"Naming of Parts" - a parody version.

I posted the original poem a couple of days ago, along with a link to it being read aloud, in part by poet Henry Reed himself.

The website where I found the reading has a section on parodies of Reed's poems, mostly variants of "Naming...", and this one fits in particularly well with Foodie Sunday posts.

I don't know anything about E. V. Milner - who has almost no internet presence - or even when the poem was written, though they seem to have been active in the 1960s.

I have a feeling, from various little clues, that the TV cook who "warms to her theme with ardent, unflagging exuberance" is a restrained (non-libellous) version of Fanny Cradock, a name most US readers and UK ones under A Certain Age probably won't recognise.

Those who do might draw in a sharp breath between their teeth, because her notorious mistreatment of subordinates, i.e. anyone not her, led to the abrupt collapse of her career and an article some years ago calling her "Gordon Ramsay in a frock". :-P

Today we have Baking of Tarts. Yesterday We had Simple Salads. And a fortnight tomorrow We shall have How to Garnish Cod Cutlets. But today Today we have Baking of Tarts. The viewers Ogle their screens in a flurry of breathless excitement, For today we have Baking of Tarts. This is the plastic mixing bowl. And this Is the rolling-pin and the board, whose use you will see In a moment. And this is the transparent oven Which in your case you have not got. The speaker Warms to her theme with ardent, unflagging exuberance, Which in our case we have not got. This is the strawberry jam which is neatly extracted With a gentle thrust of the spoon. ➤ i feel like in terms of school, he and j.a.r.v.i.s/f.r.i.d.a.y would help as much as they could, though i think he would be very good at explaining things so it's easier to grasp (not in an infantilizing way obvs).

➤ if you couldn't find a fidget toy that was the one for you, he would definitely spend time making the perfect one for you.

➤ if you need a binder, he would perfect one just for you so you don't have to look for one from a possibly problematic branding (not naming names).

➤ if you need to legally change your name, it would be sorted so quick, he'd even bribe them to sort it as soon as they received it.

Another list of unrealistic wishes for the 2024 tour

Back at it again with the delusional takes and here to make it everyone elses problem - a very warm welcome to volume 2 of our wishes for the upcoming Rammstein tour ✨ This time again carefully put together by @wizzardclown @gothtoast and me, with additional wonderful influences by my dear @m---e---l. Thank you ladies 🤍

Set list and concert organisation in general

first up, the question of the supporting act: -> either not happening in general, since none of us actually want to endure another round of the piano tinkling, so we though about this concept:

This way, we get an even longer concert with no distraction from the pure Rammstein sound.

-> or, another idea which came to mind: to celebrate the literary-genius Flake, he could give us a reading of one of his books before the concert, lighten up the mood and feeding the masses with entertaining facts. Additionally, Richard could play some piano in the background during it, for dramatic effect (like the piano accompaniment during silent movies back in the old days).

Opener for the concert this year: 'Haifisch'. Would be an amazing and appreciative nod towards the fans in regards to the support the band was shown last year.

'Zwitter': a banger to set the sexual ambiguous mood for the evening.

'Mein Land': Not sure if they every played this one live, but it would be a fitting song to get some summer vibes going.

for sunset rather fittingly 'Sonne'.

Off to the first proper segment, welcome to the 👻haunting hour👻: fitting for the upcoming night time, a creepy conglomerate consisting of: -> 'Wilder Wein' (I could write a whole chapter about this song, it's so captivating), followed by 'Spieluhr' -> 'Hilf mir': perfect for some new haunting stage show (maybe as a replacement for 'Puppe'; or to quote @wizzardclown: 'When in doubt, set Flake on fire') -> 'Heirate mich': preferably with some 'sliding on his knees/a rolling board'-Till -> to end this phase with a classic: 'Du riechst so gut' is an absolute MUST.

following: 'Rein Raus', some relaxing ASMR to lighten the mood.

Welcome to the next section: 🔥Some like it hot🔥, consisting of: -> 'Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen': camera focus has to be on Schneider. -> 'Asche zu Asche' with burning mics (!). -> 'Du hast' with its fire rockets (my favourite pyro in the whole concert) because no Rammstein concert can exist without this song, that's a physical law, and additionally Richard would be sad if he couldn't play it. -> 'Engel' preferably with the iconic wings (poor Till really has to go all in during this concert).

as a moment to take a breather: Mutter.

'Deutschland': a song we all wait for, with a huge meaning, just overall a perfect piece - yet no remix this time, since we need the time to slide right into the next phase of the concert:

💗questionable on-stage actions and homoerotica galore💗, consisting of: -> 'Mein Teil', with dilf dad-dance moves AND several guitarist kisses (what better moment than the dick eating song for it) -> 'Zick Zack' with at least some sort of elaborate costumes, -> 'Feuerräder', for the perfect vibe with Flake riding on Till's back, neon tube ready to knock seven bells out of his tormentor (justice for Flake), additionally maybe Oliver skating with his roller skates which emit flames in the background and more guitarist kisses

after this breathtaking segment, how about some 'Anna'-sing along! Scream the name of your fave on the top of your lungs and show your love for him 💘

finally some unrealistic (as if the whole list isn't a fever dream already) wishes : 'Eifersucht' and 'Fellfrosch'. To finally give Olli's sick bass lines the stage they deserve 😤

A life like being buried alive…

Something very personal today (and I’m apologising for the poor quality of my writing in this post. I’m crashing hard again…). Usually, I’m not asking for reblogs of my posts, but this time, I would highly appreciate it, in order to spread awareness.

There will be several demonstrations today in Germany, in honour of the ME/CFS Awareness Day tomorrow. I know, I’ve complained already a lot about my suffering from this disease on my blog - although it’s always related to Severus Snape - but this is important to me! Please, whoever of my beloved mutuals might live in Germany: Please feel free to take my placards and go out to the streets, demonstrate for me and all the other people, who are suffering from this bitch of a disease!

Living with ME/CFS feels like being burried alive! I can’t leave the fucking darkness and solitude of my room anymore. My children are missing their mother….and I’m missing a life, which is worth living for!!

And if you’re seeing some blue lights in any windows tomorrow…please think of me and the other people with ME/CFS.

Messerschmitt Bf 109 V21. On 18 August 1939, it took off with an American Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp engine. The engine most likely came from a Junkers Ju 90 airliner ordered but not delivered to the South Africans. The V-21 (civil registration number D-IFKQ, W.Nr. 1770) was created on the basis of a heavily redesigned Bf 109E-3. Surprisingly, according to the reports of the corporate tester, the aircraft performed well in the air, its behavior was similar to that of Emil. Later, it flew in the interests of the research organizations Deutsche Forschungsanstalt für Segelflug (DFS) and Luftfahrtforschungsanstalt Hermann Göring e.V. (LFA) until at least September 1940.
