The arc I enjoy the most re-watching The Owl House is Eda's struggle with the curse. It makes my little ADHD heart cry (my eyes are literally wet as I'm writing this)

The thing that buys me is that she spent her life fighting the curse, but she has to understand it as a part of herself.

I too accumulated so much shame. I even became self-hate. Discovering my ADHD was life-changing. I could stop the cycle of "I don't have any problems, I just have to do things right and push more" -> "I messed up, I can't do things right, hate myself". Stopping fighting my ADHD and understanding how to manage it was such a relief!

I know that this is intended as a metaphor for disability(/chronic illness/maybe AIDS?). And I didn't have things as hard as Eda. But yeah, it hits a soft spot in my heart.

Taking Owl House characters at their word is funny bc Luz definitely not grieving at all. King is definitely a violent monarch and loves blood and death. Eda. Darius hates everyone and is okay with ppl dying. Belos is super intelligent and the hero and he’s the victim and it’s totally not a narrative he wrote for himself.

I didn’t want to bring it up or pressure you or anything but I think it would be so cool if you come back! I mean, there might be some stress from Zira and all them, but we can handle it together this time.” He put his hands on his cheeks as his eyes widened in excitement. “I could finally have a decent study buddy! I love Mattholomule but he always complains because reading is ‘boring nerd stuff’ and he’d rather play with rocks or whatever.” I smirked. “Oh, you love Matt, huh?” “Uh, yeah?” Gus said. “I’m like, in love with him. Everyone knows that.” “But you guys are still just friends?” He rolled his eyes. “We’re not just friends.” “So you are dating?” “No! Why does everyone think that!?”  I blinked at him, getting more confused with every word he said. “I don’t get it.” “That’s not the point anyway!” Gus diverted. “You, coming back to Hexside. Oh! You should come to the end of year party!” I half scoffed, half snorted. “No fucking way. I do not do parties.” He got a sly smile on his face that made me dread his next words. “What if I told you the party happens to be happening on my birthday?” “Dude, are you seriously trying to guilt me into going to this thing?” “Yes, yes I am.”

Ok pros of dragon age being ‘dead’ is I can make up rules for shapeshifting mages. If they get good enough they can transform into weird half-animal half-human guys (gender neutral) like Eda the Owl Lady from Owl house. They should be allowed to. As a treat.

no one has explored the idea of darius and camila co-parenting hunter enough. like where the hell are the fics about darius calling camila asking if hunter left his derby uniform at her house or camila personally going to drop off hunter at his dad's house and sharing a cup of tea with him while she asks about hunter's grades at hexside and darius asks about hunter's sleeping habits and if she had any human alternatives to sleeping nettles that might help him sleep without the dream-enhancing side effect.

what about camila inviting darius to stay for dinner when he comes to drop off hunter at his mom's house and darius asking for the recipe and then asking the kids what ingredients he could substitute and which ones have to stay the same. or camila specifically adding three more lines to her phone plan-- one for vee, one for hunter, and one for darius so that they can keep in contact more easily. or hunter getting in trouble at school for picking a fight with boscha but when principal bump calls, darius is extremely busy with work so he calls camila and asks her to handle it.

maybe darius gets in an argument with hunter and he cant tell where he went wrong and calls camila and she listens and gives him her advice as someone whose been a parent for fourteen years vs. his own eight months. or camila opens up to darius about her own struggles with losing her husband and he opens up with his own grief over losing his mentor. or they talk on the phone for hours and gossip with each other. maybe darius comes over to hang out with camila and binge watch a new show with her while the kids are at school
