Eclipse: This is amazing! I got kicked out of the Black Comet, but I finally have a brother!

Shadow: Yes. Now come meet Silver.

Eclipse: Oh, is he a friend?

(When they get to Shadow’s house)

Silver, a seven year old hedgehog with just enough Black Arms DNA to have a longer tail and a third eye (when his powers act up): Wait, if you’re dad’s brother… You’re my uncle?!

Eclipse: I’m your uncle?!

Cue the both of them going “I’m your uncle!!”/“You’re my uncle!!” for like five minutes.

This is the best day of Eclipse’s life. He finds his brother, and then finds out he has a nephew?! Could this day get any better?

Shadow: Come on, I need to introduce you to the rest of the family.

Eclipse: There’s more?!

Yep. Shadow introduces him to Rouge and Omega, his best friends whom he considers family. Then they meet Cream and Vanilla, who are Shadow’s adopted sister and niece. They kind of adopted each other, really. Then he meets Team Sonic. And eventually, during one of those particularly rough days, Eclipse will learn about Maria.

Headcanons under the cut

I have always had the belief that the longer shadow lives the more alien like his body becomes (longer arms, digigrade legs, more reptile features) due to the dark arm dna

Shadows muzzle is also paling over time as it will (in a couple more centuries become very reptilian like Eclipse’s muzzle)

Like ten years after the comet got destroyed Eclipse’s legs popped off in his sleep because since he’s the oldest remaining dark arm that leadership title IMMEDIATELY goes to him and his body changes to accommodate that role (also the reason for the horns)

He also would’ve chilled out and became an honorary team dark member by this point so it’s even better when he goes to get breakfast and Shadow nearly chokes on his coffee beans, until they can get him a robe they just put him in an oversized shirt (Eclipse did not notice his legs were gone until Rouge pointed it out)

Eclipse specifically requested for his robe to have an eclipse symbol on it (Shadow thought this was cheesy as fuck and will never not bring it up in arguments)

Eclipse also gets tail spikes that can work as a mace and a starfish seeing eye thing

Funny idea: eclipse sort of living with amy in your bio!shadow au. Just amy and her weird alien roommate that digs through her trash at 3am.

Its all part of Eclipses plan to integrate into the cast and get closer to Shadow, Amy knows there's something sus about him but she's on a "I can fix him" routine. She's also shoving all kinds of food in him since Eclipse is very open to eating anything and everything

One of my favorite things about the concept of Shadow and Eclipse being good brothers (maybe Eclipse saw the life on Earth and rebelled!) is when you include it in a Sonadow universe or the other way around, you could have Eclipse being protective of Shadow.

I’m smiling thinking about Sonic trying to approach Shadow and gift him a bouquet of lavender, but Eclipse is clinging onto Shadow and hissing with his tail shaking like a rattlesnake. Shadow is displeased, Sonic is unsettled, and Eclipse is determined not to give this Mobian a chance to break his brother’s heart.

Spoiler alert; He failed in the end. They still got together, but that’s only because the blue blur proved himself to be well-suited! Totally not because Eclipse knew he wasn’t going to change either of their minds and reluctantly stepped aside to let them kiss!
