameplay. Her hair takes on a whitish-blue color as opposed to Yang’s bright blonde/golden, though, but using her D. Arms form makes her hair glow gold(with some green). This is part of the reason I wanted to play this. XP
The main gameplay in this is a 3D Beat’em up.
Normal Attacks are done with Y and X, Dash with ZR, and B jumps. Yumo has a few combos to use, and can use Skill Points to get more, though only really on the ground, no real aerial combos.
Yumo can summon the Kunlunian allies she meets through the game by pressing A when fighting enemies, and switching which of them gets summoned by hitting Up, Left, or Right on the D-Pad once they become available. They can break through the Super Armor that stronger enemies and Bosses have faster.
After a little while, Yumo gains a super mode called D.Arms that makes her move faster and do more damage, and lets her do a few more attacks, one done by holding L and then pressing R(which changes depending on the selected ally), which does a lot of damage but ends D. Arms.
You can build up Yumo’s friendship with Leo, Bahet and Le Viada by summoning them to help you fight and eat food they like around Ximending. Their bond goes up to level 5, but you need to see an event and do a training mission with them to advance to the next level. Doing these also gives them a new ability to use.
The groups ‘main base’ is a convenience store where you can buy some healing items, talk with your party members, look at the Gallery, change outfits and redo any main story mission(and let you do a Hard Mode version of them), as well as access/redo any available ally training missions and request Missions from Boss. There’s also a tree there that can be watered after every visit to Youshanding. Watering it enough times will have it grow a Peach in Chapter 13 that can be sold for a lot of money.
Each mission is graded after finishing it, S Rank being the highest, and you get rewards based on the ranking, such as money, Dragon Vein Shards, Skill Points and Items. Once Yuno’s gotten more powerful, going back to get S Ranks is easier. It seems to be only based on how quickly it’s completed, though.
Four items can be brought into battles, each assigned to a direction on the D-Pad, and can be used while holding L.
In each Chapter, new Link Quests with people around the city will become available. Doing these increases the power of Yumo’s D. Arms mode. They aren’t marked on the map right away, but will appear on the minimap once you get close to them, and can then be tracked from the ‘Link’ submenu.
There are many stores around Ximending that you can buy food at. Buying from them gives you a bonus effect for your next visit to Youshanding, increases bonds with your allies(depending on what you buy, as some like certain foods more than others), and also raises your Familiarity with that store. Raising it to maximum, 5, is easy, just buy from there 5 times, and doing so lets you order from them at the convenience store without having to go there directly
There’s some collectables to get:
Costumes, which can be found from story progress, Link Quests and Gachapon machines(these appear throughout Ximending as the story progresses, and always give a new item when you use them). There's a few unique ones, such as being able to get Yumo’s D.Arms outfit to wear anytime, though some of them feel like just palette swaps.
Concept art, also found in the Gachapon machines.
Dragon Vein Shards(these are needed to progress the story, and they also give Skill Points). They can be found in main story stages and around Ximending. A bit into the game, you meet the Tao Master who you can pay to have them appear on the Map of the city, as they’re otherwise not marked.
Fortunes. At a shrine to the southwest of Ximending, you can get fortunes that have some poetry and I think makes treasure boxes spawn in Youshanding. There are many of these, and you can get repeats unless you check between Youshanding visits, but unlike the Gachapon machines, they’re free, so you could just spam A here for a while if you want to get them all.
Some issues I had:
-The game’s load times can be a bit annoying at times.
-Stuff that should be marked on the Map isn’t, or at least not without going to their own submenu or getting close enough for them to appear on the minimap(for Link Quests).
-There’s a glitch that may crash the game on occasion when checking out the Closet in the convenience store.
The camera sometimes becomes a pain if you’re too close to walls.
Some parts with platforming could be a bit better.
Some noticeable typos, and there seems to be an issue with the dialogue at some sections ‘rolling over’ and there doesn’t seem to be a Text Log option(or maybe there was and I missed it).
I liked the growing friendship Yumo has with her main three allies. Kind of like older siblings or older family members(especially with Leo). I like stories that have humans bond with gods or the like, and learn from each other.
The characters in this were nice, and the combat felt very fast paced and fun. I want to get to Dusk Diver 2 eventually and see where they go from here. This one seems to go on sale on occasion, so I may pick it up for support when it does.
Next game being sent is: Carto.

Collector’s Cabinet: Dusk Diver 2 Launch Edition
Idea Factory International have been treating gamers to a whole host of limited editions and launch editions of their latest releases. In the limited edition department, we only have to look to Birushana: Rising Flower of Genpei for a recent example. Their latest special launch edition release is Dusk Diver 2. The original Dusk Diver came out in 2019 and fans have been waiting on the English release of its sequel. While this might not be a true “limited edition” in name, the initial physical release includes much of the items you’d expect to find in one — and at a much more affordable price tag.
Check it out!

Dusk Diver 2 PS5 Review
Dusk Diver 2 PS5 Review
Dusk Diver 2 is Idea Factory’s latest action RPG beat ’em up with lots of style and appeal. While the game features crisp visuals, and a very intriguing fantastical premise, it’s unfortunately bogged down by lots of unpolished features. Set in the district of Ximending, the game follows Yang Yumo, a student and part time worker who is also a “Guardian of Kunlun” who helps out humanity by…

I’m so happy you’re up for writing for WTTW! It’s one of my all time faves, can’t believe it’s been a year?!
Please could I request a cute little blurb set during the drive back maybe? Something cute and loved up and maybe a little smutty (for the sluts) (aka me)
Or anything else from this AU you feel like writing!

“Pull over.”
“What?”
“Pull over.”
You were on a road outside of a town in Utah, Carmel and the ocean long left behind. It was almost dusk, that golden kind of light draping over the canyons, making the desert landscape look pink, like a dream. Everything was cotton candy, soft and sweet, including the boy driving.
“D’you need to pee or something?” Steve asked and he peered down at the map that was thrown across your legs. “There should be a gas station somewhere along here if—”
“Or something,” you replied, your answer vague enough to have Steve frowning but he was already pulling off of the road, pink and red dust kicking up from the wheels.
“What’s wrong? Are you ok— oh.” He realised what was happening when you arched up, hips lifting from the seat, just enough for you to hook your fingers into the sides of your underwear and peel them down from underneath your dress. “Oh my god, okay, yeah.”
His belt was unbuckled instantly, a comical quickness to his actions, the buckle hitting the door panel with a thud and he was sliding the divers seat back quicker than he could keep up with, his other hand hitting the horn.
It was all laughter into mouths, pretty, sweet, urgent kisses over the stick shift and Steve wasn’t shy about urging you into his lap. He kissed you until you were breathless, until the sky went from pink to lavender and the clouds in the distance rolled a little closer. It wasn’t a busy road per se, definitely sleepy at this hour but headlights flashed over your both as an old truck blurred past and it just made everything a little more exciting.
Steve was making the nicest noises, needy gasps and groans as you rocked over him, his jeans unbuckled just enough to free his cock and he threw his head back at the feel of how wet you were, letting you nip and lick at his throat, his jaw.
And when he got close and the stars started to blink from between the rock formations, Steve gripped your hip with one hand and urged you to ride him faster, the windows wet with condensation, the car rocking in the most obvious way. He used his free hand to slip down the straps of your dress from your shoulders, tugged the flowery material down over your tits until you were wearing it around the middle of your waist like a belt.
You were so on show it was obscene.
“I’m close,” you moaned and Steve just thrust up to keep you, cock sliding in and out with slick sounds.
You grabbed at his hair, tugging, gazing down at him with hazy eyes. He was tanned, sunkissed and freckles with his lips pink and parted for you, staring right back with pupils blown wide.
“Christ, you’re so pretty,” he murmured and his voice was gone, wrecked. “Gonna come for me? Just for me?”
You nodded, gasping, pulling at his hair until he groaned and took over, holding your hips still so he could fuck up into you until you came, clenching down on him.
And if that happened in every place you stopped on the way home, well. That wasn’t a vacation story you needed to share with friends.

I got the besties on steam! They're from Dusk Diver/酉閃町, a video game from Taiwan. I just started to play it with Mandarin Chinese voice overs. Yumo reminds me a little of Ami from "Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth". Everything else is familiar too, so it's fun!

Review: Dusk Diver 2
Dusk Diver 2 shows a notable improvement over the original by adding a second playable character to switch between in-battle at any point, but doesn’t improve the formula enough to be a must-have for anyone who didn’t love the original. The combat system has been beefed up, but variety is still in short-supply and the same environments being used throughout dungeons hurts things.

Sharks, such as this shortfin mako, have special reflective cells in their eyes that give them clear night vision. So it's no wonder that sharks typically hunt at dusk or after dark.
