To Eddie, music was never about the fame.
He always believed in being a good person. Too many bad people in his life have shown him what’s most important, and Eddie’s always believed that no famous person can be good. Sure, there are kind and generous famous people, ones that gave and loved and supported others. But if you’re sitting on that much money, and that much power, how good can you really be?
Okay, well, sure. It’s not like fame isn’t something he wanted. Who wouldn’t want to be famous, for real? Yeah, famous people aren’t good in his eyes, but Eddie knew he wasn’t all that good anyway. He tried to be, he really did, but sometimes he was just an asshole, and he knew that. Plus, he’d spent a few too many nights in the holding cell down at Hawkins PD to be considered a good person. So yeah, fame would be cool. Like, what doesn’t sound appealing about the fucking Freak rocking up at his highschool ten year reunion as an uber rich, world famous rockstar, desired by men and woman alike? It would be fucking awesome. He’d be able to fuck with so many of these dumb assholes.
Music to Eddie was about the feeling.
He played to feel.
He performed to make other people feel.
His love for music started young. His mother would put him on her lap at the mere age of three and press his little hands over the ivory keys of her old family piano. He could play a handful of quippy songs by the age of five. She used to sing him lullabies (which were mostly just old blues songs and a few of her favourites by the Beatles), and Eddie learned to sing along with her.
Often when just sitting at home, when he was colouring or doing his homework or something at the kitchen table, he’d listen to his mother hum whilst she cooked or cleaned around him. And he’d start to hum along, and they’d start to sing, and then soon enough they’d be dancing around the apartment singing their songs. And when Eddie was five, he was still a small kid, but he saw Wayne playing his guitar and wanted to learn. He couldn’t stretch his fingers over the frets or strings, couldn’t wrap a hand around the neck, hell, the body was bigger than he was. And so Wayne pulled out his old ukulele, tuned it up, and taught Eddie a few songs on that.
When Eddie turned eight, and he got a little bigger, Wayne gifted Eddie his old guitar. Eddie learnt. He taught himself, mostly. Well, a few chords from Wayne, a few chords from his mother, and the rest he just… figured out. He’d rent videos of lessons, or guitarists playing live in concert and would imitate the way they moved their fingers.
He had a good ear for sound, learnt from a game his mother taught him. She was a singer, used to sing on the late night news with a bunch of other chorus girls. So she’d hum a note and Eddie would try and match it, and she’d keep humming it until he got it right. So he’d just keep moving his fingers in different formations until something sounded smooth and resembled the sound in the song he was trying to learn. He was sure it was probably wrong, sometimes, not the way the rockstars played it, but it sounded the same, so that’s all he cared about.
He could write well too. He always used to like coming up with silly songs whilst getting ready in the morning. He had a song for brushing his teeth that went for exactly two minutes, to make sure he brushed them well. He had a song for getting dressed, and a song for packing his lunch. He had a song for everything, and his mother bought him a journal to write all his songs down in, so he did. He wrote them all, and then he wrote more, and by the age of eleven Eddie had two shelves full of journals with all his songs.
Music was his way of feeling, his way of coping.
When his mother died, so did the music.

The wrong DNA test
( what if, Sheila wasn't really Jason's mother? The system is already corrupted, then what about the test?).
A huge brawl containing every rogue had started at the time of Halloween, causing the people from downtown to fled there home's as joker had clownized the whole neighborhood with his goon's.
Every bats had taken to groups to take out the three parts of Gotham's as the rogue's had started to make alliances, some had lasted quite long while had conflicts, and causing a big damage to Arkham asylum,
It didn't take long before they captured all of them, none of the bats questions as they observed Jason glowing green eyes starting to flick, they thought it was the pit again, growing wary of the cooperation, but Crime alley was involved and that mean business to Red hood's turf.
Catherine todd love her son as her own even if not biological, Jason knew that. But her thing with drugs couldn't make her stop.
Sometimes after that, they could hear Jason humming a tune,a nice melody from Damian's statement saying that Jason muttered to him “ lullaby” as Jason continued to read his book, maybe it could be from Catherine,
they knew how Jason's past with Catherine todd, his mom even if not related, Catherine loves her son like her own kid but her doing drugs and... overdosing couldn't be stop.
Maybe Jason just remembered his mother maybe reminiscing atleast something familiar...even if it was a bad time.
Jason had constantly have been hearing a woman's? Man's? Voice, singing him a lullaby...it soothing, like as if he known and loved this melody...and that's where the dreams kept coming, there was a person, giving him kisses, Talkin to him stories, singing him lullabies and soothing him, he could dream that he was actually a baby, a baby from a normal couple, well don't count the luxurious baby room.
Jason had took out a conspiracies why he was getting this dreams, ( he swears he's not becoming Tim) and voices, maybe like a misshapen memories from the pits of victims? No it's to peaceful for that, maybe magic? He already contacted Constantine but surely hang up after knowing who it was-
Just how is he getting this dreams? Unless it wasn't.... So he proved again his point, he started a DNA test, again but none had records...of Sheila being his biological mother...that was weird, last time he had a test was from the time as robin..and before his-
So he went to that hospital who had said where Sheila had given birth to him, and most of shock is that no one knows a mother giving birth named Sheila haywood but had a document of a baby, of one Jason jay nightingale, the most believing part was that it's the same day he was born in.
His mother, Daniel F. Nightingale was said to be trans as the doctor who help his mother safely delivered him, And saying that his mother loved him,
one Sheila Haywood had the constant trick to get him and taken him as his own, because his mother's family was a wealthy one they practically sold him to her.
Jason had thought that maybe his mother's family never wanted him to have a son with a man from Gotham's crime alley.
Meanwhile Danny had just been YEETED to the DC universe before the start of Batman's justice thing and had been adopted by a very wealthy fruit loops couple as there kid, so he stayed as the couples daughter even pretending, because he owed ghost writer a favor for the last time, and as DC universe exist so it's story, and one thing for sure the child he had to give birth in this universe has a very complicated fate,
he did the one night stand from his supposed friend Willis Todd? He had to befriend him as Dalia F. nightingale the supposed Wealthy daughter who fell in love with a peasant trope, and gotten pregnant making it a scandal, and reaching to his ‘parents’ circle and getting that drama.
But he never thought he would care for his child, his little jay, his ghost side would purr in delight when they held Jason, he was a very hard sucker especially from his pacifier or his breast, it's so weird being in a women body,
but the way his ‘parents’ sold his son to the women who was supposed to get his son killed and being revived by cheap parody ass of ectoplasm.
He went feral, he had an argument to his ‘parents’ but all fell deaf ears, he couldn't find his son in one of the hotels nearby where that BXtch was.
And that time was where his part of the script was fulfilled, ghost writer already took him, both sides of his, were angry.
He. will. get. his. baby. back.

The Super 17 arc in GT bothers me on many levels, but this one moment in particular irks me to this day.
Poor 18 just watched her husband murdered in front of her face, by her own brother, and is now having to help kill said brother to avenge her husband and save the planet and so forth and they decide... "hey, this would be a great place to insert some fanservice".
Like that's all it is, too. You don't need to have her rip her shirt like that to emphasize where that bomb supposedly was. You don't need to have a bunch of cleavage show. You don't need to be establishing exactly what kind of bra she's wearing under that. C'mon, man.
Just... jeez, read the room.

I know the ask is about ships but could you make a non ship one with Dean and Carlos from the Winchesters? I can't think of an exact thing for Dean to say, but the first sentence can be what Dean would say for their first meeting. Thank you if you can (*^‿^*)
"I like your hair," Dean says, staring up from where he's clinging to the bottom of Mary's winter coat, and Carlos grins wide when he adds, with all the breathless gravity of a four year old eager to impress their opinions upon a new friend; "It's swooshy and it's pretty like Mommy's hair, and your-- your beads are pretty and shiny and shiny is my favorite color."
"Swooshy and pretty and shiny is exactly what I was going for, so thank you, little buddy."
Even with almost six years between now and the last time he'd seen Mary, Carlos is relieved to find that they still have a good sense of one-another -- can still communicate silently, swiftly, like they used to when it was life or death. He meets her eye, and her face softens, and understanding passes between them before he slides one of his lucky beaded bracelets -- the bloodstone one -- free.
Dean's eyes light up when he takes it.
When he smiles, he looks just like his mother.
[for this askbox game if anyone else wants to send me a prompt]

The difference between the tragedy of Edwin's and Charles' lives and deaths and what makes Charles' much more compelling to me is that Edwin never had anyone he could trust: he grew up with distant parents who i imagine he saw rarely and could not confide in, then he went to school and was immediately recognized as other in a way he had not fully realized of himself yet and was killed for it, and then comes hell and well who can u trust in hell? Certainly not the things that chase you until your legs ache, and even if your compatriots in the whole ordeal are as innocent as you, trapped in the same technicality, what is the good of trusting them, when they are just as helpless as you?
But Charles? Everyone Charles was supposed to trust betrayed him. His parents were close to him, atleast somewhat, atleast his father was around enough to get sick of hearing owner of a lonely heart, and his mother was around enough to watch his father beat him and be silently horrified and ultimately not do anything about it, maybe she stepped in once and we just never saw it, but I wouldn't bet on it, Charles' mom is 'quiet' that's her defining feature to Charles not protective or gentle just 'quiet', then Charles gets to school and he is popular he has friends! He has people who care for him (or should maybe, as long as he's good at sports like he's needed to be) and then he stands up for one person, because he has always wanted to be good and maybe he trusts himself to do it just this once and his friends kill him and his own actions signed the death warrant and he cannot even trust himself to do the right thing properly (it never got better and then you died)
And maybe, maybe Edwin does it too, with less intention to hurt, and with less knowledge but Charles and Edwin trust eachother maybe more than anything (maybe Charles would sooner slip away from earth's gravity than stop putting his trust in Edwin who he thinks is good and smart and brills and aces) and maybe Edwin still looks at Charles trying to protect him after Charles has had maybe the worst week of his existence and says "that was a bit...... extreme" and Edwin still promises Charles can tell him anything while hiding himself in a way that makes Charles feel untrustworthy
So yeah I'll never stop thinking about the tragedy of Charles Rowland actually 👍 think about him with me

ok i was looking through my notes and this one made me laugh a lot like i almost don't want to spoil it in case i ever write it. LOL
so the premise of this fic is that angus mcdonald (who is at this point say like 13-14 years old) comes home from school over spring break to discover that one of his family members has suddenly died.
gasp!
i want to say it's taako but i think actually it's lucretia. lucretia died, which is strange for a number of reasons, like she's old but not that old, and all evidence is pointing to the fact that foul play might have been involved.
so now angus has to solve her murder.
lup, barry, and kravitz are away on a cult stake-out, no service in the spooky necromantic keep, so they can't help out—no checking in on her soul in the astral plane, etc. angus has to do this the old-fashioned way. strangely, magnus and merle keep alternating between being very sad and suspiciously blasé about their very good friend dying. and taako… well, that's complicated.
i mean, talk about complicated; lucretia's kind of a controversial figure—was it someone looking for revenge after losing a loved one to the relic wars? someone angry that she erased their memories of a beloved family member? one of boylands' kids, maybe? it couldn't have been—taako?
and i can't stress this enough: the tone of the fic and the way it's framed would be such that the reader believes that lucretia has actually died. the reader is going along with angus for the ride, trying to piece together what actually happened, almost like, a little noir but mostly clue-style, in the days leading up to her funeral, where angus gets to do a dramatic confrontation with her killer.
you think it's building to the reveal that taako really did kill lucretia—but that can't be it, right? that's wild! they've got beef, but he wouldn't really, would he?
well. you're right! he didn't!
because lucretia *wasn't* murdered, angus says. and this isn't a funeral at all. is it, ma'am?
lucretia sits up from where she was lying, arms crossed, eyes closed, in her casket. and she says, booyah.
cue magic. sparkles from prestidigitation a la taako. balloons. gifts. a banner reveals itself. it reads: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGUS!
that's right. it wasn't a murder. for a boy detective, it was the greatest gift of all. the gift of a murder mystery. a murder mystery birthday party. booyah

never getting over how adorable young tesilid is.
his many many expressions in the toy mansion dungeon when he's surprised, miffed, or shy.
squishest little guy ever. i want to pinch his cheeks and ruffle his hair and give him more food.
when he sees his new Defend Partner skill lets him absorb ailette's wounds and he was so happy and excited about it 😭 terrible skill as a standalone, but he's so happy he could potentially be helpful to his new friend.
like this is literally the most openly happy expression we had seen on him at this point of time. he's already imprinting on her. to think that he was radiating "one wrong answer and i'm going to deck you" vibes at the start of this arc. i know they did go through a life-and-death experience together and that does create an unbreakable bond or whatnot, but he warmed up to her so quickly it's so cute.
then webnovel chapter 53 when the sacred sheep start going on missions and hestio & ephael are like "? oh you still care about that pink-haired girl? we're probably never meeting her again though" but tesilid was like no we Will meet again, with such certainty that the other two don't even have anything to say in reply. and he internally was like "we literally have a shared skill so we Will meet again!"
like. idk what their in-universe understanding of fate is, and whether having a shared skill does actually mean your fates are intertwined. but did it never cross his mind that maybe they'll have shared skills but never meet again. like two ships passing in the night, the world is so big. but he isn't anxious or impatient or worried that he won't be able to find her, he'e so certain that they'll meet again. he's like No We're Soulmates like woah! okay tesilid. like idk if he considered her a romantic interest at this point (esp since the sacred sheep can't marry, and i don't think he would have been willing to break the law) but he's already imprinted on her so hard
and then whenever he feels sad she comes to mind like oh my god, tesilid,
