From the 12 princesses and the ridiculously princess-like names, the over supplication of the plot line and the creepy monkey named Brutus (of all things) to the utter beauty that is the soundtrack. I’ll say it again. It’s a perfect movie.

Let's look at the Faerie Tale Theatre version, The Dancing Princesses, where there are only six princesses, and where their names all end in "etta," which means "little":

Coretta: "Maiden" or "heart."

Dinetta: "Judged" or "religion."

Musetta: "Muse" or "bagpipe."

Wanetta: An Anglicized form of "Juanita," which means "God is gracious."

Then there's the Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics anime adaptation, The Worn-Out Dancing Shoes, where there are only three princesses:

Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses has to be one of the most comforting movies I watched growing up. I was obsessed with all of the colors, the dancing, and the music. The Eldest Seven princesses are my favorite part of the movie by far though. Their personalities and dynamics with each other are really cute, and I loved watching them dance especially Delia and Edeline, they went OFF. I’ve seen a lot love on this site for Blair and it is well deserved, her red dress is ✨iconic✨ and the fact that she had mud on her skirt when meeting Rowena and didn’t notice/give a shit was funny as hell. Courtney and Fallon I kin with the most because I like to read and I’m also a romantic. Plus, Fallon calling Rowena mean to her sisters was satisfying as hell, I wished she would have went off on her. I think besides Lacey, Rowena was the meanest to Fallon? Yeah, I would’ve shut her down if I was her. Ashlyn is amazing and (in my opinion) very underrated compared to Blair or Fallon, I think she is a great oldest sister and the only one of the sisters that is actually tame compared to the others, I mean, did her ass really need those lessons, she was already acting like a “proper princess.” Her face when Blair is getting called out for the mud on her skirt was hilarious, she looked so scared for Blair. Delia and Edeline are sports queens and I loved their introduction in the movie, they literally didn’t give a shit if they hit a person with that ball or not, they had to play their fucking game. Genevieve deserves all the flowers in the world for being very suspicious of Rowena and wasn’t putting up with her bullshit (I mean none of them were putting up with her shit, but Genevieve was the most outspoken and did send Derek to go find out more information about Rowena). She is also very smart and a great tactician since she is a great chess player and was the one to form the plan on how they were going to defeat Rowena (the fan scene is still iconic to this day, I mean using Rowena’s fan lesson against her? Amazing.) Yeah, so they are all amazing characters and deserve so much praise, and I won’t accept slander of any of them.

Oh yeah btw, i had a dream of a Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses sequel with Ashlyn getting married. Only a few of the sisters actually showed up to the wedding, and the most prominent one was Edeline. She and Ashlyn had a nasty argument over Ashlyn's groom-to-be, but I'm not sure all of what it was about. Their relationship went from strained to essentially broken and Edeline left the wedding venue in a huff. Ashlyn ended up getting married to the guy regardless and this was the end of the movie. There was no hint of regret or sadness behind her eyes, and I was so fucking distraught over this. How can Ashlyn cut Edeline out so easily with no remorse. There's no way this is in-character. Please say sike, that this isnt canon.
