To this day, I stew in a subdued, yet burning anger about a project from over 11 years ago I helped work on extensively that should have become a full finished pilot. I seethe to myself at the people who headed that production and ran it into the ground after becoming afraid that the "studios would think it wasn't marketable enough to a wider audience" when pitching it and changed the whole thing to then run THAT version into the ground too. I reminisce about what could and should have been from myself and the rest of our incredibly dedicated team of artists who worked their asses off on pre-production, some for the first time, in crafting an animated world full of heart and whimsy only for all that work to crumble for no good reason. And above all else, I hate myself for not fighting harder even though I know I was younger at the time with only minimal experience under my belt. I'm so grateful I ended up on the project I'm still a part of today after the fact when I needed it the most, but I will never, EVER forgive the people who took our whole team for granted and went on with their lives and jobs as if it was nothing to them. Maybe it didn't mean much to you, but it meant something to me and it certainly meant something to so many young artists on that team trying to break into the industry and make art they could be excited and proud of.

Their idea is old and they (as well as other related species), appeared in some of my older art, but I haven't worked with their lore and design much. At some point they became so insignificant that even just their existence in canon was questionable.

But some time ago one of them appeared in my newest story as one of the main characters, so I tried to make a model for this species, while trying to figure out who they are and how to depict them. I usually perceive them as some "alternative wolves" from my world, but in fact they are some their very own thing.

They are quite huge solitary predators from distant northern lands, still quite mysterious though and not really willing to reveal their secrets (they are known as unfriendly loners, so this is natural)

They are also drawn to crystals - in one of my previous posts I hinted that a Kotie should be careful when wandering through the crystal cave, as there are some other creatures who are attracted to such places. And so, I can finally show you who these creatures are :)

No one ended up guessing the old cartoon I was talking about re-watching and I'm impatient lol, so you get a sneak peak of this huge sketch sheet i'm making for now. It's called Dragon Booster and I'm so curious to see if anyone else remembers watching it back in 2004 cause it still rules and it was one of my BIG FAVS.
