As long as it was in front of the press and Pepper knew about it- which she did, Bucky briefly mentioned it to her months ago- they had the green light.

And what a better moment to come out as Captain America’s lover than on live TV, on Fox, a few days after the Supreme Court ruled that anyone could marry whomever they wanted? There was no better time in Bucky’s book.

“Yeah, dad, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.” Christopher calls from inside the Jeep, extending a hand for the bag housing the donut, “I thank you very much for your gift, Buck.”

“See,” Buck turns to give Chris the donut, “Chris knows what a gift is.”

Though the winter chill remains persistent, nipping away on exposed skin when a breeze blows, it has settled enough to thaw out the marina partially.  The boat rentals have resumed their services promptly after the diamond disasters, and Eizen swooped down on the chance like a hawk.

“There are some ice floes further out, but we’ll be fine,”   he assures, hoping to smooth out any doubts Edna may have.  Sure, the weather isn’t best suited for an outing in the middle of the ocean.  The summer months would have been a better option, but there’s no time like the present.  

He steps aboard the black sailboat, which bobs gently over the water beneath his weight.  Getting his sealegs again after being landlocked for so long will take some time, but Eizen relishes the moment━━ one he wants to share with his sibling if it meant spending more time together.
