The fact that you can play a Samurai in Elden Ring is fucking hilarious to me. Like, you’ve got all these other origins and they’ve got some sort of tie in to the world of the Lands Between. Heroes are descendants of Godfrey, Astrologers, Prophets, and all other sorts directly connected to the world or a faction in it.

And then there’s just... like... a Samurai. They’re not even from the Lands Between. They’re a silent protagonist because they don’t speak the fucking language. They have no idea how they got there. There’s one other person in the entire game who’s from where you’re from and he’s a fucking bounty hunter. You miss your horse.

Mapping the stars is fairly easy, but Izar has a hard time figuring out the constellations. Some of them, however, are still common knowledge in the Lands Between, so Ensha helps her, pointing out those he knows.

i refuse to accept any other kind of astrologer in movies, anime, games, manga that is not similar to the elden ring astrologer. yes, let them read the stars. yes, let them shoot stars.

i love it because in a fantasy setting being an astrologer means being a scholar. and that is exactly how i see it.

I love the sorcery connections between the family. Rennala could become a moon in her sorcery. Ranni could become a dark moon. Radahn just became an absolute meteor. While Ranni and Rennala focused upon the planetary body of the moon, Rykard just focused on the Earth itself, drawing out the heat of the planet as magma rather than the ice of the moon. The two women are very much about the skies above, the beauty and grace of moonlight, whereas Rykard and Radahn just yearned for rocks.

the phrase “Rykard and Radahn yearned for rocks” is absolutely ruining me it’s so true jshsjdkfkflfv… you know, technically the moon is also a rock so you could say that Ranni and Rennala also yearned for rocks… the biggest rocks in fact 🌕🌑

ACTUALLY now that I think about it, technically ALL glintstone sorcery is rock-based. the power sources are different colored crystals. every sorcerer yearns for rocks in their own way <3
