The demon (marauders brainrot) in me is creating temptations beyond the flesh (compelling me to write a multichap about Wayne Munson & Eddie’s mum growing up) that are unshakeable and deadly (there is no target audience for this bullshit)

Steve gets very well acquainted with hawkins general while Eddie is healing as he's wondering around when Eddie's busy (surgeries, physical therapy ect) and finds out there are babies that need to be held because they don't have anyone and nurses and doctors can't spend the necessary time to do it so he starts volunteering
Eddie is working on his mobility and was told to walk as much as he could but there's only so much walking up and down one hallway a man can take so he goes off to find Steve in the mythical land of babies (he'd heard about Steve's adventures because Steve came to hang out with spit up on his shirt once and robin complaining that it wasn't fair that all the cute nurses were obsessed with him just because he held a few newborns)
Eddie finds him swaying and cooing at the baby in his arms and man if he wasn't gone of Steve already he'd be absolutely done for

So sorry that I wanted two characters that have been through trauma and loneliness to find happiness and love in the comfort that they have with each other. What a silly goose I was hoping for that

Father's Day
Was going to post this for the steddie microfic June prompt, but decided it's probably not Steddie-centric. Still sticking to the reqs though, just for fun!
prompt: "stuff" || wc: 483 || rated: G || cw: none

Everyone knows Steve’s house is free reign for hangouts, yet the Party’s collectively designated Sundays as alone time for the new couple. So it’s a bit of a surprise that someone’s knocking.
The fact someone’s knocking at all is weird.
“Hey sweetheart,” Eddie shouts from the living room, “can you grab that? I think someone’s here.”
Steve opens the door to find Dustin and Max looking slightly shy, if he had to put his finger on it. Odd, especially for them. They’re holding gift bags filled with colorful tissue paper, Max’s blue and Dustin’s red.
Before Steve can invite them in, they surge past him towards the living room. So not too far off from normal, he thinks.
He trails after them and finds Eddie right where he left him– sitting on the floor, surrounded by DnD books and a notebook perched in his lap.
“Babe, what are the sheepies doing here? It’s Sunday,” Eddie asks. He’s smiling up at them, despite the interruption.
Of course they’re happy to see the kids– always are, always will be– but only these two could get away with showing up on Eddie and Steve day.
“We brought you something,” Max says, thrusting the gift into Steve’s arms. Dustin drops his onto Eddie’s lap, scattering his loose notes.
Curious, Steve looks to catch Eddie’s expression to find him already tearing into the gift. Steve sets his on the coffee table and digs out the colorful paper.
Inside he finds a plain, white coffee mug, except it’s been hand-painted with colorful paint pens. On it he finds a basketball, baseball, and a crudely drawn version of his beloved beemer. But on the front, the word “Dingus” is written in Max’s bubble font underneath a bloody version of his nail bat.
His eyes sting with warmth, and he looks up at Max, whose cheeks are flushed red. Steve finds Eddie holding a similar mug covered in what he assumes are DnD monsters, along with some dice, and his precious Warlock on the front with “Metalhead” underneath.
“What is this,” Steve asks, choking on the lump lodged in his throat.
“It’s all stuff you like,” Max replies, pointing at the mug, choosing the easy answer instead of the real one.
”No– why?” Steve feels like he can’t breathe, his eyes almost full, and his heart racing.
“It’s Father’s Day,” Dustin says, sniffling and wringing his hat in his hands “and me and Max, you know, we don’t–”
“You guys taught us how to play basketball, so we could practice with Lucas,” Max interrupts. “And how to play guitar. And all of the Upside-Down stuff. You’re always here.”
Steve wraps Max up in his arms, dragging her to the ground next to Dustin similarly draped over Eddie. It’s not the six little nuggets Steve asked for.
But these kids– their kids– are so much more than he ever could’ve hoped for.
~~~
To everyone out there who doesn't have a father, your father is absolute shit, or you mom was both parents -- I hope you have as good a Sunday as possible.
I would like to see Ramon play a big part in bringing Chris and Eddie back together. I want to see the fruit of his and Eddie's labor in repairing their relationship. I want Ramon confident that Eddie is a good dad and the best thing for Chris. I want him facilitating communication between Eddie and Chris. I want him to do it to his own detriment when Helena isn't on his side. Make this nightmare worth it with the character development in the aftermath, I beg.
That deal with the devil/fae post where they want the summoner's first born in exchange, and the summoner goes "ok when do we start" BUT STEDDIE WITH STEVIE
She hasn't given up on that 6 nuggets dream but it's became quadruple hard now that she's transitioning, both because of dating and the technical stuff. So she figures, I'll ask a magical being for the right plumbing and it'll all be smooth(er) sailing from there.
Eddie the Banished is the demon, and he's like "of course sweetheart, but I get dibs on the first off spring".
And Stevie gets all red and stuttery at first but she is desperate and she figures, the sooner the better, and since he's already here and offering, she asks "Would you want to do all six?"
To Eddie, music was never about the fame.
He always believed in being a good person. Too many bad people in his life have shown him what’s most important, and Eddie’s always believed that no famous person can be good. Sure, there are kind and generous famous people, ones that gave and loved and supported others. But if you’re sitting on that much money, and that much power, how good can you really be?
Okay, well, sure. It’s not like fame isn’t something he wanted. Who wouldn’t want to be famous, for real? Yeah, famous people aren’t good in his eyes, but Eddie knew he wasn’t all that good anyway. He tried to be, he really did, but sometimes he was just an asshole, and he knew that. Plus, he’d spent a few too many nights in the holding cell down at Hawkins PD to be considered a good person. So yeah, fame would be cool. Like, what doesn’t sound appealing about the fucking Freak rocking up at his highschool ten year reunion as an uber rich, world famous rockstar, desired by men and woman alike? It would be fucking awesome. He’d be able to fuck with so many of these dumb assholes.
Music to Eddie was about the feeling.
He played to feel.
He performed to make other people feel.
His love for music started young. His mother would put him on her lap at the mere age of three and press his little hands over the ivory keys of her old family piano. He could play a handful of quippy songs by the age of five. She used to sing him lullabies (which were mostly just old blues songs and a few of her favourites by the Beatles), and Eddie learned to sing along with her.
Often when just sitting at home, when he was colouring or doing his homework or something at the kitchen table, he’d listen to his mother hum whilst she cooked or cleaned around him. And he’d start to hum along, and they’d start to sing, and then soon enough they’d be dancing around the apartment singing their songs. And when Eddie was five, he was still a small kid, but he saw Wayne playing his guitar and wanted to learn. He couldn’t stretch his fingers over the frets or strings, couldn’t wrap a hand around the neck, hell, the body was bigger than he was. And so Wayne pulled out his old ukulele, tuned it up, and taught Eddie a few songs on that.
When Eddie turned eight, and he got a little bigger, Wayne gifted Eddie his old guitar. Eddie learnt. He taught himself, mostly. Well, a few chords from Wayne, a few chords from his mother, and the rest he just… figured out. He’d rent videos of lessons, or guitarists playing live in concert and would imitate the way they moved their fingers.
He had a good ear for sound, learnt from a game his mother taught him. She was a singer, used to sing on the late night news with a bunch of other chorus girls. So she’d hum a note and Eddie would try and match it, and she’d keep humming it until he got it right. So he’d just keep moving his fingers in different formations until something sounded smooth and resembled the sound in the song he was trying to learn. He was sure it was probably wrong, sometimes, not the way the rockstars played it, but it sounded the same, so that’s all he cared about.
He could write well too. He always used to like coming up with silly songs whilst getting ready in the morning. He had a song for brushing his teeth that went for exactly two minutes, to make sure he brushed them well. He had a song for getting dressed, and a song for packing his lunch. He had a song for everything, and his mother bought him a journal to write all his songs down in, so he did. He wrote them all, and then he wrote more, and by the age of eleven Eddie had two shelves full of journals with all his songs.
Music was his way of feeling, his way of coping.
When his mother died, so did the music.
Steves absent asshole parents come home carrying a new born and he's rightfully confused as they hand it to him explaining that they're his half sibling (from one of his father's affairs that they have custody of for narrative reasons)
His parents just straight up leave telling him they'll send money for the baby expenses every month
They didn't even notice or care that the rest of the party was there hanging out and just watched Steve in real time accept single fatherhood of his baby sibling
(Eddie of course doesn't let it stay single father hood for long they've already got 7 kids together basically what's one more)
Dear everyone who assumes Eddie’s horniness for clipboard Buck is a sub thing:
have you considered it’s actually a ‘You’re cute when you’re being a brat’ thing?
Like, it’s so indulgent, Eddie just wants to tell him he’s doing such a good job, get him all flustered with teasing promises and praise, slip that clipboard out of his grasp, and then unwind him until Buck is putty beneath his hands
Eddie is so horny for how obsessively Buck cares about stuff, he literally acts like it’s the cutest thing he’s ever seen. Just absolutely insane, the both of them.
