Elemental is still living rent free in my head haha and since I finally finished a big commission I was working on the past month, I can draw some personal stuff yaay
I got inspired by @paperbagedhead , @abbytabbys and @cyndavilachase with their Elemental oc kids, so I wanted to design a child for Wade and Ember as well =)
I wasn't too creative with the name I reckon, but I couldn't think of another name that I liked.
I thought that when Misty was a toddler she struggle to keep floating in the same place, and was often blown away by the wind (which made her temporarily afraid of heights, the irony). So, in her early years she would often be wearing her mother's dress and boots to stay in the same place. (She did not like the weight of the clothes, though).
In her teens, Misty became a lot more reserved and had difficulty connecting with other elements, since her parents were one of the first inter-elemental couples in the city. She really wanted to fit in and tried to apply for the junior windbreakers (I loved this idea from @cyndavilachase), but got rejected because she wasn't "windy" enough for the games. These were challenging years for Misty, since she struggled a lot trying to be more "watery" or "fiery" but never really fitting in.
As an adult, Misty finally found her true passion and self-confidence, becoming an engineer. Since she is made of steam, I wanted to give her kind of a steampunk vibe, which carries an interesting mix of water and fire motifs. She enjoys solving problems and building devices. I envision that she would mainly work fixing old pipes and structures in Firetown, and in a near future, she'd build better air transportations suited for fire people.
Misty got her mother's knack for building stuff. She often tries to solve things in the most logical way. It is very difficult to make her truly angry, but when she does…
(I'm still trying to figure out more ideas for her, but I think this is it for now. Hope you like the sketches! I had a lot of fun)

Y’all knew I was gonna do an Ember/Wade kid!
Meet Hae!
I know their kid was supposed to be steam, but I wanted to play with the hybrid design! Hae's made of water but has a burning core, so she's constantly boiling and steaming.
She got her mom's temper and tends to vaporize when she loses control, but Wade is usually there to mediate before it gets that far

when you miss machining so hard that you go and draw a whole ass lathe, then decide you need to have an engineering nerd in front of it.
drew @pinetreevillain ‘s child Timothy in the most pinetreevillainish art style I could muster to do him justice.

As demonstrated in my most recent fic, I'm obessed with the idea that Fabian's fire elemental ends up being so obviously biased towards Riz because it's influenced by all the affection he won't allow himself to shower on Riz. Like, when Fabian summons it to help the other Bad Kids, it does what it's told with haste and urgency but when Riz is involved it's so obvious that this living flame has a favourite.
The elemental kisses Riz’s cheeks, ruffles his hair, dries him off if he gets soaked, coos and fawns over him, and always moves just a bit quicker if he's in danger. If Fabian forgets to give it more orders, it won't stray more than its full movement away from Riz. Who doesn't mind most of the time because the elemental counts as an ally and can grant him sneak attack.
The other Bad Kids recognize this and joke about it between themselves while Fabian and Riz are truly clueless about it.

Related to the last post, I haven't said anything because I need to sit with it and see how Ashton responds in the long-term, but man, it's got to be absolutely earth-shattering (pun genuinely unintended, I can't come up with a better word for it) to be so angry at the concept of fate, or at how the gods never helped you, and then see a vision of the version of you where things went "well" and realize that in that version of the world, you fucking sucked.
