For any university students out there, I really do highly recommend getting involved with your student government or another student org that gets you involved on campus. It's honestly all the fun of politics but with much fewer actual politics, and instead of talking to actual politicians you can have serious conversations about the state of the school's budget and the culture of the student body with the dude who runs the video game club/anime club/comic book club/esports club, which is an objectively more fun dude to be in a conversation with.

#technically esports club is disbanded and this guy is only trying to start it up again #and he also has a 5th club under his belt that i couldn't remember #i don't think he's eboard for all of them but i know their eboards work together and are super tight #and they do all their shit together at the same time #which is objectively cool and i didnt know that until last night #being in a room with a bunch of student leaders who care way too much about this type of shit has no business being as fun as it is #rambles

the alcohol culture in college (especially Greek life) is so wild.

I was at a social and I wasn’t planning on drinking for many reasons. But I was talking to some girls from my sorority and two of them separately asked me if I was drinking tonight. I was like “oh no I’m not, I’m under.” And I showed the X on my hand. they were both so surprised by that. They were like “do you not have a fake” “do you still have fun without alcohol?” And it’s like yeah I can vibe without alch it’s not necessary to have a good time, the last time I drank on the regular was freshman year of uni.

Anyway, my student org that I co-founded and have been Secretary for since 2021 has been slowly imploding since the month I was out with COVID-19.

#delete later #most of the eboard has been dogshit from the start and it’s like. 2 of us running things with a 3rd periodically doing a thing and hiding #when I got sick it seems like everyone burned out #and now I have to try and salvage this mess prior to reregistration in two weeks #and we only have two (2) eboard candidates who’ve applied to replace the current team #our laws make it so I can’t technically run for Secretary again and only fill it as an interim officer until a new one comes #I am gonna mcfreaking lose it #this was written in pink so I can actually see what I type #we have had really interesting guest speakers and we have a large membership base #but due to the subject of our organization everyone fancies themselves the most mysterious man in the world and wants to keep their head low
